Throughout its history, Earth has undergone five mass extinction events. The most recent was the one that killed all the dinosaurs.

The mass extinction event that wiped out all non-avian dinosaurs 66 million years ago was caused by a giant asteroid that slammed into the Earth.

Not only did this spell the end of an era for dinosaurs, but about 80 percent of animals on the planet were obliterated as well.

After performing an analysis of metal isotopes that were scattered from the impact, scientists think they have now figured out the origin of the asteroid.

It’s not from the main asteroid belt, as previously believed, but from the outer solar system beyond Jupiter.

Biden-Harris Admin Stonewalls Congressional Probe Into US Nonprofits Bankrolling Pro-Hamas Protests

The Biden-Harris administration is stonewalling a congressional probe into 20 anti-Israel nonprofit groups with suspected links to money laundering and terrorism financing, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. Lawmakers are teasing a subpoena as a result.

Congress initiated the probe in mid-May, instructing the Treasury Department to hand over “suspicious activity reports” related to organizations that are bankrolling “illegal and antisemitic activities” across America, including on college campuses and in major cities nationwide. Those organizations include Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

Lawmakers say the financial reports are vital to their oversight investigation. More than three months after lawmakers first requested the documents, the Treasury Department still “has not produced” a single record related to the investigation, according to Reps. James Comer (R., Ky.) and Virginia Foxx (R., N.C.), the respective chairs of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and Committee on Education and the Workforce.

If the Biden-Harris administration continues to impede the investigation, the lawmakers are prepared to subpoena the relevant records, according to a letter sent Wednesday to the Treasury Department and exclusively obtained by the Free Beacon.

Stephen Ireland, who is also the founder of gay pride in Surrey, is facing more than 30 charges, including rape of a child under 13, sexual assault, six counts of conspiracy to sexually assault a child, conspiracy to kidnap a child, voyeurism, making indecent photographs of children, arranging the commission of a child sex offence, and possession of an extreme pornographic image.

The development raises alarm over how Educate and Celebrate were, for example, given access to nursery age children across the country, while a Christian chaplain, Rev. Dr. Bernard Randall, was reported to counter-terrorism, sacked, and blacklisted as a safeguarding risk to children by the Church of England (CofE), after raising concern about the group.

UK Revisits Social Media Regulation After Far-Right Riots

The act, passed in October but not set to be enforced until early next year, allows the government to fine social media companies up to 10% of global turnover if they are found in breach.

At present, companies would only face a fine if they fail to police illegal content, such as incitments to violence or hate speech. Proposed changes could see Ofcom sanction companies if they allow “legal but harmful” content such as misinformation to flourish.

Britain’s recently elected Labour government inherited the legislation from the Conservatives, who spent many months tweaking the bill in an attempt to balance the right to free speech with concerns over online harms.

On Friday, pollster YouGov published a survey of more than 2,000 adults, which found two thirds (66%) believe social media companies should be held responsible for posts inciting criminal behavior.

A further 70% of respondents said social media companies were not strongly regulated enough, and 71% said they did not do enough to counter misinformation while the riots were ongoing.

Ukraine carried out its largest long-range drone strike of the war on four Russian military airfields, security sources claimed.

The strike, which targeted Russia’s Voronezh, Kursk, Savasleyka and Borisoglebsk air bases up to 500 miles over the border, was aimed to undermine Moscow’s ability to use warplanes for glide bomb attacks.

It comes as Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky claimed his army was continuing to advance deeper into Russia after it launched an incursion over the border just over a week ago.

Zelensky said his forces have moved forward one to two kilometres in various directions inside Kursk today, although this hasn’t been independently verified.

In Belgorod, which borders Kursk, the governor said the situation was “extremely tense” and claimed Kyiv’s troops had been shelling his oblast over the past few days.

“We are making a decision to declare a regional emergency situation throughout the Belgorod region with a subsequent appeal to the government to declare a federal emergency situation,” Vyacheslav Gladkov said.
