… they’re trying to rig the system to ensure that Rep. Elise Stefanik’s House seat doesn’t get filled until this summer. She is expected to resign shortly if she is confirmed as President Donald Trump’s Ambassador to the United Nations.

In a state that wasn’t corrupt to its core, the seat would be filled by legal means worked out well in advance. But this is the Empire State, where things are done differently:

New York Democratic lawmakers are working to keep Republican Rep. Elise Stefanik’s House seat vacant until the summer in an unprecedented move hashed out during late-night discussions last week, a Republican Empire State assemblyman told Fox Digital.

“We still haven’t seen the final proposal from the Democrats in Albany, but there’s no doubt that Tammany Hall corruption is alive and well in the state capital,” Republican New York Assemblyman Matt Slater, who represents the state’s 94th district in areas of Putnam and Westchester counties, told Fox News Digital in an exclusive Zoom interview on Sunday morning.

President Donald Trump published a post on Truth Social on Christmas Day that suggests America might have to take the Panama Canal back because the country is charging outlandish rates and handing over the canal’s operations to the Chinese military.

Trump posted, “Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago), always making certain that the United States puts in Billions of Dollars in ‘repair’ money, but will have absolutely nothing to say about ‘anything.’”

U.S. President-elect Donald Trump alleged on Wednesday that ‘wonderful Chinese soldiers’ are operating the Panama Canal, sparking questions about U.S. investments in the vital waterway.

In a post on his Truth Social platform on Christmas Day, Trump alleged that the Chinese presence is aimed at ensuring that the U.S. invests billions of dollars in repairs without reaping any benefits. “The United States puts in billions of dollars in ‘repair’ money and gets nothing in return,” he said.

Trump also addressed Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, calling him “Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada” and suggesting that Canada could achieve significant tax cuts and “would be militarily protected like no other country anywhere in the world” if it joined the U.S. as its 51st state.

It appears the U.S. House Ethics Committee has found the leaker of an ethics report on former congressman and former AG Nominee Matt Gaetz (R-FL). That person is Susan Wild (D-PA), who recently lost her House seat so won’t be in the next congress, giving congress limited options to act to hold her accountable.

Representative Scott Perry (R-PA) was asked about supporting a House resolution to censure Wild. He responded through X, “While I am not leading this effort, I am being asked my view on a censure of Rep. Wild. House Ethics discussions are confidential and House Ethics has no jurisdiction over individuals not serving in Congress. There must be consequences for ‘leaking.’ How can anyone have any faith in the House Ethics Committee when one of its own members are engaged in unethical practices.”

A congresswoman has landed herself in hot water over efforts by the Democrats and their corporate media allies to torpedo former Rep. Matt Gaetz’s (R-FL) now-withdrawn nomination for President Donald Trump’s attorney general.

According to the Washington Examiner, House Ethics Committee ranking member Susan Wild (D-PA) is thought to have been at the center of a leak that sought to smear Gaetz’s reputation.

The leak was related to a controversial Ethics Committee report regarding Gaetz’s internal investigation.

Now, House Republicans are considering disciplinary actions against Wild.

The discipline could include a censure resolution.

A poll for the American Principles Project (APP) conducted by Cygnal following the 2024 presidential election shows that most Americans were swayed to vote for President-elect Donald Trump over Vice President Kamala Harris after learning of the latter’s support for minors “transitioning” and her other radical pro-LGBT stances.

The national poll sampled 1,500 voters and showed that 52% who were aware of Harris’s support for minors undergoing “sex change” operations were more likely to vote for Trump. The polling shows that Trump and the GOP were able to capitalize on Harris and the Democrats’ radical stances on the “transgender” and other LGBT issues in the lead-up to the election.

The poll also showed that 50% of voters sampled who were aware of Harris’s support for taxpayer-funded surgeries for gender-confused prisoners were more likely to vote for Trump, while 47% of voters who learned of Harris’s support for allowing men to compete in women’s sports were more likely to vote for Trump, and 45% of voters who saw the “Kamala is for they/them. President Trump is for you,” campaign ad was more likely to support Trump.

U.S. Senators Josh Hawley (R-MO) and Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) have both vowed to support all of President-elect Donald Trump’s cabinet nominees and called for confirmation hearings to be scheduled immediately.

“A majority of voters decided that the America First agenda championed by Donald Trump and J.D. Vance is a playbook for American greatness. As a part of that playbook, President Trump has already put together a strong, very strong list of qualified Cabinet members,” Tuberville, who was a highly successful college football coach before running for office, told his colleagues on the Senate floor Wednesday.

“At defense, he’s tapped Pete Hegseth, a veteran who served two tours in Iraq and Afghanistan, is an Ivy League educated businessman background. That’s what we need in the Pentagon right now to restore order in our finances. At HHS, he’s assigned Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who has single-handedly brought attention to the many public health crises facing Americans. He’s Harvard educated, has authored multiple books, and has a four-decade career in public health and environmental law,” he continued.

For the First Time in State History, California Voters Say No to Another Minimum Wage Hike– townhall.com

California voters rejected a measure that would gradually increase the statewide minimum wage to $18 per hour by 2026.

Two weeks after the election, Proposition 32 narrowly failed, 50.82 percent to 49.18 percent.

According to the Employment Policies Institute, “the rejection marks the first time in California history that a statewide minimum wage ballot measure has failed.”

The outcome was the latest indication of a rightward shift in the reliably blue state, which saw a number of surprising results from the Nov. 5 election. Voters overwhelmingly supported a ballot measure to undo a decade of progressive criminal justice reform, and rejected an initiative that would have banned forced prison labor.

Opponents and economists said that by striking down the proposed minimum-wage increase, voters signaled that they were nervous about businesses raising prices to offset their added labor expenses. The prospect of paying more for consumer goods was especially unappealing after years of high inflation, which has led to a persistent feeling among many people that they’re on shaky financial footing. After Democratic Party insiders pressured Joe Biden to withdraw from the 2024 election, many Americans across the political spectrum began to argue that he wasn’t cognitively fit to complete the remainder of his current term in office.

From there, a handful of pundits publicly called on Biden to step down, either for the good of the country or to give Kamala Harris an opportunity to serve for a few weeks as commander-in-chief.

Among the most recent examples of this trend came in the form of a statement by prolific pollster Nate Silver.

House Ethics Committee Republicans voted Wednesday against releasing the panel’s long-running investigation into U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s nominee for attorney general, former Rep. Matt Gaetz, the top Democrat on the panel said.

The outcome, however, is only a temporary reprieve for Gaetz, who faces allegations of sexual misconduct, as he works to personally secure his embattled nomination to be the nation’s top law enforcement official.

The House panel expects to meet again Dec. 5 to reconsider releasing its findings.

“There was no consensus on this issue,” said Rep. Susan Wild of Pennsylvania, the panel’s ranking Democrat, who said the vote fell along party lines on the evenly split committee.
