Trump says he won’t debate Harris again – CBS News Source Link Excerpt:
Washington — Former President Donald Trump announced Thursday that he won’t debate Vice President Kamala Harris again, following Tuesday night’s matchup between the two in Philadelphia.
“THERE WILL BE NO THIRD DEBATE!” Trump said at the end of a long post on his Truth Social account. The first presidential debate was in June between Trump and President Biden.
“When a prizefighter loses a fight, the first words out of his mouth are, ‘I WANT A REMATCH,'” Trump wrote in his post, explaining his decision and insisting unnamed polls showed he won.

Who won the ABC debate-ambush between former President Donald Trump, and the trio of Vice President Kamala Harris, David Muir, and Linsey Davis?
There were two clear winners: the Harris campaign, which was enriched with a massive in-kind donation from ABC in the form of a favorable political infomercial, and the ABC publicity department, which is now boasting about the network’s record viewership.
“With 19 million total viewers on ABC, ABC News’ presidential debate is the most-watched debate on any Network in 16 years,” a company statement said. “ABC News Live on streaming and digital platforms, including Hulu, Disney+ and ABC owned television stations, currently stands at 7.4 million viewers in early reporting, bringing ABC News audience to more than 26 million viewers. The debate is the most-viewed live event by hours streamed on Disney+ in the U.S. to date.”

I asked yesterday morning whether Kamala Harris’ camp got the ABC News debate questions in advance. The vice president was visibly nervous for the first portion of the debate but got into a groove, especially when she figured out that Donald Trump would take the bait she was chumming. When Trump took it hook, line, and sinker on the rally size dig, you knew he was going to be kicked off message when he had a wide berth to rip into Harris on inflation, immigration, and overall making us poorer than we were four years ago.

Harris seemed ready for the questions, which explained her word salad responses, but she never answered any of the questions from moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis. They did fact-check Trump live, though these interruptions were peppered with fake news—no shock there. Harris was never pressed for her mountain of lies, and we know why: an ABC whistleblower is alleging that not only did the Harris camp get questions in advance, but that she was given assurances that she wouldn’t be fact-checked by the moderators either. I’m not saying this is fact, but if this is true, it’s a major scandal:
BREAKING: ABC whistleblower allegedly will release an affidavit claiming the Harris campaign was given sample questions that were “essentially the same questions that were given during the debate,” as well as assurances that Trump would be “fact-checked” and she would not.

… there’s something else I took away from this—and it’s showing on the screen just to the side of me here. One thing I really noticed throughout was the faces that Harris was making—very condescending, very mocking, very childish, actually. I think that’s the one thing I remember more than anything about the debate.
Now, I think Trump did a very good job, even though he didn’t make the points I thought he could have, like showing how she flip-flopped. He hit hard on the border and the economy, and I think that may have a lasting impact.
What’s showing up in the focus groups—ones I’ve seen not by right-wing groups, but CNN, Reuters, NBC—there seems to be a disconnect between who they think won the debate and how they’re reacting substantively.

And while the moderators asked about topics that don’t matter to Normie-America, normies are STILL concerned about the economy.
Kamala didn’t address the economy. During Reuters focus groups of undecided voters, SIXTY PERCENT moved to Trump as a result.
Out of their focus group of ten people, six saw nothing from Kamala to assure them that the next four years would be any different from the last four. It echoed what we heard from a CNN group:
My life was better when Trump was in office. The economy was better. Inflation was lower. Things were better overall. And now, with Kamala’s administration, things haven’t been so fantastic. She’s saying she can fix the problems that her administration has caused, but I don’t know if I can afford to take that risk.
Five said they found Harris vague on how she would improve the U.S. economy and deal with the high cost of living. It remains THE top concern for voters.
Four of those six said she didn’t convince them she would be any different than Joe Biden.

Vice President Kamala Harris — who has sat for just one pre-taped, 18-minute interview since becoming the de-facto Democratic presidential nominee in July — intends on doing a number of local and National interviews in the coming weeks, according to a campaign memo reported on by the New York Times.
While Harris has avoided both sit-down interviews and press conferences over the last 50 days, the campaign appears to be switching up its strategy after Tuesday night’s presidential debate. While a number of outlets have declared Harris the winner through polls and focus groups, a number of outlets found pro-Trump results as well, including Reuters and the New York Times.
A majority of polls and focus groups of undecided voters and independents have also produced positive results for the former president, as both key demographics preferred Trump’s answers on key issues like the economy and illegal immigration.

Trump pollsters Tony Fabrizio and Travis Tunis say that, according to their data from the top seven battleground states, the answer is no. “We found that despite the best efforts of Kamala Harris and [the] media to portray the debate as some kind of overwhelming win for her, voters did not see it this way as support for her remained flat,” they wrote in a memo released on Thursday. “The only change we saw was a 2-point bump for President Trump in both ballot configurations.”
“In our post-debate data, President Trump leads Vice President Harris by 2-points, 48% – 46%, and in the head-to-head ballot, he is up 3-points, 50% – 47%,” Fabrizio and Tunis continued. “Clearly, target state voters were not impressed by Kamala Harris’ empty platitudes and while the media would have people believe she is cruising to victory, this couldn’t be farther from the truth.” Their predebate numbers, they said, showed the two candidates tied.
Kamala Harris Is Facing Severe Deficits Among Core Democratic Voter Groups– townhall.com Source Link Excerpt:
Kamala Harris wants another debate, whereas Trump said, ‘No mas.’ Some commented on how this was a tactical blunder for Trump—he should have demanded a debate on Fox News and waited for Harris to reject it. Whatever the case, Harris and her allies in the media are likely to waste a lot of time calling Trump a coward. Let them. Ms. Harris has severe deficits among crucial Democratic Party voter groups that spell disaster with less than 60 days from Election Day.
Harris is running behind Joe Biden’s numbers regarding black and Jewish voters. Right now, Trump is projected to win 18 percent of the black vote, the largest share for a Republican since Richard Nixon in 1972. As for Jewish voters, she’s gearing to earn the lowest share for any Democrat since Michael Dukakis.
RealClear Quick Take – Episode 12
Black Americans comprise roughly 13% of the electorate, and their support has been crucial to the Democratic Party for decades. Recent polls suggest they may not be as excited for Kamala Harris.
Jewish Americans have long represented a faithful Democratic voting bloc, and the progressive wing’s unabashed antagonism toward Israel hasn’t changed that.
A Pew Research poll on the preferences of U.S. religious voters released this week found that 65% of Jewish respondents plan to vote for Vice President Kamala Harris, while 34% back former President Donald Trump in the Nov. 5 presidential election.

Two polling groups where were in the top tier of getting poll predictions right in 2016 and 2020 say that Kamala Harris has already peaked and that Donald Trump is the favorite to win the 2024 presidential election.
The New York Post is reporting that InsiderAdvantage and Trafalgar polling have surveyed seven battleground states and predicted the Trump would end up with 296 electoral votes as things stand now. Only 270 electoral votes are needed to win the White House.
“Matt Towery of Georgia-based InsiderAdvantage found Trump ahead in Arizona, Nevada and North Carolina (and down by 0.4% only in Georgia),” the Post reported.
“He noted that both he and Robert Calahy of Trafalgar (which handled Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Michigan) were both in the top 3 of pollsters in the ‘16 and ‘20 cycles because their methodology allows them to “pick up some Trump vote that some of the other pollsters might not be able to get,” the paper continued.
Trump, Harris Neck and Neck in Key Swing States as Campaigns Ramp Up: Poll – freebeacon.com
Former president Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are locked in a razor-thin race for the White House in six key battleground states, according to a CNN poll released Wednesday.
In Georgia and Nevada, 48 percent of likely voters support Harris while 47 percent back Trump, and in must-win Pennsylvania, the candidates are tied at 47 percent, according to the poll conducted from Aug. 23 to Aug. 29. Harris leads Trump by 6 points in Wisconsin and by 5 points in Michigan while Trump is ahead in Arizona, 49 percent to Harris’s 44 percent, all barely outside the survey’s 4.9 percent margin of error.
The new polling comes as the candidates gear up for the final sprint to Nov. 5. With nine weeks until Election Day, both campaigns are focusing their efforts on these key swing states.
Over the holiday weekend, Harris campaigned in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania, also known as the three “blue wall” states, and is set to deliver an economy-focused campaign speech in New Hampshire on Wednesday afternoon. Her GOP counterpart is also campaigning in the toss-up battleground states, joining in a Fox News town hall event in Pennsylvania Wednesday evening and hosting events in Wisconsin and Arizona later this week.
Nate Silver and Others Present Damning Evidence That Kamala Harris’ Candidacy Has Stalled – townhall.com
… With the Democratic convention out of the way, Harris saw no bump. The race is razor-thin, drastically different from when Biden started running away from Donald Trump. In the states that matter, it’s not looking too hot, so the former president notched a few more points ahead of Harris in Nate Silver’s Electoral College probability model. Trump has a 58 percent chance of clinching 270 votes—it was 56 percent earlier this week—and winning the election, with an 80 percent probability of winning a state carried by Biden in 2020.
If it’s Pennsylvania, it’s the ballgame. Silver noted that Harris hasn’t had a lot of good polling. He’d also be more bullish on her candidacy if she didn’t rehire all of Biden’s operatives. Last, Pennsylvania and now Michigan “has become something of an issue for Harris.”
I think I’d buy the bull case for Harris a bit more if she hadn’t rehired so many of the Biden people.
President Donald Trump has overtaken Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris in Michigan, a recent poll shows.
Although the lead is small, it represents a crack in the so-called “blue wall” that is vital for Harris to win, Breitbart reported.
The WDIV/Detroit News poll revealed that 43.5% of likely voters supported Harris over 44.7% of likely voters who said they’d vote for Trump.
The survey was taken between August 26 and 29, just days after the Democratic National Convention.
Moreover, 4.7% of voters said they supported Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., who the Associated Press noted dropped out of the race and endorsed Trump on August 23, just days before the survey began.
Another 4.8% were undecided, while 2.3% supported an unnamed third-party candidate.

A new poll has found that a majority of men support Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election, while a majority of women support Kamala Harris. This is a shift from polling done before the Democratic National Convention, where Harris held a slight lead among both demographics.
The ABC News/Ipsos poll, released on Sunday, found that 51 percent of American men support, while 46 percent of men said they would vote for Harris. Among women, 54 percent said they support Harris, while 41 percent said they would vote for Trump.
Pre-Democratic National Convention, Harris held a six-point lead over Trump among women (51-45 percent) and a three-point lead among men over Trump (49-46 percent).
Among the demographics leading this change are white men and women. Among white women, Trump saw a 13-point lead over Harris pre-convention. Post-DNC, however, Trump is now holding a 2-point lead over Harris. And among white men, Trump went from holding a 13-point lead over Harris to a 21-point lead post-DNC.

Democrats in the state have maintained they can flip the Senate seat, but a report from the Associated Press shows they have not invested in the campaign as bullishly.
Using data from AdImpact, the report shows Republicans and aligned groups have spent $12.7 million on advertisement reservations through Election Day, while Democrats and aligned groups have only spent $3.2 million on ad reservations for the Senate race as of Wednesday. While spending on advertisements could increase, the significant GOP advantage in spending is unlike most Senate races considered battlegrounds.

Kamala Harris Raised More Than Twice As Much Money As Trump In August – politicususa.com
Donald Trump is being buried under a blue wave of donor money as VP Kamala Harris more than doubled Trump’s fundraising total in August.

The whopping fundraising numbers for Harris come just after the Trump campaign reported it and related entities raised $130 million in the month of August, with nearly $300 million cash on hand. Trump’s campaign reported that 98% of the month’s donations came in at less than $200.
Kamala Harris raised as much money in August as Donald Trump has cash on hand for his entire campaign. Trump’s fundraising slowed from July to August, while Harris maintained the same pace or growth.

Silicon Valley titans want deregulation and a place for AI and exploratory technologies to thrive. Whether that’s an entirely positive or negative direction for the right to head in the future remains an open debate, but the point is that the tech shift to Trump isn’t just about emotions; it’s about business.

The New York Times spearheaded the “Russia collusion” false narrative from its inception, which is why it is surprising to see it flirting with the truth when it comes to Iran’s attempts to sway American voters.
Iran has long carried out clandestine information operations against its adversaries, especially Israel, Saudi Arabia and the United States, but until now most of its activities were conducted under the shadow of similar campaigns by Russia and China. Its latest propaganda and disinformation efforts have grown more brazen, more varied and more ambitious, according to the U.S. government, company officials and Iran experts.
Iran’s efforts appear intended to undermine former President Donald J. Kamala Harris Refuses to Reveal Her ‘Current Position’ on Reparations – slaynews.com
The campaign for Democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris is refusing to reveal the vice president’s “current position” regarding slavery reparations.
The statement from the Harris campaign has provoked mockery on social media over the Democrat candidate’s flip-flopping and lack of transparency.
Harris’s “position,” or lack thereof, was highlighted Wednesday by National Republican Senatorial Committee official Philip Letsou.
In a post on X, Letsou shared a screenshot from Politico’s “Playbook” newsletter.
The radical left is pressuring its ally, Vice President Kamala Harris, to continue to support the controversial idea of reparations for black Americans.
Harris remained silent on Monday about whether or not she supports a newly proposed package of reparations bills in California. The Harris campaign ignored Breitbart News’s request for comment and the Washington Post’s multiple requests for comment on her current position on reparations.
Though 68 percent of Americans oppose reparations according to a Pew Research poll in 2022, Harris pledged several times to force taxpayers to pay reparations for descendants of Africans enslaved.
“I think there needs to be some form of reparations and we can discuss what that is,” Harris told The Root in 2019 when asked if “black people should get reparations.”

Kamala Harris Hires Top Socialist Strategist to Advise Campaign – slaynews.com
Let’s take it slow here. It’s an allegation that caught the eye of RealClearPolitics’ Tom Bevan, who rightly said that if this is true, CNN has a significant scandal on its hands. It wouldn’t be the first time a network has done this—this type of stuff goes back to when NBC was busted for chopping up the 911 call from George Zimmerman to smear him as a racist. Yet, Zimmerman wasn’t a presidential candidate. If true, the anti-Trump network took extreme measures to ensure Ms. Harris’ unelectable policy positions were snuffed out of their sit-down with her.
It was only 18 minutes, but it was a trainwreck. It was word salad, drowned in a dressing of unrepentance. Ms. Harris knew something was wrong with Mr. Biden. With the president no longer running for reelection, reports and stories from various American and European officials came out of the woodwork regarding how everyone saw how frail and weak Biden was becoming, likening it to how some members were treating their elderly parents. Harris showed zero regrets for being involved in the White House cover-up that shielded some from the president’s declining health. I say some because half the country already knew this guy was cooked.
Here’s the problem: it’s based on one tweet from someone who claims to know CNN’s managing editor. The post alleges that the interview was 41 minutes long and included topics like fracking and the Green New Deal. The Harris camp allegedly objected to half of the interview, which was pre-taped.
On the anniversary of the attack that left 13 U.S. service members dead during Joe Biden’s botched military withdrawal from Afghanistan, Donald Trump paid a respectful visit to Arlington National Cemetery to mark the somber occasion.
Neither Joe Biden nor Kamala Harris bothered to make an appearance, but that did not stop the latter from attacking Trump on social media for allegedly using the event for political gain.
As Vice President, I have had the privilege of visiting Arlington National Cemetery several times. It is a solemn place; a place where we come together to honor American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service of this nation.
Almost immediately, individuals who lost loved ones in service to this country began speaking out against Harris’ comment and in support of Trump, as the Daily Caller reported:

Kamala Harris has spoken out about Wednesday morning’s shooting at a Georgia high school, which left four students dead and several injured.
The Democratic presidential nominee took the stage during a scheduled rally in North Hampton, New Hampshire, and began her remarks by expressing her condolences to those impacted by the tragedy, and emphasizing the need for gun violence reform in the country.
Though neither the suspect nor the four victims’ names have been shared, it has been reported by several outlets that the shooter is a 14-year-old male, however it has not yet been disclosed whether he is a student of the school, Apalachee High School, in Winder.
While the focus of Harris’ rally in New Hampshire was the economy, she began her speech by addressing the “tragic shooting,” acknowledging that authorities were still in the process of gathering information.
“Our hearts are with all the students and the teachers and their families of course, and we are grateful to the first responders and law enforcement that were on the scene,” she said, before declaring: “This is just a senseless tragedy, on top of so many senseless tragedies, and it is outrageous that everyday in our country in the United States of America, that parents have to send their children to school worried about whether or not their child will come home alive.”

The subpoena argues that information provided by the Minnesota Department of Education regarding its oversight of the federal child nutrition programs was “insufficient” in addressing the committee’s concerns over how people from the nonprofit Feeding Our Future were able to defraud the U.S. Department of Agriculture and misuse more than $250 million in funds.
“As the chief executive and the highest ranking official in the state of Minnesota, you are
responsible for the MDE and its administration of” the federal child nutrition program, Chairwoman Virginia Foxx (R-NC) wrote in a letter to Walz. “Statements in the press by you and your representatives indicate that you and other executive officers were involved, or had knowledge of, MDE’s administration of the FCNP and responsibilities and actions regarding the massive fraud.”
“The Committee must now compel the production of responsive documents that will show the extent of the actions taken by you and your administration relating to MDE’s administration of the FCNP and the extent of your responsibilities and actions addressing the massive fraud that resulted in the abuse of taxpayer dollars intended for hungry children,” Foxx continued.

“That’s cash in your pocket for starting the year off right by protecting your child from COVID.”
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz offered parents a cash reward to encourage their children to get vaccinated against COVID-19, which was available to children as young as five at the time. The vaccine incentive titled “Kids Deserve a Shot” was announced by Walz in Jan. 2022 offered $200 to families who got their children between the ages of 5 and 11 “fully vaccinated.”
Walz, the Democratic vice presidential nominee, wrote on X at the time: “Big news: Starting this month, families who get their 5- to 11-year-olds vaccinated can get $200! That’s cash in your pocket for starting the year off right by protecting your child from COVID.”
Eligibility was contingent upon parents or guardians providing documentation that their children received both shots of the vaccination between Jan. 1 and Feb. 28, 2022. Walz made the pitch by citing a surge in the “Omicron” variant at the time.
“As Omicron surges across our nation, we’re continuing to use every resource we have to keep our families safe and healthy,” he wrote in a statement. “There’s a lot of highly transmissible virus circulating in our communities, but getting our children 5-11 years old vaccinated gives them critical protection against severe illness and hospitalization from COVID-19 and helps keep them in school.”

Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is slurping up milkshakes and eating pork chops on a stick at the state fair this weekend. Not many outlets will cover this heinous exchange with the press at the event, where Walz refused to answer a question about how he felt about the six hostages whose bodies were found by Israeli forces in Gaza over the weekend. Walz listened to the question and then walked away.
REPORTER: “What’s your reaction to the 6 hostages being found dead in Gaza?”
For Democrats who pined for Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, this is a moment for you, though I don’t think Donald Trump takes this state despite coming within a hair of it in 2016. New surveys show the Harris-Walz ticket didn’t get a bump from their convention. Mr. Walz could be hurting Ms. Harris in his home state, where the vice president had a healthy 10-point lead over Mr. Trump. It’s now 48-43 (via NY Post):
Kamala Harris’ bet on Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz has actually lost her ground in his home state.
That’s the takeaway from new polling of 635 Likely Voters from Minnesota’s KSTP, which found that the Democratic presidential nominee’s advantage over Donald Trump has been cut in half since she picked Walz as her running mate last month and showcased the ticket at the Democratic National Convention.
Harris now leads Trump 48% to 43%, a significant decline for her from the previous survey that showed her up 50% to 40%.

This is particularly remarkable given that this was a poll that included more Democrats than Republican respondents — with Dems making up 40% of the sample, Republicans 35%, and independents the remainder.
Republicans favored to regain Senate as key race shifts in GOP’s favor – nypost Source Link Excerpt:
Republicans are in pole position to take back the Senate majority for the first time in four years after a widely respected analysis shifted a key race toward the GOP candidate Thursday.
The nonpartisan Cook Political Report assessed the Montana contest between incumbent Democrat Jon Tester and challenger Tim Sheehy as “lean Republican.”
If all three races break the Republicans’ way, the GOP would begin the 119th Congress with 53 members of the upper chamber, providing a key check on Democrats should Kamala Harris win the White House and her party regain the House.
Montana Senate race shifts toward GOP, Cook Political Report says – Axios Source Link Excerpt:
Republican Tim Sheehy is now favored to win Montana’s Senate race, according to a Thursday analysis from Cook Political Report.
Why it matters: The GOP will likely gain control of the Senate if incumbent Democratic Sen. Jon Tester loses the seat.
Cook Political Report changed its race rating from “toss-up” to “leans Republican.”
The Senate is currently made up of 48 Democrats, 49 Republicans and 3 independents. However, the independent Senators caucus with Democrats to give them a 51-49 majority.
State of play: Protecting Tester’s seat is a top goal for Democrats, but Sheehy’s polling has been strong.
“Republicans are now an even heavier favorite to win back control of the Senate, regardless of the result at the top of the ticket,” Cook Political Report’s Jessica Taylor said in an analysis on Thursday.
Vice President Kamala Harris’s sudden entry into the presidential election has upended the electoral math to reach the White House, growing her levels of support above those of President Joe Biden in some polls while dampening it in others. All signs point to Pennsylvania being the pivotal battleground that may determine the election, and a new poll in the state’s U.S. Senate race indicates that Republicans are gaining traction.
Sen. Bob Casey (D-PA), who is seeking his fourth six-year term, faces a pugnacious challenger in Dave McCormick, a businessman and former U.S. Treasury undersecretary for international affairs. In a notable break from previous polls, McCormick, 59, is now tied with the 64-year-old incumbent, according to a survey from CNN and SSRS. Nearly 800 likely voters were asked to choose between the who men, each of whom drew 46%. Another poll by Wick, also conducted during the final week of August, gave Sen. Casey a 2% lead, the smallest on record for the past several months, according to FiveThirtyEight.
Democrat Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) does not believe there is an underlying issue in the country of illegal immigrants voting, making the remark when asked about the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act, which would provide safeguards to ensure non-citizens are not voting in federal elections.
The SAVE Act is back on the scene following chatter of attaching it to a continuing resolution. While it is already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections, conservatives say the bill is necessary as there are no concrete safeguards to check it.
The House in the Balance? Alaska’s At-Large Race Is Now Neck-and-Neck – RedState– redstate.com Source Link Excerpt:
While Alaska’s issues are frequently of concern primarily to Alaskans, in 2024, our at-large House of Representatives election is drawing some significant national attention. Why is this? Partly because the balance of the House of Representatives is at stake and that might come down to a few seats. It’s also partly due to the complications ranked-choice voting (RCV) has introduced – and how both parties here in the Great Land are dealing with it.
Cook Political Report, which analyzes races across the country, has shifted the Alaska U.S. House race from the “Lean Democrat” category to “Toss Up,” in the latest ranking.
The change explains why Democrats, who have their own polling, are now suing the state Division of Elections to save the Rep. Mary Peltola, who is facing Republican Nick Begich in the general election, in her reelection bid.
Dem Senate Candidate Finally Speaks Out Against China-Linked Battery Maker After Months Of Attacks From GOP– americanactionnews.com Source Link
Excerpt:
Democratic Michigan Rep. Elissa Slotkin came out against a Chinese Communist Party (CCP)-linked company during a campaign rally this week, after enduring months of criticism from Republicans over the matter.
Slotkin, currently running for Senate in the state, had previously not publicly opposed a plan by Gotion High-Tech — a subsidiary of the Chinese-owned firm Gotion Inc. — to build a massive battery plant in Michigan, according to Politico Pro. Slotkin had fallen under criticism from Republican lawmakers and organizations who claimed she had signed a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) on discussing Gotion’s projects.
“To me, until there’s a national security vetting, I don’t love the idea of moving forward on any project or any sale of farmland [to a Chinese-based entity],” Slotkin told reporters following a campaign event in southern Michigan this week, according to Politico Pro. “I believe that we need to not just think about economic [implications], but also about the national security implications of Chinese-affiliated companies.”
Kamala Harris’ Lead Vanishes, Hit Hard by New Polls as Trump’s Momentum Takes Over
New polling shows that Vice President Kamala Harris’ slight lead over former President Donald Trump in battleground states has evaporated, despite nearly a solid month of positive media coverage since entering the race.
Previous polling by the Cook Political Report published last week had Harris ahead of Trump in Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin, according to Axios.
Similarly a New York Times/Siena College poll, also released last week, found Harris with a slight lead in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
However, a newer survey conducted by Navigator Research published Tuesday shows the race is essentially tied across Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Broken down individually, Trump is ahead of Harris by one percentage point in Arizona (46 to 45 percent) and two points in Pennsylvania (46 to 44 percent), while the other three states are tied.
Trump Says He Would Be Open To A Cabinet Position For RFK Jr. Amidst Endorsement Rumors
Former President Donald Trump told reporters that he would be open to offering independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a spot in his cabinet if he suspends his campaign and endorses the former president.
“I like him, I respect him,” Trump told CNN’s Kristen Holmes during a campaign stop in Michigan.
“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” the Republican presidential nominee added. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”
Trump’s comments come after Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, revealed during a podcast appearance Tuesday that Kennedy is considering an exit. The campaign is currently debating whether to stay in the race, or suspend operations and endorse former President Trump.
“There’s two options that we’re looking at,” Shanahan said. One option would involve staying in the race in order to lay the groundwork for another bid in 2028, “or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” Shanahan explained.
Georgia Election Board Puts Dent in Democrat Plans to Cheat in Elections
The Georgia State Election Board has implemented a reform that will make it a little bit harder for Democrats to cheat in this year’s elections.
The SEB adopted a new rule that would limit the number of votes in each district to the number of actually registered voters that area has in the system. So, the number of ballots would have to be the same or fewer than the number of voters.
The rule ensures that counties comply with Georgia state code. It comes after Fulton County was found to have likely scanned thousands of ballots twice in a recount of the 2020 election.
“The purpose of the rule is to ensure that county superintendents and boards of elections follow the required procedures and can uniformly, properly, and lawfully fulfill their duties, and reconcile the number of ballots to the number of voters so that certification of election results accurately reflects the will of the voters in every county,” the rule reads.
“The rule is built on basic, kindergarten math,” Election Integrity Network Founder Cleta Mitchell said Monday. “Count the number of voters, confirm that the number of voters match the number of ballots. Those numbers should match and should be the same as the number of votes tabulated. The duty for election officials to certify CORRECT results is required under the statute. The rule just makes sure it happens in every county.”
Lawfare Assassin Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan District Attorney, has announced his office’s intentions to not oppose any delay requests in President Donald Trump’s sentencing hearing, which comes after he was “convicted” of lawfare crimes against the Democrat Party. Bragg wrote “The People defer to the Court on the appropriate post-trial schedule that allows for adequate time to adjudicate defendant’s [presidential immunity] motion while also pronouncing sentence ‘without unreasonable delay,’”
After securing a criminal conviction against former President Donald Trump, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg may now be running cover for Democrats who don’t want to see the Republican jailed before Election Day.
In a filing submitted on Friday, the progressive prosecutor said his office will not oppose a motion by Trump’s attorneys to delay a previously scheduled sentencing hearing on September 18th. The request came following a landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling granting presidents absolute immunity from official acts performed in office which they argue could be construed to include actions around the hush money payment paid to adult film star Stormy Daniels. In June President Trump was found guilty of felony charges that he orchestrated the payments to assist his 2016 presidential campaign and then ordered the misclassification of the payments on business records. Prosecutors with his office now tell Judge Juan Merchan that discretion around a sentence, which could include jail time, will not include a recommendation from their office.
“The People defer to the Court on the appropriate post-trial schedule that allows for adequate time to adjudicate defendant’s [presidential immunity] motion while also pronouncing sentence ‘without unreasonable delay,’” prosecutors wrote, according to the Washington Examiner.
The notoriously anti-American 9th circuit court of appeals ruled that asking Americans to provide proof of citizenship to vote is inconvenient to the DNC-CCP’s plans to overthrow the republic using non-American votes. At least that’s the interpretation by many critics. The judges ruled because there’s no requirement in Federal laws that Americans provide proof of citizenship that states can’t make the requirement for themselves.
The judges are arguing from silence (a logical fallacy that assumes silence is the same as prohibition or permission). They assume it could EVER be constitutional for the Federal government to write a law preventing states from requiring citizens to prove they ARE citizens before they vote. Of course, that’s not remotely the case, so it goes without saying the two judges who defied basic American jurisprudence voted not for the Constitution, but for the DNC-CCP.
Arizonans who lack proof of citizenship can again sign up to vote in this year’s presidential and congressional races.
The action comes after two of three judges on a panel of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals late Thursday overturned a ruling to the contrary by a different three-judge panel whose duty it is to rule on pending motions.
The majority of this panel — the one actually assigned to hear the case — concluded the other judges should never have made such a radical change in voting registration rules so soon before the election, saying it would cause chaos.
Thursday’s ruling restored an order issued last year by U.S. District Court Judge Susan Bolton who had concluded that federal law specifically allowed people to register to vote in federal elections without the same kind of proof that Arizona requires of those wanting to cast ballots in state or local elections.
The ruling provoked an angry reaction from Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen who said it is just another example of “the radical 9th Circuit.”
“They routinely engage in judicial warfare to carry out their extremist liberal agenda that’s contrary to the laws our citizens elected us to implement,” said the Gilbert Republican, who vowed to seek immediate review by the U.S. Supreme Court ahead of the November election.
A similar reaction came from Scot Mussi, president of the Arizona Free Enterprise Club, which crafted the 2022 law at issue. He called it “a travesty of law” and “poorly reasoned.”
If you take the counsel of President Joe Biden and U.S. Representative Jamie Raskin (D-MD), you would have to believe that if Donald Trump wins the election, the Democrats will not let him take power, or if Harris wins, the Trump supporters are going to start a civil war.
Joe Biden suggested civil war if Trump loses, while Raskin suggested civil war should Trump lose. Raskin’s was worse in that he telegraphed, months before the general election, that the Democrats will ONLY honor the result of the Presidential election if the Democrat wins, yet he continues to walk free despite committing an overt act of treason and voter intimidation, to start.
Biden ‘not confident’ of peaceful transition of power in US
US President Joe Biden took a swipe at Republican nominee Donald Trump in his first interview since dropping out of the race
US President Joe Biden has said he doubts that power will be transferred peacefully in January 2025, after the November presidential election, whether it is won by a Democrat or Republican.
Biden made the statement to CBS News on Wednesday in his first interview since dropping out of the race in July, answering the journalist’s question on whether he thought there would be a peaceful transfer of power.
“If Trump wins, no I’m not confident at all. If Trump loses, I’m not confident at all,” Biden replied.
The US president lamented that the public was not taking Trump’s past comments about a “bloodbath” seriously.
“He means what he says. We don’t take him seriously. He means it. All the stuff about ‘If we lose, there’ll be a bloodbath, it’ll have been a stolen election,’” he said, adding that “you can’t love your country only when you win.”
Rep. Jamie Raskin Predicted ‘Civil War Conditions’ To Come
If you listen to U.S. Rep. Jamie Raskin, D-Md., the real insurrection will be led by Democrats and it will begin on Jan. 6, 2025 — should the American people dare to elect former President Donald Trump president again.
In a video clip making the rounds Monday on social media, the far left firebrand laments what he characterizes as a lazy U.S. Supreme Court interfering with the Democratic Party’s plan to interfere with the 2024 election.
“And so [the court] want to kick it to Congress, so it’s going to be up to us on Jan. 6, 2025 to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he’s disqualified,” Raskin said in a panel discussion on Feb. 17, as the Supreme Court was mulling the constitutionality of the leftist Colorado secretary of state’s use of Section 3 of the 14th Amendment to remove Trump from the state’s presidential primary ballot.
“And then we need bodyguards for everybody and civil war conditions all because nine justices — not all of them, but these justices who have not many cases to look at every year, not much work to do, have a huge staff, great protection — simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great 14th Amendment means,” Raskin declared at a Washington, D.C. bookstore gathering of self-important leftists.
Raskin Caught On Tape Explaining Democrats’ SHOCKING Plot To Keep Trump Out Of Office
Congressman Jamie Raskin has (D-MD) been caught on tape detailing a controversial plan to prevent former President Donald Trump from assuming the presidency, even if he is selected by American voters. The video captured Raskin discussing what he sees as a constitutional mechanism to disqualify Trump.
Raskin specifically referenced Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, expressing a chilling determination to use Congress as a barrier against Trump’s reinstatement. “What can be put into the Constitution can slip away from you very quickly. And the greatest example going on right now before our very eyes is Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which they’re just disappearing with a magic wand, as if it doesn’t exist, even though it could not be clearer what it’s stating,” Raskin said.
“They want to kick it to Congress. So it’s going to be up to us on January 6, 2025, to tell the rampaging Trump mobs that he’s disqualified and then we need bodyguards.”
Raskin went on to criticize the Supreme Court Justices for their alleged reluctance to interpret the 14th Amendment as he believes they should. “For everybody in civil war conditions all because the nine justices, not all of them, but these justices who have not many cases to look at every year, not that much work to do, a huge staff, great protection, simply do not want to do their job and interpret what the great 14th amendment means,” he said.
Vice President Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her VP pick. Walz was selected over PA Governor Josh Shapiro, who is Jewish, to appease the antisemitic wing of the Democrat party. Walz pretended to serve in combat when he didn’t, passed laws that would kidnap children from parents who refuse to allow them to get castrated by the state in the name of trans fascism, and passed a law allowing illegal aliens to get drivers’ licenses.
He supports post-birth abortion, zero-carbon life-destroying policies, reparations for blacks, anti-white racist policies in government and education, and he delivers a hateful anti-Israel message in support of the bloodthirsty death cult Hamas. His wife reveled in the burning of Minnesota cities under her husband’s watch thanks to the George Floyd hoax, a hoax Tim Walz perpetuated every day.
PITTSBURGH — Vice President Kamala Harris’s pick of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN), the two-term governor of Minnesota, was a shot across the bow that this election cycle is going to be a get-out-the-base election rather than the coalition builder Democrats would have enjoyed if she had chosen Gov. Josh Shapiro (D-PA) as her running mate.
Mike Mikus, a Pennsylvania-based Democratic strategist, said this race will look very similar to the election cycle we saw with former President Barack Obama’s 2012 reelection race rather than his 2008 race. In 2008, Obama ran an aspirational race with a message of “Hope and Change” that attracted a sizable amount of working-class “New Deal Democrats” to his coalition; in 2012, he shed those voters in favor of delivering the new base of Democrats called the ascendant coalition that had a heavy focus on minorities, suburban college-educated women, and young people.
As a result of that pitch to the leftward party “base,” Obama became the first president since Franklin Roosevelt to lose voters in his reelection while still winning overall — but as a unique candidate, he was able to pull that base election off.
The next Democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton in 2016, was not successful with that shift left. The former first lady, who was less likable and trusted than Obama, fell short because many of those legacy New Deal Democrats had now folded long-term into the Republican Party. Joe Biden was able to bring just enough of them back in 2020, in large part because of the pandemic, but polling leading up to this cycle before the president dropped out of the running in July showed these voters’ disappointment in his left-wing governance.
This has already been a weird election cycle, and no, I’m not talking about anything JD Vance said about cat ladies. It’s the Democrats that are behaving strangely, even for them – and given that they have been maintaining a Weekend at Bernie’s presidency for almost four years, keeping befuddled old Joe Biden in place, insisting he was “sharp as a tack” and “on his game” until they couldn’t hide the fact any longer that His Dessicatedness has lost it. So now they have anointed Joe’s life insurance policy, Kamala Harris, Queen of the Word Salad. And as RedState informed you, she has picked Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her VP.
Monday, I wrote an article evaluating Kamala Harris’s possible Veep picks. Regarding Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, in particular, I wrote:
Governor Tim Walz: It won’t be Walz. He’s from a reliably blue state and has all the charisma of a lemon peel; he brings literally nothing to the campaign.
I stand by that statement – especially the lemon peel part. So why did Kamala Harris pick the pale, pasty-white, far-left Governor of Minnesota, a state that was sure to go to the Democrats in the Electoral College in any case? And why did Eric “Fast and Furious” Holder, who was in charge of vetting candidates for her, recommend this guy?
Battle of the Midwest running mates: Tim Walz vs. JD Vance
Vice President Kamala Harris’s selection of Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) as her running mate on Tuesday sets up a Midwestern showdown against Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH), former President Donald Trump’s running mate.
Democrats were already rallying around Walz to join the Harris ticket, given his upbeat personality during media interviews as he attacked Trump, Vance, and the rest of the GOP as “weird,” a phrase that is relatable to non-politicos.
“There’s a lot of folks excited about him. I think he’s just a good-natured human being, and I think the party is kind of cherishing that,” said Michael Ceraso, a Democratic strategist. “And I would argue J.D. does come off more contrarian, way more contrarian than Gov. Walz.”
Walz’s Midwestern background has already prompted Democrats to claim he can nullify Vance’s benefits to the Trump campaign as an Ohio legislator who wrote about Appalachia in his book Hillbilly Elegy.
“This is really the guy that J.D. Vance is pretending to be. This is a guy from small-town America who has played by the rules,” Claire McCaskill, former Missouri senator, told MSNBC. “He’s going to be able to go after J.D. Vance and Donald Trump in a way that is really relatable and is kind of in sync with the Kamala Harris campaign.”
Are Most Americans Familiar With Gov. Tim Walz? Here’s What a New Poll Shows
On Tuesday, Vice President Kamala Harris announced that radical left-wing Gov. Tim Walz of Minnesota would be her running mate in the 2024 presidential election.
As Townhall covered, Walz supports abortion up til birth, transgender surgeries for children, socialism, among other things. When the Black Lives Matter militants rioted in his cities over George Floyd’s death, Walz waited days to call in the National Guard. After the riots, Walz admitted that he failed at handling the riots.
A new poll published Tuesday asked respondents if they were familiar with Walz and his record.
The new NPR/PBS News, Marist National poll reviewed by The Hill found that over 70 percent of respondents said that they did not know enough about Walz to have an opinion on him.
In the findings, 71 percent did not know enough about Walz to form an opinion on him. On the contrary, 17 percent of respondents had a favorable opinion of him and 12 percent of respondents viewed him unfavorably.
The same survey found that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shaprio and Arizona Sen. Mark Kelly are better known among respondents.
VP Pick Tim Walz Accused of ‘Stolen Valor’ by Former Military Colleagues: ‘He Abandoned Us’
Kamala Harris’ vice presidential pick, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, has come under fire from former military colleagues for allegedly ducking out on a deployment to Iraq in 2005.
Walz, who was just announced Tuesday as Harris’ running mate, is already being touted by liberal media outlets, including Newsweek, as “the longest-serving military veteran to be a vice presidential nominee.”
The 60-year-old served 24 years in the Army National Guard, where he reached the rank of command sergeant major.
The Newsweek account included praise from retired Army Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling, who wrote on X that those who reach that rank “know what they’re doing.”
“They uphold standards. They speak their minds to all ranks (private to generals). They’re not afraid of getting bad news because they know how to fix things when they go wrong …
Walz apparently fudged details of service in Army National Guard, prompting accusations of ‘stolen valor’
Tim Walz, the far-left Democrat governor of Minnesota who was just selected to be border czar Kamala Harris’ running mate in 2024, apparently misrepresented details regarding his re-enlistment in the Army National Guard, prompting at least one of his former colleagues in Southern Minnesota’s First Battalion-125th Field Artillery to accuse him of engaging in “stolen valor.”
Now 60, Walz joined the Army National Guard more than 40 years ago, when he was 17 years old. He then put in 20 years of service and retired.
‘What the hell kind of leadership is that?’
Shortly after his retirement, the terrorist attacks of September 11 happened, and Walz re-enlisted just weeks later. In April 2005, he was promoted to the rank of command sergeant major before retiring again the following month and launching an ultimately successful campaign for Congress.
That’s when aspects of his story become dicey.
For one thing, sometime in early 2005, Walz and other members of his battalion received word that they would be deployed to Iraq soon. Walz, the highest noncommissioned officer in the unit, then abruptly retired in May, leaving the unit without a designated leader.
Tim Walz ‘Embellished’ His Military Record, Abandoned His Battalion, Guardsmen Say
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz is an unknown, but the media is already referring to him as “America’s dad.” How sweet. But the picture most of the media is drawing of Walz does not match the opinion of some soldiers in his National Guard command. They think he embellished his career with the Guard and “slithered out the door” before his unit was deployed to Iraq.
“On May 16th, 2005, [Walz] quit, betraying his country, leaving the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion and its Soldiers hanging; without its senior Non-Commissioned Officer, as the battalion prepared for war,” retired Command Sergeants Major Thomas Behrends and Paul Herr wrote on Facebook in 2018. Walz was preparing for his first congressional campaign in 2005 when he retired.
Herr and Behrends say Walz promised his unit he would join them in Iraq before backing out. The two retired command sergeants say that Walz could have asked the Pentagon for permission to run for office while on active duty. Instead, he chose to quit.
Van Jones Says Harris Picked Walz To Appease ‘Anti-Jewish Bigots,’ Caving to ‘Darker Parts in the Party’
Democratic strategist Van Jones on Tuesday said Vice President Kamala Harris chose Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate to appease “anti-Jewish bigots” and the “darker parts” in the Democratic Party.
“You can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot, but there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there. And there has to be conversations about how much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts in the party,” Jones said during a CNN interview Tuesday, shortly after Harris announced Walz will join her on the Democratic ticket.
Josh Shapiro, governor of key swing state Pennsylvania, had been widely seen as the favorite to become the Democratic VP candidate but came under scrutiny by progressive Democrats for his Jewish background and support for Israel in the war against Hamas.
Jones said that picking Walz over Shapiro helps Harris reach many young Democrats, especially Muslims and Arabs, who “have not felt seen by the Biden administration” and called the president “Genocide Joe” for providing military support to Israel.
“But you also have anti-Semitism that has gotten marbled into this [Democratic] Party,” Jones added.
Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D., Fla.) said before Harris announced her pick that it was “very noticeable” and “deeply concerning” that “the only Jewish candidate is getting excruciating, very specific scrutiny, particularly around his positions on Israel.”
Harris ‘Listened to the Hamas Wing of Her Own Party’ in Skipping Shapiro
Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) said Tuesday that Vice President Kamala Harris “listened to the Hamas wing of her own party” in passing over Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro (D) in favor of Gov. Tim Walz (D) of Minnesota as her running mate.
Vance, whom former President Donald Trump tapped as his running mate last month, spoke to reporters shortly after Walz was announced as Harris’s pick. He said that he had called Walz to congratulate him, and had left a voice mail.
But he also said:
Obviously, the big news of the day is that Tim Walz has been nominated as the VP, or is now the presumptive nominee, I should say, for Kamala Harris. My view on it is it just highlights how radical Kamala Harris is. This is a person who listened to the Hamas wing of her own party in selecting a nominee. This is a guy who’s proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China,; who wants to make the American people more reliant on garbage energy, instead of good American energy; and has proposed defunding the police, just as Kamala Harris does. I think it’s interesting, actually — they make an interesting tag team, because of course Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020, and then the few who got caught, Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail. So it is more instructive for what it says about Kamala Harris, that she doesn’t care about the border, she doesn’t hear about crime, she doesn’t care about American energy, and most importantly, she doesn’t care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies.
Tim Walz Signed Bill Allowing Infanticide, Letting Babies Die Who Survive Abortions
Kamala Harris just selected Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate and she could not have picked a more radically pro-abortion activist to join her ticket.
Walz signed a bill to allows abortions up to birth. But he also put his signature on allowing infanticide, letting babies die who survive abortions.
Babies survive abortions every year, including five in 2021 just in Minnesota. But the state no longer protects their lives.
Minnesota Democrats took control of the state legislature in 2023 and quickly passed a series of radical pro-abortion bills. One repealed a state law that required medical providers to provide medical care for newborns who survive abortions and report the situation to authorities.
Reports are indicating Democrat presidential candidate Kamala Harris has selected Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) as her running mate — a choice one of America’s leading pro-life organizations says represents the “most pro-abortion Democratic ticket yet.”
“Kamala Harris and Tim Walz make up the most pro-abortion presidential ticket America has ever seen. There is no daylight between them on this issue,” SBA Pro-Life America President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement. “Walz is no moderate when it comes to abortion.”
Dannenfelser pointed to legislation Walz signed in January of 2023, which was “at the time the country’s most extreme law enshrining abortion on demand throughout pregnancy as a ‘fundamental right’ without limits of any kind.”
As Breitbart News reported at the time, Walz made Minnesota the first in the nation to codify abortion via legislative action after the Supreme Court overturnedRoe v. Wade and sent the issue of abortion back to individual states and their elected representatives. The bill, called H.F. 1 or the Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act, was created to cement in state law the “right” to access reproductive health care options including abortion, birth control, family planning help, and sterilization.
Here is Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz signing the bill to legalize killing babies in abortions up to birth.
Tim Walz Turned His State Into A Destination For Late-Term Abortions
Minnesota Democrat Gov. Tim Walz pushed to turn Minnesota into an abortion “safe haven” just one day after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.
Vice President Kamala Harris, who has been at the forefront of the Biden administration’s pro-abortion policies, selected Walz on Tuesday to be her running mate for the 2024 presidential election. The Minnesota governor issued an executive order on June 25, 2022, that said individuals entering Minnesota from states that restrict abortion would not be extradited for receiving the procedure.
“Reproductive freedom is a right under Minnesota law…that right no longer exists in many states, including many of our neighboring states,” Walz wrote in the order, bemoaning the restrictions states would soon apply. “The impending loss of freedom to people around the nation poses an imminent threat to the health and safety of people in Minnesota to the extent that other states may seek to infringe on essential liberties protected by the Minnesota Constitution.”
To our neighbors in Iowa: Minnesota is and will remain a safe haven for reproductive freedom.
VP Pick Tim Walz Pushed To Close Gitmo and House Terrorists in US
Minnesota governor Tim Walz, who was named Kamala Harris’s vice presidential pick on Tuesday, pushed to close the Guantanamo Bay prison camp and move its terrorist captives into holding facilities in the United States. His position put him to the left of other prominent Minnesota Democrats like Amy Klobuchar, but Gitmo, Walz said, is a “serious obstacle to peace in the Middle East.”
As a House member representing Minnesota’s First Congressional District, Walz voted against a 2009 measure that would have barred the federal government from shutting down Gitmo and relocating terrorists housed there to American cities. Walz railed against the U.S. detention camp as an obstacle to peace in the Middle East. He also argued that Minnesota’s criminal justice facilities could “handle” housing Gitmo terrorists.
“Walz said he thinks the U.S. detention facility in Guantanamo Bay is a serious obstacle to peace in the Middle East,” MPR News reported in June 2009, shortly after Walz returned from a “fact-finding trip to the Middle East.”
“Walz said Guantanamo should be closed, and the detainees there should be dealt with appropriately. He said that could include care at the Federal Medical Center in Rochester,” a federal prison in Minnesota for inmates who require long-term medical care.
Tim Walz’s immigration record: What to know about Harris’s running mate
Gov. Tim Walz’s (D-MN) record on immigration has come into focus after Vice President Kamala Harris, the Democratic presidential nominee, selected the Minnesotan as her running mate.
Harris is vulnerable on immigration after being tasked early on as vice president with addressing the root causes of the border crisis — only for illegal immigration levels to rise to historic highs during her tenure.
As Harris goes up against former President Donald Trump, the Republican presidential nominee, in November, her selection of a Democrat with a record of implementing progressive immigration policies could give Harris a leg-up with Democrats but also give pause to independents and Republicans concerned about border security.
Walz beat out centrist candidate Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), who had broken with the White House in recent years to call for President Joe Biden to finish portions of the Trump-era border wall and opposed its plan to end Title 42, a border policy that allowed illegal immigrants to be returned to Mexico.
Walz has held public office for nearly two decades and has shifted further to the Left with support for policies that benefit illegal immigrants, even reupping in early August a clip of him stating he would invest in ladders capable of getting migrants in Mexico over the border wall.
“I always say, ‘Let me know how high it is.’ If it’s 25 feet, then I’ll invest in a 30-foot-ladder factory. That’s not how you stop this,” Walz said.
VP Pick Tim Walz Smiles for Cameras as He Signs Bill That Gives Illegal Immigrants Drivers Licenses
On Tuesday, a leak revealed who Vice President Kamala Harris has chosen as her running mate for the November presidential election.
Many were shocked to learn Harris opted not to pick Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, a more moderate-appearing candidate who could have helped Democrats carry Pennsylvania and other key swing states.
Instead, Harris opted to go with Minnesota’s radical Democrat Gov. Tim Walz.
That pick is already coming back to haunt her as Walz’s radical policies are brought to light.
Perhaps no video is more damning of the Walz pick than the following from March 2023, when the far-left governor signed a bill giving illegal immigrants the right to receive driver’s licenses in Minnesota.
‘I’ll Invest in a…Ladder Factory’ to Help Illegals Climb Border Wall
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Democrat presidential nominee Vice President Kamala Harris’s running mate, is apparently fine with helping illegal aliens climb over the United States-Mexico border wall.
During an interview on CNN, Walz appeared to refer to former President Donald Trump’s border wall.
“He talks about this wall. I always say, ‘Let me know how high it is. If it’s 25 feet, then I’ll invest in a 30-foot ladder factory,’” Walz stated.
The radical leftist governor continued:
That’s not how you stop this. You stop this using electronics. You stop it using more border control agents. You stop it by having a legal system that allows for that tradition of allowing folks to come here — just like my relatives did — to come here, be able to work, and establish the American dream. He’s not interested in that. He wants to demonize.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz says he wants to invest in a “ladder factory” to help illegal immigrants climb Trump’s border wall, says we won’t have Thanksgiving dinner anymore without illegal immigrant workers.
Walz Let Rioters Burn Minneapolis While Harris Fundraised Their Bail
Minneapolis, ground zero for the Defund the Police movement, is not the kind of place you park your car with confidence. Several years after George Floyd’s death on May 25, 2020, the city averages one car theft an hour.
The forsaken Minneapolis police station on Lake Street, abandoned by cops and ransacked by rioters in 2020, still sits vacant. High fencing and overgrown weeds surround the building. There are no plans to rebuild.
Colorful murals splashed on vacant businesses along Lake Street can’t hide the constant stink of dope in the air or prevent the rising crime rate. The homeless stand in line for free sandwiches some charity in a van distributes near Lake Street most days.
The police force is down in numbers and morale, as a “transformed” law enforcement system centered on “recognizing the humanity and civil rights of community members” and “addressing race-based policing” is being implemented through a consent decree between the city and the Minnesota Department of Human Rights.
Kamala boosted bail fund for Minnesota rioters after Walz let them torch Minneapolis: JD Vance
Republican vice-presidential candidate Sen. JD Vance slammed Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz and Vice President Kamala Harris for allowing rioters to burn Minneapolis and boosting bail funds to get them out of jail respectively. Harris selected Walz as her presidential running mate on Tuesday.
Vance said the two will “make an interesting tag team” and Walz that will not alleviate any of Harris’ perceived policy deficits.
“This is a guy who’s proposed shipping more manufacturing jobs to China, who wants to make the American people more reliant on garbage energy instead of good American energy, and has proposed defunding the police, just as Kamala Harris does. I think it’s interesting, actually, they make an interesting tag team, because, of course, Tim Walz allowed rioters to burn down Minneapolis in the summer of 2020 and then the few who got caught Kamala Harris helped bail them out of jail,” said Vance.
“So, it is more instructive for what it says about Kamala Harris that she doesn’t care about the border, she doesn’t care about crime, she doesn’t care about American energy, and most importantly, she doesn’t care about the Americans who have been made to suffer under those policies,” Vance continued.
Tim Walz Let George Floyd Rioters Burn Minneapolis
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s record amid the 2020 George Floyd riots in Minneapolis has received renewed scrutiny after Vice President Kamala Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee for president, selected him as her running mate.
“Minnesota was ground zero for the Black Lives Matter riots of 2020. Harris egged it on, and Walz sat by and let Minneapolis burn,” Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, a Republican, posted on X on Tuesday.
Harris, then a senator from California who had suspended her presidential campaign, had touted the Black Lives Matter protests even after many of them descended into violent riots.
“This is a movement, I’m telling you,” Harris told CBS “Late Show” host Stephen Colbert in June 2020. “They’re not going to stop. And everyone, beware, because they’re not going to stop. They’re not going to stop before Election Day in November, and they’re not going to stop after Election Day. And that should be—everyone should take note of that, on both levels, that they’re not going to let up, and they should not, and we should not.”
Tim Walz’s Wife Appears To PRAISE Violent BLM Riots In Shocking Re-Surfaced Clip: ‘Such A Touchstone’
Minnesota First Lady Gwen Walz has come under fire for her comments regarding the violent riots that shook Minneapolis in 2020. A resurfaced video clip showcased Walz in a rather questionable light, just as her husband, Governor Tim Walz, is thrust onto the national stage as Vice President Kamala Harris’s choice for running mate.
The clip, dating back to a 2020 interview, captures Gwen Walz discussing the early days of the Black Lives Matter riots with a disturbing sense of nostalgia. “I could smell the burning tires,” Walz recounted. “That was a very real thing. And I kept the windows open for as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was happening.”
The timing of the clip’s resurfacing could not be more inopportune for Governor Tim Walz, who was recently announced as Vice President Harris’s running mate in the upcoming election. Harris, who assumed the party’s nomination after President Joe Biden’s unexpected withdrawal last month, praised Walz’s “leadership and dedication” as key factors in her decision. Walz, a former Congressman and current second-term Governor, is seen as a crucial figure in an attempt to strengthen the Democrat ticket.
WATCH:
Tim Walz was in office during the Black Lives Matter riots in 2020, which began in Minneapolis before spreading throughout the nation. Before a trial had occurred, Walz condemned Minneapolis Police Officer Derek Chauvin and said the infamous video of his encounter with George Floyd was “disturbing.”
“The lack of humanity in this disturbing video is sickening. We will get answers and seek justice,” he said at the time. Chauvin was ultimately convicted of murder — after nationwide riots that killed more than 20 people and caused billions of dollars in property damage — though the trial has become a subject of intense controversy. Hundreds of pages of sworn testimony from Hennepin County prosecutors have now revealed that prosecutors acknowledged the “extreme pressure” to prosecute Derrick Chauvin and three additional former Minneapolis police officers. According to a report from Alpha News, multiple employees of the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office, including a prosecutor, withdrew after stating that the pressure to charge the other three officers involved, “violated professional and ethical rules.”
Tim Walz’s Wife Gwen Kept Windows Open During BLM Riots to ‘Smell the Burning Tires’
We all know that presumptive VP candidate Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz allowed Minnesota to burn during the 2020 BLM riots.
His wife Gwen enjoyed the destruction so much that she kept her windows open to smell the burning tires:
“I would say those first days, you know when there were riots, I could smell the burning tires, and that was — that was a very real thing. And I kept the windows open as long as I could because I felt like that was such a touchstone of what was — what was happening.”
Could you imagine how you would feel if those rioters burned down your business, home, or any property?
Kamala’s new running mate Tim Walz offered teens chance to win $100k scholarship for taking COVID jab
(LifeSiteNews) — Kamala Harris’s pick to be her vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, is an aggressive leftist who since taking office has instituted a program to bribe teens with $200 VISA cards to take the COVID-19 jab while also offering a chance to win a $100,000 scholarship; signed an executive order making Minnesota a sanctuary for gender transitions; and signed into law a “right” to unlimited abortion putting the North Star State on par with the likes of North Korea according to pro-life leaders.
In 2021, Walz announced that teens in his state who get their first COVID shot before November 30 were eligible to receive a $200 VISA gift card.
The program, aimed at 12–17-year-olds, is titled “Kids Deserve a Shot,” also includes a chance to win a $100,000 scholarship to attend a public or private Minnesota college.
The governor’s attempt at bribery was aimed at persuading kids who were otherwise disinclined to do so to take the COVID-19 jab which had already shown to have heightened risks for young people.
Without mentioning the documented risks, Walz encouraged young people via social media to go ahead and get vaccinated.
“Minnesota teens: Not only are you eligible to get vaccinated, but starting today, you can also get $200 AND a shot at a $100,000 college scholarship,” shouted a tweet from Walz.
“Tell your friends and head to [the Minnesota vaccine rewards website],” he urged.
VP Pick Tim Walz Supports Biden-Harris’s Big 3 Gun Control Policies
Democrat Vice Presidential pick Tim Walz wants the three central gun controls that Joe Biden and Kamala Harris have spent years pushing in Washington, DC.
Those controls–an “assault weapons” ban, universal background checks, and red flag laws–have been pushed time and again by Biden and/or Harris at every opportunity, including those in which the gun controls had absolutely nothing to do with the events that led to their mention.
For example, the Detroit Free Pressnoted that Biden responded to the February 13, 2023, Michigan State shooting by pushing an “assault weapons” ban and universal background checks, among other controls. However, the Michigan State shooter used handguns, not an “assault weapon,” and acquired his handguns “legally,” so no additional point-of-sale background check would have hindered him.
Most recently, Harris, in her first campaign stop after Biden announced he would not seek reelection, told a Milwaukee audience, “We’ll finally pass red flag laws, universal background checks, and an ‘assault weapons’ ban.”
Walz is in lockstep with Biden and Harris on these three controls.
Harris Running Mate Tim Walz to Push for Americans to Pay ‘Carbon Tax’ to Comply with ‘Net Zero’
Kamala Harris has just struck fear into the hearts of many freedom-loving Americans by announcing that her 2024 running mate is globalist climate-radical Gov. Tim Walz.
If elected vice president, Walz, the Democrat governor of Minnesota, wants to push for Americans to pay a so-called “carbon tax” to ensure that the United States complies with the collectivist goals of the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) “Net Zero” agenda.
Walz is hoping to continue with the green agenda policies that he’s been pushing in Minnesota but on a national level.
As governor, Walz signed bills requiring Minnesota to abandon affordable and reliable energy sources.
He also slapped the state with arbitrary electric vehicle (EV) mandates.
While in Congress, Walz also voted to support controversial cap-and-trade programs while pushing for a federal carbon tax.
Daniel Turner, founder and executive director of Power The Future, warns that Walz and Harris would see the U.S. fall deeper into economic crisis in favor of the WEF’s destructive green agenda.
“If you like the record prices and sky-high inflation delivered by the Biden-Harris energy agenda, you’re going to love Tim Walz,” Turner warns.
Gov. Tim Walz Previously Campaigned For Sen. Amy Klobuchar Over Biden and Harris In 2020 Democratic Presidential Primary
As The Gateway Pundit reported on Tuesday morning, Democratic Presidential nominee Kamala Harris has tagged Democrat Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota as her running mate.
In February 2019, Gov. Walz was not a big fan of Biden and Harris and opted to endorse Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar in the 2020 Democratic Presidential primary race.
In a February 2019 post on X, Walz wrote, “I’ve worked alongside Amy for 12 years. No one is better prepared to lead our country. She’s optimistic about what we can do together.”
“I was proud to be with her at Boom Island today — and even prouder to support Amy Klobuchar for President of the United States,” added Walz.
Walz’s endorsement didn’t do much, and Klobuchar dropped out of the Democratic presidential primary, only snagging seven delegates.
LOOK:
I couldn’t be more proud of my friend @amyklobuchar for her incredible performance in tonight’s New Hampshire primary.
MSNBC Data Guru Dooms Harris for Picking Tim Walz as Running Mate: ‘Fell off the Cliff’
MSNBC’s data guru has spelled doom for the Democrats’ hopes of retaining the White House after Kamala Harris announced Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her running mate for the November election.
Data reporter Steve Kornacki said Tuesday that Walz may not be able to move the needle in key states as the Democrats’ vice-presidential nominee.
Vice President Harris announced Tuesday morning she chose Walz to be her running mate.
Harris passed over Pennsylvania’s Democrat Gov. Josh Shapiro.
During an appearance on “Ana Cabrera Reports,” Kornacki said that Walz’s 2022 re-election win was similar to how Democrat President Joe Biden carried Minnesota in 2020.
“When you look at what Tim Walz actually pulled off to get elected, to get re-elected in 2022, it’s the Biden model, demographically, regionally,” Kornacki told host Ana Cabrera.
“You go county by county, there’s not much variance between how Walz did and how Biden did.
“Walz ran up huge numbers, look at this, this is the biggest county in the state, Hennepin County, Minneapolis here.
“Walz ran up huge numbers, Biden ran up huge numbers.
“Now go into greater Minnesota, let’s take a look at, like, Stearns County here,” Kornacki continued.
“Look, Walz lost this by 23 points.
“What did Biden lose it by? 23 points.
“And this is the kind of county, by the way, in Minnesota and across the Midwest here, that Democrats are hoping Walz will help them with,” Kornacki warned.
Harris-Walz is That Bad: CNBC Host Tells Viewers ‘If You Care About Your Paycheck, Go with Trump’
On Monday, as the Stock Market cratered during the Kamala Crash, CNBC’s “Mad Money” host Jim Cramer had clear advice for his viewers….support President Trump.
“If you’re in the stock market, if you care about your paycheck, you go with Trump,” Cramer said. “That’s what you do.”
Fellow CNBC host David H. Faber asked incredulously, “You do?”
Cramer responded, “Yeah, well, he wants to cut your taxes.”
Faber whined, “Oh, he wants to cut taxes.”
Cramer replied, “Your taxes.”
Faber added, “No, my taxes got raised enormously under the last Trump administration… I’m in a blue state… They want to k*ll us…..they want to put us out of business.”
JD Vance Response to Walz Pick Shows Just How It Should Be Done
Kamala Harris finally got around to picking Minnesota Governor Tim Walz as her running mate after all the confusion and drama that Democrats were putting out there on the issue.
They decided not to go with the more moderate, pro-Israel Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, likely caving to their antisemitic left. But in that choice perhaps to hold onto the left and maybe Michigan, they may have just given away the state they really need — Pennsylvania — that they pretty much have to have to win, given the current estimates.
This choice may not go over well in the other Rust Belt states. They picked a guy who compared socialism to neighborliness and talked dismissively about the red states as being full of “rocks and cows.”
Ron DeSantis Absolutely Destroys Kamala’s Running Mate, Tim Walz
There’s been a lot of reaction to Kamala Harris’s selection of Gov. Tim Walz (D-Minn.) as her running mate, and one of my favorites comes from Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who destroyed Tim Walz and his abysmal record as governor of Minnesota.
“We all remember the [Black Lives Matter] riots of 2020 in Minneapolis,” he said during a press conference in Steinhatchee, Fla., on Tuesday morning. “Those were riots that Harris egged on and raised money to bail out the rioters with the Minnesota bail fund. And they were riots that Tim Waltz, as governor, sat back and let happen. He sat back and let the city of Minneapolis burn. That city has been gutted as a result of those riots. We would never allow that to happen in the state of Florida. So this is a ticket that really represents the spirit of those 2020 BLM riots.”
DeSantis continued, “And you have a very vapid San Francisco Democrat, and then you’ve got an Ilhan Omar-style leftist, Tim Walz, who has the same policies as his fellow Minnesotan, Ilhan Omar.We do not need an America that represents the failed policies of San Francisco or the failed policies of Minneapolis. We do not need to see poop on the street and cities burning down. That is not a prescription for America to work its way back. And I can just tell you, as governor of Florida, particularly in that 2020–2021 period, people fled those jurisdictions. And they’d come to Florida, and they would tell me about the mismanagement, and about letting the inmates run the asylum and how that just destroyed the quality of life. And so I think it was in that period, you were five times more likely to move from Minnesota to Florida than vice versa, and that’s a result of people fleeing those failed policies.”
Mike Johnson Reacts to Walz Pick, Calls Out Democrats’ ‘Pro-Palestinian, in Some Cases Pro-Hamas Wing’
House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) is the latest to call out the blatant discrimination in the Democrat party, saying that Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro was overlooked as a potential choice to become Democrat presidential hopeful Kamala Harris’ running mate because of his Jewish heritage.
Johnson sat down for an interview with The Hill shortly after it was announced that Kamala had chosen leftist Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz to be on her ticket. Johnson said the Keystone State governor would have been the “stronger choice”:
“I think that [Shapiro’s faith] clearly was a major factor, is that she was reluctant to put a vice presidential nominee on the ticket with Jewish heritage because they’re having a split in the Democratic Party,” Johnson said. “They have a pro-Palestinian, in some cases pro-Hamas wing of the Democratic Party.”
“Sadly for Josh Shapiro, because of his heritage, I think that is the reason he was overlooked,” Johnson added.
Johnson is far from the only one calling out the distorted values in the Democrat party; my colleague Mike Miller wrote earlier about CNN pundit Van Jones, who is anything but a conservative, calling out “anti-Jewish” bigots:
But you also have anti-Semitism that has gotten marbled into this party. You can be for the Palestinians without being an anti-Jewish bigot. But there are some anti-Jewish bigots out there and there’s some disquiet now and there has to be. How much of what just happened is caving into some of these darker parts in the party?
Within two days of the announcement being made, Democrat delegates quickly rallied around Biden’s endorsement, Vice President Kamala Harris, the new presumptive nominee of the Democrat Party. Biden disappeared for four days before emerging Tuesday, July 23, in a video showing him weakly walking across a tar mac and up a small flight of stairs into Air Force One.
Early polls are mixed, with some showing Kamala taking an early, though small, lead, while others show Trump extended the lead he had over Biden.
Without earning a single vote cast by the American public, Vice President Kamala Harris won enough support from Democratic delegates to secure her party’s presidential nomination less than 48 hours after her octogenarian boss dropped out of the race.
Over 2,660 delegates said they back the former California attorney general, pushing her way over the 1,976 votes needed to clinch the nomination, an Associated Press survey found. No other potential candidates were named in the survey as an alternative to Harris.
Since Biden dropped out of the race and endorsed Harris, his VP has gained support from other notable congressional Democrats and party leaders, including former House speaker Nancy Pelosi, Biden ally Rep. Jim Clyburn (D., S.C.), former president Bill Clinton, and his wife, former secretary of state Hillary Clinton, who ran to be the first female president against Donald Trump in 2016. George Clooney, who wrote an op-ed in the New York Times that called on Biden to leave the race, also endorsed Harris.
Democratic delegates immediately began gathering support for the vice president following Biden’s announcement. Just hours after Biden ended his reelection campaign, Democratic National Committee members circulated a letter pushing their support for Harris as the next presidential nominee.
Although we’re still in the early stages of the so-called “Kamala Harris campaign,” initial polling would suggest President Trump does as well, if not better, in a head-to-head contest against the vice president as he did against Joe Biden.
As it stands, Kamala Harris’ poll numbers are abysmal. She currently polls as the most unpopular vice president since the advent of modern polling. Her 32 percent net favorability (compared with a 49% unfavorability rating) is lower than both Dan Quayle and Dick Cheney, the architect of the universally despised Iraq War.
A recent poll by HarrisX/Forbes gives President Trump a nine-point lead over Harris, 50% to 41%, higher than the lead that same poll gave him over Biden, 48% to 40%. When broken down by demographic group, the 45th President’s numbers look even more promising: HarrisX/Forbes gives President Trump a +15-point advantage over Harris among Independents, 48% to 33%, and a staggering +19-point lead, 58% to 39%, among voters between the ages of 18 and 34.
A Cook Political Report shows that the freefall President Joe Biden was in before the debate is only accelerating post-debate, as most of the battleground state are leaning Trump, with only three now in toss-up status. This follows news that both New Jersey and New York State are now considered contestable, though they still mostly lead Biden (with one New Jersey poll showing Trump slightly ahead).
For months now, analysts have considered the 2024 presidential election between Donald Trump and Joe Biden a toss-up because national polling has generally shown the race to be within a couple of points. As it stands right now, Trump has a 3.3-point lead in the RealClearPolitics national average.
The Electoral College, however, is a different story. While Trump generally had the lead in the battleground states, his lead was sometimes razor-thin. For example, Trump and Biden were tied in Wisconsin before the debate. Now, Trump has a 2.2-point lead in the RCP average for the state — his highest lead during the campaign. Biden’s position has become worse all around, and a new update from the Cook Political Report is absolutely devastating for Biden.
NEW: @CookPolitical is shifting six Electoral College ratings towards Republicans.
AZ: Toss Up to Lean R
GA: Toss Up to Lean R
MN: Likely D to Lean D #NE02: Likely D to Lean D
NH: Likely D to Lean D
NV: Toss Up to Lean R
“The notion that the presidential [race] is a Toss Up was a stretch even before the debate,” Dave Wasserman of the Cook Political Report wrote in a post on X/Twitter. “Today, Trump has a clear advantage over Biden and a much more plausible path to 270 Electoral votes.”
The Republican National Committee (RNC) released the party’s official 2024 platform on Monday, July 8, 2024. The platform focused on the economy, restoring election integrity, dealing with illegal immigration, and restoring a strong pro-American foreign policy. It noticeably de-emphasized the pro-life statement of the 2020 platform, leading some Pro-Life groups concerned.
The platform seems designed to capture as broad a base as possibly, potentially serving independents first and foremost by addressing economic and security needs over cultural ones (such as gay marriage and abortion, though the platform does include a pledge to end wokeness in all federally funded institutions).
On Monday the RNC’s Platform Committee adopted Donald Trump’s platform as the Republican Party platform for 2024 – and it’s been slimmed down from 66 pages to 20 bullet points.
Trump’s major themes of securing the border and ending the migrant crime epidemic, requiring voter ID and proof of citizenship to vote, strengthening the military, bringing the manufacturing industry back to the United States, and ending the weaponization of government are featured prominently. The platform also opposes any cuts to Social Security and Medicare, including opposition to raising the retirement age, and proposes middle class tax cuts and the “no tax on tips” point that Trump’s repeatedly brought up at rallies. It also emphasizes rebuilding America’s cities and making them “safe and clean” again.
As has been anticipated, the platform is silent on abortion and gay marriage, though the ongoing battle against radical gender ideology and sexualization of children is addressed in two bullet points:
CUT FEDERAL FUNDING FOR ANY SCHOOL PUSHING CRITICAL RACE THEORY, RADICAL GENDER IDEOLOGY, AND OTHER INAPPROPRIATE RACIAL, SEXUAL, OR POLITICAL CONTENT ON OUR CHILDREN
With just a week until the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee where former President Donald Trump is expected to be renominated as the Republican presidential candidate, the GOP has officially adopted a new platform that reinforces Trump’s deep influence on the party.
Today, the Republican National Committee (RNC) Platform Committee announced the approval of the 2024 Republican Party Platform, a robust agenda that starkly contrasts with the “record of weakness, failure, and dishonesty” of the current administration under Joe Biden. The platform outlined Trump’s blueprint for his potential second term, with a return to his “America First” policies.
The platform accuses past politicians of selling out American interests through unfavorable trade deals and neglecting national security, contributing to a broad range of domestic issues. Trump’s 2024 platform is reminiscent of his 2016 campaign promises, focusing heavily on economic growth, job creation, and a revival of American manufacturing. Trump also blamed the Biden administration for a host of woes including “raging inflation, open borders, rampant crime,” and a decline in global stability.
Key promises in the 2024 GOP Platform included:
Sealing the border and halting the “migrant invasion.”
Carrying out the largest deportation operation in U.S. history.
Ending inflation and enhancing affordability for Americans.
Reclaiming the title as the top global energy producer.
Transforming the U.S. into a manufacturing superpower, curtailing outsourcing.
Implementing significant tax cuts for workers and eliminating taxes on tips.
Defending constitutional rights including freedom of speech, religion, and gun ownership.
Aiming to prevent global conflicts and promising to build a comprehensive missile defense system.
Overhauling federal educational funding to exclude schools that promote what the GOP considers radical ideologies.
Ensuring election security through measures like voter ID laws and same-day voting.
U.S. Judge Aileen Cannon has granted numerous delays in the Classified Documents case against former President Donald Trump. The delays are expected to push the prosecution of this case until after the election. The delays were the result of the Supreme Court Ruling granting immunity to a President when executing “official” acts of the office.
On Saturday, the judge overseeing the classified documents case against former President Donald Trump ruled that several deadlines can be pushed back further, in another victory for the former president and his team.
Axios reports that the ruling by Judge Aileen Cannon grants a temporary stay on expert disclosures which were originally set for July 8th, as well as the reciprocal discovery by the defense originally scheduled for July 10th. Judge Cannon also set a new deadline of July 18th for Special Counsel Jack Smith and his team to respond to the Trump team’s motion to stay, as well as a request for a supplemental briefing; she gave both sides a deadline of July 21st to respond.
Judge Cannon’s ruling follows a historic ruling by the Supreme Court in late June which reaffirmed that President Trump has sweeping immunity from prosecution over his conduct while in office. The 6-3 ruling by the court’s conservative majority determined that he has absolute immunity for actions that fall within his “conclusive and preclusive” constitutional authority, as well as presumptive immunity for other official acts.
The Supreme Court’s ruling makes it nearly impossible for Special Counsel Smith, as well as Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis, to prosecute Trump in their respective cases in Washington D.C., Florida, and Atlanta, Georgia. It also ensures that the cases will not go to trial before the November election, in which Trump is set to face Joe Biden in a rematch of the 2020 election.
President Trump and his team have also successfully delayed his sentencing in his Manhattan conviction; originally scheduled for July 11th, just days before the Republican National Convention, District Attorney Alvin Bragg and Judge Juan Merchan have agreed to reschedule the hearing for September 18th.
