The Ohio Republican Party has voted to endorse Vivek Ramaswamy for governor, following President Donald Trump’s endorsement.

At its central committee meeting, the party voted for Ramaswamy over state Attorney General Dave Yost and announced the results in an endorsement social media post on Friday.

“INTRODUCING: Ohio’s Endorsed Candidate for Governor,” the Ohio GOP wrote in the post, along with a photo of Ramaswamy.

President Trump endorsed Ramaswamy for governor in February.

In a post to Truth Social on February 24, Trump wrote:

VIVEK RAMASWAMY is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio. I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL. He’s Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country. He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, will never let you down, and has my COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT!

Attorneys general in 19 states and Washington, D.C., are challenging cuts to the U.S. Health and Human Services agency, saying the Trump administration’s massive restructuring has destroyed life-saving programs and left states to pick up the bill for mounting health crises.

The lawsuit was filed in federal court in Rhode Island on Monday, New York Attorney General Letitia James said. The attorneys general from Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maine, Michigan, Maryland, Minnesota, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oregon, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington, Wisconsin and the District of Columbia signed onto the complaint.

Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. restructured the agency in March, eliminating more than 10,000 employees and collapsing 28 agencies under the sprawling HHS umbrella into 15, the attorneys general said. An additional 10,000 employees had already been let go by President Donald Trump’s administration, according to the lawsuit, and combined the cuts stripped 25% of the HHS workforce.

Ask Democratic National Committee Vice Chair David Hogg why Democratic lawmakers are heading toward the exits.  It is because people like him want to widen the generational and ideological rifts growing within their party.

Their goal is to remake the Democratic Party in their own narrow, extremist image — even if it means driving everyone else out and Americans away.

Hogg recently put out a call to arms … against his own party.

“Leaders We Deserve is launching a $20 million investment to usher in the next generation of Democrats who will go to the mat every day for the American people and use every tactic and tool to stop Trump’s radical right-wing, economically illiterate agenda.”

More than half of Americans believe that billionaire businessman Elon Musk has too much influence over the federal government under President Donald Trump, according to the findings of a new national poll. The survey also found a sharp division along party and ideological lines.

Fifty-six percent of Americans believe that Musk has too much influence, while only 6% believe he has too little influence, according to the findings of the latest UMass Amherst National Poll.

Similarly, 56% believe both technology companies and Wall Street have too much influence over the government. Fifty-nine percent reported holding the same belief about health insurance companies.

Arizona will be combing its voter registration rolls with an eye to removing non-citizens, which could impact up to 50,000 people now eligible to vote in federal elections.

The state went for President Donald Trump in 2024 after narrowly backing former President Joe Biden in 2020 amid claims of voting irregularities.

After a lawsuit launched by America First Legal, the state has agreed that it will partner with the Department of Homeland Security to review voting rolls to verify that all residents on the rolls are American citizens, documents related to the suit said, according to Newsweek.

The lawsuit was filed last year.

The lawsuit was dismissed on Wednesday after a settlement was reached when the 15 counties being sued agreed “to ask DHS to begin responding to requests …  to verify the citizenship of each county’s federal-only voters.”

GOP faces tough trade-offs on spending and taxes in sweeping bill– www.washingtonexaminer.com

With a budget resolution now in place, congressional Republicans are forging ahead with crafting their major fiscal overhaul. However, leadership is facing some major dilemmas over spending cuts and tax policy.

Republicans are looking to extend the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act through budget reconciliation, a legislative process that allows bills to bypass the filibuster and pass with only a simple majority in the Senate. They also want to add new tax cuts proposed by President Donald Trump to the mix.

However, given some Republicans’ contradictory desires regarding the fiscal legislation, there will have to be some major trade-offs if the party wants to push through such big tax and spending cuts with the slim Republican majority in the House and demands from Republicans in the Senate.

“I have a very strong feeling we’ve got a lot of problems here that Republicans are going to have to work out between the House and the Senate,” G. William Hoagland, senior vice president at the Bipartisan Policy Center, told the Washington Examiner.

Top Democrats have filed a lawsuit to block President Donald Trump’s executive order mandating that voters must provide proof of citizenship to cast ballots in federal elections.

The lawsuit alleges that Trump’s order will “impose radical changes on how Americans register to vote.”

Trump signed the executive order last week seeking to overhaul the nation’s elections.

However, the order now faces two legal challenges, one of them by top Democrats.

The first lawsuit was filed on Monday afternoon by two leftist groups – the Campaign Legal Center and the State Democracy Defenders Fund.

Shortly after, the Democratic National Committee, the Democratic Governors Association, and Senate and House Democratic leaders filed a complaint of their own.

Both lawsuits filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia ask the court to block Trump’s order and declare it illegal.

Vance to Lead G.O.P. Fund-Raising, an Apparent First for a Vice President – The New York Times

Republicans named Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday to lead the party’s fund-raising operation as it gears up for the 2026 midterm elections, a posting that could also help him position himself for the 2028 Republican presidential primary race.

Mr. Vance will serve as the finance chair of the Republican National Committee, an unusual arrangement for a sitting vice president. In both national parties, the finance chair role has typically gone to a reliable party fund-raiser who has time on his or her hands, not someone with significant governing responsibilities.

The R.N.C. said that Mr. Vance would be the first sitting vice president to serve in that role. In a statement, President Trump praised Mr. Vance as someone who “knows how to fight and win tough races” and said he would do a “fantastic job.”

House Democrats are making it official: Latino voters have shifted their battleground map.

Their campaign arm is unveiling its list of top battleground incumbents to defend in 2026, giving the first insight into how the party views the midterm elections — with notable new additions to reflect a shift toward President Donald Trump in some majority-Latino congressional districts

The 26-member “frontline” list provided first to POLITICO otherwise largely matches the list of districts where Democrats played defense last cycle. As Democrats continue their post-election autopsy, the list reveals where the party thinks it is most vulnerable and will have to dedicate resources to protect incumbents.

Looks like this may have been one of the primary vehicles to take advantage of the giant taxpayer-funded slush funds created by Biden—or whoever was running him.

This is more than Grant Laundering. This is Program Laundering. And it looks like Obama’s fingerprints are all over it.
