Former Rep. Debbie Lesko announces audit of Maricopa County elections upon taking office as Maricopa County Supervisor

Former Congresswoman Debbie Lesko, upon taking office as a Maricopa County Supervisor Monday, announced plans to audit Maricopa County’s election system.

“It is very important to a lot of my constituents,” she said.

This is a major departure from former Maricopa County officials’ stance that the elections are run with integrity despite major issues in the last three elections. Recall that former Maricopa County Chairman Bill Gates, following the 2022 election, which was stolen from Trump-Endorsed statewide candidates like Kari Lake and Abe Hamadeh, said the election “was run extremely well.” This is despite 60% of vote counting machines across Maricopa County breaking down on election day and disenfranchising in-person voters who were mostly Republicans.

This also came after the forensic audit of the 2020 election discovered major discrepancies in ballot chain of custody documentation, mail-in ballot signature verification, and ballot printing, as well as numerous election law violations. While serving in the U.S. House, Lesko was one of the brave 139 Republicans who voted to stop the certification of the stolen 2020 election.

Consumers in the United States will no longer have medical debt appear on their credit reports under changes that will make it easier for millions of Americans to obtain loans.

The new rule means that lenders will be barred from using medical information in their lending decisions, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) said on Tuesday.

Under the change, an estimated $49bn in medical debt will be struck from the credit reports of more than 15 million Americans, the CFPB said.

The consumer watchdog said that its research showed that medical debt is a poor predictor of whether a loan will be repaid and that it expects the change to result in the approval of approximately 22,000 additional mortgages every year.

“People who get sick shouldn’t have their financial future upended,” CFPB Director Rohit Chopra said in a statement.

Michael Cohen’s Testimony Gets Off To A Rough Start

Deputies to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg began the quizzing with relatively innocuous questions about Cohen’s work history with Trump, who allegedly paid him $525,000 annually toward the end of the 2016 election. Cohen has maintained that he personally paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who testified last week, to silence her from speaking with reporters about a tryst with Trump more than a decade ago…

Cohen further stepped on the prosecution’s case when he described the atmosphere of his former workplace. Working for Trump, “was fantastic… working for him of those 10 years was an amazing experience… there were great times, there were less than great times, but for the most part, I enjoyed the responsibilities given to me,” he testified.

The Trump campaign and Republican National Committee (RNC) smashed March’s fundraising record and raised over $76 million in April, according to the RNC.

The RNC made the announcement following its Spring Finance Retreat, affirming that the two entities raised more than $76 million combined in April. That is over ten million more than their $65.6 million haul in March. That same month, RNC co-chair Lara Trump noted that the first major fundraising event with their joint fundraising group, Trump 47 Committee, raised $40 million in a single event.

“It took three presidents — Barack Obama, Bill Clinton, and God bless us all, the current President of the United States, as hard as it is to say, Joe Biden — to raise $26 million at the glitzy Radio City event last week,” Lara Trump told Breitbart News Daily at the time.

Further, the RNC said in a release that more than 50 percent of the donations from April stem from small dollar donors.

“The Republican Party is turning up the heat and the American people are going all in to re-elect President Donald J. Trump and Republicans down the ballot in November,” the RNC said in a press release.
