Michael Cohen’s Testimony Gets Off To A Rough Start

Deputies to Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg began the quizzing with relatively innocuous questions about Cohen’s work history with Trump, who allegedly paid him $525,000 annually toward the end of the 2016 election. Cohen has maintained that he personally paid $130,000 to Stormy Daniels, an adult film star who testified last week, to silence her from speaking with reporters about a tryst with Trump more than a decade ago…

Cohen further stepped on the prosecution’s case when he described the atmosphere of his former workplace. Working for Trump, “was fantastic… working for him of those 10 years was an amazing experience… there were great times, there were less than great times, but for the most part, I enjoyed the responsibilities given to me,” he testified.

A pair of top House Republicans are demanding the Department of Justice (DOJ) open up a criminal probe into former Trump attorney Michael Cohen for allegedly lying to Congress.

On Wednesday, the GOP chairmen of the House Oversight and Judiciary Committees sent a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland calling on federal law enforcement to examine Cohen’s 2019 testimony to Congress as evidence of perjury. Lawmakers first made the criminal referral on Feb. 28, 2019.

“Cohen’s testimony is now the basis for a politically motivated prosecution of a former president and current declared candidate for that office,” wrote James Comer, R-Ky., and Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, in the joint letter. “In light of the reliance on the testimony from this repeated liar, we reiterate our concerns and ask what the Justice Department has done to hold Cohen accountable for his false statements to Congress.”

Comer and Jordan outlined six specific times they say Cohen lied to federal lawmakers, including claims that he never committed fraud (Cohen pled guilty to fraud charges in 2018). Cohen was sentenced to three years behind bars following the guilty plea deal with federal prosecutors on charges of tax evasion, making false statements to banks, and violations of campaign finance laws.

The National Labor Relations Board’s (NLRB) expansion of mail ballot elections has led to widespread mismanagement, misconduct and procedural irregularities by the agency, according to a report released Thursday by the House Committee on Education and the Workforce.

The NLRB issued a decision in November 2020 expanding regional agency directors’ ability to order that union elections operate by mail rather than the traditional manual ballot due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since the decision, voter turnout has decreased while both institutional issues, like employees interfering in elections, and integrity issues, like inappropriate voter solicitation and the number of lost or voided ballots, have increased, according to the report.

The investigation spawned as a result of a former NLRB employee cooperating with the committee to detail instances covering 15 different NLRB regions and 33 representation cases, according to the report.

“Through blatant misconduct that resulted in the disenfranchisement of workers participating in union elections, the NLRB has outright corrupted its once gold standard of secret ballot, onsite elections,” Education and the Workforce Committee Chairwoman Virginia Foxx said in a statement to the DCNF. “By broadening its own authority and instituting a series of administrative changes that emboldened its own cadre of regional directors, the agency took risks that alienated voters. As this report makes clear, the NLRB’s administration of mail ballot elections has become deeply fraught with procedural misconduct and gross irregularities.”

In a recent segment on Tuesday’s WarRoom with Steve Bannon, the spotlight fell on the growing demand among supporters of President Donald J. Trump for the removal of Republican Speaker Mike Johnson. The consensus among three distinct voices—Dr. Monica Crowley, Mike Lindell, and Jim Rickards—was resounding: Johnson must go, one way or another, to make room for the advancement of Trump’s agenda.

At the center of this fervor is US Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), who has emerged as a vocal advocate for what she perceives as a betrayal of Republican values by Speaker Johnson. Greene’s insistence on forcing a House vote on a motion to vacate has put her at odds with some in her party, who view her demands as too extreme. However, for Crowley, Lindell, and Rickards, Greene doesn’t represent a lone voice but a voice of courage in Washington, championing a cause they believe is essential for the future of the GOP and the American people.

Dr. Monica Crowley, a seasoned political commentator and former Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of the Treasury under the Trump administration, brings her expertise to the table. With a background in both government and media, Crowley’s support for Greene’s stance underscores the depth of concern among Trump loyalists regarding Johnson’s leadership.

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) believes that “young black kids growing up in the Bronx don’t even know what the word ‘computer’ is.”

“They don’t know,” she added. “They don’t know these things.”

This condescension toward black people has always simmered just beneath the surface of the Democrat Party (the party that fought a Civil War to hold onto their slaves, and then created the Ku Klux Klan, Jim Crow, and segregation). But earlier this month, it bubbled and then burst to the surface through Hochul’s ignorant and racist mouth.

You can watch the full video of her appearance at the “Milken Institute Fireside Chat” here. Her racist remarks are heard at about the seven-minute mark… Afterward comes my favorite part… Watch as Hochul, after spewing racism, is allowed to go on without being challenged by the event moderator, the far-left Washington Post’s Jonathan Capehart. He’s such a good dog, he allows a white woman to get away with a blatant act of racism without challenging her, pushing back, or even mentioning it.
