Donald Trump

Republican allies close to the White House are privately arguing that the former special government employee — who spent Tuesday afternoon blasting the spending bill and threatening to retaliate against its supporters — is opposing the bill because it harms the tech billionaire’s business interests.

The House-passed megabill represents the president’s chief — and potentially only — major legislative priority this Congress. But Elon Musk’s opposition suggests that the coalition that vaulted Trump to the White House is still facing internal disagreement over it as it makes its way through the Senate. It marks another dust-up between the MAGA and Tech Right. And it raises the possibility some members face pressure from Musk if they ultimately support it.

“The West Wing is perplexed, unenthused, and disappointed” with Musk, who left the White House to attend to his ailing business empire, according to one White House official, who like others interviewed for this story were granted anonymity to be candid about an ally who spent hundreds of millions to ensconce them in the White House.

The relationship between President Trump and Elon Musk rapidly disintegrated on Thursday, fulfilling predictions of a messy breakup that the world’s most powerful man and its richest man had defied for months.

Trump told reporters in an Oval Office meeting with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz that he was “very surprised” and “very disappointed” in Musk, who spent millions of dollars to help Trump get elected, served in his administration for four months but has since mounted a campaign against the president’s signature policy bill.

Musk responded on social media, claiming credit for Trump’s electoral victory last November.

It was a dramatic turnaround for the two men, who just days ago were together in the Oval Office as Trump presented Musk a ceremonial key to the White House.

There is only one question that needs to be answered when assessing Elon Musk’s criticism of Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill. Does Musk have the political juice with Republicans to derail the legislation?

This all started when Musk posted to X:

I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it.

Musk went on to criticize the bill for adding to the deficit.

The post rocked Republicans in Congress just as the Senate is starting work on changes to the legislation.

Speaker Mike Johnson responded to Musk by starting out with political niceties, but his remarks to reporters transitioned into:

I know that the, the EV mandate is very important to him. That is going away because the government should not be subsidizing these things as part of the Green New Deal. And I, I know that has an effect on his business.

And I lament that we, we talked about the ramp down period on that and, and how that should be duly considered by Congress, but for him to come out and hand the whole bill, is to me just very disappointing, very surprising in light of the conversation I had with him yesterday.

Johnson was asked if Musk’s concern for Tesla is driving this and he answered:

I’m gonna let others draw their own conclusions about that, but this is not personal between any of us. I just, I, I just deeply regret that he is made this, this mistake. I would tell you, listen, I’m gonna remind everybody again. Every hardworking American ought to be in favor of this bill…

And that is a dangerous thing for Elon or anyone who has, um, who cares about the US economy to, to be meddling with. And I think the risk is very great. We have to pass this legislation. The Senate is doing some good, thoughtful, deliberate work right now. We’re looking forward to moving it through the process and this, and the president is very much looking forward to signing that into law by Independence Day.

Elon Musk is still going after the Big Beautiful Bill, using whatever he can to get his point across. Today’s show breaks it down.

“You can argue that these cuts aren’t enough to offset the tax cut extension, but there’s no debating the fact that the left loves what Elon Musk is doing—and how he’s doing it,” Crowder said. “Even if you disagree, you’d better be absolutely sure, and make sure the left can’t use it to hurt your brothers and sisters in office.”

According to Musk, the bill would destroy any gains made by Doge.

“I understand that we cannot spend our way into prosperity, but the entire deficit increase comes from the extended tax cuts,” Crowder said.

According to the White House:

So-called “forecasts” (including by the CBO) predicting higher deficits are based on a false assumption that President Trump’s 2017 tax cuts will expire. In reality, extending the CURRENT tax rates — which this legislation does — has zero impact on the deficit.

Of course, the $1.7 trillion savings is partly offset by one-time spending on border security and additional tax cuts (NO TAX ON TIPS, NO TAX ON OVERTIME) — which brings the net deficit reduction to exactly $1.407 trillion.

(Conservative Treehouse) — If you have walked the deep political weeds with us, you will likely remember the warnings. Thomas Massie, Chip Roy, Rand Paul, and other fellow republican travelers will join with Elon Musk and the alligator emoji network to oppose President Donald Trump as soon as they can get back into the minority.

There is an intention behind this alignment of interests, which includes the Tech Bros (and Sea Island), that ends with a Vance-DeSantis promoted effort in 2028. The only thing standing in their way is MAGA. As a result, MAGA must be fractured.

The money center behind the strategy is working on a learning curve. Having failed with prior launches of similar approaches (ref. DeSantis ‘23/‘24), they are now doing much more proactive seeding.

Yeah, I know, I know, some will say I’m crazy. I’m not. I’ve watched this exact group’s constructs for over 14 years now. All the data indicates this approach; the only unknown variables are the names of the political representatives who will participate. Now, Thomas Massie is asking Elon Musk to fund primary challengers against the House Republicans who support Donald Trump. From Fox News:

Rep. Thomas Massie, R-Ky., said Elon Musk should fund primary challenges against almost every Republican who voted for President Donald Trump’s “big, beautiful bill” last week. “I don’t primary my colleagues, but I feel pretty good about him doing it,” Massie told Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

“There’s a few others that should be spared,” when asked to clarify if he meant all 215 House Republicans who supported the legislation. “But people want term limits, right? Elon can bring term limits.”

Musk came out against the massive Trump agenda bill that House Republicans passed last week. “I’m sorry, but I just can’t stand it anymore. This massive, outrageous, pork-filled congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination. Shame on those who voted for it: you know you did wrong. You know it,” Musk first posted.

It was followed by several posts on the national debt, and one that read, “In November next year, we fire all politicians who betrayed the American people.”

Massie said on Wednesday, “I just think he made one mistake when misstatement – he said take them out in November. I would take them out in primaries if I were Elon Musk.”

He openly advocated for the death of then-President-elect Donald Trump, hailing himself as an “assassin” and threatening to shoot the would-be 47th commander-in-chief shortly after the election, prosecutors say.

Those words, left on Facebook posts, are at the center of a federal grand jury indictment. On Tuesday, Yucca Valley resident Thomas Eugene Streavel, 73, pleaded not guilty to three felony counts of making threats.

The San Bernardino County man was arrested Monday just before 11 a.m. by United States Marshals and arraigned the next day inside Central District Court in Riverside.

He’s out on a $10,000 bond and is expected back in court July 28. Streavel could serve up to 15 years in prison if found guilty on all counts.

During his remarks to Parliament last Thursday, Prime Minister Carney waxed gleefully about the U.S. federal trade court ruling against President Trump’s tariffs, just moments before the federal appeals court stayed the opinion of the lower court. It’s a little funny.

Carney doesn’t seem to recognize the reality of the economic landscape before him. He complains about blocked access to the U.S. consumer base with a level of entitlement that’s genuinely humorous. Meanwhile, the Canadian economy around him is collapsing:

Following the 2024 presidential election, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau traveled to Mar-a-Lago and said if President Trump were to make the Canadian government face reciprocal tariffs, open the USMCA trade agreements to force reciprocity, and/or balance economic relations on non-tariff issues, then Canada would collapse upon itself economically and cease to exist. In essence, in addition to the NATO defense shortfall, Canada cannot survive as a free and independent North American nation, without receiving all the one-way benefits from the U.S. economy.

President Donald Trump has announced that Canada is “considering” a deal that would see the nation become America’s 51st state.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Canada is mulling an offer to join the United States in exchange for protection by the proposed “Golden Dome” missile defense system at no cost.

“I told Canada, which very much wants to be part of our fabulous Golden Dome System, that it will cost $61 Billion Dollars if they remain a separate, but unequal, Nation, but will cost ZERO DOLLARS if they become our cherished 51st State,” Trump wrote.

“They are considering the offer!” he added.

Trump Media & Technology Group announced on Tuesday that it has entered into agreements with 50 investors to raise roughly $2.5 billion in capital to invest in bitcoin.

TMTG, the company behind President Donald Trump’s Truth Social platform, said in the announcement that the proceeds from the investment would create a bitcoin treasury, a move it hailed as one of the “largest Bitcoin treasury deals of any public company.”

“We view Bitcoin as an apex instrument of financial freedom, and now Trump Media will hold cryptocurrency as a crucial part of our assets,” Trump Media CEO and Chairman Devin Nunes said.

“Our first acquisition of a crown jewel asset, this investment will help defend our Company against harassment and discrimination by financial institutions, which plague many Americans and U.S. firms, and will create synergies for subscription payments, a utility token, and other planned transactions across Truth Social and Truth+. It’s a big step forward in the Company’s plans to evolve into a holding company by acquiring additional profit-generating, crown jewel assets consistent with America First principles,” Nunes continued.

Washington — NPR on Tuesday sued President Trump and administration officials over an executive order signed earlier this month that seeks to cut federal funding to the news organization and PBS.

Filed in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C., the suit was brought by NPR and three Colorado-based public radio stations. It argues that Mr. Trump’s executive order violates the First Amendment and provisions of the Public Broadcasting Act, which was passed by Congress in 1967. The plaintiffs also assert that Mr. Trump did not have the authority to stop federal funding for NPR and PBS, and his order should be invalidated as unconstitutional.

The order, NPR and the three stations said in their complaint, is “textbook retaliation” and discriminates based on viewpoint, which is a violation of the First Amendment.

Supreme Court Hands Trump A Major Victory With 6-3 Ruling– trendingpoliticsnews.com

The Supreme Court ruled in a 6-3 decision Thursday that President Donald Trump has the authority to fire independent federal regulators in a major affirmation of the executive branch’s authority.

The high court granted the Trump administration’s request to pause orders by federal judges that required government officials to allow board members at two independent federal agencies to stay in office after President Trump attempted to fire them. Chief Justice John Roberts had already issued an administrative stay, which temporarily put those orders on hold while the court reviewed the administration’s requests.

In effect, Thursday’s ruling extends that order while the litigation continues at the appellate court level and if necessary, the Supreme Court for a final ruling.

Under President Donald Trump’s administration, the permitting process for “critical mineral” mining is set to be more “transparent” as the greenlit projects will have a public review process.

The Federal Permitting Improvement Steering Council (Permitting Council) announced this adjustment on Friday to bring “increased transparency, accountability, and predictability” to the review process. This comes after the National Energy Dominance Council (NEDC) selected its “first wave” of “critical mineral” projects in accordance with Trump’s March 20 executive order on expanding “American mineral production.”

“This is just the beginning — many more projects are expected to be added to the list on a rolling basis over the next few weeks,” the announcement reads. NEDC flagged 10 initial projects in this “first wave” of domestic mining operations, outlined in the announcement.

“This is the first use of the Permitting Council’s transparency authority, and we look forward to showcasing the many benefits the Federal Permitting Dashboard can bring to critical infrastructure projects as part of President Trump’s Executive Order on increasing American mineral production,” Manisha Patel, Acting Executive Director at the Permitting Council, said in the statement.

Trump has been pushing to turn every federal agency into an effective tool for catching and deporting illegal immigrants. And wouldn’t you know it, acting IRS Commissioner Melanie Krause couldn’t handle doing the right thing and resigned.

And guess who’s likely to take her place? Gary Shapley, the IRS whistleblower who blew the lid off the Hunter Biden tax probe. He testified under oath that he faced retaliation simply for doing his job and cooperating with congressional investigators looking into the shady business dealings of the president’s son. Now, according to the Associated Press, Shapley is expected to be promoted to acting commissioner of the IRS.

Shapley and fellow IRS investigator Joseph Ziegler were sidelined from the Hunter Biden probe in December 2022 after raising serious concerns with their superiors. According to their testimony, the Justice Department under then-U.S. Attorney David Weiss repeatedly “slow-walked investigative steps” and stalled enforcement actions in the critical months leading up to the 2020 election.

Resisting police is a violent crime. It has always been a violent crime.

I know some of you may think that the police are disagreeable folk, but be forewarned that no matter what you think of them, there is no such thing as “nonviolent” resistance to arrest. If you are under that misapprehension, I can assure you, no matter what your political persuasion, that you’ll be relieved of those misapprehensions in a right hurry.

You would think this would be common sense. Even if police sometimes use excessive force to subdue a subject, the fact that they have to use force on someone who’s resisting arrest should be a non-issue. That’s especially true when law enforcement officers are subduing someone who’s acting in a threatening way toward a public official who’s a known target.

I say these things not because they’re controversial, but because they shouldn’t be. On Wednesday night, those hanging around social media got a first-hand demonstration of why some people leave their common sense at the door when they don’t like someone.

The suspect charged with setting Democratic Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro’s home on fire allegedly did so because of what the Jewish governor would “do to the Palestinian people.”

Cody Balmer told a 911 dispatcher over the phone why he lit Shaprio’s Harrisburg home on fire with his family inside in the hours of Passover night, PennLive reported, citing a search warrant. A district attorney has said the evidence could result in hate crime charges in a case that is sparking concerns about rising threats to government officials.

The warrant describes Balmer saying he “will not take part in [Shapiro’s] plans for what he wants to do to the Palestinian people,” PennLive reported. The suspect also allegedly said the governor needed to “stop having [his] friends killed” and that “our people have been put through too much by that monster.” The warrant reportedly said Balmer attacked the pro-Israel governor over his Jewish faith without elaborating.

President Donald Trump has officially urged Congress to begin the process of pulling federal taxpayer funding from left-wing media outlets NPR and PBS.

The New York Post reported Monday that Trump’s White House budget director Russ Vought drafted a memo asking GOP lawmakers to cut the funding.

The memo requests Congress to slash $1.1 billion allotted to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), as well as $8.3 billion that was allotted to USAID.

In the memo, Vought wrote:

“Since day one, the Trump Administration has targeted waste, fraud, and abuse in Federal spending through executive action, DOGE review, and other efforts by departments and agencies.

An internal memorandum, which was first reported by the Washington Post, said the proposal for fiscal year 2026 would allocate $28.4 billion to the State Department and the US Agency for International Development (USAID), which represents a decline of $27 billion from funding levels approved by Congress for 2025.

Humanitarian assistance would face cuts of 54%, while global health funding would fall by 55%, according to the memo.

In one of the most twisted, deranged, and bizarre plots against Trump’s life, 17-year-old Nikita Casap is being accused of murdering his parents in his plan to assassinate President Trump and run away to Ukraine.

According to CBS:

A Wisconsin teenager charged in the deaths of his parents faces wider allegations that he killed them to “obtain the financial means” to assassinate President Trump and overthrow the government, according to a recently unsealed federal warrant. Additionally, the warrant accuses the teen of aligning himself with racist, extremist neo-Nazi ideology and calling for violence as a way to “save the white race.”

Dr. Tom Shimabukuro, the former director of the CDC’s Immunization Safety Office under Joe Biden, appears to have allegedly deleted government data. The data feared lost is covid-19 vaccine results data that will show the true depth, breadth, and severity of side effects from the mandated covid-19 vaccines.

Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI) sent a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi, FBI Director Kash Patel, and acting HHS watchdog Juliet Hodgkins, to assure criminal investigative action was taken on this matter. He wrote “HHS officials recently informed me that Dr. Shimabukuro’s records remain lost and, potentially, removed from HHS’s email system altogether. Dr. Shimabukuro’s potential mishandling of his official records is highly concerning… Any attempt to obstruct or interfere with my investigatory efforts would be grounds for contempt of Congress.”
