U.S. District Judge Jamel Samper has denied a motion by New Jersey State Representative (D) LaMonica McIver to not face trial over charges related to her assault of a federal official. She was caught on video assaulting an ICE officer at an ICE detention facility in Newark, NJ.

A federal judge ruled Thursday that New Jersey Democrat Representative LaMonica McIver must face trial for assaulting a federal law enforcement officer outside an immigration detention facility in Newark.

U.S. District Judge Jamel Semper denied McIver’s demand to drop two of the three charges leveled against her. The judge rejected the Democrat’s claims that the charges were excessive due to a motive of political retribution, and that because she is an elected official she is immune from prosecution, Bloomberg reported.

McIver was charged with assaulting, resisting, and impeding law enforcement officers during a riot at Delaney Hall ICE detention facility in Newark in May.

A federal judge on Tuesday denied Milwaukee County Judge Hannah Dugan’s motion to dismiss charges against her for helping an illegal immigrant evade ICE agents.

Last month, a federal magistrate judge ruled that Hannah Dugan is not entitled to dismiss her federal case based on judicial immunity.

“Dugan moves to dismiss the indictment under Fed. R. Crim. P. 12(b) on the grounds that she, as a judge, is immune from criminal prosecution for judicial acts, that her prosecution violates the limits of federal power under the Tenth Amendment, and that the indictment could be dismissed under the canon of constitutional avoidance,” magistrate judge Nancy Joseph wrote.

A Democrat congresswoman is scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to face federal charges after allegedly obstructing Homeland Security agents during a chaotic scene at an immigration facility last month.

Rep. LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) has been indicted on three counts, including forcibly impeding federal officers during the attempted arrest of Newark Mayor Ras Baraka at the Delaney Hall immigration facility on May 9.

McIver has stated through her legal team that she intends to plead not guilty.

According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), the incident unfolded when McIver and two other members of Congress claimed they were conducting a “congressional oversight visit” that coincided with an organized immigration protest.

Federal agents said Mayor Baraka was initially granted access to a restricted area but refused to leave when ordered.

When officers attempted to arrest him for trespassing, McIver allegedly intervened physically, placing herself between the mayor and the officers, slamming her forearm into one agent and grabbing another by the arms, using force to block the arrest.

The DOJ notes that the first two charges against McIver each carry up to eight years in prison, while the third charge carries a maximum one-year sentence.

The case is being prosecuted by Acting U.S. Attorney Alina Habba, a former legal representative for President Donald Trump.

Boston Mayor Michelle Wu is facing severe backlash from the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the White House for comparing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to neo-Nazis on Wednesday.

Michelle Wu on Wednesday attacked agents, comparing their practice of wearing masks to “other groups that routinely wear masks,” including NSC-131, a New England group classified by the Anti Defamation League, Southern Poverty Law Center, and other far-left groups as a neo-Nazi group. “I don’t know of any police department that routinely wears masks,” she said.

However, ICE is not a police department, but a federal law enforcement agency under DHS. They regularly wear masks during enforcement operations to protect both their safety and the integrity of their enforcement operations.

Acting ICE Director Todd Lyons recently addressed the mask criticisms in a news conference, announcing the arrest of roughly 1,500 ICE targets in Wu’s home state of Massachusetts. “I’m sorry if people are offended by them wearing masks, but I’m not going to let my officers and agents go out there and put their lives on the line and their family on the line because people don’t like what immigration enforcement is,” he said.

A Wisconsin judge, Hannah Dugan, has pleaded not guilty to federal charges accusing her of helping an illegal immigrant evade arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents, the New York Post reports. The charges include obstruction of justice and concealing a person to prevent their discovery and arrest. Prosecutors allege that on April 18, Dugan escorted Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, who was facing domestic battery accusations, and his attorney out of her courtroom through a non-public jury exit to avoid ICE agents waiting to detain him.

A surveillance video of the incident has been released showing Dugan in her black robes speaking to federal agents who were reportedly there to arrest Flores-Ruiz.

It’s unclear what made left-leaning elected officials so emboldened to blatantly disrespect and stalk law enforcement, especially in the performance of their duties, but that is becoming far too common.

Aftyn Behn, a Democratic Tennessee State Representative, posted a video bragging about how she followed ICE troopers in her car to harass them. It’s unclear if she thought the video made her appear morally superior, but I would never recommend interfering with federal enforcement to get clicks.

How many times is she going to say her phone is dead? And have you ever met a more unlikely person? Nevertheless, this speaks volumes as to how entitled and emboldened many leftists have become…

Last week, a federal grand jury indicted Milwaukee County Circuit Judge Hannah Dugan on two counts stemming from an April incident where witnesses said she helped 30-year-old Mexico native Eduardo Flores-Ruiz, an illegal immigrant, evade an arrest from ICE that would have taken place outside of her courtroom.

As we’ve reported, Dugan allegedly steered Flores-Ruiz and his attorney out of her courtroom, where Flores-Ruiz had been for a pre-trial hearing on three misdemeanor counts of battery, and through the jury doorway instead of the main courtroom door, where members of ICE were waiting outside for his hearing to conclude.

Per the FBI charging document, Dugan stands accused of two U.S. Code violations: “Obstructing or impeding a proceeding before a department or agency of the United States” and “Concealing an individual to prevent his discovery and arrest.”

Dugan has pleaded not guilty. After her indictment, her attorneys filed a motion to dismiss on the grounds that “she is entitled to judicial immunity for her official acts.”
