Charlie Kirk Shooting

“The evidence that were obtained did provide us with DNA evidence in relation to items used during the commission of the crime, and then they were compared to Mr. Robinson.”

Agent Dave Hall with the Utah State Bureau of Investigation was called to the stand in the courtroom of Judge Tony Graf on Tuesday. Tyler Robinson’s defense attorney’s argued for the disqualification of the entire Utah County prosecutors’ office in the Charlie Kirk murder case.

Hall took the stand and was first questioned by prosecutors before being cross examined by Kathryn Nester.

Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin wants to see the entire county’s prosecutorial team dismissed and the case moved to another location due to alleged bias.

The defense team for Tyler Robinson argues prosecutors must be dismissed because a daughter of one of the state’s attorneys was at the September 10, 2025 event at Utah Valley State University.

“Defense attorneys argue that personal connection creates a risk the prosecution could be influenced by emotion rather than impartial judgment,” KUTV reported on Jan. 13.

After the assassination of Charlie Kirk in September 2025, church attendance and public proclamations of Christ have surged. Now, data reported by the Wall Street Journal reveals bible sales following his assassination increased by 36% in September. The news follows overall trends towards increased bible sales, as well as printed book sales in general.

Sales of Bibles have jumped over the past year, according to The New York Times.

Bible sales in 2025 have surged about 12 percent over last year, The New York Times reported on Tuesday. The report comes after sales of Bibles in the U.S. were also up in 2024, rising 22 percent through the end of October that year, according to The Wall Street Journal.

Meanwhile, total print sales hit around 707 million units during 2025 through mid-December, The New York Times reported, citing recent data from Circana BookScan. By comparison, that number is just three million less than the pandemic-era peak in 2021, and 57 million copies more than in 2019, per The New York Times.

“The [book] industry itself is in transformation, which is always very challenging,” Dominique Raccah, the publisher of Sourcebooks, told the outlet.

Moreover, sales of romance books have also continued to rise during 2025, according to The New York Times. Romance sales have increased about 5 percent this year, the outlet reported, citing data from BookScan.

Progressive podcast host, Jennifer Wlech, claimed on Saturday on her “I’ve Had It” podcast that Charlie Kirk “justified” his own assassination because he supported the Second Amendment.

She made her claims while reacting to a clip of Erika Kirk condemning those who had supported, mocked, or justified her husband’s assassination.

“The person that I heard that justified his death was him,” Welch said. “He’s the one that said on tape that if school kids die, but it means he gets to have a Second Amendment, then that’s what it’s going to be. He’s the one that justified it.”

“And I believe at the time of shooting, he was talking about gun violence at the time. That’s wild to me, number one. And then for her — I want to get your opinion on this as a Black man — for her to say that people are dehumanizing Charlie Kirk,” Welch told former CNN host Don Lemon.

Lemon agreed with Welch’s comments.

“Everyone I know prefaces it the same way that you do — he should still be alive. The man should not be dead. However, it is true he promoted guns, he did not want sensible gun legislation, and he said that you have to have a certain amount of casualties, so to speak, in order to have a Second Amendment. He did say that. And he happened to die that way. That’s fact,” he said.

But look, as someone who’s been in grief before, you know, I don’t know. You don’t know how someone’s going to react. But if people of color and members of the LGBTQ-plus community feel a certain kind of way about Charlie Kirk, I understand it because he was not kind to us. As someone who happens to be members of both of those, LGBTQ and a Black person, he wasn’t kind. His thoughts weren’t kind. His words weren’t kind.

“I’m not happy that he died at all. But I also did not like what he stood for when he was alive. And I think it’s okay to say that,” he added.

A social media user appeared to make a threat against Republican Sen. Mike Lee of Utah, who referred the message to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The user appeared to post a heinous meme mocking the horrific assassination of Charlie Kirk and added, “Your [sic] next buddy turn down the rhetoric.”

Former US Attorney Jay Town responded that the meme and the message could be prosecuted as a threat against the senator’s life.

Lee posted a screenshot of the alleged message, which was deleted from the X platform.

Left-wing podcaster Jennifer Welch demanded a boycott of CBS on Monday, saying progressives should seek to make an example of the network after it aired a town hall with Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erika Kirk.

Mrs. Kirk did a town hall with CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss that aired Saturday, during which she criticized those who justified the assassination of her husband and TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk. Welch claimed Weiss was turning CBS News into a “propaganda channel.” (

“Okay. So during this Bari Weiss CBS takeover and her first town hall is to roll out Erica Kirk. Mind you, we have so many problems in our country right now. You have a massive financial, uh, economic burdens for so many working-class Americans,” Welch claimed. “You have inflation out the wazoo, health care, all of these things. and she is bringing out Erika Kirk and it’s all they’ve covered for a week straight at CBS News.”

WATCH:

“And listen up, listener, we have agency and we have autonomy,” Welch continued. “Everybody needs to boycott CBS News. They do not get to just come in and say journalism doesn’t matter anymore, we are going to do a propaganda channel. Well, they can do it, but they can’t do it without our money. They cannot do it without our money. They cannot do it if we apply pressure to those advertisers. All of these fascists and all of these oligarchs think they control us and it’s our turn to remind them that we control them. Without our money, you’re nothing. Absolutely nothing. Look at what happened with Jimmy Kimmel.”

Turning Point USA leaders forced off campus at Illinois university after death threats

Leaders of a Turning Point USA chapter at Olivet Nazarene University have been forced off campus for their safety after receiving death threats.

University officials are investigating the threats and gave chapter president Jacob York accommodations to finish the semester virtually, Fox News reported.

The chapter’s vice president, Mara Hudson, who manages the group’s Instagram account, was also advised to go home.

“The Charlie Kirk Show” producer Blake Neff lambasted podcaster Candace Owens Wednesday for claiming that Turning Point USA (TPUSA) founder Charlie Kirk was “betrayed” by high-ranking members of the conservative student group, saying TPUSA would deliver a detailed response to her claims via a livestream.

Authorities arrested Tyler Robinson, 22, early in the morning of Sept. 12, accusing him of fatally shooting Kirk during a TPUSA event at Utah Valley University. Owens posted on X Tuesday that she would “be naming names and providing evidence” to support her allegations, which have involved French paratroopers, the Egyptian military and TPUSA leadership. (RELATED: ‘Holy Sh*t!’: Podcaster Aghast As Charlie Kirk’s Security Leader Reads Texts He Allegedly Sent University Police)

“For the past two and a half months, there is a topic that has flooded our freedom inbox, has been non-stop on social media, but which we have almost totally avoided on this show,” Neff said. “You probably already know what I’m talking about, which shows just how ubiquitous it has been. Ever since Charlie’s murder, Candace Owens has leveled a flood of allegations against people at Turning Point USA, people at Turning Point Action and people who work for this show. She’s made them against some of Charlie’s closest friends and against some of his most dedicated employees.”

Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “Outnumbered,” Erika Kirk, the Turning Point USA CEO and widow of assassinated conservative activist Charlie Kirk, addressed online conspiracies around her husband’s murder.

Kirk said, “It reminds me so much of Chapter Six in the book of Nehemiah. He is building a wall, and the townspeople are at the base of that hill saying, ‘Nehemiah,’ calling him all these names, saying all these things, ‘Come on down,’ Every single time, he had the same message four times in a row: ‘I cannot come down. I am busy building.’ That is how I feel.

She continued, “I do not have time to address the noise. My silence does not mean that I am complacent. My silence does not mean that somehow Turning Point USA and all of the handpicked staff that loved my husband and my husband loved them is somehow in on it. We are busy building. And you know what I thought? I thought these people are human. We are all grieving in our own way. And they are trying to find the answer to something that happened that was so evil. They are trying so hard. And I get that. We’re doing the same. Anytime we hear a lead or anytime we hear anything, we send it to the authorities. Please dig into this. No rock will be unturned. I want justice for my husband, for myself, for my family more than anyone else out there.”

A Utah courtroom erupted into controversy after the judge overseeing the Tyler Robinson murder case ordered the defendant’s parents and brother to leave the room during a closed session, rejecting a direct plea from the accused Charlie Kirk-killer’s attorney and intensifying scrutiny on how the high-profile proceedings are being handled.

The Thursday hearing marked Robinson’s first in-person appearance since being charged with assassinating conservative activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University earlier this year.

The brutal killing that shocked the nation is now moving toward a possible death penalty trial.

Robinson entered the Provo courtroom in civilian clothing but remained shackled.

He appeared calm, even smirking at times, as cameras captured his demeanor.

Blurb:

“I find that excluding the cameras from the courtroom would be disproportionate for this hearing.”

The judge overseeing the Utah case against Tyler Robinson, who has been charged with assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, ruled against the defense on Thursday, who requested that cameras be blocked from the hearing over multiple violations of a court order on filming. A date of February 3 was set for arguments on the matter of cameras in the courtroom during the trial.

The judge allowed cameras in court for the hearing, but whether or not cameras will be permitted during the trial is still open for discussion. Parties will argue about that February 3, after which Graf will make his ruling.

The defense said that January 30 “might be the one we want to save to argue our anticipated motion that’s coming about keeping cameras out of the courtroom and we will, I imagine the media will.” The judge said that there were complications surrounding the date, and the date of February 3 was agreed upon by the parties.

U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has announced that federal charges have been filed against a man who threatened to kill a prominent conservative political commentator and friend of the late Charlie Kirk.

George Isbell Jr., 69, was arrested last month in San Diego, California for allegedly threatening to kill conservative political commentator Benny Johnson. He will be federally charged in Florida with mailing a threatening communication, according to Bondi.

“Benny is a well-known media personality, carrying a message very similar to Charlie’s. Grounded largely in faith and love of country. Just days after Charlie’s assassination, Benny received a letter at his home where he and Kate are raising their beautiful, beautiful young family,” Bondi said. “The author of this letter made it very clear that he hated Benny because of his views, and he wanted Benny dead.”

“This was a coward hiding behind a keyboard who thought he could get away with this. That’s why we’re standing up here today. You are not going to get away with threatening people in this way. And I’m proud to announce that we have arrested the author of this letter,” the attorney general added.

The Biden administration hid critical information about Thomas Matthew Crooks — the person who shot President Donald Trump and three others in Butler, Pennsylvania — throughout the 2024 election, according to a report from the New York Post.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) under Biden appears to have knowingly lied to Congress, misled the American people, and, at best, was negligent in its duty to track Crooks after he reportedly made numerous statements about committing political violence and assassinations.

The NYP received information from a source showing that Crooks did have a history of significant online activity, despite then-Biden FBI Director Christopher Wray testifying that Crooks had no “online history that pointed to motive or political ideology.” Wray also attempted to downplay Trump’s being shot by suggesting he may have been hit with a piece of shrapnel from his podium, despite no evidence of that whatsoever.

Paul Abbate, former FBI deputy director under Wray, seemed to muddy the water even more, telling Congress that some social media accounts connected to Crooks “appear to reflect antisemitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence and are described as extreme in nature.”

That is true, but the posts Abbate was referring to — which appear to paint Crooks in some sort of right-wing extremism light — were quite a bit older than posts showing a left-wing, anti-Trump ideology Crooks seems to have adopted over time.

Student brags about getting Loyola U. New Orleans to reject TPUSA chapter

A Democratic student leader at Loyola University New Orleans bragged over the weekend about the impact of her advocacy when the student government denied an “official university organization” charter for Turning Point USA.

Juleea Berthelot, a student and vice president of National Students for a Democratic Society, made the remark during a panel discussion at a National Alliance Against Racist & Political Repression conference, which took place over the weekend in Chicago.

Two bills recently proposed to honor slain conservative activist Charlie Kirk on Oklahoma college campuses have prompted debate, with some professors arguing the proposals go too far and run afoul of the very principles Kirk espoused.

One week after Kirk’s assassination, Oklahoma state Sen. Shane Jett, who leads the Oklahoma Freedom Caucus, introduced the bills to honor the memory and legacy of the Turning Point USA founder.

The proposals seek to require Oklahoma’s public institutions of higher education to honor Kirk’s birthday, Oct. 14, as Charlie Kirk Free Speech Day, and “designate and develop a prominent area on its main campus as the ‘Charlie Kirk Memorial Plaza.’”

If any student, employee or faculty member vandalizes the plaza, they would be terminated from enrollment or employment and fined for the cost of the damage, the OU Daily student newspaper reported.

Conservative students report vandalism, protests at first meeting earlier this month

Students erupted in cheers after the Fort Lewis College senate voted this week to reject a request to recognize a new Turning Point USA chapter as an official student organization, according to a video of the meeting.

“Disappointing day for our college. They value ‘diversity’, but not diversity of thought. This will not stand,” the Fort Lewis TPUSA chapter wrote Thursday on X.

Senate President Asa Worthington announced the vote during the Associated Students of Fort Lewis College’s weekly meeting, describing it as a “difficult decision,” according to a video of the meeting, posted by Libs of TikTok. Fort Lewis is a public college in Colorado.

“In light of the opinions and concerns shared with us today on both sides of the discussion, … we have decided to deny Turning Point USA’s request to become an RSO1 at this time,” Worthington said.

The announcement resulted in cheers from a number of students in attendance.

Police in Boulder, Colorado are searching for a suspect accused of attacking a 19-year-old Turning Point USA student leader near the University of Colorado, Boulder on Thursday evening. The attacker is suspected to be an Antifa member.

The incident occurred at around 7 pm on Thursday evening in the 2700 block of Baseline Road. Officers arrived at the scene after the male victim who was out on his bicycle called 911 to report that he was assaulted by a man on roller blades. The suspect came up to the victim from behind and assaulted him both verbally and with a hockey stick. “The victim was not seriously injured and declined medical treatment,” Boulder Police said in a press release.

Utah Valley University socialist students protested a proposal to erect a statue of Charlie Kirk on campus, saying that they don’t want outsiders on campus and do not want to honor the slain Turning Point USA founder.

“We’re out here because we want to protest any sort of Charlie Kirk memorial,” Collin Grannis told Scripps News Service last week. “We don’t want his likeness on campus; we don’t want his likeness sort of immortalized.” Tyler Robinson is accused of assassinating Kirk on Sept. 10 at the public university in Orem, Utah during one of Kirk’s speaking events.

Grannis (pictured) is with UVU Students for a Democratic Society. The group held signs at their rally that said things like “No Kirk on Campus” and “Memorial For Unity Not Hate,” according to a blog post he created on Fight Back! News. The protest was reportedly just 200 feet from where Kirk was killed.

These people cannot get out of their own way. While not a story emanating from the United States, across the pond, our cousins in Britain ousted the president of the Oxford Union. Abaraonye brought the motion for a vote himself. When he lost, Abaraonye essentially claimed voter fraud—you cannot make this stuff up (via BBC):

The president-elect of the Oxford Union has lost a no-confidence vote after he was criticised for comments appearing to celebrate the death of Charlie Kirk.

The motion against George Abaraonye had met the required two-thirds threshold to oust the student from his position, the society has announced.

It comes after Mr Abaraonye reportedly posted on social media to seemingly welcome the attack on the US conservative activist in September.

Mr Abaraonye is disputing the no-confidence vote, telling the BBC people campaigning to oust him had “unsupervised access” to the email account collecting proxy ballots.

Florida teacher William Loggans was told by the Orange County School District he could not hang a post of slain American activist Charlie Kirk. The poster read: “Never underestimate the power of your voice and the impact you can have on the world when you speak up for what you believe in.”

The Florida teacher also had posters of Rosa Parks, MLK Jr., and others up as well. He sued the school district and won. Loggans said of the win, “Instead of being told what they can have or what kind of inspirational quotes they can have in the room and on the person, now they can hear different viewpoints. They can make up their own minds. And so, this is a clear victory for my students and, frankly, for students across this nation.”

After the assassination of TPUSA founder and American activist Charlie Kirk on September 10, 2025, his organization has received more than 62,000 requests to start or join a chapter in a local college or high school. Francis Howell Families spokesperson Chris Brooks spoke of the organization’s initiative with TPUSA to work with schools to provide alternative viewpoints to the leftist ones being pushed by government-employed “teachers.”

He said “Charlie Kirk’s mission was to engage in constructive dialog with anyone who would talk with him. We believe that mission should continue and want to help our youth have opportunities to engage in critical conversations about important topics…Students are already being taught leftist points of view and ideologies during the school day. Having voluntary student led clubs that focus on freedom, love of country, and constructive dialog with others is a small step towards helping students get a balanced view of the world and a greater understanding of our country.”
