Pope Francis spoke to a palliative care symposium in Canada and told those seeking alternatives to euthanasia and assisted suicide that killing people is a “failure to love.”

The head of the Catholic Church said “authentic palliative care is radically different from euthanasia, which is never a source of hope or genuine concern for the sick and dying.”

“All who experience the uncertainties so often brought about by sickness and death need the witness of hope provided by those who care for them and who remain at their side,” the pope said in his message to the symposium.

study released last week by big energy consultancy Wood Mackenzie says a Republican (i.e., Trump) win in November’s elections could “decelerate [the] energy transition,” and result in a reduction of “energy investment” of $1 trillion.

Anticipating a possible Trump victory, Wood MacKenzie’s study includes what it calls a “delayed transition” scenario, in addition to a “base case” assuming current policy trends, and a “net zero” case that assumes an acceleration of more and more debt-funded “green” subsidies at the federal level. The firm estimates its net zero scenario requires overall U.S. energy investments of $11.8 trillion in the coming 26 years, compared to $7.7 trillion in its base case and $6.7 trillion in the delayed transition case.

Iran’s President Ebrahim Raisi, who died in a helicopter crash on May 19, left behind a legacy of working to build a more multipolar world.

Progressives will point the finger and blame everyone under the sun for the criminality they condone, except those actually responsible for the crime. And Philadelphia Democrats have found their newest scapegoat: The business community.

A couple of months ago, certain districts in the city were forced to shut down by 11 p.m. as part of a new “business curfew” that is supposedly intended to prevent “bad, late-night behavior.” A new bill will now require additional business from 66th Street to Cheltenham Avenue to close by midnight.

From Maryanne Demasi Reports: “In 2018, a group of physicians and researchers petitioned the FDA to ‘immediately require the addition of boxed warnings and precautions [about Post-SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD)]’ on the drug labels and asked that ‘Dear Doctor’ letters be issued to prescribers to warn of such risks.

‘Even though the risk of PSSD may be rare, the condition is severe enough to sway someone’s decision to take the drug,’ said [psychiatrist Josef] Witt-Doerring.

‘They might have mild depression and decide they’ll do talk therapy instead of taking the small risk of permanent sexual dysfunction. It’s important for people to have informed consent,’ he added.

When name, image, and likeness (NIL) became a factor in college athletics, it became a powerful recruiting tool. Promises of lucrative endorsement deals and collectives offering big money can draw the attention of recruits.

But what happens when big NIL promises don’t pan out? Ask quarterback Jaden Rashada.

In 2022, as Rashada was getting ready to make his college decision, a booster from the University of Miami offered him an astonishing $9.5 million in NIL money. The Gator Collective, an NIL collective aligned with the University of Florida, countered with a whopping $13.85 in NIL deals over four years at the school. It was the largest known offer to a college prospect ever, and Rashada announced his commitment.

God is great, please respect my decision! IM HOME 🏡🐊. #GOGATORS🐊 #COMMITTED @coach_bnapier @CoachRyanO @kearycolbert pic.twitter.com/hZzav80fp5

The Biden administration is going after western coal producers with new rules published last week that eliminate new coal leases in the nation’s largest coal-producing region.

Last Thursday, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) announced the agency would halt additional leases to mine coal across the Powder River Basin, which runs through southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming and is the most productive stretch of coal reserves in the United States. The Washington Post described the administration’s move as the “biggest step yet to end coal mining.”

Larry Behrens, the spokesman for the energy nonprofit Power the Future, told The Federalist the agency’s decision illustrates a president who holds “nothing but contempt for affordable and reliable energy.”

Fulton County’s election board and director are unlawfully withholding election records from a GOP board member, a new lawsuit alleges.

Filed on Tuesday by Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections (BRE) member Julie Adams, a Republican, the suit contends that the board and Elections Director Nadine Williams are preventing Adams from “performing her statutory duties as a BRE member” by denying her “access to essential election materials and processes by which elections in Fulton County are conducted.” Adams was appointed to the position in January and took office the following month.

Democrat New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez gloated Tuesday that the Manhattan lawfare case against former President Donald Trump is achieving its goal of keeping him from campaigning.

Speaking to reporters outside Capitol Hill about Trump’s upcoming rally in the South Bronx, Ocasio-Cortez pointed out the former president is holding a rally in the deep-blue Empire State because he has a “legal version of ankle bracelet around him” and can’t easily campaign in battleground states.

“By the way, he’s doing [the rally] in the South Bronx not to make a point but because he’s got court and the man practically has the legal version of an ankle bracelet around him. And he can’t leave the five boroughs because he always has to be in court,” Ocasio-Cortez said. “And so it is truly an embarrassment to him.”

Alyssa Farah Griffin told her co-hosts Thursday on ABC’s “The View” that former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley (R) endorsing former President Donald Trump was a betrayal to her voters.

Griffin said, “I am disappointed but I’m not surprised. I lost all faith in all politicians quite some time ago. Maybe I’m being petty but if someone attacked my  intelligence, my family, my marriage and American democracy I probably wouldn’t then go back and support them and them military. Listen, Haley voters feel betrayed. A quick scan of her Instagram comments on this post itself and it’s just we feel betrayed by you. You told us why we should be fearful of him and now you flipped on it. I have always believed that the Haley voters actually were with her she was an aviator for something other than Trump.”

Now that president Biden and former president Trump have agreed to debate one another on CNN and ABC in the run up to November’s general election, there’s another candidate who wants in on that action.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who is running as an independent, has floated the idea of a presidential debate between himself and the presumptive Republican and Democratic nominees hosted on the social media platform X–formerly Twitter.

And Elon Musk appears to be on board.

Former FEC Chairman Bradley Smith, who agreed to provide expert testimony in Donald Trump’s high-profile hush money trial, has openly criticized the legal strategy employed by Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg.

Trump’s defense team was set to bring forward the seasoned expert from the Federal Election Commission to testify in the high-profile NY v. Trump case. However, their strategy hit a snag when Judge Juan Merchan dramatically limited the topics Smith could address, leading to his testimony being sidelined.

Speaking to Newsweek, Smith argues that Bragg’s theory is wrong and therefore could increase the defense’s ability to win on appeal if a conviction is made. Smith stated, “The legal theory on which the prosecution rests regarding possible [Federal Election Campaign Act] violations is wrong and this is an issue I care deeply about.”

Democrats and liberal media ranting and raving about Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has nothing to do with the veneration of the American flag. It is all about delegitimizing a Supreme Court over which they have no control.

Alito is being attacked over his wife (not him) briefly flying an upside-down American flag in a dispute with neighbors, and is now being attacked for flying the “Appeal to Heaven” flag, which the New York Times has decided is a pro-Jan. 6 riot symbol rather than a flag that goes back to the Revolutionary War and George Washington.

On the back of this, Democrats are demanding investigations. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) called it an “extraordinary breach” and is demanding Alito recuse himself from cases. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) did the same, saying it is part of “the Court’s ongoing ethical crisis.” With that, they are giving away the game.

Whatever anyone has to say about former President Donald Trump, one has to admit, the man has chutzpah, and a certain ability to make lemonade out of the sourest of lemons. His being restricted to New York in the ongoing, farcical “hush money” trial has hampered his campaigning; he’s making up for it with a few high-profile appearances, and now, on Thursday, he will cap it all with a typically Trumpian rally — in the South Bronx. Fox News’ Rachel Campos-Duffy, in advance of Thursday’s rally, took to the streets to talk to some of the regular folks about all things Trump and some of their responses were… interesting.

As Campos-Duffy toured the neighborhood, residents described Trump on “Fox & Friends” as being for the “little man” and that the former president has shown a lot of respect to the Bronx by visiting.

“Senior citizens cannot walk down the street. Our children are being killed. When you go to a grocery store, you can’t even buy anything anymore,” said Rev. Ruben Diaz Sr., president of New York’s Hispanic Clergy Association.

The Knights of Columbus have filed suit over what they say is a First Amendment violation, as the Biden administration’s National Park Service refuses to allow their tradition of a Catholic Mass on Memorial Day to honor fallen U.S. heroes.

On Memorial Day, for more than half a century, the Knights have had a Catholic Mass at Poplar Grove National Cemetery in Petersburg, Va. But enter “Catholic” Joe Biden, and suddenly the Knights are refused permission, with the claim of separating religious services from public grounds.

The Founders, of course, never meant separation of church and state (a phrase not in the Constitution) to keep religion out of the public square. They wanted religion in the public square, but they also wanted individuals from different faiths to have the freedom to practice their religion publicly. Unfortunately, the Feds don’t agree.

Joe Biden didn’t have a heavy schedule on Wednesday. He had one event scheduled, meeting with the President of Kenya, William Ruto at the White House.

But he shows now, each time he has an appearance, how he just keeps getting worse. As Biden went to greet with Ruto, who had just arrived in his car, a reporter asked him when he would be going to Africa. This is the leader of the free world, just spewing random things out of his mouth, like a child or someone who is not mentally well:

REPORTER: “When are you going to Africa, sir?”

President Joe Biden held a joint press conference with Kenyan President William Ruto on Thursday at the White House, where the two leaders pledged continued support for efforts to restore law and order in Haiti.

Widespread violence carried out by gangs led the interim prime minister of Haiti to resign earlier this year, and Kenya stepped up in the spring to lead a multinational security support mission to the country. Kenya is in the process of sending police from Nairobi to the island Caribbean nation.

The United States has helped coordinate the MSS, but Biden was asked Thursday why he won’t be sending U.S. troops to take part in the peacekeeping mission.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution reporter Tamar Hallerman was the first to report on Wade’s attendance and took to X and wrote, “Well consider me shook.”

The liberal media seem determined to declare anything a “symbol” of January 6 if they could use it to smear a conservative U.S. Supreme Court justice and manipulate upcoming rulings involving former President Trump. That much was clear during the Thursday morning newscasts of ABC, CBS, and NBC when they rallied to try to run a new conspiracy theory about Justice Samuel Alito up the flagpole to force him to recuse himself.

All three networks leaned heavily on a The New York Times report that Alito’s vacation home sported the Revolutionary War-era “An Appeal to Heaven” flag. But since two of the flags were seen during the riot at the Capitol, suddenly it was the “symbol” every “insurrectionist” was rallied behind. It was the second such “symbol” the media had declared to have discovered in as many weeks amid their effort to remove Alito.

NBC Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie gave away the game during her lead into the segment. “Also this morning, the calls are growing louder for Supreme Court Justice Alito to recuse himself from any cases related to January 6. This comes after another image has surfaced showing a second controversial flag on display at one of his properties,” she declared.

NBC Capitol Hill correspondent Ali Vitali concluded her guest hosting of MSNBC’s Way Too Early on Wednesday by welcoming Shefali Luthra, health reporter for The 19th News, to promote her new book, where Luthra claims that the left’s position that pro-lifers simply seek to control women is not just a lazy opinion, but a fact confirmed by “research.”

Vitali was all for the conclusion, “I want to read something that I read in your book. You say ‘it wasn’t until 1880 that every state had passed laws criminalizing abortion, a shift that was less about religion and more a product of a campaign orchestrated by a male-dominated medical establishment.’”

When compared to its network counterparts, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show is more likely to acknowledge that Democrats provide plenty of comedic material as evidenced by Tuesday’s show where Desi Lydic pretended to be Vice President Kamala Harris’s “holistic thought advisor” who is responsible for her various word salads. However, Wednesday’s show reverted back to the norm as Troy Iwata found the one man in America who is part of the Joe Biden personality cult, which naturally turned the show into a Biden 2024 commercial.
