A new poll from the Associated Press shows that a staggering majority of Democratic voters want Joe Biden to drop out of the 2024 election in favor of a younger, more mentally competent candidate.
As reported by Axios, the AP-NORC poll, released on Wednesday, saw 65% of Democratic respondents support the notion that Biden should withdraw ahead of the November election. Among overall respondents, 70% supported a Biden withdrawal, while just 57% believe President Donald Trump should withdraw.
But along party lines, President Trump has much stronger and more unified support among his base, with 73% of Republicans supporting his candidacy while a mere 26% want him to drop out. By contrast, only 35% of Democrats want Biden to stay in.
A similar poll from ABC News saw 67% of voters in favor of Biden dropping out, due in large part to most voters no longer viewing Biden as a “mentally sharp” candidate.

It would mark a major shift for Biden, the former head of the Senate Judiciary Committee, who has long resisted calls to reform the high court, though since taking office he has been increasingly vocal about his belief that the court is abandoning mainstream constitutional interpretation. The details were first reported by The Washington Post.
Any changes would require congressional approval, which would be unlikely in a divided Congress. But with Republican nominee Donald Trump bragging about putting the three justices on the high court who are now part of the conservative majority, Biden’s call for major changes could help animate his voters.
Biden is also considering calling for a constitutional amendment that would eliminate the broad immunity for presidents granted by the court in its most recent term, after Donald Trump claimed he was immune from prosecution for his actions on Jan. 6, 2021, when a mob of his supporters violently descended on the U.S. Capitol.

“Some of the public statements being made are highly irresponsible,” he said in an apparent reference to those on the woke left claiming that preventing children from puberty-blocking drugs would lead to the death of transgender children.
“I know there’s lots of fear and anxiety. I am determined to improve the quality of, and access to, care for trans people. The decisions I am taking will always be based on evidence, rather than politics or political pressure,” the Health Secretary said.

Net Neutrality was shut down by former President Donald J Trump. The revitalized net neutrality rules would have taken place July 22, 2024 had this ruling not occurred.

A US appeals on Friday said it was temporarily putting the Federal Communications Commission’s reinstatement of landmark net neutrality rules on hold until Aug. 5 as it considers industry legal challenges.
The FCC voted in April along party lines to reassume regulatory oversight of broadband internet and reinstate open internet rules adopted in 2015 that were rescinded under then-President Donald Trump. Representatives John Moolenaar (R-MI) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL), the chair and ranking member of the House Select Committee on China, want answers from the Biden administration about what U.S. military “secrets” have been passed on from Russia to China given the nature of their closer relationship.
Specifically, they want to have “an assessment regarding information Russia has gained about the capabilities of U.S. weapons provided to Ukraine and the degree to which this information has been shared with the People’s Republic of China…”

(WND News Center) — A new report details how deep the People’s Republic of China has embedded itself within the U.S. supply chain, especially for military machinery. While U.S. lawmakers have been calling for an end to this for some years, China’s domination continues unabated.
According to the report, China’s presence in the U.S. supply chain has been steadily rising for the better part of almost 20 years. From 2005 to 2023, Chinese manufacturers in the U.S. supply chain have grown from around 12,000 to almost 45,000.
The use of forced labor and dangerous working conditions gives China the ability to quickly churn out products, while keeping cost savings at a premium.
Between 2014 and 2023, the data presents a concerning trend of China outpacing U.S. supply chains across almost all industries, by 1,800 percent in some instances – including electronics, transportation, materials and chemicals, and industrial equipment.
A large number of Chinese semiconductors are used in critical military platforms, accounting for around 40 percent of all U.S. Department of Defense weapons systems and infrastructure, and are further linked to military supply chains such as Patriot air-defense missiles and B-2 bombers.

A bipartisan duo of lawmakers are pressing the Biden administration to produce an assessment of the information Russia has obtained about U.S. military capabilities and the extent to which it has shared this intelligence with China.
Reps. John Moolenaar (R., Mich.) and Raja Krishnamoorthi (D., Ill.), the chair and ranking member of the House Select Committee on China, instructed the White House on Monday to provide them “an assessment regarding information Russia has gained about the capabilities of U.S. weapons provided to Ukraine and the degree to which this information has been shared with the People’s Republic of China (‘PRC’) as part of their bilateral ‘no limits’ partnership,” according to a copy of the letter.
China serves as a key ally to Russia amid its ongoing war in Ukraine and has helped Moscow replenish its weapons supplies and other offensive capabilities. This support is not free, the lawmakers say, and “we should anticipate and indeed operate under the assumption that Russia is passing information about vulnerabilities or counters to American and allied weapons systems to the PRC.” Intelligence sharing between China and Russia could help both nations counter the American military should war break out in the Asia-Pacific region—where Beijing has long threatened to invade Taiwan—or expand in Europe.
On the heels of a major NATO conference last week in Washington, D.C., the lawmakers remain concerned that Chinese aid is the primary reason Russia has been able to sustain its assault on Ukraine for so long, support that has come with little pushback from the international community.
“As the United States and our NATO allies described this week, the PRC has become a ‘decisive enabler’ of the Russian war in Ukraine. As one administration official has disclosed, the PRC is ‘90 percent of the reason’ Russia has been able to sustain its war effort and economy, particularly in the face of western sanctions,” the lawmakers write. “The PRC has provided Russia with significant amounts of microelectronics, dual-use equipment, imagery, and other tools to support its war machine, in addition to helping improve satellite and other space-based capabilities.”
Capistrano Unified School District in Orange County, CA has a school policy that “protects” the identities of students from their parents when they choose to adopt non-cis, non-binary, or trans identities. The nonprofit law firm Center for American Liberty learned of the policy, called “The Individual Transition Plan” through a FOIA request.

Capistrano Unified School District in southern Orange County, California, allows students to change their name and gender in school records without parental permission.
The Individual Transition Plan, obtained by the nonprofit law firm Center for American Liberty through a California Public Records Act request, asks the counselor filling it out whether the child’s parents “need to know” about their child’s transition. It later asks the student to respond with “yes” or “no” to the statement: “My parents/guardians are aware of my transition.”
Parental signatures are optional to finalize the transition plan. The form is not publicly available on the district’s website.
