In May, a New Zealand newspaper reported an 18-year-old female was admitted to the emergency room after attempting to remove her own breasts due to anxiety over an upcoming pool party. Despite New Zealand having universal health care, which covers “gender-affirming” medical options, this case has been widely reported as evidence of a larger system that discriminates against transgender-identifying people.

LGBTQ Nation, for example, argues, “The lack of gender-affirming care drove [her] to this desperate act.” Another New Zealand site declared, “Call for better access to gender-affirming surgery after Kiwi teen attempts to remove own breasts at home.” The teenager was already taking testosterone and was on a waiting list for an elective double mastectomy, covered by the country’s health care system.

The latest target of leftist iconoclasts is a Revolutionary War-era flag emblazoned with an unassuming pine tree and the words “An Appeal to Heaven,” which was seen flying outside Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito’s New Jersey vacation home.

Predictably, these four words have caused left-wing media outlets, such as Slate, to panic as any appeal to God by government officials instantly sends leftists into hysterics about the rising threat of “Christian nationalism.”

If you’ve been following former President Donald Trump’s hush-money trial in New York, you might have seen the shocking news that the judge in that trial, Juan Merchan, issued bizarre and plainly unconstitutional jury instructions on Wednesday, telling jurors they need not agree on what crime Trump allegedly committed to reach a unanimous guilty verdict.

You read that right. According to Judge Merchan, the jury could come back with a guilty verdict without agreeing on whether Trump committed election fraud, tax fraud, or falsification of business records. He essentially divided the jury into three groups of four, saying that if they’re split 4-4-4 on what crime Trump committed, he’d treat that as unanimous. To say this is unusual is of course a gross understatement. As Guy Benson noted on X, it amounts to a “choose your own adventure” jury instruction.

US District Judge Sidney Stein told prosecutors they could not use text messages from 2019 between an Egyptian official and Sen. Bob Menendez’s co-defendant Wael Hana (D-NJ) due to the Constitution’s Speech or Debate Clause.

The ruling also applies to the 2022 texts between Menendez’s wife Nadine and Hana when she “allegedly forwarded a link to Hana about two military sales to Egypt worth about $2.5 billion, writing, ‘Bob had to sign off on this.’”

No texts could cause problems for the government’s case against Menendez regarding Egypt and military aid. Menendez and his wife Nadine face charges of accepting bribes in exchange for those favors.

Now, a year later, Rufo is optimistic that Americans, including some to left of center politically, are “waking up.” He attributes the change to the gruesome and deadly Oct. 7, 2023, attack by Hamas and the Left’s unflinching (and often antisemitic) criticism of Israel that followed.

“After 10/7, when those same people who were marching for [Black Lives Matter], who were pushing trans in schools, who were ramping up DEI, when they’re out there celebrating the terrorists who butchered, raped, and murdered innocent people, I think it caused this moment of horror, but also this moment of clarity,” Rufo told The Daily Signal.

Webster Groves High School hosted a workshop in late April called “Understanding Gender and Relationships” presented by a speaker with a program run by the St. Louis-based domestic abuse treatment center Safe Connections.

Before and after the guest speaker’s lecture, the health teacher instructed students to take the survey.

Webster Groves High School is part of Webster Groves School District, which enrolls 4,407 students across 10 schools.
