Ohio Sen. J. D. Vance reminded the public on Monday that the judge overseeing the Manhattan lawfare case against former President Donald Trump has a daughter who is a Democrat political operative. It’s an entirely true statement, yet it’s one Trump is prohibited from making himself thanks to a gag order from partisan Judge Juan Merchan — which is why congressional Republicans must show up daily to serve as a voice for the former president and 2024 front-runner.

“The thing that the president is prevented from saying, which is a disgrace, is that every single person involved in this prosecution is practically a Democratic political operative. The judge inside, his daughter is making millions of dollars running against Donald Trump, raising money for Donald Trump’s political opponents,” Vance said outside the courthouse. Notably, Judge Merchan himself donated to Biden’s campaign.

Vance’s comments echoed those of Florida Sen. Rick Scott, who joined Trump last week when pornographer Stormy Daniels took the stand. Scott also noted that the daughter of the judge overseeing the case “is a political operative and raises money for Democrats.”

South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem is no longer welcome in about 20 percent of her state after two Native American tribes banned her from their reservations after remarks that tribal leaders benefitted from the drug cartels, according to CBS News. While unclear if this will be politically damaging, it’s another headache for the governor, who has experienced a whirlwind of bad press over her controversial memoir, where she details how she dragged the family dog, Cricket, to a hole and shot it to death.

CBS News added that observers feel that Noem stoking the tensions with tribal leaders could be a way to divert attention from the killing of Cricket. It wouldn’t be the first time the Noem administration has had problems with the tribes; from supporting the Keystone Pipeline, along with establishing COVID checkpoints during the pandemic to prevent unsolicited entries into the reservations, also rubbed tribal leaders the wrong way (via CBS News):

Hillary Clinton’s recent criticism of some of the pro-Hamas protesters demonstrating on college campuses across the U.S. did not sit well with Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).

Last Thursday, Clinton said the students who have been demonstrating on college and university campuses “don’t know very much at all about the history of the Middle East, or frankly about history in many areas of the world, including in our own country.”

The Maryland Democrat, who has been critical of how the Biden administration has handled Israel’s war against Hamas, disagreed with Clinton’s assessment.

“I thought, Margaret, that Secretary Clinton’s comments, in that regard, were quite dismissive of students’ concerns about the awful humanitarian crisis and high civilian death toll in Gaza,” he said Sunday on CBS’s “Face the Nation.”

Allege school officials have ‘militarized’ campus, ‘brutally punished’ student protesters

First it was Columbia University students — now “hundreds” of the school’s faculty and staff are planning to go on strike unless officers from the New York Police Department vacate the campus.

The strike will be limited, however; the Columbia Spectator reports the potential strikers still will “do work that directly serves students.”

This means professors won’t “withhold grades, recommendation letters, or other ‘student-serving’ work.”

Those planning to strike said in a Friday press release that the NYPD “has created an unsafe work environment,” most especially for members of minority communities “who are disproportionately profiled by police.”

A District of Columbia judge who let an 18-year-old shooter go out on bail earlier this month was found to be engaging in progressive activism on social media.

Lloyd U. Nolan, Jr., who serves in the D.C. Superior Court as a magistrate judge, released Amonte Moody and put him under house arrest despite vehement opposition from prosecutors, according to reporting from Fox News and WUSA-TV.

The accused, a black male, allegedly opened fire from an AR-15 at 2:19 a.m. on April 22 near the intersection of 17th Street and Independence Avenue, SE, according to WUSA.

According to an article in The Guardian over the weekend, the threat level to humans appears to be much higher than we were led to believe. According to virologist Professor Paul Digard, who has been studying the current outbreak:

“Flu is constantly evolving, and it is clear that a couple of years ago, the current strain of bird flu changed to become supercharged,” says Digard. “Now that it seems to be fairly widespread in the cow population in the US, that’s a much more direct route where it could transmit to people and gain the adaptations it needs to go pandemic.”

A former Florida elementary school principal previously accused of child molestation is facing several criminal charges after allegedly trapping a student inside a room for almost an hour and viciously assaulting the child.

As Click Orlando reported, 33-year-old Dontay Akeem Prophet, the principal at Destiny Leadership Academy in Ocala, was arrested Saturday on charges of aggravated child abuse and false imprisonment of a child under 13.

Shocking surveillance footage shared by police shows Prophet entrapping the little boy inside a classroom for over 40 minutes. The principal proceeds to grab the student by the arm before holding him down and placing him in a chokehold.

Prophet then starts using a charging cable to hit the child, causing the helpless student to fall. The horrifying assault only gets worse as the sick principal twists the child’s ankle, slaps him in the face, and subjected him to even more awful physical abuse.

Harvard University came to an agreement with its encamped pro-Palestinian protesters on Tuesday, negotiating the end to the encampment with some concessions to the agitators.

The end to the encampment came as organizers of Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine successfully negotiated the reinstatement of at least 22 students from involuntary leave for their participation. The group also secured a meeting with university governance to discuss financial disclosure and divestment from Israel-related entities.

“Yesterday, the Harvard Out of Occupied Palestine (HOOP) coalition democratically voted to end its encampment after 20 days,” the group, which is not recognized as an organization by Harvard, wrote in a Tuesday morning statement.

“We are under no illusions: we do not not believe these meetings are divestment wins,” HOOP added. “These side-deals are intended to pacify us away from full disclosure & divestment. Rest assured, they will not.”

Hunter Biden‘s latest attempt to prevent his federal firearms case from going to trial has been quashed, with Judge Maryellen Noreika confirming that proceedings will commence as planned in the first week of June.

Lawyers for the president’s son asked the Third United States Circuit Court of Appeals to reverse Noreika’s recent rejection of their bid to dismiss the case, however, the three-judge panel sided with her on Thursday and ordered that the trial go forth.

According to the Associated Press, the panel ruled the way it did not because it had reviewed the merits of the request, but rather because they simply did not have the jurisdiction to adjudicate on the issue at hand.

Shortly after the Court of Appeals’ ruling, Noreika declared that the trial would begin on June 3 and likely last between three and six days.
