Georgia police said one suspect is in custody after a high school shooting Wednesday morning that resulted in casualties and injuries.
The shooting was reported at the Apalachee High School in Winder about 10:45 a.m. Winder is about an hour northeast of Atlanta.

In court, Judge Currie Mingledorff informed Gray of his rights and initially said the maximum penalty in his case was the death sentence or life in prison. He later called Gray back into the courtroom to correct the maximum penalty, telling the teen that because of his young age, the maximum he could face is life in prison with or without parole.

GBI officials announced the arrest of 54-year-old Colin Gray in connection with the Georgia high school shooting on Wednesday, which killed four people and injured nine others. Colin Gray is charged with four counts of involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree murder and eight counts of cruelty to children, according to officials.
Colt Gray was arrested Wednesday morning after officials had received calls of a shooting occurring at the high school. GBI Director Chris Hosey and Barrow County Sheriff Jud Smith confirmed during a press conference the 14-year-old had been a student at the school and will be “tried as an adult.”

The FBI has confirmed that the alleged shooter who killed two students and two teachers and wounded nine others at a Georgia high school Wednesday has been on its radar as a possible threat since last year.
In a joint statement, the FBI’s Atlanta field office and Jackson County Sheriff’s Office said the agency’s National Threat Operations Center received an anonymous tip about threats posted online regarding a possible school shooting in May 2023.
The agencies said that the threats contained images of guns.
Within 24 hours of receiving the anonymous tip, investigators determined the threats originated in Georgia and the matter was referred to the sheriff’s office.

On Friday, city officials confirmed to Fox News Digital that a pilot project has been launched that provides migrants $4000 to help transition out of city shelters.
The NYC Department of Homeless Services (DHS) offered 150 families cash assistance through the Asylee Moveout Assistance (AMA), a pilot created in December last year to help find permanent housing for asylum seekers. The pilot was launched in partnership with some city shelters providing services for asylum seekers.
“The city is using every tool at its disposal to implement innovative and cost-effective solutions to help recently-arrived asylum seekers residing in shelters take the next steps in their journey,” a Department of Social Services (DSS) spokesperson told Fox News Digital.
DHS officials in December started dispensing $4000 to 150 households who live in the city’s emergency DHS shelters.
“Since December, DSS has been working with a few not-for-profit providers operating emergency sites to pilot a new effort to reduce barriers to obtaining housing by helping asylum-seeking families who have identified permanent housing with the upfront cost of moving into their new home,” the DSS spokesperson said.

GUATEMALA CITY — The U.S. government announced Thursday that it secured the release of 135 Nicaraguan political prisoners, who have arrived in Guatemala where they will apply for entry to the United States or other countries.
National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said in a statement that they were released on humanitarian grounds.
“No one should be put in jail for peacefully exercising their fundamental rights of free expression, association, and practicing their religion,” Sullivan said.
Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for Western Hemisphere Affairs Eric Jacobstein, speaking with reporters, said that the Nicaraguan government received nothing in exchange for the prisoners’ release and the negotiation signaled no change in U.S. policy toward the government of President Daniel Ortega.

On July 13, 2024, President Trump was shot in the ear during a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. The suspected shooter, Thomas Crooks, was seen staking out the area before the attack.
Crooks managed to carry a gun onto the roof, traverse from one building to another, and move around on the roof before climbing up the metal structure and opening fire on President Trump.
Several Trump supporters were standing nearby screaming at police to take action, who did nothing before Crooks started firing off eight shots at the former president.
Since that day, there are still no answers on how Crooks managed to fire several shots at President Trump during the rally, or why Trump was allowed on stage despite the security lapses.
It has since been revealed that former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle and the agency rejected multiple requests from concerned agents on President Trump’s detail for increased security. The requests were denied.
On Tuesday, Senator Josh Hawley revealed startling information from a whistleblower. The whistleblower reported that Homeland Security personnel assigned to President Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, received only a “two-hour online webinar” as their training before they were tasked with protecting him.
Senator Hawley included this in his letter:
“Whistleblower allegations to my office report that the only training received by many HSI agents reassigned to work protective details is a single two-hour webinar on Microsoft Teams featuring pre-recorded videos… These videos were not substantive and their playback was frequently riddled with technical mishaps leaving the HSI agents ill-prepared for the protective mission to which they were newly assigned.”
DHS denied the Trump campaign’s requests for additional agents, and most of the agents assigned to the Butler rally received only a “two-hour online webinar” for their training.

Democratic New Jersey Sen. Bob Menendez resigned his seat in the Senate on Tuesday, according to multiple outlets.
The Senate Democrat announced his resignation following his conviction in a bribery scheme involving three New Jersey businessmen and the Egyptian government. Democratic New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy has signaled that he will replace Menendez with George S. Helmy, a healthcare executive and his former chief of staff.
A federal court in July found Menendez guilty of taking actions that would benefit the Egyptian government in exchange for bribes, including writing a letter to his fellow senators advocating for sending military aid to Egypt and providing the foreign government with personnel information related to the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, The Associated Press reported. Federal authorities found over $100,000 worth of gold bars and $480,000 in cash hidden in the now-former senator’s home.

Biden-Harris Admin Stonewalls Congressional Probe Into US Nonprofits Bankrolling Pro-Hamas Protests
The Biden-Harris administration is stonewalling a congressional probe into 20 anti-Israel nonprofit groups with suspected links to money laundering and terrorism financing, the Washington Free Beacon has learned. Lawmakers are teasing a subpoena as a result.
Congress initiated the probe in mid-May, instructing the Treasury Department to hand over “suspicious activity reports” related to organizations that are bankrolling “illegal and antisemitic activities” across America, including on college campuses and in major cities nationwide. Those organizations include Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP), American Muslims for Palestine (AMP), and the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).
Lawmakers say the financial reports are vital to their oversight investigation. More than three months after lawmakers first requested the documents, the Treasury Department still “has not produced” a single record related to the investigation, according to Reps. James Comer (R., Ky.) and Virginia Foxx (R., N.C.), the respective chairs of the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability and Committee on Education and the Workforce.
If the Biden-Harris administration continues to impede the investigation, the lawmakers are prepared to subpoena the relevant records, according to a letter sent Wednesday to the Treasury Department and exclusively obtained by the Free Beacon.
15 states have come together to sue the Biden administration over its intentions to provide free healthcare to illegal aliens, specifically so-called “Dreamers.” The complaint claimed, “Aliens granted deferred action under DACA are not included in the definition of such qualified aliens… DACA recipients are, by definition, unlawfully present in the United States.”
A partnership of 15 states, led by Kansas, has filed a lawsuit to block the federal government from providing taxpayer-funded healthcare through the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to illegal immigrants. Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach, joined by attorneys general from 14 other states, filed the lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the District of North Dakota, Western Division. The lawsuit targets the U.S. government and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) as defendants.
The core of the lawsuit is a recent CMS rule that expands the definition of individuals “lawfully present” in the U.S. to include recipients of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). The change would make DACA recipients eligible for ACA benefits, a move the coalition of states argued is both illegal and financially burdensome.
The complaint argued that DACA recipients, who are unlawfully present in the U.S. by definition, should not be eligible for federal public benefits under the ACA. The states assert that this CMS rule violates the 1996 Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA), which restricts eligibility for federal benefits to certain qualified aliens. The lawsuit contends that DACA recipients do not fall within this category.
“Aliens granted deferred action under DACA are not included in the definition of such qualified aliens,” the complaint states. It further argued that “DACA recipients are, by definition, unlawfully present in the United States.”
The Bureau of Labor Statistics released a report that shows new jobs reported between March of 2023 and March of 2024 were overreported by 818,000 jobs. This means nearly 1/3 of the total amount of jobs the Biden/Harris administration claims to have made during this time, 2.9 million total jobs, just disappeared, or were really never there at all.
The Biden-Harris administration admitted on Wednesday that more than 800,000 of the jobs it claimed to have created last year don’t exist.
An annual revision by the Bureau of Labor Statistics revealed that the U.S. economy added 818,000 fewer jobs from March 2023 to March 2024 than originally reported. According to CNBC, “the actual job growth was nearly 30% less than the initially reported 2.9 million from April 2023 through March of this year.”
“The revision to the total payrolls level of -0.5% is the largest since 2009,” the report reads.
This review of Wednesday’s figures found that “[a]t the sector level, the biggest downward revision” came in “professional and business service,” in which “job growth was 358,000 less than initially reported.” The manufacturing; trade (including retail positions), transportation and utilities; and leisure and hospitality sectors also saw downward revisions.
Wednesday’s revisions are not an anomaly, however. The Biden-Harris administration has regularly overestimated job growth in recent years, only to later revise those totals downward in the months that followed.
Last year, for example, “the government … overestimated the job growth for the 12-month period ending March 2023 by 306,000,” according to Forbes. A December 2022 analysis by the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia estimated that the administration overstated the number of jobs created during that year’s second quarter by more than one million, The National Desk reported.

Similarly a New York Times/Siena College poll, also released last week, found Harris with a slight lead in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
However, a newer survey conducted by Navigator Research published Tuesday shows the race is essentially tied across Arizona, Michigan, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.
Broken down individually, Trump is ahead of Harris by one percentage point in Arizona (46 to 45 percent) and two points in Pennsylvania (46 to 44 percent), while the other three states are tied.
Trump Says He Would Be Open To A Cabinet Position For RFK Jr. Amidst Endorsement Rumors
Former President Donald Trump told reporters that he would be open to offering independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. a spot in his cabinet if he suspends his campaign and endorses the former president.
“I like him, I respect him,” Trump told CNN’s Kristen Holmes during a campaign stop in Michigan.
“He’s a brilliant guy. He’s a very smart guy. I’ve known him for a very long time,” the Republican presidential nominee added. “I didn’t know he was thinking about getting out, but if he is thinking about getting out, certainly I’d be open to it.”
Trump’s comments come after Kennedy’s running mate, Nicole Shanahan, revealed during a podcast appearance Tuesday that Kennedy is considering an exit. The campaign is currently debating whether to stay in the race, or suspend operations and endorse former President Trump.
“There’s two options that we’re looking at,” Shanahan said. One option would involve staying in the race in order to lay the groundwork for another bid in 2028, “or we walk away right now and join forces with Donald Trump,” Shanahan explained.
Georgia Election Board Puts Dent in Democrat Plans to Cheat in Elections
The Georgia State Election Board has implemented a reform that will make it a little bit harder for Democrats to cheat in this year’s elections.
The SEB adopted a new rule that would limit the number of votes in each district to the number of actually registered voters that area has in the system. So, the number of ballots would have to be the same or fewer than the number of voters.
The rule ensures that counties comply with Georgia state code. It comes after Fulton County was found to have likely scanned thousands of ballots twice in a recount of the 2020 election.
“The purpose of the rule is to ensure that county superintendents and boards of elections follow the required procedures and can uniformly, properly, and lawfully fulfill their duties, and reconcile the number of ballots to the number of voters so that certification of election results accurately reflects the will of the voters in every county,” the rule reads.
“The rule is built on basic, kindergarten math,” Election Integrity Network Founder Cleta Mitchell said Monday. “Count the number of voters, confirm that the number of voters match the number of ballots. Those numbers should match and should be the same as the number of votes tabulated. The duty for election officials to certify CORRECT results is required under the statute. The rule just makes sure it happens in every county.”

Broken down individually, Trump is ahead of Harris by one percentage point in Arizona (46 to 45 percent) and two points in Pennsylvania (46 to 44 percent), while the other three states are tied.
Georgia Election Board Puts Dent in Democrat Plans to Cheat in Elections
The Georgia State Election Board has implemented a reform that will make it a little bit harder for Democrats to cheat in this year’s elections.
The SEB adopted a new rule that would limit the number of votes in each district to the number of actually registered voters that area has in the system. So, the number of ballots would have to be the same or fewer than the number of voters.
The rule ensures that counties comply with Georgia state code. It comes after Fulton County was found to have likely scanned thousands of ballots twice in a recount of the 2020 election.
“The purpose of the rule is to ensure that county superintendents and boards of elections follow the required procedures and can uniformly, properly, and lawfully fulfill their duties, and reconcile the number of ballots to the number of voters so that certification of election results accurately reflects the will of the voters in every county,” the rule reads.
“The rule is built on basic, kindergarten math,” Election Integrity Network Founder Cleta Mitchell said Monday. “Count the number of voters, confirm that the number of voters match the number of ballots. Those numbers should match and should be the same as the number of votes tabulated. The duty for election officials to certify CORRECT results is required under the statute. The rule just makes sure it happens in every county.”
DNC Posts Lackluster Ratings, Down 22 Percent From 2016
Ratings for night one of the Democratic National Convention were slightly up from 2020, though overall ratings remain down significantly since 2016.
The first night of the DNC drew an average of 20.3 million viewers Monday, ranking slightly higher than the opening night of the Republican National Convention, which took place just days after former President Donald Trump was nearly assassinated.
Monday night’s coverage also served as President Biden’s farewell address to the party after he announced he would be suspending his re-election campaign, giving the first night an added draw over the RNC.
Nielson ratings account for coverage from ABC (2.8 million), CBS (2 million), NBC (1.8 million), Scripps News, Univision, CNN (3.2 million), CNNe, Fox Business, Fox News Channel (2.4 million), MSNBC (4.6 million), Newsmax, NewsNation, and PBS. The numbers account for viewers tuning in between 9 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Central Time.
The numbers are likely higher for both conventions, as Nielson ratings do not factor in significant numbers of online and live-streaming viewers.

At the Democratic National Convention, delegates took part in a symbolic roll call vote, echoing their earlier decision to nominate Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democrat presidential candidate. However, some DNC delegates have expressed their hesitations about casting their vote for Harris, as they remain uncommitted until their concerns regarding Gaza are addressed.
The vote, merely a formality following a virtual nomination earlier this month, saw 44 delegates choose to vote “present,” a Daily Caller review reported.
The “uncommitted” trend began with February’s Listen to Michigan campaign, a grassroots initiative that rallied voters to make protest votes during the state’s primary. Surpassing expectations, the campaign secured more than 13 percent of the vote. Building on this momentum, the movement spread nationally, prompting voters in liberal states like Hawaii, Washington, and Minnesota to cast enough “uncommitted” ballots to send similarly minded delegates to the convention.

Tim Walz dances around controversy during DNC speech, mentions IVF; wife references ‘command sergeant major’ rank
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz (D) formally accepted the Democratic vice presidential nomination at the Democratic National Convention on Wednesday night.
The evening’s theme was “a fight for our freedoms,” and Walz gave a speech thanking Vice President Kamala Harris (D) for inviting him to be a part of the campaign and President Joe Biden (D) for his leadership.
“It’s the honor of my life to accept your nomination for the vice president of the United States,” Walz said.
Walz went on to talk about growing up in a small town, serving in the military, teaching, and running for Congress.
“Then I came back to serve as governor, and we got right to work making a difference in our neighbors’ lives,” Walz stated. “We cut taxes for the middle class. We passed paid family and medical leave. We invested in fighting crime and affordable housing. We cut the costs of prescription drugs and helped people escape the kind of medical debt that nearly sank my family. And we made sure that every kid in our state gets breakfast and lunch every day.”
“So while other states were banning books from their schools, we were banishing hunger from ours,” he continued. “We also protected reproductive freedom because in Minnesota we respect our neighbors and the personal choices they make.”
“And even if we wouldn’t make those same choices for ourselves, we’ve got a golden rule: Mind your own damn business,” Walz declared before reaffirming his support for in vitro fertilization.
“This is a big part of what this election is about: freedom,” Walz remarked.
‘Squad’ Members Rally Around Uncommitted Delegates Staging DNC Sit-In Over Lack of Speaker Slot
CHICAGO—Several members of the left-wing “Squad,” including Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.), joined uncommitted Democratic National Convention delegates who staged a sit-in outside the United Center over the party’s denial of their request for a speaking slot.
Omar and Rep. Summer Lee (D., Pa.) sat with the delegates near the north entrance to the United Center, where vice presidential nominee Tim Walz spoke Wednesday evening. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) called in to endorse the demonstration, and Reps. Ayanna Pressley (D., Mass.) and Rashida Tlaib (D., Mich.) expressed solidarity.
