The whistleblowing student joined Walz on a trip to Communist China when Kamala Harris’s running mate was working as a teacher.

Largely unknown to the American public until recently, Walz was a frequent traveler to Communist China during his teaching career.

Walz even set up a company, Educational Travel Adventures, that took students on summer trips to China.

Democratic Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz’s department of labor in 2023 approved a six-figure contract to a group that has aggressively advocated defunding the police to promote a labor law he signed last year.

The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry in 2023 approved a $100,000 contract to Centro De Trabajadores Unidos En La Lucha (CTUL) to “increase worker knowledge and understanding” of the earned sick and safe time law Walz signed, state records show. CTUL has an extensive history of anti-police activism, ranging from participation in the 2020 demonstrations over the death of George Floyd to a campaign it’s currently running to siphon funding away from law enforcement and into “social programs,” per materials published by the organization.

CTUL’s office, located a block away from where Floyd died, was a “hub of protest” during the demonstrations over his death, according to Dissent Magazine. Members of the organization handed out food, water and masks to protestors, with some CTUL activists participating in the protests themselves.

DNC bumped James Taylor due to speech overruns, despite him rehearsing, performing a soundcheck Monday in Chicago

James Taylor was bumped at the DNC last night, and while reports emerged that speeches ran long and there was just no room for the aging folkster, it almost seemed intentional, a message that the old guard, their leaders in both politics and culture, were out for good.

“Veteran singer-songwriter James Taylor, who was slated to perform, got bumped for time as the night ran long. We’ll never know for certain whether he would have matched Kid Rock’s energy,” NPR writes, referencing the energy of the RNC and the performers that graced that stage.

Taylor’s only performance on the Chicago stage on Monday was during a sound check, where he played his iconic “You’ve Got a Friend.” It was scheduled to be sung between speeches given by Biden’s daughter Ashley and wife Jill in the lead up to Biden’s exit speech. It would have been a soft reminder that Biden, the elder statesman, was leaving the party he’d been part of for his enture career, stretching back to the 1970s and Taylor’s own heyday, and led for the past four years.

DNC’s unrevised platform allows Kamala Harris to ‘stay vague,’ hide policy from American people: CNN

On CNN, hosts discussed how with the Democratic platform still having many mentions of President Joe Biden along with policy positions, Kamala Harris can “stay vague” about the specifics of her policy agenda going into the Democratic National Convention (DNC).

The comments came from Jake Tapper, who said that having Biden mentioned would leave policies for Harris “vague” and “unspecific,” and allowed the campaign to place blame on Biden.

Tapper during CNN’s coverage of the first day of the DNC said, “President Biden dropped out of the race a month and a day ago. You wouldn’t know that if you read the Democratic platform because it repeatedly refers to President Biden’s second term.” The platform refers to Biden’s second term around 19 times.

CNN’s David Chalian responded, telling others on the panel, “The idea of reopening the platform to try to fit in not yet fully developed Kamala Harris policies, while they were quickly changing, they thought they would be opening a can of worms, right? And that there would be all of a sudden some fights about what goes in the platform and they wanted to avoid that at all costs.” He added that the Democrats were willing to take the hit on the platform not being updated.

For many Americans, the story of JD Vance’s ascent from relative poverty to the rank of corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps and to the position of U.S. senator is inspiring. His memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” informed by his struggles along the way, did after all become a bestseller as well as the basis for the Ron Howard film adaptation of the same name.

It appears that some affluent Democrats regard personal achievement of this nature and by this particular stripe of American as deplorable.

Rep. Joyce Beatty (R-Ohio) seized upon the opportunity Monday in her Democratic National Convention speech to criticize Vance — not for his legislative priorities or for his track record in Washington, D.C., but for actively pursuing greatness.

After doing her best at the outset to associate Vance with Democrats’ go-to bogeyman, Project 2025, Beatty said, “JD Vance likes to talk about how he’s from Ohio, but as soon as he could, he ran away to Yale and Silicon Valley, cozying up with billionaires while trashing our communities.”

On Monday, a state senator from Michigan, one Mallory McMorrow, was dragged up on stage at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago to beat the left’s favorite dead horse: Project 2025.

Her remarks, like Mallory McMorrow herself, were decidedly not worth mentioning except for one thing: During her speech, she warned that the Project 2025 agenda might — gasp! — allow Donald Trump to use the federal government to go after his enemies.

The GOP’s agenda, she said, would allow Donald Trump “to weaponize the Department of Justice to go after his political opponents.”

“He could even even turn the FBI into his own personal police force,” McMorrow said. “That is not how it works in America!“

The Federal Bureau of Prisons has been registering federal prisoners to vote in Alabama, according to Secretary of State Wes Allen, an effort he claims is “illegal.”

“At least one liberal third-party organization has been deployed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons to conduct voter registration in federal prisons in Alabama,” Allen said in a statement to The Federalist. “Obviously, this raised questions for my staff and I.”

Allen said President Joe Biden’s “Executive Order on Promoting Access to Voting,” issued in March 2021, attempts to “mobilize and weaponize the entire federal government” to “register primarily Democrat leaning groups of voters.”

The federal program has taken the nickname “Bidenbucks.” Like the 2020 election “Zuckbucks” from Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, which enabled third-party election meddling and get-out-the-vote efforts for likely Democrat voters, it directs federal agencies to work with third-party groups to “promote voter registration and voter participation” in similar ways.

Allen asked the White House “earlier this year” how the federal government has implemented this in Alabama. He said the administration “confirmed” the Bureau of Prisons had “deployed” a “liberal third-party organization” to help register federal prisoners to vote. Those with criminal records are far more likely to vote Democrat than Republican, making this a partisan effort.

Former President Donald Trump pledged to unleash American energy production with new oil and gas operations approved in Alaska’s Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR).

In a Monday night interview on X with platform CEO Elon Musk, Trump promised to get oil and gas production on Alaska’s north slope up and running “quickly” four years after President Joe Biden suspended plans for drilling.

“I’ll get it going very quickly because not only is it big for Alaska,” Trump said, but also “for the United States.” It’s “pure, really good stuff.”

The Republican president had previously opened the 1.6-million-acre stretch on Alaska’s north coast for oil and gas development through the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The administration issued the first leases to drill in ANWR’s coastal plain on Trump’s final full day in office before Biden halted projects and ultimately terminated the leases last summer.
