02c U.S. Politics – Election

If you read nothing but posts from conservative influencers on X, you’d be convinced that Donald Trump has already won the 2024 election.

The source of this sensationalized optimism comes from public polling data, which shows the former president with leads in key battleground states he needs to win this November. Some surveys also seemingly indicate that traditionally “blue states” like Virginia and Minnesota are in play.

With numbers like these and Biden’s approval rating sinking faster than Rachel Levine in a swimming pool, there’s no way Trump can lose, or so the conventional thinking goes.

While it’s certainly possible the polls are accurate, the outcome of recent elections should give conservatives reason to pump the brakes on celebrating before any ballots have been cast. Case in point: A special election held in Ohio’s 6th Congressional District on Tuesday.

The matchup between Democrat Michael Kripchak and Republican Michael Rulli wasn’t expected to be a close race. According to the Associated Press, former GOP Rep. Bill Johnson — who represented the district until his resignation earlier this year — “won his last four elections by more than 30 percentage points.” Trump similarly won the district by roughly 30 points during the 2020 contest.

While Rulli defeated Kripchak in Tuesday’s matchup and expanded Republicans’ thin House majority, the election was much closer than originally predicted. Preliminary results indicate Rulli won the race by 9.4 points — a more than 20-point shift in Democrats favor.

Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is set to hold a Get Out the Vote rally on June 22 in the Bronx, just three days before the New York Primary Election on June 25. The event will feature Vermont senator Bernie Sanders and New York Representative Jamaal Bowman, among others.

In a post on X, Ocasio-Cortez emphasized the importance of voter turnout in the upcoming primary. “We have a world to win. To do so, we must defeat cynicism, apathy, and big money to turn out every voter we can in the New York primary THIS MONTH,” she wrote.

Drew Johnson has won the Republican primary in the battleground 3rd Congressional District and will face incumbent Democrat Susie Lee in what is expected to be a tough general election fight.

The Associated Press called the race for Johnson early Wednesday morning. The outcome is an upset victory for the candidate, who faced stiff competition in a crowded field of Republican rivals, including former Nevada state Treasurer Dan Schwartz and former Nevada state Sen. Elizabeth Helgelien.

“I’m honored to earn the trust and support of Republican primary voters in Nevada’s crucial 3rd Congressional District. The pundits didn’t give us a chance, but we outworked our opponents and overperformed expectations,” Johnson said in a statement.

Most Americans do not approve of Joe Biden’s student loan bailouts, according to new polling.

It’s hardly a surprise. Biden’s plan favors the wealthy and is nothing more than a vote-buying scam meant to appeal to young voters, who he needs and who are abandoning him at a rapid pace.

It’s also important to remember that the U.S. Supreme Court told Biden that he could not do this and he did it anyway and then bragged about defying the nation’s highest court. People see this.

The Washington Examiner reports:

Biden’s loan forgiveness faces low approval

Only 3 in 10 adults approve of President Joe Biden‘s student loan debt forgiveness, according to a recently released poll from the University of Chicago and the Associated Press.

Four of 10 say they disapprove. Combine that with the rest of those respondents saying they are either neutral or don’t know enough to say, and it is clear this move by Biden has failed.

And I mean “failed” in two different contexts.

The national average of polls reveals the Mass Mailer President Joe Biden Committee’s avatar, Joe Biden, has seen his approval rating hit an all-time low of 37.4 percent. FiveThirtyEight has been compiling the average approval rating of polls since Biden took office.

Nate Silver, FiveThirtyEight’s founder, said of the results, “But Biden just hit a new all-time low in approval (37.4%) at 538 yesterday. Dropping out would be a big risk. But there’s some threshold below which continuing to run is a bigger risk. Are we there yet? I don’t know. But it’s more than fair to ask.”

Prominent FiveThirtyEight pollster Nate Silver posed a foreboding question for Democrats on Monday.

The question came on the heels of a devastating revelation for President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign.

The president just reached a new all-time low in approval. According to FiveThirtyEight’s average of national polls, Biden’s approval rating stands at a mere 37.6 percent.

This prompted Silver’s foreboding question.

“… Biden just hit a new all-time low in approval (37.4%) at 538 yesterday. Dropping out would be a big risk. But there’s some threshold below which continuing to run is a bigger risk. Are we there yet?” Silver wrote.

“I don’t know. But it’s more than fair to ask.”

Silver also pointed out that if projections hold, former President Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican nominee, will top the incumbent Democrat by seven points.

Will Biden be the Democratic nominee in November?

Trump’s current approval rating stands at 41.6 percent according to FiveThirtyEight.

According to a May 30 report from NPR, one of the biggest advantages Biden had in the 2020 election — young voters — appears to be slipping away.

According to 2020 exit polls cited by the outlet, Biden won voters age 18-29 by over 20 points and voters under 45 by 14 points.

Both once-wide leads have been nearly decimated as of May.

Biden’s 14-point lead with voters under 45 years old has been cut to just four points.

With Gen-Z and Millennials, Biden only leads by six points.

But that’s all before you introduce the independent and third-party candidates.

With independent candidates Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and Cornel West and Green Party candidate Jill Stein in the mix, Trump actually leads the Gen-Z/Millennial vote by six points and those under 45 by eight points.

Since this polling took place, the Libertarian party nominated its own candidate, Chase Oliver.

Oliver, a pro-LGBT candidate who went viral for previously defending drag queen story hour shortly after his nomination, plans to target “young voters angry about the Israel-Hamas war on college campuses, Twitch and TikTok,” according to Politico.

Should these strategies result in more young votes being pulled away from Democrats than Republicans, Trump’s lead among young voters could grow even wider come election day.

A Note from Our Deputy Managing Editor:

I heard a chilling comment the other day: “We don’t even know if an election will be held in 2024.”

That wasn’t said by a conspiracy theorist or a doomsday prophet. No, former U.S. national security advisor Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn said that to the founder of The Western Journal, Floyd Brown.

Gen. Flynn’s warning means that the 2024 election is the most important election for every single living American. If we lose this one to the wealthy elites who hate us, hate God, and hate what America stands for, we can only assume that 248 years of American history and the values we hold dear to our hearts may soon vanish.

The end game is here, and as Benjamin Franklin said, “We must all hang together, or assuredly we shall all hang separately.”

All of this means that without you, it’s over. We have the platform, the journalists, and the experience to fight back hard, but Big Tech is strangling us through advertising blacklists, shadow bans, and algorithms. Did you know that we’ve been blacklisted by 90% of advertisers? Without direct support from you, our readers, we can’t continue the fight.

Can we count on your support? It may not seem like much, but a Western Journal Membership can make all the difference in the world because when you support us directly, you cut Big Tech out of the picture. They lose control.

A monthly Western Journal Membership costs less than one coffee and breakfast sandwich each month, and it gets you access to ALL of our content — news, commentary, and premium articles. You’ll experience a radically reduced number of ads, and most importantly you will be vitally supporting the fight for America’s soul in 2024.

We are literally counting on you because without our members, The Western Journal would cease to exist. Will you join us in the fight?

Sincerely,

Josh Manning

A YouGov Presidential Election poll reveals 84 percent of Americans believe 4 more years of a Biden presidency will make their families worse off than if he weren’t re-elected. It could indicate for some, Democrats specifically, they might very want things to get worse for all of us in their effort to overthrow the republic and replace it with a one-party state.

Raheem Kassam joined Steve Bannon on Monday morning to discuss the latest YouGov presidential election poll.

Raheem scoured the latest poll and found this shocking nugget in the cross tabs: 84% of Americans believe they will be worse off under a second Joe Biden term.

That means EVEN DEMOCRATS know life will suck under a second Biden term!

Steve Bannon: Democrats are in trouble. You’re never going to see Tester or Sherrod Brown or these guys on a stage with Joe Biden because he is the cooler, brother. Your thoughts?

Raheem Kassam: Yeah, so it absolutely is showing up in the US numbers as well now. These numbers, by the way, are getting buried by the corporate media when they report these things out. At the National Pulse, we have an analysis up this morning about some of the most critical numbers in the YouGOve and CBS poll, a 2,000-person poll, with a 3.2% margin of error. In that, 84% of Americans, likely voters, have said that they expect to be worse off under a second Biden term. That is to say that they expect it financially, things to either get worse or stay on the same downward trajectory as they are currently. 84% of Americans! These are unprecedented, depressive numbers that are going towards the… And they are totally, totally an indictment of Joe Biden and his economic campaign.

Donald J Trump raised over $400 million for his re-election campaign after he was convicted of 34 felony counts in what appears to be a kangaroo court proceeding designed to produce a conviction, by any means necessary. Following that success, Trump has added $12 million in a weekend haul following a fundraiser in the heart of leftist power, Silicon Valley.

Last week after the sham guilty verdict came down in New York City, Trump announced that he had raised a staggering $400 million.

This week, during a one night event in Silicon Valley, hosted by entrepreneur David Sacks, Trump raised another $12 million – in just one night.

The fact that people in blue Silicon Valley are stepping up to support Trump, post-NYC verdict, shows that the political narrative has shifted. No one could have imagined Trump getting this kind of support in such a blue area four years ago.

Breitbart News reported:

Trump Raises $12M at Silicon Valley Fundraiser Hosted by Venture Capitalist David Sacks

Former President Donald Trump raised $12 million at a Silicon Valley fundraiser in deep blue state California on Thursday, according to a member of the California Republican National Committee.

Harmeet Dhillon posted on X: “$12M raised tonight! Incredible support for @realDonaldTrump. Not an empty seat in the gorgeous home of @DavidSacks and Jacqueline. Thrilled to see the tech leaders stepping up!”

It was the first fundraiser since Trump’s conviction last week, illustrating the former president’s ability to raise funds and garner support despite Democrats’ best efforts to label him a “convicted felon” and hurt his candidacy…

President Donald Trump attended a digital pre-sentencing hearing on Monday.

The hearing was part of Trump’s bogus “hush money” case.

A probation officer collected information for the judge to consult when he decides Trump’s punishment on July 11.

Trump is facing up to four years in prison after being found guilty of “falsifying business records” in May.

It’s widely expected that the Democrat judge, Juan Merchan, will throw the book at Trump for the politically motivated conviction.

The Monday interview lasted about half an hour.

The legally required, seemingly routine hearing adds another layer of persecution for Trump.

Democrats have sought to smear the 45th president as an ordinary “convicted felon” rather than a political prisoner, as many view him.

Last year, a radical abortion ballot initiative passed in the solid red state of Ohio, shocking pro-lifers across the country. The results weren’t even close: 56.78% of Ohio voters backed a ballot initiative to write “reproductive rights” into the state constitution, while only 43.22% opposed it.

How did it happen? The Left’s dark money network provides a key part of the explanation, and the Buckeye State just approved a law to prevent the kind of foreign funding that helped boost abortion across the finish line last year.

While the Left has long demonized “dark money,” the term merely refers to funds that influence American politics and policy without disclosing donors. Most nonprofits are forms of dark money influence, but a network of pass-through nonprofits on the Left further cloaks dark money, and the Left’s dark money network spent more than comparable groups on the Right in 2020.

According to the Ohio Secretary of State’s records, pro-abortion forces spent $53.8 million to back the initiative, while pro-life advocates spent $36.1 million to oppose it. A large chunk of the pro-abortion funding ($8.2 million) came from one left-wing dark money group, the Sixteen Thirty Fund.

Millions of Americans are struggling to afford necessities like food, rent, insurance, and a car payment. But if you’re one of them, don’t expect any understanding from the White House and its sycophants in the media. They say your financial pain is all in your head.

As an MSNBC host put it, Americans need “an economic explainer,” since “people are confused” about their financial situation. They’re actually “doing quite well,” she laughably asserted.

That will surprise the half of Americans who are struggling to make their rent or mortgage payments on time, especially the one-fifth of renters who are skipping meals to stay current, or the 65% of Americans who say their finances have deteriorated over the last year because of inflation.

Similarly, when President Joe Biden was told by an interviewer that food prices are up 30% in four years, he blithely dismissed it. American families, he claimed, “have more money to spend.”

WASHINGTON, June 4 (Xinhua) — “It’s my honor,” said former U.S. President Donald Trump on Saturday in the first video post of his account on TikTok, a social media platform he tried to ban as president on national security grounds, amassing 4.6 million followers.

The post, which showed Trump, the Republican Party’s presumptive presidential nominee, waving to the audience at an Ultimate Fighting Championship game in the U.S. state of New Jersey, has garnered around 73 million views and received over 4.7 million likes.

Trump has not been a fan of TikTok. When he was the president, he issued an executive order in 2020 banning U.S. transactions with TikTok and its Chinese parent company ByteDance, citing national security concerns. The order was blocked by a federal judge.

A coalition of progressive groups has called on Democrats to reject political donations from the American Israel Public Affairs Committee because it has aggressively targeted progressives who have been critical of Israel.

“We have watched as AIPAC has done everything it can to silence growing dissent in Congress against [Israeli leader Benjamin] Netanyahu’s assault on Gaza ― which has killed over 31,000 Palestinians ― even as Democratic voters overwhelmingly support a ceasefire and oppose sending more blank checks to the Israeli military,” the Reject AIPAC coalition said in a statement.

The statement referred to reports that AIPAC is preparing to spend tens of millions of dollars on the 2024 elections and that the group’s top contributors include Republican Party megadonors.

The coalition is made up of about 25 organizations, including Justice Democrats, the Working Families Party, the Democratic Socialists of America, US Campaign for Palestinian Rights Action, Jewish Voice for Peace Action, Our Revolution and the Sunrise Movement.

Trump lawyer Alina Habba said Wednesday on Fox News Channel’s “The Story” that guest host Shannon Bream was incorrect on the source behind the business record trial against former President Trump.

Habba said, “Joe Biden, unfortunately, can’t really do anything in office So, he’s got to use the same means as somebody who’s just trying to have a quick slip-and-fall and make money. Bream said, “But the Biden administration’s not responsible for this trial.”

John Legend suggests Black voters leaving Biden over ‘misinformation’

Left-leaning singer John Legend in an appearance on podcast “Pod Save America” this week shared his stance on the upcoming presidential election, claiming President Joe Biden is losing Black voter support due to “misinformation.”

The Biden campaign still holds an edge over former President Donald Trump with Black voters, but that margin has narrowed in recent months. On the “no-bulls—” podcast, which is run by several former aides to former President Barack Obama, Legend addressed the topic of Black voters supporting Trump.

Joe Biden held a campaign rally in one of the largest cities in the nation Wednesday, and failed to fill the college gym. Biden and Kamala Harris appeared at Girard College, a predominantly Black boarding school in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The venue appeared to be less than half full, with a large portion of the crowd made up of the press, according to a photo posted by the RNC on X.

Harry Sisson,  a paid Democrat operative who actively promotes Biden on social media, suggested that the above image portrayed the rally before it started, and posted a cropped photo that made the room appear fuller.

Levine, the Manhattan Borough president, said that voters are increasingly being drawn to President Donald Trump and the Republicans, even in traditionally deep blue strongholds like New York City.

Joe Biden dispatched his political team to the microphones outside the courthouse where he sicced a DOJ transplant to prosecute his opponent, Donald Trump. Up to this point, the Biden regime gamely denied that this wasn’t a political show trial, claiming that it was a legitimate prosecution based on legal payments that they of course had nothing to do with.

But then he sent his political team to drum up votes outside the courthouse. Biden’s attempt to troll Trump while he was in court fighting for his freedom against bizarre bookkeeping charges confirmed what we’d known all along.

At the time that actor Robert De Niro and other Biden political surrogates were being besieged by hecklers and car alarms, Donald Trump was in the courtroom watching his attorneys explain to the five-woman, seven-man jury that bookkeeping entries didn’t rise to the level of 34 felonies and years in the slammer. The jury will get the case after the judge gives them the jury instructions, which as I write about nearby, are more about jurors being able to choose their convictions à la carte from a “Get Trump” menu.

Trump tells donors that the student demonstrators are part of a ‘radical revolution’ and promises to defeat them.

Former United States President Donald Trump has promised that he will crack down on pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses if he wins the 2024 US presidential election.

Earlier this month, the likely Republican nominee told a small group of predominantly Jewish donors that he would expel student demonstrators, who he claimed were part of a “radical revolution”, from the US if he is elected, according to a report by The Washington Post released on Monday.

“If you get me elected, and you should really be doing this … we’re going to set that movement back 25 or 30 years,” Trump said, according to the report, quoting people at the meeting who spoke on the condition of anonymity.

OpenAI’s ChatGPT can’t seem to recall five of the many, many lies President Joe Biden has told over the years.

MRC researchers asked the artificial intelligence chatbot ChatGPT on May 16 what the “top five biggest lies” that Biden and former President Donald Trump have each told. The chatbot claimed that for Biden it “can’t list specific lies without context or verification.” Yet, it had no problem listing off five debated comments that Trump has made. Nearly two weeks later, the chatbot happened to remember a few.

MRC Free Speech America Vice President Dan Schneider pointed out that when AI comes up with totally botched answers like these, users must look to the programmers. “People should never forget that artificial intelligence is a combination of human-generated algorithms,” he said. “This sort of data manipulation is intended by the Big Tech oligarchs who want to use their vast power and resources to influence elections.”

President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign is going all-in on presenting former President Donald Trump as a threat to democracy as polling continues to show Biden sinking in swing states.

Biden’s campaign has enlisted the assistance of three police officers who worked at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021, to further its latest strategy, CNN reports.

Sgt. Aquilino Gonell, Officer Harry Dunn, and Officer Danny Hodges will accuse Trump of posing a threat to democracy in key swing states, beginning in Nevada and Arizona.

Dunn is fresh off a primary defeat in a campaign for a congressional seat from Maryland. His campaign failed after troubling allegations of domestic abuse resurfaced, as well as reports that he was suspended without pay from the U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) in 2012 after improperly handling his department-issued firearm.

Every politician with any ambition — which is almost all of them — looks in the mirror and sees someone who belongs in a higher office. J.B. Pritzker is no exception. Whether Joe Biden wins or loses this November, the Democratic Party will need a new candidate next time around. And our governor is already positioning himself for a run.

For one, Pritzker has leaned into the Democrats’ strongest issue of the Biden era, abortion rights, which will almost certainly still be salient come 2028. He has declared Illinois “the most progressive state” on reproductive rights and made it an abortion haven by signing legislation that allows out-of-state medical professionals to perform the procedure here and shields patients from attempts by other states to prevent them from traveling to Illinois for abortions.
