02c U.S. Politics – Election

The anti-American Communist running for Wisconsin Senate, Francesca Hong, lost her primary election to progressive David Crowley. Going into the polls, Hong was alleged to have a significant double-digit lead over Crowley. She was given a near-certain chance at winning.

Crowley narrowly beat her, and that only after a suspicious breakdown in the election process occurred. Five of the Eight USB Drives that had election information were handed in without any data. The data was then later allegedly retrieved.

Crowley Stuns In WI, Beating Socialist In Dem Governor Primary– thefederalist.com

Wisconsin Democrats on Tuesday disregarded the polls and narrowly rejected an avowed socialist as their nominee for governor in the Badger State’s nationally-watched primary election.

Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley, who dropped out of the race late only to be coaxed back in by the so-called Democratic Party “establishment,” defeated democratic socialist Francesca Hong by razor thin margins.

Per usual, Crowley’s Milwaukee County faced a ballot count delay, a stoppage that dragged out the tally for hours and was once again blamed on “human error.” It’s another in a string of election night messes for Milwaukee, Wisconsin’s most-populated — and election integrity challenged city.

With 98.4 percent of the vote in just before 2 a.m., Crowley led by just four-tenths of a percentage point, or just over 3,000 votes. The New York Times finally called the race for Crowley just before 3 a.m. local time.

Shocker: Abdul El-Sayed’s Horrific ‘Dog Slaughterhouse’ – RedState– redstate.com

It’s safe to say that most Americans love dogs. The relationship between those lovable mutts and their people is like nothing else; there is no other domesticated animal that associates with us not by our choice, but theirs, the way dogs do. They are faithful companions, loyal helpers and guardians, and they love us without reservation. Whenever anyone proclaims “you can’t buy love,” it’s a safe bet they’ve never had a puppy.

In some cultures, though, our traditional love for Canis lupus familiaris isn’t shared. Which brings us to the current Democrat candidate for a Michigan Senate seat, Abdul El-Sayed, and his tenure as Detroit’s health director. During this stint, El-Sayed was responsible for, among other things, Detroit’s animal control department, and his handling of that department prompted an employee to describe it as a “dog slaughterhouse.”

El-Sayed’s campaign, of course, is touting a significant improvement in the shelter’s live-release rate.

Detroit Animal Care and Control’s (DACC) live-release rate was roughly 20% to 26% when El-Sayed inherited the operation in late 2015 but climbed to about 61% to 62% by late 2016 — an improvement his campaign points to in arguing that the raw number of animals euthanized during his tenure obscures a turnaround from the dire conditions and euthanasia rates he inherited. The Daily Mail reported that records covering the period surrounding El-Sayed’s tenure showed 4,680 dogs and cats were euthanized, with 1,056 dogs and 29 cats getting euthanized in the first full calendar year DACC was under El-Sayed’s Health Department.

On Wednesday, the conservative Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a ruling blocking key measures of Texas’ sweeping voter suppression law, SB 1.

A lower court previously ruled that the law, which effectively made it harder for people to vote with assistance, violated disability civil rights laws. It also created more barriers to voting by mail.

“It has long been established that mail-in ballots are prone to fraud,” Judge Andrew Oldham wrote, according to Democracy Docket. “That is why voting by mail jeopardizes election integrity and democracy itself.”

There is no evidence that mail-in ballots are “prone to fraud.” An analysis from the Brookings Institution found an “average total mail voting fraud percentage across the 2016, 2018, 2020, and 2022 general elections of only 0.000043 [percent].” Or, about 4 votes per 10 million votes. Mail-in voting can be very important for disabled and aging people, who otherwise may have to deal with accessibility challenges with getting to the polls and access issues when voting itself.

Troy Jackson, the Democrat nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine, has a history of violent, rage-fueled aggression toward women, according to recent media reports highlighting his past blow-ups and temper tantrums.

Jackson secured the nomination at a special convention on July 25, 2026, after former Democrat nominee Graham Platner was forced to withdraw from the race due to multiple personal scandals.

According to recent reports, his replacement allegedly got physically violent with his longtime “partner” and second cousin Lana Pelletier during a fiery altercation decades ago. More recently, Jackson reportedly led the State Senate with an explosive and volatile temper, routinely yelling and cursing at female lawmakers.

Banger News Daily on Tuesday detailed a violent incident involving Jackson, Pelletier and another man in 1988, when Jackson was 19-years-old.

According to the police report, Pelletier told officers that Jackson “pushed her around” after he broke down a door and punched an apparent romantic rival at a Fort Kent home.

Texas Democrat James Talarico: Securing the Border Is an ‘Atrocity’– slaynews.com

Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Texas state Rep. James Talarico (D-Austin) is facing renewed scrutiny after past comments resurfaced in which he accused Republican Gov. Greg Abbott of committing “atrocities” and “hunting people” over border enforcement efforts.

The remarks, made during a 2023 podcast appearance, have resurfaced as Talarico attempts to position himself as a “border security” Democrat while seeking statewide office in Texas.

Critics argue the comments highlight a sharp contrast between Talarico’s current campaign messaging and his previous rhetoric on illegal immigration.

Talarico Compared Abbott’s Border Policies to ‘Atrocities’

Appearing on the Texas in Focus podcast in July 2023, Talarico condemned Abbott’s border security initiatives, including the use of floating barriers and razor wire designed to deter illegal crossings.

“I think Greg Abbott’s border stunts have now become atrocities,” Talarico said.

Republican Ken Paxton holds a one-point lead over Democrat James Talarico in the 2026 U.S. Senate race in Texas, according to a new Emerson College Polling/Nexstar Media survey of likely voters released Thursday.

The poll found 47% of respondents support pro-life Paxton while 46% support pro-abortion Talarico. Five percent remain undecided and 2% support someone else.

The survey of 1,000 likely voters was conducted August 9-10 and has a credibility interval of plus or minus 3 percentage points.

“The race for U.S. Senate in Texas is sharply divided by age: voters under 50 favor Talarico by 15 points, 53% to 38%, while those over 50 break for Paxton by 11 points, 53% to 42%,” said Spencer Kimball, executive director of Emerson College Polling.

“ERO Cross Check 2017” by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Public Domain Mark

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has formally backed a resolution calling for the abolition of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Newsweek reports that DNC members approved the measure Saturday during the party’s summer meeting in Austin, Texas, calling on congressional Democrats to pass legislation eliminating ICE and winding down the federal immigration detention system.

The resolution also calls for withholding Department of Homeland Security funding unless the administration ends a series of enforcement practices, including workplace raids, large-scale roundups and arrests at courthouses and ICE check-ins.

It additionally demands the closure of immigration detention facilities, the termination of private detention contracts and the release of most immigration detainees while their cases proceed.

The vote makes abolishing ICE a position formally endorsed by the DNC, although it does not amend the Democratic Party’s official national platform.

Democrat Rep. Ro Khanna, who is openly floating a run for the presidency in 2028, is now advocating for a “multi-racial New Deal” because of the allegedly racist nature of the United States.

“A multi-racial New Deal, in my view, is what is needed,” Khanna told NPR. “It will probably be one of America’s greatest moments because of what we can do, or will do, in America. I don’t know if it’ll be my generation or the next generation. We will become the world’s first cohesive multi-racial democracy.”

Khanna’s proposal has followed the work of his fellow California Democrats, who approved a “reparations fund” for black residents in San Francisco earlier this year. A proposal for the fund had suggested that the city dole out one-time payments to the tune of $5 million for each eligible party.

Democratic Socialists of America’s Plan to Infiltrate Unions– www.dailysignal.com

The Democratic Socialists of America is quietly building a network of activists to influence unions that are central to the Democratic Party.

The organization’s plan encourages young socialists to select jobs where they can either unionize or join existing unions and move them further to the Left. While most Americans are aware of DSA-backed officeholders Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Zohran Mamdani, the strategy of placing members in unions may actually yield more important dividends to the organization’s long-term goals.

From 2018 to 2021, the Young Democratic Socialists of America adopted a “rank-and-file” strategy as a national priority, emphasizing that “socialists must enter the labor movement on the shop floor as rank and file members of labor unions.”

The goal, as the group explained it, was “to reconnect the labor movement to the socialist movement in order to strengthen the militancy and class consciousness of the multiracial, multigendered working class to fight capitalism.”

“We aim to turn the unions we join into strong, militant, democratic organizations that can win major gains for workers, by workers,” the rank-and-file project’s website stated.

Why infiltrate the unions? To leverage them for the Left’s omni cause, the group explicitly stated.

Rep. Tom Tiffany (R-WI) won the Republican nomination to be Wisconsin‘s next governor on Tuesday, besting long-shot candidate Andy Manske in the GOP primary to advance to the general election.

Tiffany secured the primary win with 96.4% of the vote, while Manske trailed with 3.5% of the vote, according to the Associated Press as of Tuesday evening. Tiffany, endorsed by President Donald Trump, awaits the Democratic primary winner as he looks to take back the governor’s mansion from Democrats for the first time since 2019.

Tiffany has held his northwest Wisconsin seat in the U.S. House since 2020, announcing his exit from the chamber to run for the statewide office in September 2025 to replace retiring Gov. Tony Evers (D-WI). Several GOP candidates had dropped their bids for the seat either after Tiffany entered the race or after Trump endorsed him, leaving Tiffany to take on Manske, a 27-year-old medical service technician.

The congressman has run his gubernatorial campaign touting his years of experience in public office from the local level to Capitol Hill, arguing he has “fought for Wisconsin at every level of government.” Tiffany has campaigned largely on issues like affordability, public safety, and education, vowing to freeze property taxes, ban sanctuary cities across the state, and invest in K-12 education.

Interim U.S. Senator Darline Graham and U.S. Rep. Ralph Norman have advanced to a runoff in South Carolina’s special Republican primary for the U.S. Senate seat previously held by the late Senator Lindsey Graham.

Ahead of Tuesday’s primary, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster appointed Darline Graham, Lindsey Graham’s sister, to serve the remainder of the term, which ends in January 2027. Under state law, a special primary was required to select the Republican nominee for the full six-year term beginning in 2027.

Ten candidates appeared on the Republican primary ballot. Unofficial results with nearly all votes counted showed Darline Graham receiving 109,582 votes, or 32.7 percent, while Norman secured second place with 24.6 percent of the vote.

Significant vote shares also went to additional candidates, as U.S. Rep. Russell Fry finished third with roughly 19.6 percent of the vote. Former Governor Mark Sanford trailed close behind with 14.9 percent, while businessman Mark Lynch, who previously mounted a primary challenge against the late Senator Graham, received a little under six percent. A handful of additional candidates received smaller shares of the vote.

Wisconsin’s Dem establishment is scrambling to stop a democratic socialist Tuesday– www.politico.com

KENOSHA, Wisconsin — The progressive movement’s midterms march has arrived in Wisconsin, where a democratic socialist is forcing establishment Democrats to mount an all-out, last-ditch effort to stop her.

State Rep. Francesca Hong is the front-runner to become the Democratic gubernatorial nominee, fueled by a populist campaign tapping into voters’ cost of living concerns. David Crowley, the Milwaukee County Executive backed by outgoing Gov. Tony Evers, has emerged as the top candidate trying to cut off Hong’s bid.

Ahead of Tuesday’s primary, electability was top of mind for voters and both candidates as they raced to prove they could build the widest, strongest coalition against presumptive Republican nominee Tom Tiffany.

Crowley and Evers have been barnstorming the swing state over the past week, warning a vote for Hong risks losing the governor’s mansion in November to Tiffany, a hard-right member of the House Freedom Caucus backed by President Donald Trump.
