FCC Chairman Says Agency May Issue Guidance on ‘Fake Polls’ Ahead of Midterms › American Greatness– amgreatness.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

Federal Communications Commission Chairman Brendan Carr said the agency may soon issue guidance to television broadcasters over what he called “fake polls,” particularly if they are intended to suppress voter participation ahead of November’s midterm elections.

Carr said Sunday that broadcasters face federal public-interest obligations because local television stations use FCC-licensed public airwaves, unlike cable networks and online platforms.

“There’s a lot of interest right now in fake polls that are out there,” Carr said. “And so the FCC may put guidance out soon to remind broadcasters about their obligations with respect to not airing fake polls, particularly if they’re done to suppress people heading into the fall.”

Carr’s comments follow criticism from President Donald Trump over media coverage of political polling and his endorsement record in Republican primaries.

Trump recently called for the FCC to take action against NBC News’ Kristen Welker after she said on a local NBC affiliate that Trump had experienced “mixed results” with candidates he endorsed in this year’s primaries. Trump disputed that characterization and said Welker should be reported to the FCC for “rebuke or punishment.” NBC News defended Welker.

Judge Rejects Fired Stars and Stripes Journalists’ Bid to Force Pentagon to Reinstate Them– slaynews.com

EXCERPT:

A federal judge has handed the Pentagon a legal victory, rejecting an emergency attempt by three fired Stars and Stripes journalists to force their way back into their jobs while they pursue a First Amendment lawsuit against the Trump administration.

U.S. District Judge Trevor McFadden denied the request for a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction filed by Stars and Stripes publisher Max Lederer, editor-in-chief Erik Slavin, and reporter Lara Korte.

McFadden ruled that the journalists “ultimately fail to carry their significant burden to show that they are clearly entitled to a preliminary injunction.”

The three were fired last month after a dispute with Pentagon leadership over unauthorized media appearances and the newspaper’s editorial direction.

They subsequently sued the Pentagon, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, chief Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell, and Principal Deputy Assistant Andrew Brey, accusing the administration of retaliating against them for protected speech.

For now, however, the court has refused to undo the firings.

NY Post Highlights Poll on Democrats’ Views About 9/11 Remembrance– www.newsbusters.org

In Sunday’s front-page print edition (and posted online September 1), the New York Post shared wildly disturbing findings from a YouGov poll that “[m]ore than one in eight Democrats think the American people focus too much on remembering Sept. 11[.]”

“When asked if the American people currently focus too much or too little on the memory of the events of that tragic day, 13% of registered Democrats said too much, the survey found,” reporter Anthony Davis continued.

Sadly, he added, “[j]ust one in five (19%) Democrats said Americans focus too little on 9/11.”

The same poll found 72 percent of Democrats and 56 percent of independents “believe U.S. Muslims have faced worse treatment than other religious groups since 9/11.”

One could only imagine how Norm MacDonald would react to this. Thankfully, his viral December 2016 tweet holds up.

As the country marks the 25th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, it’s no accident a non-zero number of leftists would have tried to equivocate, explain away, or worse if a similar attack occurred today.

Democrats Officially Hit the Panic Button in New Hampshire Senate Race – RedState– redstate.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

A couple of weeks ago, RedState reported on how the New Hampshire Senate race was becoming one to keep an eye on due to how the contest was shaping up as the race prepares to enter the general election campaign season.

The primary is Tuesday, September 8th, and if the current polling bears out, we’ll see former Sen. John E. Sununu (R) take on four-term Democrat Rep. Chris Pappas (NH-01) to determine who gets to fill the seat being vacated by Democrat Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, who opted not to run for reelection. Shaheen defeated Sununu, who served one term, in 2008.

As we noted in our reporting, late August polling on a hypothetical matchup from the University of New Hampshire (UNH) and 7NEWS showed a tight race, “statistically tied,”  but with Sununu having a slight two-point edge, though within the margin of error.

Newsom: DSA Ideas Are Being Worked Into Dem Platform– www.breitbart.com

EXCERPT:

During a portion of an interview aired on Monday’s “PBS NewsHour,” California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said that the DSA’s ideas are being worked into the platform of Democrats and said that part of the DSA platform is “about recognizing that we’ve got a planet that is getting hotter and drier, and that we’ve got to address the issue of climate change, and we want energy security, and we want to move off fossil fuels. That’s a DSA position. That’s a mainstream position within the Democratic Party.”

Co-host Amna Nawaz asked, “So, let me ask you about how Democrats can win back control of Congress, because it’s been a pretty revealing primary season for the party, right? A reckoning, some have called it, too. You saw how many wins DSA candidates, Democratic Socialist candidates, were able to win, Donavan McKinney in Michigan, Chris Rabb in Pennsylvania, Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan, he doesn’t identify as DSA, but was sort of aligned with them. If you have these candidates and this platform that is clearly animating the base, energizing turnout, should more of those ideas be worked into the broader Democratic platform?”

Newsom answered, “I think they are. We want money out of politics. I’ve been supporting clean money campaigns for decades. We have a public finance –.”

Nawaz then cut in to say, “But there seems to be a little distance between some leadership and those DSA candidates.”

Serbia’s government proposes dissolving Parliament for early election– abcnews.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

BELGRADE, Serbia — The Serbian government on Monday proposed dissolving Parliament, setting in motion a procedure for scheduling an early parliamentary election that could see President Aleksandar Vucic switch to the post of prime minister.

The vote is seen as a test of Vucic’s tight rule in Serbia after over a year of mass street protests. It will be held in an atmosphere of heightened political tensions as ruling populists seek to hold on to power despite widespread popular discontent.

Vucic is expected to formally set the date later this week. He has said that the ballot likely will be held on Oct. 25.

Protests in Serbia started after a train station tragedy on Nov. 1, 2024, in northern Serbia’ killed 16 people. The protesters demanded accountability for the concrete canopy collapse in Novi Sad and an end to corruption they believed was the cause for bad renovation work.

More than a year of demonstrations sometimes drawing hundreds of thousands of people shook Vucic more than ever during his 14 years in power. The president and his right-wing Serbian Progressive Party have been accused of curbing democratic freedoms and of ties to organized crime, which he has denied. Serbia’s bid to join the European Union has stalled under Vucic, who has maintained close ties with both Russia and China.

Vucic has faced additional EU pressure in the past week over public homage to war criminal Ratko Mladic, the former Bosnian Serb army commander, who was buried as a hero in Serbia on Monday despite a U.N. court conviction.

Vucic has said he would resign the post so he can join the campaign for the parliamentary vote. He cannot run for the presidency again after serving two almost full terms. An early presidential election will be held separately.

Vucic has pushed hard against the protesters, sparking international concern over police violence and arbitrary detentions. He has accused the students and professors behind the protests of an intention to “destroy the state.”

The student-backed election list for Parliament is expected to include university professors and experts.

The populists have gradually taken over Serbia’s institutions and mainstream media after coming to power in 2012.

The Houthis militant group have reportedly fired ballistic missiles and drones on Saudi Arabian oil facilities and an air base.

A drone was shot down in the overnight attack over Khamis Mushait at such a low altitude that the interception shattered windows, according to reports.

Footage circulating on social media reportedly shows the intercept happening above the buildings of the southwestern Saudi city.

The city is home to King Khalid Air Base, when much of the Middle Eastern kingdom’s fighter fleet is located.

Khamis Mushait has been a Houthi target for years because of the base.

Federal Unions Act Like a Deep State Against Trump– www.dailysignal.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

Who ultimately decides how the executive branch works? Is it the president, elected by the American people, or career federal employees and the unions that represent them?

The American Federation of Government Employees, the largest union representing federal employees, sued the White House’s Office of Personnel Management last month, aiming to block new rules governing how federal employees are evaluated, disciplined, and removed.

The lawsuit represents only the latest in a long series of legal challenges the union has brought against President Donald Trump’s administration since January 2025. According to a July roundup AFGE posted on its website, the union had filed 18 lawsuits against the administration before the latest case.

These lawsuits have targeted a wide range of administration initiatives, including government-wide reorganizations, workforce reductions, collective bargaining restrictions, employee classification reforms, and changes to federal personnel rules.

AFGE has been far from alone in these cases. Democracy Forward, a left-leaning legal advocacy organization that has represented plaintiffs in numerous lawsuits challenging Trump policies, has represented AFGE or other plaintiffs in these cases. Such challenges have involved broad coalitions, including advocacy groups and local governments, alongside labor unions.

Critics argue that these cases amount to more than traditional labor litigation, representing a form of institutional resistance from federal employees and their allies against an elected administration’s effort to reshape the executive branch.

AFGE rejects that characterization. A union spokesman told The Daily Signal that issues involving “politicization of government, corruption, and the refusal to recognize legally valid union contracts” are inseparable from “the everyday experience of federal workers.” The spokesman also accused the administration of engaging in “illegal and retaliatory union-busting” and broader efforts to “rig the system.”

Iran-Backed Proxy Group Launches Ground Offensive Aimed At Further Disrupting Global Shipping– trendingpoliticsnews.com

EXCERPT:

Yemen’s Houthi militants — an Iran-backed group that has controlled large swaths of the country’s northwest for more than a decade — have launched a renewed offensive aimed at taking control of a vital Red Sea port.

Yemen has been divided by civil war since 2014, when Houthi forces from the country’s north seized the capital city of Sanaa. The Houthis, a Zaydi Shia movement that formed in the 1990s, now administer most of what was historically North Yemen. This includes Sanaa, the densely populated highlands, and the Red Sea port of Hodeidah.

This accounts for the majority of Yemen’s population.

The internationally recognized government, supported by Saudi Arabia and based mainly in the south, holds Aden, much of the east and south, and the oil-producing area around Marib. Taiz, one of Yemen’s largest cities, remains split. Front lines changed little after a 2022 nationwide truce until fighting intensified in 2026.

The Houthis’ current holdings give them a long coastline on the Red Sea and positions from which they can reach the Bab al-Mandab Strait, the narrow passage connecting the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden.

Earlier this month, the Houthis opened a ground offensive in western Taiz governorate. The operation targeted roads linking the city of Taiz to the government-held port of Mokha and sought to move closer to high ground overlooking approaches to Bab al-Mandab.

Clashes have been the heaviest in years, with more than 300 combatants and some civilians reported killed. Government forces later recaptured parts of Hays district in Hodeidah province and some heights west of Taiz, while Houthi units cut the Taiz–Mokha road at least temporarily.

Russia Orders Closures of German Consulate and Cultural Centers in Tit-for-Tat Move– www.themoscowtimes.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

Russia’s Foreign Ministry said Monday it was shuttering the German consulate in St. Petersburg and German cultural centers across the country.

The closures were announced in retaliation for Germany’s decision last week to close the Russian consulate in Bonn and a Russian cultural center in Berlin after its government blamed Moscow for an attempted drone attack at Leipzig/Halle Airport last month.

Moscow gave diplomats and employees at the German Consulate General in St. Petersburg until Sept. 18 to cease operations and leave Russia.

Staff at Germany’s Goethe-Institut cultural center branches in Moscow, St. Petersburg and Yekaterinburg were given until this Sunday.

The Russian Foreign Ministry said it summoned Germany’s ambassador in Moscow to inform him about the retaliatory decisions.

“It was the German authorities who once again provoked a new spiral of escalation in bilateral relations. Full responsibility for the consequences lies entirely with the German government,” the Russian ministry said in a statement.

President Vladimir Putin accused Germany of planting evidence in order to blame Moscow for the early August incident at Leipzig/Halle Airport.

On Sunday, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov claimed Berlin’s accusations against Moscow amounted to “an effective declaration of war against us.”

Lavrov said last week that Moscow would respond to the closure of its cultural center in Berlin by closing the Goethe-Institut cultural centers across Russia.

Russia’s first Goethe-Institut opened in Moscow in 1992, soon after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

FCC Warns of Crackdown on Corporate Media’s ‘Fake Polls’ Ahead of Midterms– slaynews.com
News Source
EXCERPT:

Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Brendan Carr says the agency could soon issue guidance warning broadcast networks about airing “fake polls” that could be used to suppress voters ahead of the midterm elections.

Carr said broadcasters operate under a fundamentally different set of obligations from cable networks and online platforms because they use federally licensed public airwaves.

“The one thing that President Donald Trump gets, fundamentally, is that broadcast TV is completely different than other forms of distribution, including cable,” Carr said Sunday.

“And so many broadcasters right now, they [want to] break the deal that they cut with the American people,” Carr continued.

“They get billions of dollars in taxpayer, effectively, subsidized distribution.

“And what they’re supposed to do in exchange is operate in the public interest, not some sort of narrow partisan interest.”

Carr Warns About ‘Fake Polls’ Ahead of Midterms

Carr said the FCC is examining several potential actions involving broadcasters, specifically pointing to concerns about polling presented to television audiences.

“I think President Trump is over the target, and we’re looking at a lot of actions,” Carr said.

“For instance, there’s a lot of interest right now in fake polls that are out there,” he continued.

INGERSOLL: Three Angry, Old Women Failed To Convince The Lone Juror– dailycaller.com

Below is State of the Day, a morning newsletter by Daily Caller Editor-at-Large Geoff Ingersoll. Sign up here.

__________

Greetings, Dear Reader,

I might have mentioned this in previous State of the Days, but my favorite bit of Ingersoll genealogy is that I’m related to the guy who hosted the first ever witch trials … in a bar.

Lieutenant Nathaniel Ingersoll was a prominent local business owner, militia member, and church leader. Of the 20 women he either accused or testified against, eight were hanged.

By the way, did you see …

THE THREE CRONES

There’s The Fates, The Grey Sisters, The Norns, and most popularly due to Shakespeare, The Weird Sisters, and then there’s the three batty crones who appeared on local television last night to complain incessantly about the one juror who refused to acquit Lindsay Clancy.

The three, who (ironically?) appeared on NBC and CBS Boston, made no attempt to mask their disgust of the prosecution and the lone male juror who refused to acquiesce to their appeals.

They accused the prosecution of lacking “compassion.” They said there was no “smoking gun” to prove Clancy’s guilt. They called the holdout juror “very arrogant” for not listening to the “nurses” in the room.

Yes, there were nurses in the room. Not that I want to digress, but some people are calling their reliance on external “expertise” cause for a mistrial. And to not digress further: About one third of nurses have some form of mental illness themselves!

Moving on … in the most disturbing clip of all, which simply must be watched, the three of them utterly lambast the holdout.

Here’s a transcript, emphasis mine (I’m withholding juror names, if you want to find them, it’s not difficult):

Juror 1:
He had reasonable doubt. He admitted he had reasonable doubt after we watched that video of the interview. I think that’s when it was. He admitted he had reasonable doubt, and I started filling out the forms. I was so excited. There were three forms I had to fill out, and I started filling them out. I wrote my signature on each one, and then he said, “But I’m still not going to say that she’s not guilty by reason of insanity.”

Juror 2:

He was very arrogant. He really did not take anything that anybody said. He tried to ask a question about the medications, and we went back to the report from South Shore Hospital. We had the toxicology report. We could see exactly the amounts. The nurses in the room spoke to that. That was a question that he had. And he just completely disregarded the information that they gave him.

Juror 3:

I’m not sure if “rogue” is the right word. But every one of us, in the hours of our frustration, would get up and walk the room, because you just couldn’t sit anymore, and would all go to the cart with the exhibits. He, I think, got up to the cart once, very briefly, and went back to his seat. He would not interact with us and try to understand.

We read to him on numerous occasions the definition of reasonable doubt from Judge Sullivan’s instruction. He actually said one day in the end, “Well, why don’t we have the judge come in and read it again?” And we were like, “No. We have it in front of us. We don’t need that.” And we would highlight it — this is the definition of reasonable doubt. But he had the hardest time getting off the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.

I genuinely had to do a double take when I read that last portion. He couldn’t get past “the fact that Lindsay viciously killed her children.”

Well no kidding, huh?

(Also, I’m not sure what exactly the third one is on, but her speech was slurred enough to call for a roadside test.)

We’ve also got the rapidly infamous “no smoking gun” assertion from a fourth juror who (wisely) chose to stay anonymous.

But she also recounted how she’d essentially been bullied into an acquittal despite her initial intuition.

Transcript:

Juror:

A majority of the people — it doesn’t matter what side it was on — was very firm in their stance and their beliefs kind of from the beginning. This standalone juror was not the only one that was unwilling to see things from the other side. So I’m going to kind of defend that individual in a sense. There were some big personalities in that room. But at the end of the day, it just came down to an inability to move past your convictions. And even after that dynamite charge, to be unable to self-analyze yourself and be like, ‘Okay, am I missing something? Am I failing to acknowledge or give this doubt the weight that it needs?’ That majority of the room was trying to sway that person from the very beginning.

Reporter:

So where did you come down from the very beginning? What was your vote?

Juror:

Originally I felt as though she was guilty and she was criminally responsible for it. And maybe I still believe that in a certain way. I think that this was a woman who was not mentally healthy. She was someone that was in the throes of a significant mental health crisis. I really just felt like she was so deep in it that she couldn’t see her way out. And this was the only option.

Truly wild.

… what an evolution of the term. From “ugly, withered or unpleasant” to “wise and respected post-menopausal woman.”

Oil hits $100 for first time since July as chaos continues in Strait of Hormuz– www.independent.co.uk

EXCERPT:

The price of oil crossed the $100 a barrel mark for the first time since July as continued chaos in the Middle East spooked the market.

As the market opened on Wednesday, the price for Brent Crude – the benchmark for oil across the world – hit $100.19 at around 8.15am. It later dropped slightly to $99 shortly after.

The Middle East conflict escalated ‌this week after Iranian-backed Houthi forces in Yemen launched strikes on several Saudi cities, drawing a ‌key US ally further into ‌the war.

Meanwhile, the US military has said it’s destroyed five Iranian tankers carrying crude following attempts to strike a US Navy warship with ballistic missiles.

Iran claimed to have attacked two American vessels and eight oil tankers in the Gulf. Shipping crews near Kuwaiti and Bahraini ports were warned to abandon their vesels.

The latest attacks threaten to deepen disruptions to Middle East oil supplies, already strained by strikes on regional energy infrastructure and key shipping lanes.

Brent crude prices were last this high in late July.

OMISSION: Networks SILENT on Canada-China Military Talks– www.newsbusters.org
News Source
EXCERPT:

The Elitist Media evening news continue their mission on trade, acting as spokespeople for the Canadian prime minister instead of reporting the full scope of US-Canada relations that led to the breakdown at the negotiating table. Over the weekend and through today, an alarming omission emerges.

It appears that the media insist on glossing over the influence that China may have over Canada. In this case, we are only finding out about a high-level security meeting because China disclosed it. Per the Toronto Star:

As the Carney government pursues deeper relations with Beijing, the Chinese government reports it held a “candid” exchange on military issues with Canadian officials earlier this month.

The meeting – which Beijing said took place in Canada on Sept. 4 – followed years of diplomatic strain and is raising concerns among Conservatives, who reject the idea of military co-operation with China.

China’s defence ministry revealed the two countries held their fifth defence co-ordination dialogue last week. Canada’s Defence Department confirmed that report days later.

It’s worth noting that the countries’ military meetings were suspended in 2018 after the Trudeau administration arrested Huawei’s CEO. Their resumption at this particular juncture seems highly questionable.

Even if we must be politically correct to those committing crimes, which we certainly should not be, why can’t the left make an exception for shooters who disregard human life? Because, in whatever pursuit that is, Interim Seattle Police Chief Andre Sayles has renamed shooters “trigger pullers” because of BLM or whatever.

This is objectively stupid and even more proof that the left prioritizes the feelings of criminals, including the ones who disregard the value of human life, over public safety. There should be more outrage over this.

According to Fox 13:

A violent 24-hour stretch in Seattle left three people dead and three others injured following three separate shooting incidents in and around the Belltown neighborhood.

Addressing potential staffing strains, Sayles said, “That’s something I have to look at. I haven’t really dove into what the staffing numbers looked like and if that was the case, then we will do what we need to do as a department to make sure that they are not overwhelmed.”

What a foolish response. It is his job to know the staffing numbers. He cannot even be bothered to do the bare minimum. What a disgrace this man is.

“We have officers in these dedicated areas. They’re a block or two away, and it’s one of those incidents where we respond to violence on a daily basis,” Sayles said. “It’s not like we can be there and stop it. But our goal is to be there and stop it.”

Maybe one day people like Sayles will fight for public safety the way he does for the feelings of evil losers, but until then, this is the best he can do. To call this a slap in the face to law-abiding Americans does not even begin to describe this absurdity.

Watch: Lindsay Clancy Jurors Accidentally Admit They Made Their Decision Based on the Wrong Criteria– www.westernjournal.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

After Friday’s mistrial in the Lindsay Clancy case, three jurors have come forward revealing how they saw the outcome — and their perspective is just as bad as you would imagine.

Clancy was on trial for the deaths of her three children in January 2023. Her defense attorney, Kevin Reddington, argued she should not be held criminally responsible due to postpartum depression and psychosis. A mistrial was declared after one juror held out against the rest, refusing to retreat from the charges against her.

Now, we’re hearing from three women who saw it differently and gave an interview to WBTS — Paula Devlin, Roni Carlson, and Kellie Farina.

Their comments showed they were completely clueless and favored Clancy for reasons that had nothing to do with the law.

WBTS posted the interview to YouTube on Tuesday. Farina called the prosecution’s opening statement “harsh,” and said she did not like that they did not present character witnesses for Clancy. “You’re presenting all these medical professionals, but nobody’s presenting for the prosecution, a woman, a mother of three children.”

“I found it to be biased right out of the gate.”

Should Lindsay Clancy have been convicted of murder?

Why would the prosecution need to talk about her character?

Reddington admitted she killed three children. Would talking about her role as a mother before killing three children completely excuse that completely evil act?

What does “bias” have to do with anything? They are the prosecution. They are trying to prove she murdered her children.

“There is no compassion in this courtroom right now,” Farina recalled, apparently forgetting that compassion was not shown to the children Clancy killed.

When Devlin was asked if the prosecution said anything she considered in her decision, she gave a blunt “no.”

Related:

On the other side, all three women could not stop swooning over Reddington. It was not because of the legality of his defense. They just seemed to like him.

Carlson recalled laughing at Reddington, saying his demeanor was “funny,” adding that “he was entertaining, which was good because we needed some of that.”

Devlin noted he was both “arrogant and entertaining,” before Farina added “but compassionate,” to which Devlin agreed.

“His compassion toward Lindsay was amazing,” she added.

Again, none of this should have anything to do with a murder trial and the facts presented.

It is clear these women went off of their emotions and were ready to let a child killer go free.

All three of them should be embarrassed to admit these things.

It is further proof that the one holdout juror was possibly the only sane voice during deliberations.

Nancy Pelosi Disclosed a Multi-Million Dollar AI Investment Just Weeks Before the Stock Blew Up– www.westernjournal.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi disclosed a multimillion-dollar investment last month in an artificial intelligence company whose stocks exploded in value soon after.

Pelosi’s husband Paul invested in Bloom Energy, a California-based company that provides fuel-cell technology and power systems aimed at meeting the enormous electricity demands of AI data centers.

According to a financial transaction report Pelosi signed Aug. 21, her household made several Bloom Energy purchases in late July.

The transactions included 10,000 shares purchased July 24, along with 100 call options, according to reporting from the New York Post. Another 5,000 shares and 100 additional call options were purchased July 28.

The disclosed value ranges put the combined transactions at a minimum of roughly $3 million, although the actual amount could have been as much as $12 million, because congressional financial disclosure forms use broad dollar ranges.

The July 24 purchases came after Bloom Energy’s stock had suffered a significant decline.

Should members of Congress and their spouses be banned from buying and selling stocks?

Then came July 28.

That was the same day Bloom Energy reported extremely strong earnings, with annual revenue growth of 165 percent, according to the Post.

Bloom Energy’s stock subsequently took off.

Then, on Sept. 4, another major development arrived: Bloom Energy was announced as a new addition to the S&P 500.

The company is scheduled to join the benchmark index Sept. 21, alongside Everpure and Illumina.

Bloom Energy shares surged following the announcement, with the stock gaining nearly 40 percent over a five-day period, according to the Post.

Nancy Pelosi Is Attempting to Sabotage the Front-Runner to Replace Her in Congress: Report

By Tuesday, Bloom Energy shares were trading around $282.50, compared with $184.89 on July 24, the day of the first Pelosi household purchase.

That’s a striking move in a matter of weeks.

And it makes the timing of the disclosure noteworthy.

Pelosi’s office has said the former speaker does not own stocks and had no knowledge of or subsequent involvement in the transactions.

The trades were made by her husband and reported through the congressional disclosure system as transactions involving a spouse.

In an article about the transactions, financial writer Rich Duprey of 24/7 Wall Street  dubbed Pelosi “the queen of capital gains.”

“Pelosi’s trading record in Congress has consistently outpaced the S&P 500 and even Warren Buffett over comparable stretches, fueling suspicion that lawmakers with committee-level oversight enjoy an informational edge,” Duprey observed.

The New York Post said Pelosi “has faced heated blowback for her family’s trading activity — racking up a 65% return on her portfolio in 2023 while her venture capitalist husband made $38 million worth of stock trades in the weeks leading up to President Trump’s inauguration.”

Duprey noted that multiple bills to ban stock trading by members of Congress have been introduced, but they’ve all stalled.

The Democratic former House Speaker’s trades have been so notable that in 2023, GOP Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri introduced one such bill that he dubbed the Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments Act – or the PELOSI Act.

Hawley later met with Democrats and agreed to change the name of the bill to the HONEST Act — Halting Ownership and Non-Ethical Stock Transactions — which allowed enough Democratic support to advance the bill out of committee in July 2025.

Ending Discrimination Against Stay-At-Home Moms Is Not ‘Welfare’– thefederalist.com
News Source

EXCERPT:

Family and children are and have always been the cornerstone of conservatism. The moment the New York Times publicized the Trump team’s plan to make stay at home mothers eligible for childcare payments, however, another GOP feud was born.

The lines were immediately clear. The same folks that find any excuse to complain about Vice President J.D. Vance as the face of the “woke right” are taking aim at a proposal that would make certain single income households helmed by married parents eligible for childcare subsidies typically handed to daycares.

The current eligibility structure of the 30-year-old Child Care and Development Fund program is flawed and, like most welfare programs, susceptible to exploitation by fraudsters and moochers. The $12 billion in taxes the daycare program spends on subsidizing unmarried working mothers incentivizes out of wedlock births and outsourcing parenting duties, both inherently anti-conservative behaviors.

Under the Trump administration’s proposal, “parent-based child care” in a home supported by a spouse who “works at least 35 hours per week” and meets the same income qualifications as current recipients would be recognized as a legitimate cause worthy of tax dollars.

The proposed reform, which can’t be implemented without a comment period and until at least next year, does not expand the CCDF or demand more taxation. It simply redirects already-allocated funds, which Trump’s HHS tried to scale back, to better align government spending with the Trump administration’s pro-family goals and not discriminate against families with married parents on a single income.

A small sliver of stay-at-home parents would actually qualify for the payout, but the knee-jerk reaction from the think tank right was to vilify those who want to raise their own babies as “welfare queens” and “socialist.” They claim they shouldn’t have their hard-earned money “stolen” and handed to women who don’t “organize their lives so that they can work from home or provide for their families in a flexible manner.”

The debate quickly shifted from those spending complaints to claims that moms and dads both having to work is actually a good thing and it’s okay that tax dollars are currently used to subsidize that corporate framework.

In an ideal world, the government axes the welfare program altogether and instead offers families with a stay-at-home mother a $9000 tax break. But that’s not on the table. The chances that Republicans will further risk re-election to go after the “social safety net” are low and contra to history. As I type, our GOP-controlled Congress sits in recess. This scheduled break comes just a few months before the midterms and after two years of legislators largely failing to move the needle in favor of the conservative voters who elected them.

Pretending that Trump can put the CCDF on the chopping block tomorrow is a false dilemma that completely ignores the willingness and “power of the purse.” The people arguing such are not simply being intellectually dishonest, they are further proving why conservatives have so much ground to make up in the first place.

The welfare state is a scourge, but it’s not going away anytime soon. Which is exactly why we have to harness it or risk losing it yet another very important cultural battlefield to the left. In the wild world of welfare, financially compensating married stay-at-home moms is the lesser of tax-funded evils. In fact, despite what the nasties online suggest, it’s not an evil at all.

Data shows that while “one-earner families (whether the breadwinner is male or female) have fallen economically behind,” having a stay-at-home mom is good for the development and well-being of both younger and older kids and boosts America’s already-tumbling birth rate.

Data showing the differences in outcomes between children of working moms and stay-at-home moms is hard to find, we do know that homeschooled children, whose education requires an at-home parent (mostly mom), are “healthier, happier, more virtuous” and less likely to engage in unsavory behaviors like illicit drugs, lying, and gambling than their conventionally schooled peers.

The facts is, children are better off if they are intentionally raised by their parents instead of a daycare, a nanny, and a government school. That’s a hard thing for some people, especially women, to hear. After all, many conservative females have bought the feminist-fueled lie that they can have a career and more even though data shows they are happier concentrating prioritizing marriage and kids.

While American families with stay-at-home moms are the minority, that isn’t because women want to be in the workforce; it’s because they have to be. According to a 2015 Gallup poll, a majority of mothers, 56 percent, would prefer to be full-time “homemakers” instead of full-time employees. The working mothers who could find a way leave their jobs over the last few years did so in significant swaths.

In the words of C.S. Lewis, “Children are not a distraction from more important work. They are the most important work.” Family is the foundation of civilization. The CCDF as is doesn’t simply pose a threat to the security and stability offered by married parents, it encourages the opposite. Something has to give and it we can’t let it be the foundation.

If Wall Street Republicans have made anything clear over the last couple months, it’s that GDP is God and funneling tax dollars to separate children from their mothers is a good thing. The recent infighting was never about $20 burritos and cutting stay-at-home moms a meager check that would otherwise go to subsidizing single motherhood. It’s about the battle between living out conservative values and accepting the cultural lies we’ve been sold as truth.

Elitist Media: Are We Going to ‘Survive’ Destructive Donald Trump?– www.newsbusters.org

EXCERPT:

As the midterm elections get closer, the elitist media is turning up their hate machine to stoke their audiences into an anti-Trump frenzy.

MS NOW’s Joe Scarborough fearmongered that President Donald Trump was tearing down institutions “brick by brick” that keep Americans safe as he questioned: “Are we gonna survive?”

Scarborough’s MS NOW partner Mika Brzezinski claimed that Trump’s ICE agents were Nazi “shock troops” that are gunning down Americans.

This past month also saw podcaster Jennifer Welch agitate against Trump and his supporters: “They are dismantling our country. They are opening up concentration camps in the United States of America.”

MS NOW and PBS contributor Jonathan Capehart gloomily warned: “Trump is determined to destroy what makes America great.”

The leftist elitists in the entertainment industry took potshots too. Comedian Rosie O’Donnell (who fled to Ireland to escape Trump) returned to guest-host ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!. She used that show’s opening monologue to attack the President for bringing “fascism and the measles” back.

ABC’s The View co-host Whoopi Goldberg urged her anti-Trump audience to vote in the midterms because: “Our lives literally depend on this.”

The following are the most obnoxious outbursts from leftist journalists and celebrities over the last month:

Joe Scarborough: Are We Going to “Survive” Trump and His Nazi “Shock Troops?”

“You see what’s happened at the DOD. You see what’s happened at the Justice Department. You see what’s happened at the National Institutes of Health. All of these, all of these institutions that have been built up to protect Americans and to extend American power and safety across the globe – being torn down brick by brick, piece by piece, by this Trump Administration. And the question people have is, are we gonna survive?”

WATCH: Families Plead for Mamdani to Stay Away from 9/11 Memorial After He Says He’ll Attend Event Despite Their Wishes: “He’s Serving Himself”– www.thegatewaypundit.com

Giovanni Galante, who lost his wife Grace on 9/11, tells Zohran Mamdani, “We really want us to be left alone”

Families of the victims of 9/11 gathered on Tuesday in Manhattan to send a clear message to New York Mayor , telling him to stay away from their 9/11 memorial service.

As Mamdani plans to defy the families’ wishes, Giovanni Galante, the organizer of a petition to bar Mamdani from the event, said they just want “to be left alone” to mourn the 25th anniversary of their losses.

“He just wants to be there because he wants to be there,” said Charles Wolf, noting that “This mayor is not serving us; he’s serving himself.”

The petition, launched by families of the victims and signed by over 100,000 people, describes the event as “not simply a public ceremony,” but “a deeply personal day of mourning.”

“The presence of individuals whose words or associations are perceived as conflicting with the solemn purpose of the event risks detracting from that focus and causing additional pain,” it reads, giving examples of why sympathizer Mamdani is not welcome.

Concerns have been raised about Mr. Mamdani’s public positions, associations, and responses to rhetoric that many perceive as hostile to these shared values. These include:

  •           A perceived reluctance to clearly and unequivocally condemn phrases such as “globalize the intifada,” which many interpret as endorsing or normalizing violence.
  •           Support for, or associations with, individuals whose public statements or records are viewed by concerned family members as dismissive of American institutions or insufficiently critical of extremist ideologies.
  •           Mr. Mamdani’s own father, whom he has acknowledged as having shaped his views, penned a book shortly after 9/11 in which he argued that suicide bombers should be “understood as a feature of modern political violence rather than stigmatized as a mark of barbarism.” He also argued that there was a moral equivalence between the and al-Qaeda.
  •           Mr. Mamdani has praised Brooklyn Imam Siraj Wahhaj, who has been linked to radical Islam, was named as an alleged co-conspirator in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and served as a character witness for the “Blind Sheikh,” who was convicted in 1995 of plotting terror attacks against the United States.
  •            Mr. Mamdani has blamed the United States for radicalizing Anwar al-Awlaki, an al-Qaeda propagandist linked to the 9/11 hijackers. Critics have likened this to blaming victims rather than perpetrators.
  •           Mr. Mamdani appointed Ramzi Kassem, who previously represented Ahmed al-Darbi (convicted in an al-Qaeda tanker bombing plot), as New York City’s chief counsel.
  •           Mr. Mamdani has endorsed candidates such as Aber Kawas, who described 9/11 as an attack “a couple of people did in the context of U.S. capitalism, racism, white supremacy, and Islamophobia,” and who also expressed sympathy for Ahmed Ferhani, who pleaded guilty to plotting to blow up a Manhattan synagogue.
  •           Mr. Mamdani recently stood with DSA primary winner Darializa Aria Chevalier, who once tweeted, “I forgot to get napkins so I just wiped my hand on the American flag behind me.”

Still, Mamdani declared that he will “proudly honor the families, the survivors, the first responders, forever impacted by that horrific terror attack by standing alongside them at this year’s 9/11 commemoration,” the Gateway Pundit reported.

On Tuesday, family members, first responders, and elected officials made their final pleas for the mayor not to attend.

Giovanni Galante, who lost his wife Grace in the terrorist attack and organized the petition, said at the press conference, “I’m here to honor my beautiful wife and to have this man not attend our service. The main purpose is just that we don’t believe in what he believes in, and we really want us to be left alone.”

“The purpose of this whole thing, this 25th anniversary, is for our, you know, victims and us survivors to blend in and pray that day for all the families, not have a circus around us,” he said.

Monica Iken, who lost her husband, Michael, stated, “It’s a blessing that we can go to this memorial and honor our loved ones and not just their death. So that’s a very important thing.”

“I support the families. I feel like if the families really feel, if we feel, that we don’t want someone at our world-class memorial museum that’s sacred and hallowed, we feel that that person should respect our wishes,” Iken said.

She further noted that Mamdani “wasn’t even here” during 9/11/2001. “He was 10, he wasn’t in this country, and I think he should really respect us,” she added. “Just let us have our peace, our memorial, to really understand why we’re here. We’re honoring our loved ones.”

“I want to make clear that our petition is not about Mayor Mamdani’s religion or where he came from. It is strictly about the policies that he has today,” said Cheri Sparacio, the wife of 9/11 victim Tom Sparacio. She then pointed to Mamdani’s support for Hasan Piker, who said America deserved 9/11, and his hiring of Ramzi Kassem, who once represented Ahmed al-Darbi, an al-Qaeda operative convicted in the 2002 bombing of a French oil tanker and the brother-in-law of 9/11 Pentagon hijacker Khalid al-Mihdhar.

“Yes, he was a nine-year-old boy when 9/11 happened, but it is today that he stands with people like Hasan Piker. It is today that he hires people like Ramzi Kassem. It is today that he stands with an imam that was a co-conspirator of the 93 bombing. That is what we object to,” she said.

Jeannette Puccio-Pick, whose father was killed in the attack when she was nine years old, put it simply, saying, “My message to Mayor Mamdani is: Dude, we don’t want you to come.”

“We don’t want a mayor who only wants to be there for the publicity. This mayor is not serving us; he’s serving himself. We are asking, respectfully, that he not show up,” said Charles Wolf, whose wife, Katherine, was killed while working in the North Tower on 9/11.

“Even though there is going to be other politicians there, these are the politicians that helped us, pushed beneficial laws through, and literally held our hand during that time. Mayor Mamdani has not shown any of that, none of it. He just wants to be there because he wants to be there. So, we are asking him to respect the fact that trauma is revived during the ceremony. It is a private ceremony. It is not a public ceremony. Mayor Mamdani, please do not come.”

WATCH:

After the speeches, the reporters present had no questions for the families. There was no way for them to defend Mamdani.

Fox’s Harris Faulkner was in disbelief at the press’s refusal.
