In a move that could help the political group most likely to be against it, SCOTUS has dismissed recent challenges to its ruling that made gay marriage a constitutional right. Had SCOTUS taken the case and struck down the 2015 ruling it would have made gay marriage a top wedge issue for the DNC, assuring it holds onto its white suburban female vote.
The U.S. Supreme Court rejected on Monday a bid by a former Kentucky county official to overturn its landmark 2015 ruling legalizing same-sex marriage nationwide, as the justices steered clear of the contentious case more than three years after its conservative majority reversed abortion rights.
The court, which has a 6-3 conservative majority, turned away an appeal by Kim Davis, a former Kentucky county clerk who was sued by a gay couple after refusing to issue any marriage licences once the 2015 decision recognized a constitutional right to same-sex marriage. Davis has said same-sex marriage conflicts with her religious beliefs as an Apostolic Christian.
Davis appealed after lower courts rejected her claim that the U.S. Constitution’s First Amendment right to free exercise of religion shields her from liability in the case. Davis was ordered to pay more than $360,000 in damages and legal fees for violating a same-sex couple’s right to marry.

As protests continue against the new government in South Korea over its seeming embrace of China and North Korea, the Democrats prepare to crack down on the dissenters. The Democratic Party of Korea is introducing multiple bills in the legislature it controls that would criminalize anti-China protests.
Democratic Party Representative Yang Bu-nam introduced an amendment to the criminal act that would prohibit anti-China protests. He justified the actions, claiming, “On March 3 of last month, participants at an anti-China rally sang a song containing lyrics like ‘Changgae, Bukgye, and red communists should leave quickly’ and used profanity, spreading false claims about Chinese interference in elections.”
The Democratic Party of Korea has consecutively proposed bills targeting anti-China protests. The People Power Party has reacted by criticizing, “They remain silent on anti-U.S. and anti-Japan protests but single out anti-China demonstrations.” Critics argue that the Democratic Party, which has long emphasized the freedom of assembly and expression, is now leading efforts to suppress protests. On the 6th, the party also passed an amendment to the Aviation Safety Act at the National Assembly’s Legislation and Judiciary Committee, banning the distribution of anti-North Korea leaflets in no-fly zones near border areas. The People Power Party opposed the move, stating, “It has unconstitutional elements, including infringing on freedom of expression.”
Democratic Party Representative Yang Bu-nam proposed a Criminal Act amendment on the 4th to recognize defamation against specific groups. Under the bill, those who defame the honor of specific nations, peoples, or races face up to five years in prison or a fine of up to 10 million Korean won, while those who publicly insult them face up to one year in prison or a fine of up to 2 million Korean won. Current law limits defamation and insult victims to individuals, but the amendment expands this to groups.
U.S. officials are increasingly moving themselves and their families onto military bases in response to rising threats from within that are connected to the usual Progmerican, DNC blue shirts threats. In addition to the DNC threats, the officials are also facing an ‘ongoing foreign threat.”
In response to this ratcheting up of threats, the Trump administration is building “a quick reactionary force” in every state through the National Guard to deal with the rising DNC blue-shirts threats. Some of the officials include, Marco Rubio, Kristi Noem, and Stephen Miller.

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday he had agreed with President Xi Jinping to trim tariffs on China in exchange for Beijing cracking down on the illicit fentanyl trade, resuming U.S. soybean purchases and keeping rare earths exports flowing.
Trump’s face-to-face talks with Xi in the South Korean city of Busan, their first since 2019, marked the finale of the U.S. president’s whirlwind Asia trip on which he also touted trade breakthroughs with South Korea, Japan and Southeast Asian nations.
“I thought it was an amazing meeting,” Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One shortly after he departed Busan, ranking the talks a “12 out of 10.”
Trump said tariffs imposed on Chinese imports would be cut to 47 per cent from 57 per cent by halving the rate of tariffs related to trade in fentanyl precursor drugs to 10 per cent from 20 per cent.
Xi will work “very hard to stop the flow” of fentanyl, a deadly synthetic opioid that is the leading cause of American overdose deaths, Trump said. The tariff was reduced “because I believe they are really taking strong action,” he added.

World stock markets from Wall Street to Tokyo had hit record highs leading up to the meeting on hopes of a breakthrough in a trade war between the world’s two largest economies that has upended supply chains and rocked global business confidence.
The cordial meeting, which took place on the sidelines of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit, lasted nearly two hours.
Trump repeatedly talked up the prospect of reaching agreement with Xi since U.S. negotiators on Sunday said they had agreed a framework with China that will avoid 100 per cent U.S. tariffs on Chinese goods and achieve a deferral of China’s export curbs on rare earths, a sector it dominates.
But with both countries increasingly willing to play hardball over areas of economic and geopolitical competition, many questions remain about how long any trade detente may last.
As they sat down to begin talks at a South Korean air base on Thursday morning, Xi told Trump via a translator it was normal for the superpowers to have frictions now and then.
Beijing seeks easing of U.S. export controls
A few days ago, trade negotiators for both countries reached a “fundamental consensus on addressing each other’s primary concerns,” Xi said. “I am willing to continue working with President Trump to lay a solid foundation for China-U.S. relations,” he added.
As well as trimming the fentanyl tariffs, Beijing had sought an easing of export controls on sensitive U.S. technology, and a rollback of new U.S. port fees on Chinese vessels aimed at combating China’s global dominance in shipbuilding, ocean freight and logistics.
Trump made no immediate comment on U.S. concessions but said China would purchase “tremendous amounts” of U.S. soybeans and other farm products “starting immediately.”
Ahead of the summit, China bought its first cargoes of U.S. soybeans in several months, Reuters reported exclusively on Wednesday.
Previous trade deals, which brought down retaliatory tariffs on the U.S. side and restarted the flow of rare earth magnets from China, are due to expire on November 10.
But Beijing dramatically expanded its controls on rare earths earlier this month, minerals used in everything from cars to fighter jets on which they have a global stranglehold.
“They’re not going to impose the rare earth controls,” Trump told reporters.
Trump signed various pacts with Japan and Southeast Asian nations on diversifying supplies of rare earths during his trip, though blunting China’s dominance in that area may take years.
The leaders did not discuss chipmaker Nvidia’s state-of-art Blackwell artificial intelligence chip, Trump said, walking back the previous day’s remarks about potentially helping the company to export a scaled-down version of its current flagship GPU processor, a key component in the AI race.
Five GOP Senators have helped pass a resolution by the Senate that would end Trump’s power to declare tariffs against Brazil. The House will need to affirm the resolution, which it cannot do until January. The resolution is expected to ultimately lead to blocking Trump from using tariffs completely.
The five votes came from Susan Collins of Main, Lisa Murkowski of Alaska, Rand Paul of Kentucky, Thom Tillis of North Carolina, and finally Mitch McConnell. The most disconcerting vote is Rand Paul, who, like Thomas Massie, has failed to realize we are in the middle of a civil war. Paul chose economic autistic “principles” lead him to empower a party hellbent on destroying the republic. Tariffs are NOT being used for economic reasons, they are being used geopolitically.

The U.S. House Oversight Committee issued a report that claims the evidence they have collected nullifies the legal authority of the Biden autopen on key pardons. The report claimed, “Barring evidence of executive actions taken during the Biden presidency showing that President Biden indeed took a particular executive action, the Committee deems those actions taken through use of the autopen as void.”
The committee also asked the Department of Justice to “determine whether legal action is necessary to ameliorate consequences of any illegitimate pardons granted, or executive actions implemented, throughout the Biden Autopen Presidency.”
The House Oversight Committee released a nearly 100-page report on Tuesday deeming invalid those executive actions and pardons issued without proper authorization and with machine-generated signatures in former President Joe Biden’s name.
It looks like the President Joe Biden Committee’s efforts to forgive student debt are not dead yet after the Trump administration settled with the American Federation of Teachers. Under the agreement, the Education Department will now begin applying some student loan forgiveness to people based on their yearly salaries.
This agreement does not provide full forgiveness, but some forgiveness along with a cheaper repayment plan. AFT President Randi Weingarten said in a statement “We took on the Trump administration when it refused to follow the law and denied borrowers the relief they were owed. Our agreement means that those borrowers stuck in limbo can either get immediate relief or finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.”
The Trump administration has agreed to resume student loan forgiveness for an estimated 2.5 million borrowers who are enrolled in certain federal repayment plans following a lawsuit from the American Federation of Teachers.
Under the agreement reached Friday between the teachers union and the administration, the Education Department will process loan forgiveness for those eligible in certain repayment plans that offer lower monthly payments based on a borrower’s earnings. The government had stopped providing forgiveness under those plans based on its interpretation of a different court decision.
The agreement will also protect borrowers from being hit with high tax bills on debt due to be forgiven this year.
Three bills racing through Canada’s parliament could give the government the power to search and seize their citizens at random, ban anyone from gaining access to the internet, and arrest citizens for statements they made in the past that the government deems “hateful.”
Bill C-2 allows the government to randomly search citizens’ mail, computers, and cellphones. Bill C-8 essentially empowers the government to ban anyone, for any reason, from the internet. Bill C-9 removes barriers to citizens being charged for hateful comments and retroactively charges anyone that said hateful things in the past.
One of Canada’s leading constitutional law experts warned that Canada will be a “police state by Christmas” if lawmakers pass three new bills introduced by the federal Liberal government of Prime Minister Mark Carney.
In a recent video posted to X, Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) president John Carpay was direct in his assessment of the three Liberal bills, warning of a future Canada under true totalitarianism.

Parkinson said per the BBC that the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) sought to obtain testimony from Sir Kier Starmer’s government to confirm that the communist country did indeed represent a threat to Britain. However, the prime minister said that this could not be done because the official position of the previous Conservative government did not publicly classify China as a national security threat.

In a statement shared online, Paxton described the group as “a cabal of abortion-loving radicals” who “endangered the very people they pretended to help.”
The arrests are the latest development in an investigation into Maria Margarita Rojas, 49,who earlier in 2025 became the first to be charged under the Texas Human Life Protection Act.
Rojas faces 15 felony counts, including three for performing an abortion and 12 for practicing medicine without a license. Her case is ongoing.
Paxton said the eight new defendants were working under Rojas at her clinics in Waller, Cypress, Spring, and Katy.
Those charged were identified as Yaimara Hernandez Alvarez, Alina Valeron Leon, Dalia Coromoto Yanez, Yhonder Lebrun Acosta, Liunet Grandales Estrada, Gerardo Otero Aguero, Sabiel Bosch Gongora, and Jose Manuel Cendan Ley.
