Elon Musk and his D.O.G.E. team have been doing great work, though the messaging of that work has been sloppy at best. It’s presented in a way where edgelords can share posts on X and say “BASED” in all caps and leaves way too much room for the left and the media (but I repeat myself) to be handed ammo. To Americans in the middle, the work can look reckless and cruel. One of the problems of cutting the size of government is “we need to cut the size of government… but not like that.”

If this past weekend’s town hall in Wisconsin is any indication, it looks like Cousin Elon has landed on a way to explain D.O.G.E.’s work in a way that the average American worker can understand and say, “Dude, that’s messed up.”
