Americas 250th Anniversary

Some of us were hoping, or maybe wishing and hoping, that Governor Shapiro would finally stand up to the woke mob. He seemed like a good choice, a successful governor of a purple state who looks like a presidential candidate. Pennsylvania is not pushing taxpayers to Florida or driving moms crazy because they are teaching kids gender philosophy in grade school.

Unfortunately, Governor Shapiro missed a big moment, and he may regret it when the woke mob overwhelms him again. Let’s read this from Jonathan Turley:

Across the country, millions gathered for parades, fireworks, and family celebrations filled with genuine joy and pride. President Trump and the broader MAGA movement delivered the kind of unapologetic celebration America deserves. On the National Mall, Trump addressed the nation in a rousing speech that honored our heroes, celebrated our unmatched history, and declared the American Dream is back.

This is the best country in the world. The left knows that, which is why they refuse to leave, while attempting to lecture the masses on why this land is so evil. The problem with this is that not only is it illogical, but it will never put them on the “right side of history.” And to slander this great country and its flag on the 250th anniversary of its founding was not taken lightly by the patriots of this nation. This is why one man did what he felt needed to be done when he saw a deranged person lighting this nation’s flag on fire.

A lunatic in Durham, North Carolina, thought she or he or they was making a statement when she or he or they decided to light a flag on fire on the Fourth of July. No one was convinced of whatever it was they were trying to convey other than the other leftists on scene. The only sensible person around did what a lot of sane people would do when seeing a crazy person light a fire for no reason — stop it. This should not be controversial, but the pathetic left cannot stand it when people stand up for what is right.

President Donald Trump delivered a historic speech commemorating America’s 250th birthday at Mount Rushmore on Friday, giving a stark warning about the country’s future: If we are to sustain the nation for another 250 years, communism can have “no quarter” here.

Speaking hours after New York City communist Mayor Zohran Mamdani delivered an anti-American, communist speech about America 250, Trump took the stage to warn that foreigners are bringing with them ideologies fundamentally at odds with our republic.

“There is now a resurgence of the communist menace in our land, including from newcomers to our country who embrace ideas totally opposed to our way of life and our great success,” Trump said.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced on Saturday that U.S. dollar bills bearing President Trump’s signature were introduced to commemorate the country’s 250th anniversary.

“Under President Trump’s leadership, we are on a path toward unprecedented economic growth, lasting dollar dominance, and fiscal strength and stability,” Bessent said.

“There is no more powerful way to recognize the historic achievements of our great country and President Donald J. Trump than U.S dollar bills bearing his signature, and it is only appropriate that this historic currency be issued at the Semiquincentennial,” he continued.

The stage was bathed in dramatic, dark-red hues reminiscent of fascist regimes. Like, say, the Nazis.

As I wrote at the time, it was a “foaming, vitriolic, vengeful speech that seemed designed to pull our nation further apart and inflame the more than 73 million Americans who voted for his opponent in the last election.”

MS Now’s Ali Velshi said Sunday he feels a “deep unease” about celebrating America’s 250th birthday because America “has never actually fully reckoned with its racist past and its original founding sin of slavery.”

“I feel a deep unease about the celebrations to which I am invited to mark the 250th anniversary of our so-called democracy,” the Kenyan-born, Canadian raised, now-American-citizen said.
