Last weekend, an attempted bombing occurred outside Gracie Mansion, the official residence of New York City’s Muslim mayor, Zohran Mamdani (D). During a heated clash between anti-Islam protesters and a group of counterprotesters, two teenagers from Pennsylvania — 18-year-old Emir Balat and 19-year-old Ibrahim Kayumi — allegedly threw two improvised explosive devices toward the crowd.

Fortunately, neither bomb detonated, and no one was injured. Both Balat and Kayumi were arrested and charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization, using a weapon of mass destruction, transportation of explosive materials, and unlawful possession of destructive devices.

TPUSA Frontlines photojournalist Gabriel Victal was present at the scene when the attack occurred. But the attempted bombing, he says, “wasn’t the first instance” of violence.

Federal investigators are examining three phone calls placed from the family home of one of the suspects accused in an ISIS-inspired attempted bombing targeting Christian protesters and a conservative activist in New York City earlier this month.

According to a report from Fox News, the calls were placed from the suburban Philadelphia home of suspect Ibrahim Kayumi in the hours after the March 7 attack.

The calls were made to either 911 or non-emergency law enforcement lines.

For instance, in a remarkable pair of posts on the social media platform X, leftist actor and comedian Walter Masterson doubled down on his pro-open borders rhetoric even after a literal Islamic terrorist tossed a bomb over Masterson’s shoulder and into a crowd at an anti-Islam protest Saturday.

“Yesterday’s search of the storage unit believed to be connected to the Gracie Mansion incident revealed explosive residue. FBI Special Agent Bomb Technicians and the local bomb squads conducted a controlled detonation to ensure the safety of law enforcement and others in the area. We’re thankful for the assistance of the FBI Philadelphia Field Office and the local Middletown and Newton agencies who assisted our office throughout the night,” the FBI said in a post to X.

The NYPD has confirmed that the device thrown at conservative protesters in New York City was not just a crude explosive—it was a shrapnel bomb packed with nuts, bolts, and screws designed to maximize carnage. Police say that had it detonated, the blast could have killed or maimed large numbers of people in the crowd. New York came frighteningly close to a mass-casualty attack.

Federal authorities raided the homes of two suspects accused of throwing explosive devices at a group of Christian protesters and New York City Police Department (NYPD) officers during a protest in Manhattan on Saturday.

The raids came after law enforcement officials discovered what investigators believe may be a third explosive device on Sunday afternoon.

Authorities searched properties in Langhorne and Newtown Townships in Bucks County, Pennsylvania, where the suspects, 18-year-old Emir Balat and 19-year-old Ibrahim Kayumi, reside.

“We want everyone here to stay in New York,” comedian and counterprotester Walter Masterson was saying at an anti-Islamification demonstration Saturday when a Muslim man who pledged allegiance to ISIS allegedly chucked a bomb over his head into the crowd.

But that close call wasn’t enough to shake Masterson’s open-borders convictions. Within hours he doubled down on the same mass-migration position that helped enable the situation he found himself in.

“As a born and raised in New Yorker, everyone is welcome,” Masterson said. “Everyone except chief goatf-cker Jake Lang.”

An attorney representing one of the two men charged with an attempted ISIS-inspired attack in New York City over the weekend has claimed that his client did not know the other defendant charged in the case.

Speaking with reporters, the attorney representing Emir Balat, Mehei Essmiei, said, “I’m saying they’re from different parts of Pennsylvania, they’re in different age groups, they’re not known to each other. They did not live together. They do not have family or school ties.”

“There is no reason to believe they knew each other prior to this incident, and I don’t know how well they knew each other at the time of this incident,” he added.

Federal prosecutors say one of the suspects charged in the attempted bombing at a protest near New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s residence allegedly told investigators he wanted to carry out an attack “bigger than the Boston Marathon bombing.”

The claim appears in a criminal complaint filed Monday against Emir Balat and his co-defendant Ibrahim Kayumi.

The two suspected terrorists are accused of attempting to detonate explosive devices during a protest and counter-protest near Gracie Mansion.

New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani has weighed in on an attempted terror bombing outside his home on Saturday but is downplaying the role of the suspected perpetrators and blaming anti-Islam protestors.

Two individuals shouting “Allahu Akbar” allegedly tossed two improvised explosive devices into a small crowd of protestors led by January 6 defendant Jake Lang, which was protesting what it called the” Islamic Takeover of New York City.”

That protest drew a larger crowd of more than 100 counter-protestors calling themselves “Run the Nazis out of New York City, Stand Against Hate.”

Emir Balat, 18, and Ibrahim Kayumi, 19, were quickly taken into police custody after an explosive device with bolts and nuts taped to the outside of it was lit by one of the men and thrown into the crowd of protestors.

The device failed to detonate and no injuries were reported.

Count one alleges that the two “knowingly attempted to provide ‘material support or resources’… including personnel, to wit, themselves, and services to a foreign terrorist organization, to wit, the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (‘ISIS‘).” ISIS is a designated foreign terrorist organization. Count two details charges for use of a weapon of mass destruction, saying that the two “knowingly used, threatened, and attempted to use, a weapon of mass destruction—namely, a destructive device… against persons and property withing the United States…”

Counts three, four, and five all stem from the first two and reference transportation of explosive materials, interstate transportation and receipt of explosives, and the unlawful possession of destructive devices.
