DOGE Treasury

The Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has reportedly found $4.7 trillion in payments were not documented sufficiently to determine where those payments were going. Going forward, the option to leave payment details blank is no longer available.

It could be here. It could be there. It could be almost anywhere.

So says the Department of Government Efficiency about almost $5 trillion in taxpayer money that has been spent on who-knows-what.

“The Treasury Access Symbol (TAS) is an identification code linking a Treasury payment to a budget line item (standard financial process). In the Federal Government, the TAS field was optional for — $4.7 Trillion in payments and was often left blank, making traceability almost impossible,” DOGE posted on X.

“As of Saturday, this is now a required field, increasing insight into where money is actually going. Thanks to @USTreasury for the great work,” the post said.

Musk noted that the problem should not take place going forward.

“Major improvement in Treasury payment integrity going live! This was a combined effort of @DOGE @USTreasury and @FederalReserve. Nice work by all,” he posted on X.

DOGE has been controversial because of the high-velocity impact of its analysis of government spending and recommendations to close loopholes and cut waste.

In a video posted to X last week, President Donald Trump said DOGE is an integral part of his efforts to cut government waste.

The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has become a den of leftist slush funds laundering U.S. tax dollars from alleged international outreach efforts to far-left radical activist organizations. Elon Musk’s DOGE (Department of Government Efficiency) uncovered the rot, forcing a dramatic showdown at the Department of State that led to the laying off of two leaders at USAID.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed the shutting down of USAID, stating “Consistent with President Trump’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid, Secretary Rubio has paused all U.S. foreign assistance funded by or through the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for review. He is initiating a review of all foreign assistance programs to ensure they are efficient and consistent with U.S. foreign policy under the America First agenda.”

Last week President Donald Trump took executive action to freeze the vast majority of all foreign aid payments made through the United States Agency for International Development. Secretary of State Marco Rubio took swift action to comply.

“Consistent with President Trump’s Executive Order on Reevaluating and Realigning United States Foreign Aid, Secretary Rubio has paused all U.S. foreign assistance funded by or through the State Department and U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) for review. He is initiating a review of all foreign assistance programs to ensure they are efficient and consistent with U.S. foreign policy under the America First agenda,” the State Department released in a statement about the move.

“President Trump stated clearly that the United States is no longer going to blindly dole out money with no return for the American people. Reviewing and realigning foreign assistance on behalf of hardworking taxpayers is not just the right thing to do, it is a moral imperative. The Secretary is proud to protect America’s investment with a deliberate and judicious review of how we spend foreign assistance dollars overseas,” the statement continues.

The review of USAID spending has been underway and is ongoing. The findings, detailing how USAID spends American tax dollars, are astonishing.

Meanwhile, U.S. Envoy for Special Projects Richard Grenell is calling for an investigation into for USAID director Samantha Power.
