Elon Musk‘s artificial intelligence startup xAI has been talking to Oracle executives about spending $10 billion to rent cloud servers from the company over a period of years, The Information reported on Tuesday, citing a person involved in the talks.

Indian-American academic, entrepreneur and author Vivek Wadhwa on Monday said that he had warned the Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk not to pick China as they would “rob him blind” and instead asked him to consider moving manufacturing to India.
Quoting the Director of Centre for Russia Europe Asia Studies, Theresa Fallon, in a post on X, who said that US and European automakers are failing in China because “they were looking only for short-term gain and transferring technology, management techniques and know-how to China,” Vivek Wadhwa said that he had “exchanged emails with Musk about the risks in China a few years ago.”

Tesla chief executive Elon Musk has criticised Meta owner Mark Zuckerberg for being “excessively greedy”. He said that the Facebook owner takes credits for advertisers’ campaigns on its platforms which he should not, India Today reported.
The dispute unfolded after a user posted on X formerly known as Twitter about the attribution of conversions in advertising campaigns on both X and Meta platforms.
The user shared that despite running ad campaigns on both the platforms, the majority of conversions came from Meta while only some were from X.
An Australian federal court sided with Elon Musk on Monday, rejecting an Australian safety regulator’s request to extend a temporary order blocking a terrorist attack video from spreading on Musk’s platform X (formerly Twitter).
The video showed a teen stabbing an Assyrian bishop, Mar Mari Emmanuel—whose popular, sometimes controversial TikTok sermons often garner millions of views—during a church livestream that rapidly spread online.
Police later determined it was a religiously motivated terrorist act after linking the 16-year-old charged in the stabbing to a group of seven teens “accused of following a violent extremist ideology in raids across Sydney,” AP News reported. Ex-OpenAI co-founder alleges Sam Altman subverted company’s original goal of transparency, becoming a largely for-profit entity
The California judge presiding over Elon Musk’s lawsuit against OpenAI and its CEO, Sam Altman, has removed himself from the case. Judge Ethan Schulman on Monday sustained a challenge from Musk’s lawyers, which cited a California state law that allows plaintiffs and defendants to remove a judge they believe cannot grant an impartial trial.
The law, known as California Code of Civil Procedure 170.6, does not require the person issuing the challenge to provide any factual basis for their claim that the judge is prejudiced against them. Each side in a case gets one such peremptory challenge, which is granted as long as it is filed with correct language and within a certain time frame.
Elon Musk has waded into the debate about a new Canadian hate speech bill that would allow citizens to seek financial compensation from anyone who posts “discriminatory” content online.
The new Online Harms Bill, unveiled in February by Canada’s ruling Liberal Party and championed by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, would create a government body charged with regulating hate speech and protecting children on social media.
Separately, it would also raise the maximum sentences for illegal hate speech, while allowing citizens to report discriminatory speech to a human rights tribunal with the power to award compensation of up to C$20,000 or a fine of up to C$50,000.
On Tuesday, Mr Musk retweeted what appears to be an untrue claim about the bill: that it gives police the power to arrest anyone who has ever posted hate speech, even if it happened before the bill was passed.

The Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has left the board of Bluesky, the decentralised social network he helped start, and encouraged users to remain on his first site, now owned by Elon Musk and called X.
Dorsey confirmed he had cut ties with Bluesky on Sunday, telling a user on X that he was no longer on the social network’s board. The announcement was apparently unexpected, since Bluesky still listed him as a board member until late on Sunday evening.
One of Tesla’s top executives has been reassigned to China in another sign that Elon Musk is tightening his grip on the electric carmaker.
Tom Zhu, who was previously in charge of Tesla’s US plants and sales — effectively making him second in command to Elon Musk — has now been named VP of China, Electrek reports.
Prior to the move, Zhu had assumed more responsibilities at Tesla as Musk was increasingly occupied by X, according to Electrek.
Reuters reported last year that Zhu — who had formerly led the Gigafactory Shanghai manufacturing plant — had been promoted.
Now, Musk has resumed control of Tesla’s North American sales operations, Electrek reports.
Tesla did not immediately respond to a request for comment from Business Insider.

It was unclear Monday afternoon how many workers have been affected by the latest round of job cuts. While at least one worker said they were directly informed by their manager, it’s likely that many found out by email.
“You will not need to perform any further work and therefore will no longer have access to Tesla systems and physical locations,” an email shared by one now-former Tesla worker said. “We understand this news is difficult and are committed to supporting you through this transition,” the email continued, before informing them that additional information would be sent within 48 hours.
