Spain’s Federal Police Union (UFP) on Sunday denounced the “absolute collapse” of Ceuta’s overworked police forces, pushed to their limit by the mass illegal migrant invasion of the embattled enclave.

The police union is demanding the Spanish socialist central government deploys reinforcements to help the exhausted policemen in Ceuta amid rising violence — with a group police officers working long shifts to process a massive amount of asylum requests presented by alleged asylum seekers that swarmed their way into the Spanish North African Exclave in late July.

The UFP denounced the dramatic situation to several Spanish outlets on Sunday, elevating the union’s protests and demands after one of the overworked police officers in Ceuta suffered a heart attack over the weekend and was urgently admitted to a local Intensive Care Unit (UCI).

The Federal Police Union is reportedly attributing the officer’s heart attack to the “brutal level of stress and pressure” that police officers are facing as a result of the invasion.

According to El Pueblo de Ceuta, the UFP insists that the invasion of Ceuta has left a crisis that goes beyond migration, with the arrival of thousands of illegal migrants overwhelming the operation capacity of the exclave’s police forces. The chaotic late July events plunged the Spanish North African exclave into a far-from-resolved crisis including,  but not limited to, a surge in crime, sexual and other forms of violent assault, and the systematic collapse of Ceuta’s healthcare services.

Ceuta, which is on the African continent, has been flooded with migrants in recent weeks, leading to tremendous strain on local residents and a number of shocking crimes.

The schoolgirl cried to a local news crew that the arrivals have made life in Ceuta unrecognizable.

“I want to go to school in peace, but we can’t go,” the child said, per a report from The Daily Wire.

“We’re scared. Very scared. We’re in a very bad way.”

A Spanish girl just sobbed on live TV: she’s too scared to go to school in her own city.

That’s Ceuta. After the migrant surge. Schools occupied. Streets unsafe. Parents keeping daughters home.

Under Islam, shariah (Islamic) law supersedes Western law. Anywhere Western law and Shariah law conflict, it is always Western law that must give way. What those of us working in defense of freedom did not expect, was the craven capitulation and cowardice by Western left elites to Islamic supremacy.

In a matter of weeks Ceuta, Spain has turned into a third world hellhole.

Trash now fills the beaches and oceans while thousands of Muslim invaders have fully taken over.

And the government is doing nothing about it.

The residents of a tiny Spanish province in Northern Africa mounted a mass protest to call for action against the tens of thousands of illegal aliens who tried to breach the border from Morocco.

The protesters gathered at the Plaza de la Constitución under the slogan, “Enough, Ceuta won’t give up!” and waved Spanish flags while singing their national anthem, according to Reuters.

‘One day it’s 500 people, the next, 70,000, and they cannot be sent back! What kind of law allows for rejection by land but not by sea …’

Dozens of migrants perished in the waters trying to swim into Ceuta from Morocco in order to try to gain entry into Spain.

The protest was reportedly organized in part by leaders in the four main religious communities in Ceuta: Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Hindu.

Samuel Levy, a member of Ceuta’s Jewish community, spoke about the protest to a local news outlet.

A 26-year-old Algerian migrant arrested for a violent street assault in Valencia has now been formally accused of two sexual assaults against a homeless woman, according to Spain’s National Police. The suspect, identified as Said Leksili, faces the additional charges after investigators linked him to attacks that took place on July 22 and 23 – just one day before he beat his neighbor into a coma, which landed him behind bars.

Upon his arrest for the assault, Spanish police discovered that Leksili, who entered Spain illegally six years ago and has an open deportation file that has never been executed, had already accumulated 18 previous police arrests, half for violent acts, before the July 24 incident.

When arrested by police, the suspect told them: “I drank a lot and I don’t remember anything.”

His 47-year-old victim reportedly remains close to death in a Valencia hospital.

Father Javier Aizpún, a priest in the Archdiocese of Pamplona and Tudela, went viral in recent days after he called for a “Reconquista” of Morocco to Catholicism in response to tens of thousands of migrants swarming into Spain last week.

Per various Spanish media outlets, Fr. Aizpún, the canon of the Pamplona Cathedral, in a series of since deleted social media posts in the wake of approximately 50,000-60,000 migrants rushing into the small Spanish territory of Ceuta from the Moroccan border last week asked for the intercession of Our Lady of Africa, the patroness of the city, to spur the “Reconquista” of Morocco to Catholicism.

The priest also called for all “Arab colonizers” to be expelled from the northern region of the African country, called “Mauretania Tingitana” by the ancient Romans, and reclaim the original “Roman Hispania.”

“May Our Lady of Africa, patron saint of Ceuta, spur the reconquest of Morocco and its conversion to Christianity,” the priest wrote in one of the now-deleted posts. “Let us finish what Queen Isabella the Catholic left undone.”
