Anti-America, Pro-Iran Spanish Prime Minister’s Wife Just Criminally Charged – RedState– redstate.com News Source
EXCERPT:
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has been sticking his thumb in the eye of the United States for years, but now he’s got other things to worry about than whether to continue to tear down the Western alliance at the behest of Islamists. According to reports, Sanchez’s wife, Begona Gomez, has been criminally charged for various corruption-related offenses, including influence peddling and embezzlement.
Spain pushes China to assume global leadership role during Iran war– www.washingtonexaminer.com News Source
EXCERPT:
Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Monday pushed China to embrace a larger role on the world stage as Europe increasingly turns to Beijing amid growing tensions with the United States.
Sanchez’s speech at Beijing’s Tsinghua University follows recent moves from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, and others to tighten ties with China after the Trump administration redefined its relationship with Europe, leading many allies to question Washington’s commitment to long-standing alliances.
On the day before he is set to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Sanchez pushed back against the notion that Europe holds little value and called on China to help fill what he described as a new power vacuum left by the U.S.
“Europe may seem small on a map. But its weight is decisive, and its unity is a guarantee of stability and prosperity in the world, a world that cannot be understood without China,” Sanchez said. “We are called upon to understand one another and to cooperate.”
“Europe will also have to redouble its efforts, especially now that the United States has decided to withdraw from many of these fronts,” he added.
New bill in Germany could block people with ‘extremist’ views from buying houses– www.lifesitenews.com News Source
EXCERPT:
A draft bill by the German government would introduce a law preventing people with “extremist” views from buying a house.
The draft bill from the Ministry of Construction, led by Verena Hubertz from the Social Democrats (SPD), would give municipalities the right of first refusal if a potential buyer of property has “anti-constitutional aspirations.”
German news outlet NIUS reports that individuals whose views are deemed dangerous by the Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution (BfV, Germany’s domestic intelligence agency) can be prevented from purchasing homes.
According to the draft, the building law change is intended to contribute to “strengthening the focus on the common good” and “preventing social ills.” To this end, the government says it aims to prevent the “spatial impact of organized crime as well as right-wing, left-wing, or religiously motivated extremist activities.”
Russia and China on Tuesday vetoed a U.N. Security Council resolution aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz that had been repeatedly watered down in hopes those two countries would abstain.
The vote — 11-2, with two abstentions from Pakistan and Colombia— took place just hours after U.S. President Donald Trump issued an unprecedented threat that a “whole civilization will die tonight” if Iran does not open the strategic waterway and make a deal before his 8 p.m. Eastern deadline. One-fifth of the world’s oil typically passes through the strait, and Iran’s stranglehold during the war has sent energy prices soaring.
Liberals around Europe are raising their glasses in celebration after seeing the results of the election in Hungary on Sunday.
With nearly 99% of the votes counted, Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party had secured only 55 of the 199 seats in the Hungarian parliament, bringing Orbán’s 16-year stint as prime minister to an end despite an endorsement last week from President Donald Trump.

Russian troops continue special military operation after Easter truce ends — top brass – Russian Politics & Diplomacy – tass.com EXCERPT:
MOSCOW, April 13. /TASS/. Russian troops continued their special military operation in Ukraine after the Orthodox Easter truce ended, Russia’s Defense Ministry reported on Monday.
“With the end of the truce, the Russian Armed Forces continued the special military operation,” the ministry said in a statement.
All the Russian battlegroups strictly observed the ceasefire and stayed in their previously held positions, the ministry reported.
“In compliance with an order by the supreme commander-in-chief of the Russian Armed Forces, all the battlegroups in the special military operation area strictly observed the ceasefire from 4:00 p.m. on April 11 to the end of April 12 and stayed in their previously held positions,” the ministry said.
Hungarian leader of right-wing party Our Homeland congratulates Meta on opposition win– rmx.news News Source
EXCERPT:
Hungary will face major blows to its democracy and suffer greatly at the hands of globalists after the victory of the opposition Tisza party in Hungary’s national elections, said the Our Homeland party (Mi Hazánk) leader, László Toroczkai.
“Since we already have experience with a government backed by the same circles — after all, Gordon Bajnai also sat there as an invited guest at the Bilderberg Group’s meetings — we know what to expect. The deterioration of the state of democracy, the establishment of a liberal-globalist dictatorship,” said Toroczkai.
Toroczkai’s party is considered even farther to the right than Viktor Orbán’s Fidesz party, with his party promoting a stricter immigration line, blaming Orbán for an increase in legal immigration in recent years.
Hungary’s strongman Viktor Orban has lost reelection in stunning fashion, an absolute electoral wipeout that presages what his MAGA allies in the U.S. will be facing this November.
The brand-new opposition Tisza party won around 53% of the vote, to just 37% for Orban’s Fidesz. Tisza is projected to secure around 138 seats in the 199-seat parliament, comfortably above the 133 needed for a supermajority, giving it the power to rewrite Hungary’s constitution and begin dismantling the autocratic system Orban spent 16 years building. Fidesz currently holds 135 seats.
Hungarian voters on Sunday ousted long-serving Prime Minister Viktor Orbán after 16 years in power, rejecting the authoritarian policies and global far-right movement that he embodied in favour of a pro-European challenger in a bombshell election result with global repercussions.
It was a stunning blow for Orbán – a close ally of both US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin – who quickly conceded defeat after what he called a “painful” election result. US Vice President JD Vance had made a visit to Hungary just days earlier, meant to help push Orbán over the finish line.
LONDON — London police arrested more than 200 people on Saturday during a protest against a ban on the group Palestine Action that the government has labeled a terrorist organization.
Metropolitan Police said they had detained 212 protesters between the ages of 27 and 82 for supporting the group.
Britain’s High Court ruled in February that the government’s decision to outlaw the protest group as a terrorist organization was unlawful, but it kept the ban in place while the government appeals.
“ONE-WAY STREET” ENDS: Marco Rubio MOVES TO AX 80% OF EUROPE BASES – gellerreport.com
As of April 2026, Marco Rubio is weighing a dramatic overhaul of the American military footprint in Europe—reviewing plans to shutter as much as 80% of U.S. bases after key NATO allies, including Spain and France, refused to grant access to bases and airspace during the Iran conflict. Framed under an “America First” doctrine, Rubio is openly questioning why the U.S. should continue spending roughly $60 billion annually to defend Europe if those same allies won’t back American operations when it matters—calling the current arrangement a “one-way street.” The proposal signals a potential strategic pivot away from the long-standing U.S. security umbrella over Europe, igniting debate between critics who warn of abandoning NATO commitments and supporters who argue it’s a long-overdue reckoning with allies seen as unwilling to carry their share of the burden.
Trump: “NATO nations have done absolutely nothing to help with the lunatic nation, now militarily decimated, of Iran.
The U.S.A. needs nothing from NATO, but ‘NEVER FORGET’ this very important point in time!”
Trump: NATO is a paper tiger now… it all began with Greenland, we want Greenland. They don’t want to give it to us. And I said, bye bye. pic.twitter.com/P8WUibHNKL

As of April 2026, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is reviewing plans to close up to 80% of U.S. military bases in Europe. This potential, significant reduction follows tensions where NATO allies, including Spain and France, refused to allow the U.S. to use military bases and airspace for operations during the Iran conflict.
«Die Nato ist ein Papiertiger»: Trump kritisiert Deutschland und Nato-Bündnispartner https://t.co/d4n9DVKW5Q
The Conflict: Rubio, acting on an “America First” directive, stated the U.S. must “reexamine” its relationship with NATO allies after they denied support during the crisis.
“One-Way Street”: Rubio questioned the utility of funding and staffing bases for European security if those allies refuse to support U.S. security interests.
Proposed Shift: The proposal argues for reducing the $60 billion annual cost of protecting Europe, suggesting a pivot away from maintaining the large, existing footprint.
Allied Reactions: While some critics view this as a potential abandonment of NATO commitments, proponents argue it is a necessary reaction to allies “freeloading”.
This reexamination focuses on whether Europe is upholding its end of the security arrangement.

Germany’s fiscal problems are no longer confined to Berlin — they are now most visible in the country’s towns and cities, where local governments have recorded their worst deficit since reunification.
According to a DeStatis press release on Tuesday, municipal finances deteriorated sharply in 2025, with the deficit climbing to €31.9 billion, up from €24.8 billion the previous year. While revenues rose to €391.4 billion, an increase of 4.1 percent, spending grew even faster to €423.3 billion, widening the gap between income and expenditure to unprecedented levels.
Brussels would rather “paralyze” the member state or stage a coup than allow Viktor Orban to stay in power, Karin Kneissl has told RT
The US and EU are engaged in a political “proxy war” in Hungary, with Washington and Brussels backing rival sides ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections, according to former Austrian Foreign Minister Karin Kneissl.
Kneissl made the remarks in an interview with RT as US Vice President J.D. Vance visited Budapest on Tuesday in a show of support for Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are set to meet with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte at the White House Wednesday, following the announcement of a two-week ceasefire with Iran.
“We are also aware of reports that Ms. Castillo expressed hesitancy to undergo euthanasia in her final hours, but that these indications were ignored.”
The Trump administration is set to investigate the euthanasia death of 25-year-old Noelia Castillo, who was a sexual-assault survivor. After she was placed in a group home as a teenager she was gang raped by African migrants, leading her to try to take her own life by jumping from a building. She ended up paralyzed and eventually sought suicide. Her family tried to stop her and when that failed they took legal action.
The State Department directed the US Embassy in Madrid to probe how Spanish law enforcement handled repeated sexual attacks against Castillo before her death, according to a report from the New York Post citing a leaked diplomatic cable. “We are deeply concerned by allegations that Ms. Castillo was repeatedly sexually assaulted while under state care and that no perpetrators have been brought to justice,” the cable read.
“We are also aware of reports that Ms. Castillo expressed hesitancy to undergo euthanasia in her final hours, but that these indications were ignored,” the cable added. “This case raises serious concerns about the application of Spain’s euthanasia law, particularly in cases involving psychiatric conditions and non-terminal suffering.”
The US vice-president JD Vance has just repeatedly criticised allegedly unprecedented and “disgraceful” foreign interference in the Hungarian parliamentary election, while effectively strongly endorsing Viktor Orbán to win the vote on Sunday in what critics will no doubt see as his very own interference with the country’s electoral process.

Without skipping a beat, he smoothly moved from lambasting European “bureaucrats” for “one of the worst examples of foreign election interference” he has ever seen (14:09) and accusing them of trying to “destroy the economy of Hungary” to saying he is “here to help him in this election campaign” and that and he was expecting him to win the vote on Sunday (14:26).
Lavishing praise on the embattled prime minister, he argued that he sees in Orbán someone who “ferociously advocated” for his country, “stands up for the values of western civilisation” (14:04), and is generally right on all sorts of things from energy (14:01) to Ukraine (14:05, 14:15).
In case you were still wondering why the Democrats were so militant about funding Ukraine and why Democrats and RINOs are now targeting Orban.
Watch Hungary’s prime minister, Viktor Orbán, lay out explosive charges that Ukrainian funds were funneled through Europe to influence U.S. elections and benefit Democrats. This major scandal has serious legal and national security implications, raising urgent questions about foreign money, campaign integrity, and the handling of U.S. taxpayer funds tied to the Ukraine war.

According to Zelenskyy, Kyiv has information that Moscow shared data on “some 50–53 facilities in total,” adding that these are civilian infrastructure sites with no military significance.
“It resembles the lives of Ukrainians under Russian attacks, when they target our energy grid or water supply systems,” Zelenskyy said.
“Of course, all the experience Russia has obtained during the war against Ukraine is being shared with Iran. This was the case with Shaheds, the same drones the Russians have, only used under a different name and upgraded to newer generations.”
CAIRO — Ukrainian forces are operating in western Libya under a covert deal endorsed by the West, and they used the Northern African country’s territory to strike a Russian tanker in the Mediterranean last month, two Libyan officials said Tuesday.
The Russian-flagged Arctic Metagaz, carrying 61,000 tons of liquefied natural gas, was badly damaged in a suspected sea drone attack near Maltese waters early in March. It has since drifted off Libya. All 30 crew members were rescued and put on another vessel heading to the Libyan city of Benghazi, the Libyan Maritime Authority said.
French police caught two people trying to light a bomb at Bank of America offices in Paris on Saturday.
One was arrested, the other fled. Two alleged accomplices were detained Sunday.
Interior Minister Laurent Nunez said there is “significant suspicion” of Iran’s involvement via proxies, noting similar incidents targeting U.S.-linked sites in other European countries.

BANGKOK — Asian nations are increasingly competing for Russian crude oil as an energy crisis mounts amid the month-old war by the U.S. and Israel against Iran, which has choked off roughly a fifth of the world’s oil supply.
BELGRADE, Serbia — International observers at a local election in European Union candidate Serbia said Monday they had witnessed violence and irregularities during the vote.
“Yesterday, the delegation observed procedures inside polling stations often largely in line with provisions but was alarmed by the situation outside the premises,” the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe said in a statement.
“Congress observers witnessed acts of violence … and in all but one of the municipalities visited, saw heated arguments and the threatening presence of large groups of people, often unidentified and sometimes masked,” they added.
Energy Minister Sergei Tsivilev confirmed Wednesday that Russia is sending “humanitarian” shipments of oil to Cuba after ship-tracking data earlier appeared to show that at least one tanker had unloaded Russian crude in Havana.
Cuba, which imports around 60% of its energy supply, previously relied on oil sold by Venezuela. Those shipments ended after then-President Nicolás Maduro was captured in a U.S. military raid.
Iran’s regime is publicly rejecting a U.S.-backed ceasefire proposal, escalating tensions even as President Donald Trump signals a willingness to negotiate an end to the conflict.
State-run outlets in Tehran reported Wednesday that Iran “will not accept a ceasefire offer from the United States.”
The rejection underscores the regime’s refusal to de-escalate despite mounting international pressure.
Last May, NATO invited 10 Ukrainians to act as an opposing force during Hedgehog 2025, one of NATO’s largest exercises in the Baltics. The Ukrainians successfully simulated the destruction of 17 armored vehicles and conducted 30 strikes in half a day, effectively neutralizing two NATO battalions before dinner. One observing commander summed up the broader implication in three words: “We are finished.” Ominously, the exercise occurred without American forces.
The Western debate on Ukraine is sometimes framed as an act of generosity, with NATO propping up a beleaguered partner. This perspective is wrong and dangerously blind to a strategic asset for the alliance hiding in plain sight. Ukraine’s expertise has already proven vital, with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announcing that Ukrainian experts are deploying to the Middle East to assist in countering Iranian Shahed drones, offering the United States concrete solutions to an otherwise expensive problem. Four years ago, the West answered Ukraine’s call for military aid. Now, Ukraine is ready to answer back.
The Russian public is pushing back against the planned ban of a popular app created by two Russians, with even pro-Kremlin voices fearing it could backfire. In a rare public opposition to blocking Telegram, the country’s most popular messaging channel, Vladimir Putin has been warned that the proposed ban could have negative consequences at home and on the battlefield.
But authorities have increasingly portrayed Telegram as contributing to terrorism and criminal activity, restricting the app and targeting its founder. Similar grounds have already been used to restrict other messaging apps, including the February block on WhatsApp.
From April 1, Telegram should be blocked completely too. Instead, the Kremlin is steering users towards its new state-backed messaging app, MAX, which is feared to be used for surveillance. The “national messenger” is similar in functionality to Telegram, but it’s also integrated with Russia‘s government services portal and can serve as a digital ID.
Russia said Wednesday it was “deeply outraged” by a reported strike on the grounds of Iran’s Bushehr nuclear power plant, which it partially constructed and helps operate.
“We are extremely outraged by this reckless, irresponsible manifestation of a disastrous course,” the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement on its website.
A projectile landed inside the plant’s compound late Tuesday but caused no damage, Iran’s atomic energy organization said, accusing the United States and Israel of attacking the facility.
Berlin plans to use Ukraine’s experience to develop an advisory tool, Lieutenant General Christian Freuding has said
The German military is developing an artificial intelligence system to speed up battlefield decision-making by analyzing combat data, Lieutenant General Christian Freuding has said, adding that it will draw on Ukraine’s experience of fighting Russia.
The remarks by Freuding, the commander of the German land forces, come as the country is undertaking a major military buildup. Chancellor Friedrich Merz is seeking to make the German military “the strongest conventional army in Europe.” German officials have set 2029 as the deadline for the armed forces to be “war-ready,” citing the supposed Russian threat. Moscow has dismissed claims that it harbors hostile intentions as “nonsense” aimed at justifying increased military spending.
“I think it’s important that we get something up and running quickly,” Freuding told Reuters on Wednesday. He had previously overseen German arms supplies to Kiev before taking up his current position in October 2025. An advocate of close military cooperation between Berlin and Kiev, Freuding previously unveiled plans for the Ukrainian military to help train German troops for a possible conflict with Russia.
