A new report from the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform accuses the outgoing Washington D.C. police chief of falsifying crime statistics to make the city seem safer than it was.

Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Chief Pamela A. Smith, according to the Republican-led committee, “pressured and at times directed commanders to manipulate crime data in order to maintain the appearance of low crime in the nation’s capital.”

The Oversight Committee explained on X that DC Chief Smith “pressured staff to manipulate crime data by miscategorizing publicly reportable crimes into lower categories.”

The Committee added that these falsified crime stats put “Americans at risk by creating an illusion of a safe city.”

Smith was sworn in as MPD police chief—the first black female to serve in that role—by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser (D) on July 17, 2023. She was previously the Chief Equity Officer, leading the department’s efforts on diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI).

Resigning Metropolitan Police Department Chief Pamela Smith deliberately manipulated Washington, D.C., crime data to appear lower, according to a new report.

The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform’s majority staff released an interim report on Sunday as part of its ongoing investigation into allegations that MPD leadership pressured commanders to alter crime stats. The committee launched the probe into the department in August.

‘Chief Smith should resign today.’

After interviewing seven acting MPD commanders and one suspended MPD commander, the committee found that the department’s leadership placed “a higher priority on suppressing public reporting of crime statistics than stopping crime itself.”

Federal agents were forced to deploy pepper spray and other crowd control measures after a sizable mob of Somali and far-left rioters surrounded them as they conducted deportation operations in Minneapolis on Tuesday.

Immigration agents have increased their presence in the state of Minnesota after President Donald Trump moved to terminate temporary protected status provisions for millions of Somalis. Minnesota currently has the largest Somali population in the United States.

Tuesday’s disturbance occurred when a group of far-left agitators blocked federal agents with their vehicles as they checked identification in a heavily Somali neighborhood.  This tactic has been commonly used by left-wing groups seeking to block deportation efforts in the nation’s largest cities.

“Thank God so many people showed up there,” said City Council Member Jamal Osman, a Somali American who represents the neighborhood and witnessed the disturbance. “[The agents] couldn’t get out of there because people showed up with their cars and whistles.”

The Senate Armed Services Committee holds a hearing on President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard to high-crime Democrat-run cities on Thursday, December 11.

Trump deployed the National Guard to Washington, DC, along with federalizing the capital’s police to crack down on rampant crime. The president followed this up with deployments to other Democrat-run cities like Los Angeles and Chicago in response to civil unrest against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations.

In November two members of the National Guard were shot by an Afghan national brought to the U.S. by the Biden administration following the disastrous withdrawal of American troops from the country.

US District Judge Jia Cobb temporarily suspended the deployment in a ruling on Thursday, responding to a lawsuit filed by city officials who said Trump had usurped policing powers and was using the military for domestic law enforcement.

A federal judge who was nominated to the bench by President Donald Trump has permanently blocked the 47th president from deploying the National Guard to Portland, Oregon, in response to demonstrations against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in that city.

U.S. District Judge Karin J. Immergut, who issued a preliminary injunction last month preventing the president’s troop order, ruled Friday that Trump overstepped his authority by federalizing Oregon’s National Guard soldiers.

President Trump nominated Judge Immergut to the federal bench in 2018 during his first term.

“All proper paperwork for this standard donation is on file,” Bowser’s office said.

Washington, DC Mayor Muriel Bowser is reportedly the target of a federal corruption investigation over a trip she took with members of staff that was paid for by Qatar.

People familiar with the matter told the New York Times that the inquiry is based on potential bribery or campaign finance law violations. The investigation has reportedly been underway for months, and is being handled by the US Attorney’s Office in Washington.

Bowser’s office said in a written statement, “This was a business trip. DC representatives regularly travel to promote Washington as a destination for investment and growth.” The office said that those efforts have brought business to the city. “All proper paperwork for this standard donation is on file.”

The probe began after a local news report in April 2025 regarding Bowser and four members of her staff traveling to Dubai in 2023 for a United Nations conference. The mayor’s office said when asked about the trip that it had been paid for by the DC Chamber of Commerce, however, the office later claimed that it had been covered by the US Conference of Mayors.

CHICAGO — President Donald Trump’s attempts to deploy the military in Democratic-led cities — over the objections of mayors and governors — has brought a head-spinning array of court challenges and overlapping rulings.

As the U.S. Supreme Court ponders whether to clear the way for the National Guard in Chicago, a federal appeals court is hearing arguments in California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s challenge to the deployment of troops in Los Angeles. Guard troops could also soon be on the ground in Portland, pending legal developments there.

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino has revealed the FBI has made 28,000 violent crime arrests this year, and the year is far from over. The past 3 or 4 years, Bongino claims, the FBI averaged around 16,000 violent crime arrests per year.

Bongino said, “It shows that when you get a president, an attorney general, a deputy attorney general and an FBI leadership team that lets the FBI do FBI work, instead of getting into other nonsense like in the past. Look what happens. Your cities get cleaner.”

FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino is touting the the number of violent criminals arrested so far this year by the FBI, noting that the 28,000 arrests are nearly double the yearly average under Biden.

Bongino told Fox News that, over the past 3 or 4 years, the FBI would average 15,000 to 16,000 arrests of violent criminals but noted that this year’s arrests are nearly double, saying, “We’ve made 28,000 violent crime arrests in 2025, and the year’s not even over.”

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals cleared the way Monday for President Donald Trump to mobilize the National Guard to protect federal buildings in Portland.

A three-judge panel ruled 2-1 to reverse a federal district court ruling that prevented Trump from deploying National Guard troops in the state. The ruling allows the deployment to continue while the case moves forward in the courts.

The majority of the panel agreed with the Trump administration that the threat from protesters to federal facilities could not be addressed by existing law enforcement.

President Donald Trump on Sunday deployed 300 California National Guard personnel to Portland, Oregon, a longtime hotbed of left-wing extremism where violent riots targeting federal buildings and facilities have persisted for months. The move comes after a federal judge in Oregon attempted to block the president from taking federal control of the Oregon national guard in order to deploy 200 troops.

The news was shared by an irate California Governor Gavin Newsom, who lost a court case earlier this year when California Attorney General Rob Bonta attempted to block the president from doing the same with the state’s national guard in order to quell several days of sustained unrest. The California deployment is ongoing at the discretion of War Secretary Pete Hegseth.

“After a federal court blocked his attempt to federalize the Oregon National Guard, Donald Trump is deploying 300 California National Guard personnel into Oregon. They are on their way there now,” Newsom announced in an X post.

The governor added that the state will be challenging the deployment in court, calling it “authoritarian.”

US District Judge Karin Immergut held an emergency hearing Sunday evening after President Trump circumvented her previous order halting troop deployment to Portland.

Last weekend, President Trump authorized troops to Portland, Oregon, and other Democrat-run cities to protect ICE agents from Antifa terrorists and other radical far-left groups.

“At the request of Secretary of Homeland Security, Kristi Noem, I am directing Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, to provide all necessary Troops to protect War ravaged Portland, and any of our ICE Facilities under siege from attack by Antifa, and other domestic terrorists. I am also authorizing Full Force, if necessary. Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump previously said on Truth Social.

Right on cue, Democrat-run Oregon sued the Trump Administration to stop the deployment of troops.

Judge Immergut, on Saturday, blocked President Trump’s National Guard deployment to Portland.

A conservative female reporter was violently attacked by an Antifa terrorist in Portland this week, while the worthless police refused to arrest the attacker.

Katie Daviscourt, a reporter for The Post Millennial and Human Events, was viciously attacked by a female Antifa terrorist on Tuesday evening.

The Antifa terrorist hit Katie Daviscourt in the face with a flag pole, leaving her with a nasty black eye. The Antifa terrorist attempted to escape while Katie Daviscourt chased her down. At this point, a Portland Police officer failed to detain the suspect.

Katie Daviscourt appeared on Fox News on Wednesday evening and told host Jesse Watters that Portland Police Chief Bob Day should resign in disgrace.

The police told Katie Daviscourt it was too dangerous to go in and make an arrest after Antifa terrorists took over a portion of the city. Portland Police Chief Bob Day downplayed the far-left violence during remarks to the press this week.

Conservative journalist and influencer Nick Sortor was arrested in Portland on Thursday night for what appears to be the great crime of being jumped by left-wing anti-ICE rioters. Sortor had been attending the “protest” for the last few days, documenting the anarchy.

Portland has been ground zero for Antifa violence stretching back years, with parts of the city being effectively safe zones for left-wing agitators. In recent weeks, President Donald Trump has stated his intent to deploy troops in defense of the city’s federal property, including the besieged ICE facility in question.

So what happened to Sortor? There’s still a bit of dot-connecting happening, but one video appears to show him being surrounded by left-wing rioters. Later, he can be seen being put in handcuffs.

There is a rhetorical battle raging here in this heavily Democratic city, known for its delicious coffee, plethora of fancy restaurants, bespoke doughnuts and also for its small faction of black-clad activists.

It started Saturday when President Trump suddenly announced that he was sending the National Guard to “war-ravaged” Portland — where a small group of demonstrators have been staging a monthslong protest at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement building south of downtown.

Oregon officials have pushed back forcefully, flooding their own social media with images of colorful cafe tables, sun-drenched farmers markets, rose gardens in full bloom and parks bursting with children, families and frolicking dogs. Officials would prefer the city be known for its Portlandia vibe, and are begging residents to stay peaceful and not give the Trump administration a protest spectacle.

In light of this, the DOJ requested that Judge Simon recuse himself from the case. And, on Thursday, he did just that.

“This hateful rhetoric is inspiring political violence in our country and assaults against our brave DHS law enforcement,” read a release issued on Wednesday from the Department of Homeland Security.

DHS Assistant Secretary for Public Affairs Tricia McLaughlin asked left-wing politicians, activists, organizations and groups to halt the inflammatory rhetoric “before someone else is killed.”

Gregory Bovino, the Border Patrol official who led U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement raids in California, on Tuesday announced he had arrived in Chicago, signaling ICE operations in the area are ramping up.

“Well, Chicago, we’ve arrived!” Bovino wrote in a social media post, accompanied by a video of Border Patrol agents in Chicago. “Operation At Large is here to continue the mission we started in Los Angeles — to make the city safer by targeting and arresting criminal illegal aliens.”

The escalated operation comes as Chicagoans are celebrating Mexican Independence Day.

Department of Homeland Security Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin wrote on social media that Chicago arrests on Tuesday included people arrested for violent assault, felony stalking or DUI. She did not provide any names.

Bovino, who is typically dressed in tactical gear, led the latest deportation effort in Los Angeles that led to more than 5,000 arrests. Tuesday’s enforcement is separate from the Department of Homeland Security’s “Operation Midway Blitz,” which was announced two weeks ago.

Replying to a social media post by Gov. JB Pritzker’s Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications Matt Hill, who criticized that ICE hasn’t called Pritzker but has “the time to create a TikTok video showing off beautiful Chicago scenery,” Bovino wrote, “Tik tok, tik tok, time is up!!”

Trump Administration Drafts Plan To Activate 1,000 National Guard Troops Pending Republican Governor’s Support, Report Claims– wltreport.com

The Trump administration has drafted a plan to activate 1,000 National Guard troops in Louisiana, reports claim.

The troops would reportedly be sent to Baton Rouge and New Orleans.

According to reports, National Guard troops would support law enforcement operations in the state’s urban centers.

WBRZ explained:

The plan, confirmed by the Pentagon, would have National Guard troops support law enforcement in Louisiana’s “urban centers,” but hinges on a formal request from Gov. Jeff Landry, according to the report. Landry has shown support for troop deployment in Louisiana in the past, but he has not yet made an official request.

According to The Washington Post, troops would help with drug enforcement and communication support in the current plan.

The report comes after Trump has made more than one mention of sending troops to New Orleans in the last several days.
