U.S. President Joe Biden on Thursday seemingly backed a new election in Venezuela, after Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva also floated the idea, despite rebuffs from Venezuela’s ruling party and its opposition which both claim victory in the July 28 contest.
Biden spoke to reporters in the wake of Lula’s suggestion that Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro could call a new contest involving international observers as a potential solution for the political crisis in the country. The U.S. has rejected Madura’s victory claim.
Asked if he supports a new election in Venezuela, Biden said “I do”.
A National Security Council spokesperson later said Biden was “speaking to the absurdity of Maduro and his representatives not coming clean about the July 28 elections,” without fully walking back Biden’s comment.
The spokesperson added it is “abundantly clear” that opposition candidate Edmundo Gonzalez won the election.
A U.S. official, speaking on background, said the U.S. position had not changed and the vast majority of countries in the region were asking Maduro to release the results and recognize the outcome of the election.

A federal judge denied Hunter Biden’s last-ditch attempt to stave on a looming trial on tax evasion charges stemming from his involvement in overseas business dealings that became the focus of a GOP investigation into involvement by his father, President Joe Biden.

ABC News reported that the decision by Los Angeles U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi all but ensures the case will go to trial early next month. In a seven-page conclusion, Scarsi wrote that defense attorneys’ arguments failed on factual and procedural grounds as well as Hunter’s past failed attempts to dismiss the case. “As he concedes in his notice of the motion, Mr. Biden plainly seeks reconsideration of issues already decided upon his February motion,” Scarsi wrote, concluding that “there is no valid basis for reconsideration of the court’s [prior] order denying Mr. Biden’s motion to dismiss the indictment.”

President Joe Biden invoked the “very fine people hoax” in his farewell address to the Democratic National Convention on Monday night, using a proven lie, once more, that has been repeatedly debunked, to his face.

The hoax claims that President Donald Trump referred to neo-Nazis who rioted in Charlottesville, Virginia, in August 2017 as “very fine people.” In fact, as the transcript of his remarks shows, Trump condemned them “totally.”

Biden used the hoax to launch his campaign in April 2019. Breitbart News confronted him directly in August 2019 with the evidence that Trump had, in fact, condemned the neo-Nazis. Biden denied it and repeated the hoax again.

Since then, the hoax has been debunked, repeatedly — including, most recently, by the left-leaning Snopes website.

Former President Trump debunked the hoax during his recent debate with Biden; former Vice President Mike Pence did so during his 2020 debate with then-Sen. Kamala Harris (D-CA); it was debunked on national television during Trump’s second impeachment trial.

Yet Biden has continued to repeat the lie, almost verbatim — although he has recently added the claim that the Ku Klux Klan paraded “without hoods” because they saw an ally in Trump.

As I wrote earlier, I don’t know what they were thinking when they made the schedule for the speakers on Day 1 of the DNC. It ran far too long, with folks like Sen. Raphael Warnock going on and on, and the program running very late. Joe Biden, who was supposed to be the featured speaker of the night, in what was supposed to be something of a wrap up of his 50 years in government was forty minutes late as a consequence. He was supposed to go on at 10:50 p.m. ET, he didn’t go on until about 11:30 p.m.

But the excuse the DNC released to explain why Biden was pushed to such a late time was just ridiculous.

The incident occurred just as Joe Biden took the stage, when a group of attendees unfurled a large banner reading “Stop Arming Israel” in protest of the regime’s continued support for the Israeli government.

Fake news WaPo reporter Dylan Wells reported that Democrat delegates tried to obstruct the protest banner using their “We Love Joe” signs before the DNC dimmed the lights above the protesters and had them removed from the convention.

Reporter from Zeteo News, Prem Thakker, also described the chaotic scene: “Audience members at the DNC in Chicago unfurl banner that says “Stop arming Israel.” After audience sees the banner, they begin chanting “We love Joe.” Man tries to rip banner away. Stadium lights over this spot then dimmed and banner was ripped away.”

The committee found Biden has used his office to sell influence to foreign powers for millions of dollars.

The report claimed, “Our impeachment inquiry shows conclusively that Joe Biden abused his public office for the private financial benefit of the Biden family and Biden business associates.”
