Pro-EU critic of governing Georgian Dream party says she won’t leave office next month as parliament elected fraudulently.

Georgian President Salome Zourabichvili said she will not leave office when her term ends because the parliament is “illegitimate”, while the prime minister warned against a “revolution” amid continuing pro-European Union protests.

Thousands of Georgians protested on Saturday for a third straight night after Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze announced the government will suspend talks on EU accession.

The goal to join the 27-member is now enshrined in Georgia’s constitution, but the prime minister – who has been building closer ties with Russia – suspended the talks for four years and accused Brussels of “blackmail”.

In an address on Saturday, Zourabichvili, a pro-EU critic of the Georgian Dream governing party, said parliament had no right to elect her successor when her term ends in December, and that she would stay in post.

U.S. intelligence officials warned American defense companies on Thursday to increase security precautions following several acts of sabotage in Europe that officials have blamed on Russia.

The public bulletin issued by the National Counterintelligence and Security Center advised companies involved in defense work — particularly those providing support to Ukraine in its war against Russia — to step up their defenses in the face of Russia’s escalating aggression toward Ukraine’s allies.

“Russia’s sabotage activities in Europe increase the risk to U.S. companies abroad and potentially at home,” the officials wrote in the warning. “Such sabotage operations can sow fear and doubt, damage important infrastructure, disrupt commerce, or cause injury and death.”

An unnamed South Korean “official” is telling the press the Russians are trading high-tech anti-air missile systems for North Korean troops that are now being used and prepared for war in Ukraine.

Russia May or May Not Have Launched a Non-Nuclear ICBM at Ukraine – RedState– redstate.com

A Russian ICBM may or may not have hit the Ukrainian city of Dnipro in the early hours of Thursday. If the claim bears out, it would mark the first use of an ICBM in warfare, albeit with conventional warheads. At this writing, there is no confirmation of damage or casualties caused by the attack.

The sole source for identifying the weapon as an ICBM is the Ukrainian military and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Ukrainians did not provide much detail on the strike, saying only that the missile had been launched from the Russian region of Astrakhan and was part of a volley aimed at Dnipro. The Russian Defense Ministry did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said Russia had attacked Ukraine with a new class of missile. “All the parameters — speed, altitude — match those of an intercontinental ballistic missile,” he said. “All expert evaluations are underway.”

As multiple embassies close, including the U.S. embassy, within Kyiv, Ukraine counters by claiming foreign countries are being spooked by a Russian psyop. They continue to up the long-range assault, deploying British long-range missiles in the latest attack. Poland appears to believe war might be inevitable as it ramps up its ammo production. The Biden admin hopes to leave Ukraine a $275 million package on the way out.

Ukrainian forces have attacked targets inside Russia with British-made Storm Shadow missiles for the first time, according to UK paper of record the Times of London.

British government sources confirmed to the Times that the Ukrainians have deployed Storm Shadow missiles, which have a range of around 250 km (155 miles), in an attack on the Kursk region of Russia, where Kyiv launched a surprise incursion over the summer.

The attack was first reported on by Russian Telegram channels, which shared images purporting to show missile fragments with the name ‘Storm Shadow’ stenciled on them.

The use of long-range British missiles against targets inside Russia comes after lame duck U.S. President Joe Biden reportedly approved the use of 190 mile range (300 km) American Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles for similar strikes over the weekend after months of refusals over concern of escalating the conflict.

Ukraine warns of Russian ‘psychological attacks’ after spooked embassies shutter- Washington Examiner– www.washingtonexaminer.com

The Ukrainian government is attributing reports of a pending attack on Kyiv to Russian psychological warfare after a slew of foreign embassies shuttered and warned civilians to take shelter.

Ukrainian officials are now dismissing these concerns, urging the public to remain vigilant but not give too much thought to what they believe is information warfare.

The Ukrainian Main Directorate of Intelligence said in a public announcement that messages propagated through online channels and social media about a “particularly massive” airstrike on urban areas are “fake.”

The directorate pointed out that the flurry of warnings, which originated from an unknown source, contained “grammatical errors” often seen in Russian psychological operations. It is asserted that the panic caused by the threats is part of a larger attempt by the Kremlin to destabilize Ukrainian cities.

After lame-duck President Joe Biden decided to dramatically change U.S. policy to suddenly allow Ukraine to use American-made long-range missiles to attack Russia, Ukraine allegedly attacked Russia soon after. In response, Russian President Vladimir Putin has formally lowered his nation’s standards for when nuclear strikes can be ordered.

In response to Russia’s nuclear deterrent policy, Germany’s foreign minister, Annalena Baerbock, stated “… Germany in particular made the mistake back then, especially politically, of allowing itself to be intimidated by this fear and, above all, not listening to its partners, especially our Eastern European partners, who made it clear at the time: We must not rely on promises from the Kremlin. We must invest in our own security and protection.”

Russia unleashed its largest wave of airstrikes on Ukraine in almost three months on Sunday, firing 120 missiles and 90 drones in a sweeping attack that killed at least seven people and caused “severe damage” to the power system, officials said.

Ukrainians have been bracing for weeks for an attack on the hobbled energy system, fearing crippling damage that would cause long blackouts as winter sets in and ramp up psychological pressure at a critical moment in the war launched by Russia in February 2022.

The strikes, which prompted emergency power cuts in numerous regions, came after this month’s U.S. presidential election victory of Donald Trump, whose pledge to end the war without saying how has raised the prospect of a looming push to hold negotiations.
