CBS News’ Major Garrett reported that the GOP gameplan going into the State of the Union was to, and I quote, “Make sure Americans after this speech had a sense that the opposition party was off the rails [and] crazy.” While Trump was doing that, the opposition party was counter-programming dressed as animals and chanting “F*ck ICE.” Why? Because the opposition party is super serious people who demand you take them super seriously.
Most observers predicted the recent Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruling striking down President Trump’s International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) tariffs; however, the decision raises new doubts and questions about trade with the United States for exporters from countries like South Korea. This explainer discusses what the recent ruling means for trade between South Korea and the United States and how South Korea may respond to relations with the U.S. in the coming days.
26-year-old Austin Tucker Martin somehow got onto President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate with a loaded shotgun and a can of gasoline. He was met by Secret Service who ordered him to put the shotgun, and the gas can down. He aimed the shotgun at the agents, who responded by shooting him dead immediately.
Martin appears to have been a former Trump supporter who allegedly went sour on Trump in response to his handling of the Epstein Files. He appears to have had mental conditions. A few days before the attempted assassination, he was reported missing by his family. He purchased the shotgun on his way to Mar-a-Lago from his North Carolina home.
ANOTHER ASSASSIN: Gunman Shot, Killed at Mar-A-Lago, Media Shrugs – gellerreport.com
Another intended attack on President Trump. U.S. Secret Service and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy shot and killed a man in his early 20s after he breached the inner perimeter at Mar a Lago, carrying a shotgun and gas can. When confronted, he pointed the shotgun at them, and was quickly neutralized by the officers.
Fox News: A man in his early 20s was shot and killed early Sunday after allegedly breaching the secure perimeter of President Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Florida, the U.S. Secret Service announced. The Secret Service said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. when the suspect made an “unauthorized entry” at the property. The individual was observed near the north gate carrying what appeared to be a shotgun and a fuel can. Agents and a deputy from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) confronted the man who was pronounced dead at the scene. (Fox News)

He drove 700 miles to attack the president’s home.
Another attempted attack targeting President Trump.
An armed man breaches the north gate at Mar-a-Lago carrying a shotgun and a fuel can. When security confronts him, he raises the weapon.
Let that sink in.
How many is this now? Fourth? Fifth? Sixth threat or attempt surrounding Trump?
And it barely breaks through the news cycle.
No breathless panels.
No primetime outrage specials.
No “threat to democracy” chyrons flashing across every network.
Now remember when a rodeo clown wore an Obama mask.
That was treated like a national emergency. Coast-to-coast condemnation. Media hysteria. The performer was banned for life.
A costume triggered moral panic.
An armed breach at a former president’s residence? Shrugs.
The double standard isn’t subtle anymore. It’s systemic. It’s ideological. And it’s dangerous.
Austin Tucker Martin, gunman shot dead by Secret Service at Mar-a-Lago
Daily Mail: An armed young man identified as Austin Tucker Martin was shot and killed on Sunday morning after entering President Donald Trump‘s Mar-a-Lago estate.
Martin, the 21-year-old North Carolina native, was killed at around 1.30am on Sunday at Trump’s resort in Palm Beach, Florida, after entering with a gas can and a shotgun, according to Anthony Guglielmi, a spokesperson for the US Secret Service.
Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw said that, after entering near the north gate of the resort, Martin was confronted by two Secret Service agents and a deputy with the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Department.
He pointed the shotgun at them, and was quickly neutralized by the officers.
The would-be shooter at Mar-a-Lago was shot dead by secret service while he was in a “firing position.”
Martin was reported missing by his family and was believed to have picked up the shotgun on his way down south. Guglielmi said that a box for the weapon was found inside Martin’s car, which his family identified as a 2013 silver Volkswagen Tiguan.
His family said on Facebook that Martin was last heard from on Saturday just before 8pm after he left his $1.1million home in Cameron, North Carolina, at around 1pm.
‘This is not like him at all,’ his devastated aunt wrote.
Martin lived with his parents at the secluded, countryside home – and the young man had a fascination with drawing golf courses in his spare time, an Instagram account linked to him showed.

President Donald Trump said Thursday that the United States will contribute $10 billion toward the Board of Peace.
Trump made his announcement during the board’s second official meeting, the first convening of the group in Washington, D.C.
“The United States is going to make a contribution of $10 billion to the Board of Peace,” said Trump. “We’ve had great support for that number and that number is a very small number when you look at that, compared to the cost of war. That’s two weeks of fighting.”
WASHINGTON — New whistleblower documents detail substantial cuts by the Trump administration to the training requirements for new immigration officers.
Among the cuts are the elimination of practical exams, use of force and legal training courses, and an overall reduction in training time, contrary to an official’s testimony to Congress earlier this month.
The documents, provided to Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) by whistleblowers from the Department of Homeland Security, were publicly revealed ahead of a forum Monday afternoon with congressional Democrats — the third in recent weeks probing what the members view as abusive and illegal tactics used by federal agents.
President Donald Trump’s new tariffs have come into effect today at a rate of 10%, after the US supreme court blocked many of his import taxes on Friday.
The president signed an executive order last Friday authorising the 10% tariffs just hours after the supreme court ruling. He later threatened to raise the rate to 15%, but did not officially do so by Tuesday 12.01am time in Washington, when the 10% levy came into effect.
However, Bloomberg is reporting that officials in the White House are working on a formal order that will increase the rate to 15%.
Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown is suing the Trump administration over its plan to convert a vacant warehouse into an immigration detention facility.
The federal lawsuit, filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland, alleges the Department of Homeland Security’s decision to establish such a facility in Washington County is unlawful under the Administrative Procedure Act and the National Environmental Policy Act.
Brown argued the federal government needed to conduct an environmental review concerning the land on which the 825,000-square-foot warehouse lies.
Authorities have identified the armed intruder shot and killed early Sunday after breaching the secure perimeter at Mar-a-Lago as 21-year-old Austin Tucker Martin of North Carolina, according to the Associated Press.
Martin had reportedly been listed as missing by his family just days before the incident. Investigators believe he traveled south and obtained the shotgun along the way. A box for the weapon was discovered inside his vehicle after the shooting.
“The man, who was in his early 20s and from North Carolina, had a gas can and a shotgun, according to Anthony Guglielmi, the spokesman. He had been reported missing by his family a few days ago, and investigators believe he headed south and picked up the shotgun along the way.”
Fox News broke the name of the shooter on air.

Harvard Law School professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz said Friday on Newsmax that President Donald Trump’s legal team made the “wrong argument” defending Trump’s tariff authority.
The Supreme Court ruled 6–3 Friday that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act does not authorize Trump to impose tariffs, holding that the statute’s phrase “regulate importation” does not include the distinct and extraordinary power to levy duties absent explicit congressional approval. Dershowitz appeared on “The Record with Greta Van Susteren.”
“I thought that the lawyers for Trump made the wrong argument to the Supreme Court, and I predicted they were going to lose based on their argument. Look, if you argue that it’s fundraising activity by Congress, of course you’re going to lose,” Dershowitz said. “This, the Article One of the Constitution, says that duties and taxes can be imposed only by Congress, and Congress can delegate that authority to the president.”
President Donald Trump announced Saturday an increase in the global tariff rate on imports from 10 percent to 15 percent. The change — which comes just a day after the administration was forced to restructure due to a controversial Supreme Court ruling — took effect immediately and applies to goods imported from most countries.
The announcement came one day after the U.S. Supreme Court issued a 6-3 ruling on in the consolidated cases Learning Resources, Inc. v. Trump and Trump v. V.O.S. Selections, Inc. The Court held that the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) does not authorize the president to impose tariffs.
China on Monday urged the United States to cancel unilateral tariffs announced by President Donald Trump after the US Supreme Court struck down many of his measures, ruling he lacked authority under a 1977 law. Trump responded by unveiling new global import duties of up to 15% under different powers.

The EU’s top executive body has urged US President Donald Trump not to impose new tariffs on the bloc’s goods and to clarify his position following the US Supreme Court ruling that struck down most of his earlier measures.
On Friday, the Supreme Court ruled that Trump had no authority to impose tariffs under the 1977 International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). Trump responded by signing an order imposing a 10% global tariff through a different law and later said he would raise it to 15%. He denounced the justices who ruled against him as “a disgrace to the nation.”
President Donald Trump is hosting the inaugural Board of Peace meeting on Thursday morning at 9 a.m.
The meeting will take place at the U.S. Institute of Peace in Washington, D.C., before Trump heads to Rome, Georgia, for a speech on affordability.
The agenda for the meeting will include a discussion of how to move forward with peace in Gaza, as Israel and several Palestinian allies, including Egypt and Turkey, will be in attendance. Several of the U.S.’s typical allies, such as Canada, have not yet signed onto the organization.
He told ABC that the USTR already had open investigations into Brazil and China, and expected to initiate investigations into areas such as industrial excess capacity, which would cover many countries in Asia, and unfair trading practices regarding rice, which is heavily subsidised by some countries.
“The purpose of this meeting with President Xi is not to fight about trade. It’s to maintain stability, make sure that the Chinese are holding up their end of our deal and buying American agricultural products and Boeings and other things,” Greer said. “I don’t see this really affecting that meeting.”
U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration said Tuesday that Japan will finance the production of synthetic diamonds and two energy projects worth about $36 billion as the initial tranche of investments under a deal reached last year following months of tariff negotiations.
Trump’s announcement that the three projects had been selected, as part of a $550 billion package that Japan committed to in exchange for his administration reducing tariffs on Japanese cars and other goods, was confirmed hours later by Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.
“These projects are so large, and could not be done without one very special word, TARIFFS,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform. “America is building again. America is producing again. And America is WINNING again.”
DONALD Trump has slammed the UK Chagos Islands deal as “a big mistake”.
He called the 100-year lease agreed by PM Sir Keir Starmer “tenuous, at best” and claimed that the US could need Diego Garcia to hit back at Iran if a nuclear deal is not agreed.
The Vatican will not join President Donald Trump’s newly formed Board of Peace, its top diplomatic official said Tuesday, signaling reluctance from the Holy See to take part in the post-war initiative.
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said the Holy See “will not participate in the Board of Peace because of its particular nature, which is evidently not that of other States,” the Vatican’s official news outlet reported.
An immigration judge in the United States has ruled against an attempt under President Donald Trump to deport Mohsen Mahdawi, a Columbia University student arrested last year for his protests against Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
The decision, issued on February 13, became public as part of court filings on Tuesday from Mahdawi’s lawyers.
The Vatican has rejected an invitation to participate in President Donald Trump’s “Board of Peace,” which was recently formed to rebuild war-ravaged Gaza.
The Holy See’s top diplomatic official confirmed the rejection on Tuesday.
The refusal to join the international effort signals hesitation from the Catholic Church’s leadership toward the post-war initiative.
Vatican Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin said the Holy See “will not participate in the Board of Peace because of its particular nature, which is evidently not that of other States,” according to the Vatican’s official news outlet.
U.S. President Donald Trump said Sunday that members of his newly created Board of Peace have pledged $5 billion toward rebuilding war-ravaged Gaza and will commit thousands of personnel to international stabilization and police forces for the territory.
The pledges will be formally announced when board members gather in Washington on Thursday for their first meeting, he said.
“The Board of Peace will prove to be the most consequential International Body in History, and it is my honor to serve as its Chairman,” Trump said in a social media posting announcing the pledges.
Border Czar Tom Homan announced, “With that, and success that has been made arresting public safety threats and other priorities since this surge operation began, as well as the unprecedented levels of coordination we have obtained from state officials and local law enforcement, I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude. A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue through the next week.”
“I’m very pleased to report that this surge operation and our work here with state and local officials to improve coordination and achieve mutual goals, as well as our efforts to address issues of concern here on the ground, have yielded the successful results we… came here for… Overall, we made a lot of progress through extensive engagement, meeting with them and other key stakeholders, and it is expected that those engagements and discussions will continue, going forward, to enhance exchange of information and more coordination.”
He also announced the rescue of more than 3,000 lost immigrant children during the course of the operation, which was marred from day one by an alleged DNC-foreign-funded insurrectionist operation intended to interfere with the lawful execution of a Presidential order.
Homan Ends ICE Surge in Minnesota. Here’s Why It’s a Victory for Trump. – PJ Media
Border Czar Tom Homan made a huge announcement in Minneapolis on Thursday morning: The federal immigration surge in Minnesota is over.
“With that, and success that has been made arresting public safety threats and other priorities since this surge operation began, as well as the unprecedented levels of coordination we have obtained from state officials and local law enforcement, I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred, that this surge operation conclude,” Homan said. “A significant drawdown has already been underway this week and will continue through the next week.”
A recent Axios’ headline suggests that crime fell at historic levels in major U.S. cities “despite” Trump’s “crackdown,” not because of it. The headline was designed to protect the criminal press’ narrative that ICE agents are unconstitutional paramilitary Nazis destroying the nation.
To protect that libelous narrative, Americans are being gaslit to believe that somehow ICE agents are still sources of violence, not preventers of it. The readers reacted so overwhelmingly that even the criminal terror outfit Axios had to retreat from its mask-off moment. This is our first documented incident of the Insurrectionist press being brought to heel by its own readership.
News Outlet Forced To Delete Anti-Trump Headline After Furious Backlash – trendingpoliticsnews.com
Axios was forced to delete a social media post after readers erupted over a headline suggesting violent crime fell “despite” President Trump’s crackdown rhetoric, even as new data showed crime dropping sharply across major U.S. cities.
The outlet’s framing triggered swift backlash online, where critics accused Axios of downplaying the possibility that tougher enforcement and rhetoric may have contributed to the decline.
President Trump has spent months hammering Democratic-led cities over lawlessness while defending aggressive federal intervention.
“Chicago is a hellhole right now. Baltimore is a hellhole right now,” Trump said in September. “We have the right to [call in the National Guard] because I have an obligation to protect this country.”
