On Nov. 19, German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius stated that the European Union plans to use 1.4 billion euros from frozen Russian assets for military purchases for Ukraine. He confirmed that all military supplies would be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024. Pistorius also said that in early 2025, Berlin would organize additional military deliveries to Kyiv worth 1.9 billion euros.
On Dec. 2, Chancellor Scholz, who made an unannounced visit to Kyiv, announced the preparation of yet another military aid package from Berlin for Kyiv, worth 650 million euros.
On the same day, the German Ministry of Defense revealed that the package would include IRIS-T air defense systems, Leopard 1 tanks, and strike drones.
