In a joint statement with FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino, Patel declared “Based on our continued review and production of FBI documents related to the CCP’s plot to interfere in the 2020 U.S. Presidential election, previous FBI leadership chose to play politics and withhold key information from the American people – exposing the weaponization of law enforcement for political purposes during the height of the 2020 election season.”

FBI Director Kash Patel has produced evidence that he claims will prove that Christopher Wray, the former FBI director who later fell out of favor with President Donald Trump, failed to complete a thorough investigation of potential fraud in the 2020 election.
According to Patel, Wray, who was first appointed by Trump despite initial concerns, shut down an investigation into alleged Chinese interference in the 2020 election. Evidence of the allegation was handed over to Congress on Wednesday that proves Wray lied about the scope of the investigation, Patel told the Daily Mail.
The FBI field office in Albany, New York, “recalled” a previous report contradicting Wray’s testimony to Congress that China was not conducting an operation to undermine confidence in the election that year. Patel explained that the Internal Intelligence Report (IIR) was published and then removed from circulation without any notice.
He claims that senior officials in the FBI shut down the investigation into agents within the Chinese Communist Party in order to shield Wray from fallout, sources told the outlet.
Some were even told to pretend as if the report didn’t exist, they added.
