Jews were the victims in roughly 70% of all hate crimes recorded in New York City last month, according to new NYPD data released Monday, underscoring the continued surge in antisemitic attacks across the nation’s largest city.
Of the 33 confirmed hate crimes reported citywide in July, 23 targeted Jewish victims, marking an increase of more than 50% from the 15 antisemitic incidents recorded during the same month last year.
The latest figures continue a years-long trend in which Jews have been targeted more frequently than every other protected group combined.
