Disgraced former Rep. Eric Swalwell (D-CA) was met by FBI agents at San Francisco International Airport over the weekend, where federal authorities executed a search warrant and seized his cellphone and other electronic devices as part of an ongoing criminal investigation.
Sources familiar with the matter told the New York Post that agents surprised Swalwell and served him with the warrant shortly after he arrived at the airport on Saturday.
Federal investigators also executed search warrants at Swalwell’s Washington, D.C., residence, where additional electronic devices were seized.
Probe Centers on Sexual Misconduct Allegations
According to multiple sources, the searches are connected to an ongoing Justice Department criminal investigation stemming from allegations of sexual misconduct, including rape.
