Just one major leftist organization highlights the alleged ways that USAID has funded the dramatic spreading of “wokeness” into American’s everyday lives. One organization, The Organized Crime Corruption and Reporting Project, was funded by both USAID and George Soros’ Open Society Foundation. This organization has sued republicans in office and produced a report that led to President Donald Trump’s first impeachment.

… USAID and Open Society Foundations jointly funded the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project—an organization that attacked conservatives for criticizing Soros and that published the report that sparked the first Trump impeachment. USAID’s connections to the project raise uncomfortable questions about whether the agency was trying to oust Trump.

The Organized Crime Corruption and Reporting Project also attacked Rep. Chris Smith, R-N.J.; Sen. Mike Lee, R-Utah; and Mike Gonzalez, a senior fellow at the Davis Institute for National Security and Foreign Policy at The Heritage Foundation. These conservatives made the mistake of noticing that the U.S. Embassy to Macedonia had selected Soros’ Open Society Foundations as the main implementer for USAID projects in the Eastern European country.

According to Rep. Scott Perry, R-Pa., USAID awarded a $2.54 million contract to Open Society for training in “civic activism,” “mobilization,” and “civic engagement” in Macedonia in February 2017.

The East West Management Institute—which has long listed Open Society Foundations as a donor and implementing partner and which received $31.2 million from USAID in the last full fiscal year ending on Sept. 30—launched court changes in Albania that critics allege resulted in the prosecution of Albanian opposition leader Sali Berisha, silencing the opponent of the country’s socialist prime minister.

As for its role in the Woketopus, Open Society Foundations or its partners, the Open Society Policy Center, the Open Society Institute, or the Foundation to Promote Open Society have funded:

  • the American Civil Liberties Union (which pushed open borders in the Biden administration)
  • the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and the Southern Poverty Law Center (which pushed the weaponization of federal law enforcement agencies against conservatives)
  • the Human Rights Campaign (which pushed gender ideology)
  • the Sierra Club (which pushed climate alarmism)

The Tides Foundation

USAID has awarded more than $27 million in grants to the Tides Center, which forms part of the Left’s dark money network I expose in “The Woketopus” along with its sister groups the Tides Foundation and Tides Advocacy.

USAID awarded the Tides Center four grants: a $24.7 million grant in 2016, of which $20 million has been spent; a $1.5 million grant in 2016, of which $147,000 has been spent; a $700,000 grant in 2014 that appears not to have been fulfilled; and another $150,000 grant that appears not to have been fulfilled.

The District Judges now routinely shutting down President Donald Trump’s executive actions come from a class of judges that is 60 percent Democrat, and much of that is thanks to a floury of last-minute appointments by President Joe Biden.

These appointments could have been reduced significantly had republicans done more to slow down the appointment process.

Biden’s focus on confirming judges reshaped courts as Democrats challenge Trump agenda – USA TODAY

Before Democrats surrendered control of Congress and the White House to Republicans in January, they celebrated the fact that Joe Biden had put more judges on the federal bench than any recent president in a single term.

“Judges shape our lives,” Biden said on social media in December, touting the confirmation of his 235th judicial nominee and what he called “the legacy I’ll leave with the men and women I’ve appointed.”

That legacy has become even more important for Democrats now that the courts are their best chance of thwarting President Donald Trump’s efforts to significantly downsize and reshape the federal government in ways that are testing his legal authority to do so.

Nearly six out of 10 full-time federal district judges – the first judicial layer to consider the growing number of lawsuits against Trump’s actions – have now been appointed by Democratic presidents, according to the Brookings Institution. At the start of Biden’s presidency, the appointments were nearly evenly divided after Trump picked almost as many judges as Biden later got confirmed.

At the next level of judicial scrutiny – the appeals courts – the number of full-time judges appointed by Democratic presidents has pulled even with those appointed by Republicans.

But while Biden got to fill one Supreme Court vacancy, his choice – Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson – did not change the ideological makeup of the court as she replaced Justice Stephen Breyer, who had been appointed by President Bill Clinton, a Democrat.

China’s progress in quantum computing and communications could undermine encryption standards and accelerate the global spread of data-driven surveillance, according to a report from the National Endowment for Democracy (NED). The report, Data-Centric Authoritarianism: How China’s Development of Frontier Technologies Could Globalize Repression, warns that emerging technologies, including quantum, artificial intelligence (AI), and digital currencies, are solidifying Beijing’s tech-enabled governance model while influencing authoritarian regimes worldwide.

The analysts suggest that China’s quantum advances could shift the balance of cybersecurity, particularly through the potential to break conventional encryption and the export of quantum-secured communication systems. The implications of this extends beyond espionage and state surveillance to corporate data security, financial transactions, and democratic resilience in an era of accelerating technological competition.

Data Security Under Threat

China has dedicated substantial resources to quantum research, arguably outpacing U.S. government funding in key areas of quantum computing and cryptography. The NED report states that China’s investment in quantum technology is times greater than the U.S. planned government spending as of 2023. Researchers at China’s Hefei National Laboratory for Physical Sciences, alongside firms such as Origin Quantum and QuantumCTek, are leading efforts to build quantum processors and secure communication networks.

United States mediation in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine highlights Washington’s concern about the scarcity of rare earths, which have multiple applications in electronic and industrial materials and processes.

In the past five years, the market for critical minerals has doubled to 320 billion dollars and will likely double again by the end of the decade, according to a Goldman Sachs report.

Supply remains concentrated in China, which the same analysts estimate refines 85-90% of rare earths and produces 92% of rare earth magnets.

Enrique Feas, a researcher at the Real Instituto El Cano, told EFE that these materials are crucial for industrial production and that China has used its supply as a “warning” in the face of trade tensions.

A new Axios poll reveals American college students don’t support the cause that’s causing them to lose class time and even miss major events, including graduation ceremonies; That cause is the Palestinian cause in its war against Israel, the Gaza war.

The poll reveals only 13 percent of college students support the Palestinian cause, and only 11 percent rate it as a top issue in this year’s national, state, and local elections.

WASHINGTON A federal appeals court today protected a Catholic school’s freedom to hire schoolteachers who uphold its religious beliefs. In Billard v. Diocese of Charlotte, a former substitute teacher sued the school and diocese for not calling him back to work as a substitute teacher after he entered a same-sex union and posted about it on Facebook. Today, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals reaffirmed the diocese’s freedom to choose teachers who will uphold and help pass on the faith to the next generation.

The Diocese of Charlotte has operated Catholic schools across western North Carolina for more than 50 years. Its 20 schools provide a top-notch education that also helps students grow in the Catholic faith, making the opportunity widely available to students of all backgrounds in part through generous financial aid. To ensure teachers are helping the diocese fulfill its mission, the diocese asks all of its teachers – Catholic and non-Catholic – to uphold the Catholic faith in word and deed.

“Many of our parents work long hours and make significant sacrifices so their children can attend our schools and receive a faithful Catholic education,” said Assistant Superintendent Allana Ramkissoon. “That’s because we inspire our students not only to harness the lessons and tools they need to thrive, but to cherish their faith as a precious gift from God.”

Survey comes after federal judge shouted down on campus

More than one third of Stanford University students say using physical violence to stop a speech is acceptable in at least some circumstances, according to a new report.

The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression conducted the survey after federal Judge Kyle Duncan’s speech on campus was shouted down last year.  The report evaluated students’ perspectives about free speech on campus and protests in the aftermath of the event.

FIRE Chief Research Advisor Sean Stevens told The College Fix the research found “considerably higher” support for canceling a speaker among Stanford students when compared to their peers nationwide.

The survey found 54 percent of Stanford students believed Duncan’s speech to the law school’s Federalist Society chapter should have been canceled by the administration. Additionally, 75 percent said shouting down a speaker to prevent them from speaking was acceptable in some circumstances.

In a speech on the House floor Monday, Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) accused the Biden regime of holding Former Trump adviser Peter Navarro as a political prisoner, denying him access to his lawyer and refusing to allow anyone to interview him.

Navarro, 74, began serving a four month prison sentence on March 19 after a jury found him guilty of failing to respond to congressional subpoenas for documents and testimony in the U.S. House’s partisan investigation into the events at the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.

Gaetz said that after five weeks of trying, he was directly informed by Colette S. Peters, Director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, that his request to interview Navarro would be denied because the prisoner is “too notorious” to be interviewed by a member of Congress.

“John Gotti was interviewed when he was in prison,” Gaetz noted. “The QAnon Shaman was interviewed in prison. Director Peters HERSELF brought NBC News THROUGH PRISONS to showcase the work of corrections that’s being done!” he exclaimed.
