She explained that privately owned stores that are in trouble will be able to apply for grants from the city, which is only going to make things worse, and far more expensive.

To recap, taxpayers pay for city-owned grocery stores and then, when those stores threaten privately owned stores, taxpayers will fund grants for those stores. The taxpayers just keep paying and paying, no matter what happens.

In an interview on Wednesday, Waverly Neer, a senior vice president of the NYC Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), which is overseeing Mamdani’s city-run grocery-store rollout, revealed that one proposal under consideration would let nearby grocers apply for grants to offset revenue lost to the city’s subsidized stores. In other words, New York City may use taxpayer money to undercut local businesses, then use more taxpayer money to compensate them for the damage they caused.

“I think ultimately the goals of these locations, not just here in East Harlem, but you know, any borough location is to be complementary to the neighborhood,” Neer said. “And really, you know, rising tides, right? We can we can all cooperate and work together in a meaningful way. ”

The Catechism of the Catholic Church says  certain “particularly grave sins” can incur the church’s most severe ecclesiastical penalty. Healey — a baptized Catholic — appears to be the ideal candidate after signing an atrocious abortion law.

On Aug. 10, Healey signed a bill that permits physicians to perform late-term abortions up until birth if, in their sole discretion, they deem killing a full-term child who can survive outside the womb “medically necessary.”

In a statement issued shortly before the act became law, Catholic bishops in Massachusetts called it “a radical measure which is gravely immoral.” Former Planned Parenthood director turned pro-life advocate and Catholic convert Abby Johnson called Healey’s act “barbaric.”

The Massachusetts government website claims the “new law ensures patients facing serious pregnancy complications can receive medically appropriate care from trusted providers.” This is simply not true because the new law doesn’t merely strengthen or clarify anything. As a lawyer, Healey certainly knows the language of the statute, with its total lack of restraints, opens the door wide for just about any reason to abort a child a doctor can come up with, including the mother’s feelings.

In June, the New York Post reported on a DOJ filing detailing how an individual identified only as “Employee-2” and described as someone “who would become Director of the SPLC’s Intelligence Project” maintained a “romantic relationship” with an informant identified as F-9 who was embedded in the neo-Nazi group National Alliance. It determined Employee-2 was none other than Beirich, who had authored a 2015 article on the National Alliance that matched the indictment’s allegation that Employee-2 wrote such an article based on material stolen from the group’s headquarters the year before. A different informant was allegedly paid off to take the blame for the theft.

This week, CNN reported that Beirich has been arrested in California and indicted on allegations she “oversaw payments of donors’ money” to the hate groups. “I believe she was part of the effort to open bank accounts in completely fictitious companies’ names and make payments to individuals for reasons that were not accurate as described,” said U.S. Attorney General Todd Blanche. “This is exactly what we said would happen in a case like this, which is that our investigators and the U.S. attorneys and the agents working the case will keep on working it even after the initial indictment.”
