After an initial meeting with the IAEA, Iran has signaled it won’t let inspectors back into its country. Internally, it appears it is bracing for the reiteration of sanctions and is developing a strategy to offset the sanctions, mainly by relying on countries like China and Russia to offset the loss.

Residents in the Aleutian Islands were advised to move out of the water and away from beaches, harbors, marines and inlets. Tsunamis can generate strong waves and currents, with waves that may last up to 45 minutes as it encroaches and recedes, the warning center stated. Coasts facing all directions are threatened because the waves can wrap around islands and headlands and into bays.

One of the strongest earthquakes ever recorded struck off the coast of Russia on Wednesday, injuring several people, according to local authorities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is facing the first major anti-government protests since the conflict in wider Ukraine began in 2022 after lawmakers passed a bill that will weaken two anti-corruption agencies.

The bill, which has reportedly been signed by Zelensky, has drawn significant domestic backlash from activists and lawmakers and could strain the beleaguered nation’s relationship with western allies.

The law significantly curtails the independence of Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) and the affiliated Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), according to a report from Axios. On Friday, a local newspaper in Allentown, PA, published a story making a salacious claim against the Trump administration. According to “family members,” ICE had arrested and roughed up their 82-year-old grandfather, a legal asylum holder, before deporting him to Guatemala.

The Morning Call claimed that Luis Leon was trying to replace his lost green card at a local USCIS office when the Chilean national was deported to the wrong country, where he ended up in a hospital recovering from pneumonia. Further, the family said Leon’s wife was kept in custody, in terrible conditions, for 10 hours before being released.

Multiple international news outlets, including The Guardian, ran with the story, giving it an air of credibility, to the point where AI engines like Google and Grok were claiming it was confirmed. But by Sunday, holes started to appear.

For example, why did the family first claim Leon had died in custody before changing the story to him being deported to Guatemala? Why could the Guatemalan authorities find no record of Leon being admitted into their country? Why was the granddaughter, who was the primary source for the press, claiming that Leon had “no plans” to return to the United States if he was illegally deported to a country he’s not even from?

Instead of pressing those inconsistencies, though, The Morning Call doubled down. According to their first update of the story, the granddaughter flew to Guatemala and relayed information from Leon himself, including a series of new or altered claims. Immigration lawyer Nicolette Glazer, who has been chronicling this story from the beginning, was immediately skeptical given her expertise.

Maxwell’s attorneys have appeared to ask President Donald Trump to intervene in her case. Her lawyers argued she should not have been prosecuted because of a plea deal Epstein struck in Florida in 2008 with then-U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida Alex Acosta, who later served in the first Trump administration.

Her attorney recently said of Trump, “He’s the ultimate deal-maker — and I’m sure he’d agree that when the United States gives its word, it should keep it. The Justice Department (DOJ) on Friday revealed it has charged a Pennsylvania man with threatening to harm and kill President Donald Trump, other U.S. officials, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents.

Shawn Monper of Butler, Pennsylvania, was charged with the threats earlier this week after he allegedly made threatening comments on social media, and purchased guns to allegedly carry out the threats.

Monper allegedly made the posts under his username of “Mr. Satan” where the user commented in February that people needed to kill Trump, Tesla billionaire Elon Musk, and other Trump administration agency heads. In one message, he allegedly stated that he would “assassinate him myself.”

“I want to applaud the outstanding and courageous investigative work of the FBI and the Butler Township Police Department, who thankfully identified and apprehended this individual before he could carry out his threats against President Trump’s life and the lives of other innocent Americans,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer is pushing back against a new Telegraph report which cites data from the Department for Education (DfE) that pointed out that a child, around the age of three or four, was suspended from a state school for “abuse against sexual orientation and gender identity.” It reportedly happened during the 2022-23 academic year but it’s just now becoming public.

“Obviously, the Prime Minister would not support those sorts of measures. But equally, I don’t know the specific incident,” a Downing Street spokesperson told the outlet Tuesday.

“I think the data around this is all pretty significantly analyzed, so I think it’s quite hard to provide any comment on any specific cases. Pupils and staff should never be subject to abuse, but any action taken to tackle behavior should also be proportionate,” they added.

According to the Telegraph, the name of the school and further details about the case were not disclosed.

However, additional data from the report revealed that 94 pupils at state primary schools were suspended or expelled for alleged transphobia and homophobia in 2022-23, including 10 children under the age of seven.

“Every once in a while, the extremes of gender ideology throw up a story that seems too crazy to believe, and a toddler being suspended from nursery for so-called transphobia or homophobia is one such example,” Helen Joyce, director of advocacy at Sex Matters, told the outlet.

Joyce pointed out this is not an isolated incident citing that, “13 four and five-year-olds were suspended or permanently excluded from school for the same reason.”

“It’s unforgivable for children’s vital early education to be so traumatically disrupted by school leaders who prioritize activists’ demands over [a child’s] wellbeing,” she added.

Notably, author J.K. Rowling, who has openly criticized trans ideology, also took issue with the suspension calling it “totalitarian insanity.”

A DfE spokesperson told the Telegraph that “all pupils and staff should feel safe and protected at school and should never face violence or abuse.”

But Rowling responded on X, “If you think small children should be punished for being able to recognise sex, you are a dangerous zealot who should be nowhere near kids or in any position of authority over them.”

As CBN News Digital reported, the British novelist said she would “happily” go to jail if the government in the United Kingdom made it illegal to refer to someone by anything other than their preferred pronouns.

“I’ll happily do two years if the alternative is compelled speech and forced denial of the reality and importance of sex,” she posted to X in 2023. “Bring on the court case, I say. It’ll be more fun than I’ve ever had on a red carpet.”

As CBN News has reported, on a separate front the U.K. has made strides to protect vulnerable young people who are confused about their gender identity. Last year, the use of puberty blockers on children was indefinitely banned after the landmark Cass Review found that there is “not enough evidence of safety and clinical effectiveness” for using the drugs long-term.

“Puberty blockers are powerful drugs with unproven benefits and significant risks, and that is why I recommended that they should only be prescribed following a multi-disciplinary assessment and within a research protocol,” said Dr. Hilary Cass, the author of the review and the nation’s top pediatrician.

Cass also pointed out that there is little research on the effects of the drugs due to an “increasingly toxic, ideological, and polarised public debate” about the topic.

“There are few other areas of healthcare where professionals are so afraid to openly discuss their views, where people are vilified on social media, and where name-calling echoes the worst bullying behaviour,” she said. “This must stop.”

White House officials are considering using drones to target cartel leaders in Mexico according to an NBC report citing “anonymous sources.” The report suggests the White House is working in conjunction with Mexico to use U.S. supplied drones, expertise, and pilots to eliminate cartel leaders.

The action shows securing the border isn’t just about shutting down illegal immigrant flow (which is once again down to record lows), but also striking at the heart of destabilizing border power, the drug cartels.

DNC Violence Spreads Across America

The DNC-CCP leadership, both in government and in media, have been using incendiary language targeting Americans, and that language has led to violent fruit, protests in multiple U.S. cities called “Hands Off,” all of which had multiple signs calling for violence against, essentially, Americans. It also led to the firebombing of a New Mexico GOP office.

A study from the Network Contagion Research Institute reveals more than half of left-of-center identifying “Americans” support assassinating Donald Trump, among other violent political takes. A Democrat judge in Boston had to get a strong warning from a U.S. attorney for threatening to hold ICE in contempt for doing their jobs, arresting illegals, illegals this judge wanted to protect.

A fire broke out early Sunday morning at the entrance of a Republican Party office in New Mexico, and party officials are calling it arson.

Firefighters from Albuquerque Fire Rescue and Bernalillo County Fire Rescue responded to the scene on San Francisco Dr. NE at 5:56 a.m. They found an active fire when they arrived but were able to put it out within five minutes. The front entryway suffered fire damage, and smoke spread throughout the building. No injuries were reported.

Graffiti was found near the fire that read “ICE = KKK.”

Amy Barela, chairwoman of the Republican Party of New Mexico, condemned the incident, saying, “We are deeply relieved that no one was harmed in what could have been a tragic and deadly attack. Those who resort to violence to undermine our state and nation must be held accountable, and our state leaders must reinforce through decisive action that these cowardly attacks will not be tolerated,” reports KOAT.

Barela also pointed out that the fire happened not long after Congresswoman Teresa Leger Fernandez held a town hall in Santa Fe on Saturday.

Leger Fernandez responded, saying, “Political violence of any sort is unacceptable, including this attack. The perpetrators must be held accountable. Every American should be able to freely and safely participate in our democracy.”

She also pushed back against the Republican Party’s reaction to the incident, saying, “At my town hall, I spoke about love in action – about the importance of showing respect and listening. It is a ludicrous leap to twist encouraging democratic participation, calling your Representatives and showing up at town halls into an insinuation of violence. The Republican Party’s accusations are themselves dangerous and the ultimate disrespect to our political process. They distract from the real work of bringing people together to build a better future.”

An investigation is ongoing.

South Korean Court Convicts, Removes President

After standing trial for allegedly staging an armed coup, South Korea’s President Yoon Suk Yeol has been convicted by the highest court. The President is now officially removed from office, though he has effectively been suspended since his arrest. By law, an election must take place within 60 days to replace him.

Acting Chief Justice Moon Hyung-bae wrote in the ruling, “[Yoon] committed a grave betrayal of the people’s trust. Sending armed soldiers to parliament in a bid to prevent lawmakers from voting down his decree violated the political neutrality of the armed forces.”

ED.NOTE: Yoon was pro-western. He was accusing the opposition party of being infiltrated by the Chinese Communist Party. The removal of Yeol is seen by some as a move by China to conquer South Korea from within. MI will continue to monitor this country, which should be considered at high risk of falling to authoritarianism from within.

Judge Ho wrote on his decision to dismiss with prejudice, that to allow DOJ to later refile charges “would create the unavoidable perception that the Mayor’s freedom depends on his ability to carry out the immigration enforcement priorities of the administration. Judge Dale Ho in a written order tossed the criminal case “with prejudice,” permanently blocking the DOJ from recharging Adams based on the same evidence. Federal prosecutors had sought a dismissal “without prejudice,” which would have allowed them to refile the case later.

Democrat James Malone has won a Pennsylvania state Senate seat in Lancaster County, a district that President Donald Trump carried handedly in the 2024 election.

Malone, the mayor of East Petersburg, defeated Republican Lancaster County Commissioner Josh Parsons in a closely contested race for Senate District 36. The special election was held to fill the remainder of former Republican state Senator Ryan Aument’s term. Aument resigned in December to become the state director for Sen. According to Decision Desk HQ, Malone led Parsons by about 500 votes as of Wednesday afternoon, with more than 95 percent of the vote counted. The district, which leans conservative, voted for Trump by 57 percent in 2024, and Aument was re-elected unopposed in 2022.

The Democratic victory marks another upset for the party in recent months. In January, Democrats flipped a heavily Republican state Senate district in Iowa and retained the Westchester County executive seat in New York, The Hill reported.

Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin called Malone’s win a “shockwave,” emphasizing that the district had a 23-point Republican voter registration advantage.

The European Union has plans to step up its defense spending in a big way — but some leaders want it to go even further as geopolitical tensions heighten.

The European Commission, the executive arm of the EU, earlier this month proposed measures that could bring about 800 billion euros ($867 billion) in new defense spending. These measures have yet to be approved by the various EU capitals, but have been enough to boost EU defense stocks since the plan was announced.

The current measures are “an important step in the right direction,” but “maybe we need to be more ambitious,” Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis told CNBC’s Silvia Amaro on the sidelines of a European Council summit on Thursday.

The ReArm Europe plan, which was announced earlier this month, includes 150 billion euros of loans that member states can access to invest in defense and security capabilities. These funds will, however, only be made available if at least 65% of the cost of production takes place in the EU, Norway or Ukraine.
