Federal agents killed a man after he fired at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas. The man had a rifle and was wearing tactical gear. One agent who returned fire was wounded but is in stable condition.

The shooter was identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda. His motive is unknown, but investigators believe it was a targeted attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a post on X that such attacks will not be tolerated.

“The Department [of Justice] has zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers or property and will bring the full weight of the law against those responsible,” Blanche said.

Border czar Tom Homan, who previously served as acting director of ICE, said on Fox News that attacks on ICE officers have increased since last year by 690% as of July 4. Homan cited Congress’s rhetoric as one reason for the increase in attacks.

“We have senators, we have Congresspeople, that compare ICE to the Nazis, compare ICE to racists, and it just continues. The public thinks, ‘well if a member of Congress can attack ICE, why can’t we,’” Homan said.

In 2024, from Jan. 21 to June 30, there were only 10 attacks on ICE agents, according to the Department of Homeland Security. In 2025, during that same period, ICE reported 79 attacks on agents. DHS said the increase is likely due to the speed at which the attacks occur, some of which go unaccounted for.

Border czar Tom Homan lashed out against Democrats for their rhetoric against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and President Donald Trump’s border policies.

During an interview on Fox News, Homan discussed the recent shooting of a police officer at an ICE facility in Texas. “Who were these suspects who were fired, who actually fired the shots and were later arrested? Who were they, Tom?” the host asked.

“Look, they’re your typical protester that go from protester to criminals,” Homan replied. “The attacks on ICE officers…is up nearly 700% now. We were talking 500% a couple of weeks ago, so it continues.”

Homan continued, explaining how the rhetoric coming from Democrats about ICE is inspiring some of the recent attacks on ICE agents. “The rhetoric against the men and women of ICE is skyrocketing, especially by members of Congress,” he said. “We have senators, we have Congress people that compare ICE to the Nazis, compare ICE to racists.”

The border czar continued, “So the public thinks, ‘Well, if a member of Congress can attack ICE, why can’t we?’ The rhetoric has to stop, or it’s a matter of time befor someone, one of the ICE officers goes down or a criminal goes down. We’ve already seen an officer go down.”

If a future Congress shows any fiscal conservatism and tries even to address some of its waste and abuse, left-wing lawmakers—and their allies in the media—will excoriate them for making supposedly radical cuts.

Before the House voted Thursday to pass the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries went on a record 8.5-hour rant on the House floor accusing Republicans of an “all-out assault on the health and well-being of everyday Americans.”

If that sounds ominous, note that he also called the bill “an all-out assault on the care being provided by Planned Parenthood” for prohibiting Medicaid funds from going to abortion providers for one year. Phrases like “health care” and “all-out assault” mean something different to the far left than to the rest of us.

“Squad” Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez (D-NY) is coming under fire for misstating her supposed hardscrabble background in the Bronx, with the Democrat now claiming she grew up in an area adjacent to the notoriously violent New York borough.

AOC, who rose from humble bartender to congressional celebrity after the 2018 election, backpedaled on her origin story after a new report alleging she went to high school in Yorktown Heights, a suburb 40 miles outside of New York City.

The controversy began when AOC fired back at President Donald Trump, who labeled her “one of the dumbest people in Congress” after she attempted to impeach him for striking Iran.

“Also, I’m a Bronx girl. You should know that we can eat Queens boys for breakfast. Respectfully,” the progressive lawmaker replied on social media.

Cynthia Gonzalez, the vice Mayor of Los Angeles, is facing potential Federal charges after apparently calling on gangs to go to war against America. The Department of Homeland Security called her comments “despicable,” but an arrest warrant was not immediately issued. The comments weren’t transparent, but the coding was clear, she intended to trigger violence against ICE in defense of illegal aliens.

She said “It’s everyone else who’s not about the gang life that’s out there protesting and speaking up. We’re out there, like, fighting our turf, protecting our turf, protecting our people, and like, where you at. I’m like, dude, they’re running amok all up on your streets, on your streets and in your city, and peep when the big gang guns come in, nothing but like, quiet. And we’re out here, the regular ones that have never been jumped in, out here calling things out, out trying to organize people, trying to do the thing. So don’t be trying to claim no block, no nothing if you’re not showing up right now, trying to like, help out and organize. I don’t want to hear a peep out of you once they’re gone, tryna claim that this is my block. This was not your block, you weren’t even here helping out. So whoever’s the leadership over there, just f*cking get your members in order.”

The FBI has reportedly launched an investigation into Cynthia Gonzalez over the comments.

The vice mayor of a Los Angeles County city is reportedly under federal investigation after posting a video to social media in which she called on gang members to defend their “turf” from Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Cynthia Gonzalez shared the video to social media late last week, Fox News reported, in which she said, “Not for nothing, but I wanna know where all the cholos are at in Los Angeles. 18 Street, Florencia, where’s the leadership at? Because you guys are all about territory and this is 18 Street and this is Florencia, you guys tag everything up claiming hood and now that your hood’s being invaded by the biggest gang there is, there ain’t a peep out of you.

“It’s everyone else who’s not about the gang life that’s out there protesting and speaking up. We’re out there, like, fighting our turf, protecting our turf, protecting our people, and like, where you at,” she continued.

Across multiple major cities from Los Angeles to Philadelphia, far left protesters disrupted commerce, committed acts of vandalism, assaulted police, and set buildings and vehicles on fire. As the Trump administration pulled in the National Guard, sedition district judges tried to stop him, but higher courts prevailed. The action culminated in No Kings Day, which organizers claim saw 3 million people protest and riot across the country, protesting something that doesn’t exist, an American King.

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) said the riots and protests, which his party continues to support and encourage, are doing damage to the brand. He said “I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that. This is anarchy and true chaos. My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”

Senator John Fetterman (D-PA) and “Real Time” host Bill Maher are both in agreement that the ongoing attacks on federal agents in Los Angeles, Seattle, Newark and other blue cities will come back to haunt the Democratic Party.

Maher noted that Fetterman had been receiving backlash from fellow Democrats after he condemned last week’s unrest in Los Angeles, which caused several injuries to ICE agents and L.A. law enforcement officers when rioters tossed rocks, Molotov cocktails, fireworks and more for multiple days until Trump-deployed National Guard personnel and U.S. Marines managed to restore some semblance of order.

“I unapologetically stand for free speech, peaceful demonstrations, and immigration—but this is not that,” the senator wrote in an X post this past Monday. “This is anarchy and true chaos,” Fetterman continued. “My party loses the moral high ground when we refuse to condemn setting cars on fire, destroying buildings, and assaulting law enforcement.”

During Friday’s episode of “Real Time,” Maher predicted that the instantly infamous photo of a rioter waving a Mexican flag atop a burned out car will haunt the Democratic Party going forward. “When they see it in a campaign ad, when they see the guy with the Mexican flag and the Waymo burning behind him, it’s going to be good for Trump,”  he said.

Fetterman was in agreement, stating that Americans do not want to see Los Angeles “on fire twice in just six months now.” He continued, “And those optics, I just run that through — like what’s the people in Scranton might see those kinds of images and those kinds of videos?”

No Kings Protests

On June 14, 2025, in the early morning hours, 57-year-old Vance Boelter assassinated Minnesota State Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband after attempting to assassinate Minnesota State Senator John Hoffman. In both incidents, the spouses were also shot, with Hortman’s husband also dying.

The motivation for the shooting still remains unclear and contested. So far, law enforcement has yet to release the shooter’s notes, even though parts were released that indicates he blames Governor Tim Walz (D) for the shootings. Walz appointed Boelter to a business council, though Boelter appears to have at one time been registered as a republican and there is video of him espousing “evangelical Christian” beliefs.

Authorities said a man posing as an officer shot state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette in their home early June 14, and then shot and killed state Rep. Melissa Hortman, a former Democratic speaker, and her husband Mark in their home a few miles away.

Authorities soon identified the shooting suspect as 57-year-old Vance Luther Boelter of Green Isle, Minn. And conservative influencers, including Benny Johnson, Rogan O’Handley and Mike Cernovich pounced — surfacing what they floated as an incriminating connection between Boelter and the governor.

Donald Trump used the shooting to attack Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

A Democratic North Carolina state representative ignited volcanic backlash after calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump on the same day that a Minnesota politician and her husband were assassinated.

The banner bore the words, “In these difficult times, some cuts may be necessary.” The flagpole was flanked by two prop decapitated heads, one of which resembled Trump.

The other severed head had a Nazi swastika carved into its forehead. As a reminder, Democrats routinely attack Trump and other conservatives as “Nazis.”

The horrific image essentially called for Trump‘s assassination — an appalling incitement to violence considering he was nearly assassinated twice last year.

Clashes broke out near the ICE field office in Tukwila after activists, including Antifa and anti-ICE demonstrators, surrounded the building and barricaded exits.

Seattle was the site of widespread unrest on Saturday as “No Kings” protests across the country escalated into violence, with demonstrators in the city targeting Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operations and assaulting a journalist.

Clashes broke out near the ICE field office in Tukwila, a suburb of Seattle, after activists, including Antifa and anti-ICE demonstrators, surrounded the building and barricaded exits. The protest came after ICE reportedly issued a last-minute call for illegal immigrants to appear at the office for immigration matters. Demonstrators attempted to block ICE vehicles from leaving the facility with detainees.

As ICE and Homeland Security personnel began removing detained illegal immigrants from the building, activists swarmed federal vehicles to prevent them from leaving. In response, federal and local law enforcement deployed tear gas and crowd control munitions to disperse the crowd. ICE vehicles ultimately broke through the barricades and left the area. Several arrests were made during the confrontation.

Boelter, 57, was taken into custody on Sunday night after he was located by police near his home in Sibley County, Minnesota.

Suspect in the assassination of two Minnesota state lawmakers, Vance Boelter, has been charged with two counts of second-degree murder as well as two counts of attempted murder among other charges.

Boelter, 57, was taken into custody on Sunday night after he was located by police near his home in Sibley County, Minnesota.

Posting a photo of him getting arrested, the sheriff’s office wrote, “The face of evil. After relentless and determined police work, the killer is now in custody. Thanks to the dedication of multiple agencies working together along with support from the community, justice is one step closer.”

In Minnesota, second-degree murder is murder done without premeditation, however, a grand jury may indict him for first-degree murder later on, according to Fox News analyst and former congressman Trey Gowdy.

Early on Saturday morning, Boelter allegedly posed as a cop in a vehicle that he made appear as a police car and is accused of fatally shooting State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, early Saturday morning at their home in Brooklyn Park. He is believed to have critically injured State Sen. John Hoffman as well as his wife, Yvette, during the rampage.

Last weekend, liberal America decided to take to the streets for No Kings Day, a loser exercise which did nothing. We have no king, Trump is still president, and Kamala Harris still lost the 2024 election. The ICE raids will continue, so deal with it. It’s also extra hilarious since liberals wanted Obama to act like a king during his presidency. It’s not just little old biased me saying No Kings was a waste of time: Ruy Teixeira, a liberal commentator and political analyst, threw cold water all over this little protest, saying it’s not enough.

If you’re unfamiliar with Teixeira’s work, he worked for the Center for American Progress but was essentially forced out because his analyses made his fellow liberals angry, namely the Democratic Party’s hard shift to the Left and its denigration of the working class. Ironically, he’s now with the American Enterprise Institute, last time I checked.

On his Substack, he noted that Trump and the GOP’s popularity over the Democrats is the first death blow to this notion that ‘No Kings’ could evolve into a larger movement. The second is that core Democratic voter groups have all turned against the Democrats. Last, he cited David Brooks’ column about why Democrats’ odyssey out of the wilderness won’t be easy. Liberals find themselves on the opposite end of where social trends are going right now: they’re institutionalists in an era where everyone hates institutions. They’re elitists when voters view elections as a duel between the elites and everyone else. While David Brooks isn’t MAGA, he was spot-on in highlighting those structural flaws within the Democratic Party. Now, there were some things about Teixeira’s post that I disagreed with, but overall, he shined a light into how the Left doesn’t get it yet:

This time is different. This time, he’s gone too far. This time, voters will be roused from their stupor and massively reject the Bad Orange Man. If only it were that simple. Here are some reasons why it’s not.

They’re not popular but then again neither are the Democrats. Trump’s approval has gone down since the beginning of his second term, now sitting at 46.5 percent in the RCP running average (a point lower in Nate Silver’s average). But Trump is still running ahead of his approval rating at this point in his first term. And at this point in his second term, he’s actually running slightly ahead of Obama and Bush at this point in their second terms.

… Rally-goers were set to meet at the southwest corner of Scottsdale Road and Camelback Road, directly across the street from Scottsdale Fashion Square, a shopping center. In May 2020, this mall endured millions of dollars in damages during the Black Lives Matter riots, leading to dozens of arrests for looting and criminal damage. Those events left lingering fears among some locals that Saturday’s protest could spark similar destruction.

On Saturday morning, a few hundred protesters gathered in the area, spreading across all sides of the intersection and occasionally spilling into nearby blocks. Concrete barriers kept the crowd, which mostly included adults in their 50s and older, from blocking traffic.

A strong law enforcement presence monitored the area, with local police patrolling the perimeter and periodically moving through the crowd, maintaining order without incident.

Protesters attending the No Kings rallies, which were reportedly backed by 198 groups with $2.1 billion in annual revenue, were encouraged to show up at the events with American flags to “reclaim” national symbols.

There is no unrest in the streets of America’s cities and small towns. There is no violence. In fact, what we were told before the election could happen, that society would instantly disintegrate, hasn’t happened.

Many in the media who ran Biden off of the Democratic ticket and then bent the knee to Trump looked around at what must be disappointment.

The media, like Trump, were banking on chaos and fear to bring eyeballs back and revive their business after four years of struggle under Joe Biden.

Donald Trump needed chaos and fear to serve as a pretext for the consolidation of power within the executive branch. The media needed chaos and fear to get their audience back.

Nowhere in this 17-paragraph article is a single ideological label — liberal, leftist, progressive, socialist, not even “Democrat.” They’re just “opponents.” They certainly weren’t “extremists,” even though the PBS News website illustrated AP with a woman holding a sign that said “The Trump Fascist Regime MUST GO NOW!” That’s not how democracy works.

You can call Trump a “fascist” and be treated as non-ideological. Seattle-based “National Flex Reporter” Lisa Baumann began:

Opponents of President Donald Trump’s administration are set to rally in hundreds of cities on Saturday during the military parade in Washington to mark the Army’s 250th anniversary, which coincides with Trump’s birthday.

The “No Kings” protests are set to take place to counter what organizers say are Trump’s plans to feed his ego on his 79th birthday and Flag Day. “No Kings” will follow several days of nationwide protests against federal immigration raids including in Los Angeles, where Trump’s deployment of the National Guard further agitated his opponents.

It was a conflicting, polar day in America. In one city, a parade costing tens of millions of dollars was complete with robot military dogs walking down the street, the president being serenaded by a crowd singing Happy Birthday, and thousands of Army service members marching in rows. In a city just North of DC, at the flagship No Kings rally in Philadelphia, an estimated 80,000 people called out chants that have become familiar since 2016, like “Hey-hey! Ho-ho! Donald Trump has got to go!” and ones befitting the protest, like “Let freedom ring! We don’t want a king!”

Nearly 3,000 miles away in Los Angeles, police shot stun grenades and rubber bullets, and used tear gas, on a group of demonstrators protesting the Trump administration’s attacks on immigrant communities. The offensive from police who claimed they were attempting to disperse the crowd came hours before the 8 o’clock curfew that part of downtown was placed under by Mayor Karen Bass.

Klobuchar agreed with Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer to increase security for Congress members after the targeted attacks.

“When I was chair of the Rules Committee, I worked really hard to get more security for members’ homes and offices. And that is because of the facts: In 2016, there were about 1,700 threats against members of Congress. Now, in the last year, there were over 9,000 threats,” Klobuchar said.

Klobuchar compared Boelter to David DePape, the man sentenced to life in prison without parole after he attacked former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) husband. Klobuchar noted that similar threats have also been made against judges.

“They read things online, they believe them, they start acting them out, they already are imbalanced themselves, and they actually go do what they’re reading online,” Klobuchar said. “So that has been a contributor, as well as, of course, a lot of hateful rhetoric, and there are a lot of politicians that should be looking in the mirror and bringing their rhetoric down.”

In a 2021 video unearthed by Blue Georgia, Vance Boelter could be seen giving a speech to a church in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

“And I’m just as excited about Jesus!” Boelter shouted. “And when I get excited, and when I get excited, I want to dance. I want to dance. And what Jesus did for me, Oh, Jesus is God! Almighty God! He saved my life! Woo!”

“I’m excited about God!” he continued. “Oh, I want to want to love God. Because he’s coming again and he’s excited. And he’s got plans. He has plans and purposes. And the design for each one of you. And for me!”

Speaking on Meet the Press on Sunday, Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) linked the shootings to Boelter’s religious ideology.

“It was politically motivated, and there clearly was some through line with abortion because of the groups that were on the list and other things that I’ve heard were in this manifesto,” she said.

Hours after the shooting of two Minnesota lawmakers and their spouses, prominent conservative influencers spun unsubstantiated theories that the suspect was a left-wing extremist who targeted the Democratic-aligned leaders for voting against party lines, and did so with the blessing of the state’s top Democrat, Gov. Tim Walz.

Walz, the former Democratic vice presidential nominee, reappointed Boelter in 2019 to a state board focused on Minnesota’s workforce. But we found no evidence that Walz and Boelter were closely acquainted nor any evidence that Walz was in any way linked to the shootings, which he described as an “unspeakable tragedy” and “targeted political violence.”

After a decade of Donald Trump being on the national political stage, it is clear to all observers that Trump is incapable of being a decent or normal human being.

Any president after the horrific shootings of State Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband, Democratic State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife would show empathy, compassion, and leadership by condemning political violence.

Donald Trump used the shooting to attack Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Trump told ABC’s Rachel Scott, who posted on X:

On Minnesota – I asked the president about the assassination and whether he plans to call the state’s democratic governor @Tim_Walz

“Well, it’s a terrible thing. I think he’s a terrible governor. I think he’s a grossly incompetent person. But I may, I may call him, I may call other people too,” the president said.

As Townhall covered, two Minnesota state legislators were targeted in shootings in their homes late last week. State Sen. John Hoffman and his wife survived. Hortman and her husband were murdered.

In the interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Klobuchar claimed that suspect Vance Boelter, 57, had a list of targets. This included “prominent pro-choice individuals in Minnesota,” an official who has seen the list confirmed to The Hill.

“It was politically motivated, and there clearly was some through line with abortion because of the groups that were on the list, and other things that I’ve heard were in this manifesto. So that was one of his motivations,” Klobuchar said.

However, hours before being killed, Hortman was caught on video breaking down in tears after she sided with Republicans on cutting funding for illegal aliens.

A Democratic North Carolina state representative ignited volcanic backlash after calling for the assassination of President Donald Trump on the same day that a Minnesota politician and her husband were assassinated.

On Saturday, Rep. Julie von Haefen posted a photo on social media showing a protester gleefully holding a flagpole banner with a grisly image of a bloody guillotine at the anti-Trump “No Kings” protest in Raleigh, North Carolina.

The wife of suspected political assassin Vance Boetler is being detained and questioned after police recovered a weapon, cash and passports in her car during a traffic stop on Saturday morning. Federal and state law enforcement agencies are continuing to search for the gunman accused of gunning down Democratic–Farmer–Labor Party (DFL) Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman and her husband, Mark, and wounding State Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette.

Jenny Boetler was stopped by police while driving in a car with several relatives near Onamia, Minnesota, late Saturday morning around 10 a.m., local outlet KTSP reported. A witness reported seeing about a dozen law enforcement vehicles converging on the scene, where they stayed for more than three hours.

Sources told the outlet that the vehicle contained a weapon, ammunition, cash and passports. The report further stressed that no arrests have been made and that the vehicle’s occupants are only being detained for questioning as of this report.

“Her disgraceful behavior fails to meet the standards expected from House members and sets a dangerous precedent in an already volatile political climate,” Hall said in part. “I am examining next steps with our legislative attorneys to ensure this behavior does not continue.”

The state’s first-term Democratic Gov. Josh Stein, the North Carolina Democratic Party and the Democratic National Committee remained silent Monday morning, about 48 hours since the post first appeared.

The Center Square reached out to von Haefen’s office on Sunday at 2:51 p.m. At 3 p.m., she posted an explanation to her Facebook page. Increasing calls for her resignation followed, including the House speaker’s statement about three hours later.

Minnesota faces federal lawsuit for offering illegal immigrants college tuition benefits denied to Americans

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a complaint challenging laws in Minnesota that provide free and reduced in-state tuition to illegal aliens, claiming the laws are unconstitutional.

Under federal law, higher education institutions are prohibited from providing benefits to illegal aliens not offered to U.S. citizens.

According to the DOJ, Minnesota’s laws unconstitutionally discriminate against U.S. citizens and are in direct conflict with federal law.

“No state can be allowed to treat Americans like second-class citizens in their own country by offering financial benefits to illegal aliens,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said. “The Department of Justice just won on this exact issue in Texas, and we look forward to taking this fight to Minnesota in order to protect the rights of American citizens first.”

By filing the lawsuit, the DOJ is demanding that Minnesota stop the enforcement of a law requiring public colleges and universities to provide in-state tuition rates and free tuition based on certain income circumstances to immigrants in the country illegally who maintain state residency.

U.S. District Judge Charles Breyer will proceed with evaluating Gov. Gavin Newsom‘s (D-CA) claims that President Donald Trump‘s use of the National Guard in Los Angeles violated a federal law preventing troops from being used for regular law enforcement activities, despite an appeals court ruling that Breyer could not pause the use of the troops.

Last week, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit blocked Breyer’s previous pause on Trump’s federalization of the National Guard after Breyer said the president unlawfully took over it.

After the appeals court took jurisdiction over those claims, Breyer requested briefs from California officials and the Justice Department on whether they believed he could still rule on Newsom’s claims that the deployed troops violated the Posse Comitatus Act by engaging in civilian law enforcement activities. In an order filed late Wednesday evening in California, Breyer ruled that he has that authority and ordered some discovery to be permitted in the case.

“Both parties posit that the Court does retain that jurisdiction,” Breyer wrote in his order. “Upon review, the Court agrees. The Court may proceed with the case, including by hearing arguments on the propriety of a preliminary injunction on Posse Comitatus Act grounds and by allowing discovery.”

Breyer said he would consider a preliminary injunction on Newsom’s allegations that the Trump administration violated the Posse Comitatus Act following a timeline requested by California officials. Their briefing requested responses and depositions be completed by July 11 and a supplemental briefing be filed by July 15.

An initial classified assessment found the U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities set back Tehran’s nuclear program by a matter of months, according to three sources familiar with its contents.

The assessment, produced by the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Pentagon’s military intelligence wing, said the strikes caused the entrances to two nuclear enrichment facilities, including Fordo, to be sealed off. Resumption of the enrichment program may be determined by how long it takes Iran to clear the entrances and make repairs to electrical and water supplies, two sources familiar with the report’s findings said.

The DIA assessment also indicates some of Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile was moved before the strikes, one of the sources said.

Officials familiar with the report cautioned that it was an early assessment that could change as more information becomes available about the sites. It was not immediately clear at what confidence level the judgments included in the report were made.

A complete battle damage assessment is still being assembled, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine said on Sunday at a press availability.

“Final battle damage will take some time, but initial battle damage assessments indicate that all three sites sustained extremely severe damage and destruction,” Caine said.

ARREST HER, HOMAN: L.A.-Area Vice Mayor Encourages Gangs to Fight ICE– pjmedia.com

Excerpt:

Did you hear the one about the Los Angeles-area vice mayor who (allegedly!) encouraged local gang members to “organize” against immigration control?

It’s no joke, but I’ll get back to that in just a sec after this important reminder.

It seems like just earlier this month [it was just earlier this month, Steve —Editor] that Tom Homan, President Donald Trump’s border czar, threatened to arrest literally “anybody” interfering with ICE roundups of illegal aliens.

“Every day in L.A., we’re going to enforce immigration law,” Homan said during the “resistance” to ICE raids almost three weeks ago — and not for the first time. “I don’t care if they like it or not.”

“I’ll say it about anybody,” Homan said when asked if that applied to elected officials. “You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job.”

Then there’s Cynthia Gonzalez, vice mayor of Cudahy in southeast Los Angeles County. She didn’t so much cross Homan’s line but launched herself across it in rocket-boosted roller skates, waving pom-poms, and singing, “Let’s kill some ICE officers, everybody!” with the combined vocal power of all Three Tenors.

“Not for nothing, but I wanna know where all the cholos [gang members] are at in Los Angeles,” Gonzalez said in a since-deleted video posted to social media. “18th Street, Florencia. Where’s the leadership at?… Now that your hood is being invaded by the biggest gang there is, there ain’t a peep out of you… Don’t be trying to claim no block, no nothing if you’re not showing up right now trying to help out and organize.”

It doesn’t take a rocket surgeon to know what Gonzalez means when she tells street gangs to “help out and organize.” Those folks aren’t exactly known for their skills at printing protest signs and chanting.

There’s a word for armed resistance to legal authorities. Someone want to remind me what it is?

Does maybe Tom Homan want to remind Ms. Gonzalez?

Do we need to remind Homan?

The Department of Homeland Security is fully aware of the vice mayor’s video. The official DHS X account reposted it yesterday, calling her words “despicable,” and including a stern warning.

“This kind of garbage has led to a more than 500 percent increase in assaults against our ICE law enforcement officers,” DHS posted. “Secretary Noem has been clear: If you assault a federal officer, you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”

That’s nice, but enough with the stern warnings already. Regular lawbreakers are difficult enough for any government to deal with. But when government officials encourage lawbreaking — hell, not just lawbreaking, but urging violence against law enforcement officers — without ever being held to account, that’s real Fall of Rome stuff.

I can tell you with 100% certainty that MAGA world is just itching to see some perp walks. Just one would do, really, to get people’s spirits up. Seriously, fellas, we were promised some perp walks, and certain Democrats — I’m looking at you, Gavin Newsom, Karen Bass, and now Cynthia Gonzalez — are practically begging to spend at least the night in a local lockup.

The ball’s in your court, Mr. Homan — and so are the cuffs.

Farbiarz made the decision during a hearing in New Jersey.

The Democrat judge called the detention of the foreign national by immigration authorities “highly unusual.”

Khalil had been held in a detention facility in Jena, Louisiana, following his arrest in March outside his apartment near Columbia University.

He is facing deportation proceedings after his student visa had expired.

The modern Democrat Party is many things. But an ardent defender of Americans’ First Amendment right to free speech is not one of them.

This theme was front and center during a sit-down interview former President Barack Obama participated in at The Connecticut Forum earlier this week. At one point in his conversation with historian and author Heather Cox Richardson, America’s 44th commander-in-chief broached the subject of “propaganda” and how “[t]hose in power, those with money, exploit [the information] space in which nobody knows what’s true.”

“Vladimir Putin and the KGB had a saying that was then adopted proudly by Steve Bannon, which was if you want propaganda to be effective, you don’t have to convince people that what you are saying is true,” Obama said. “You just have to flood the zone with so much poop. They use a different word. But you have to flood the zone with so much untruth, constantly, that at some point people don’t believe anything.”

The former president went on to take an indirect shot at President Donald Trump’s contesting of the 2020 election results, saying, “it doesn’t matter if a candidate running for office just is constantly, just hypothetically, saying untrue things, or if an elected president claims that he won when he lost and that the system was rigged, but then when he wins, then it isn’t rigged, because he won.” Tying it back to his remarks about “propaganda,” he noted, “It just matters if everybody starts kind of throwing up their hands and saying, well, I guess it doesn’t matter.”

“And that’s what’s happened. That’s what’s happened in one of our major political parties. You have a whole bunch of people who know that’s not true, but we will pretend like it is. And that is dangerous,” Obama said.

One of the most disturbing trends in politics since the 2000 election has been retired admirals and generals trading on their former military rank to meddle in partisan politics. The trend really hit its stride in 2008, when Barack Obama enlisted about 60 retired flag officers/general officers as campaign surrogates. Since then, Democrat presidential candidates trotting out tamed FOGOs to give them national security cred has become a standard, reaching a possible nadir when at least ten of them endorsed Kamala Harris and characterized Trump as “dangerous.”

President Trump’s well-founded decision to federalize a portion of the California Army National Guard (4,100 of a force of about 24,000) has caused another spasm of inappropriate political activity by retired generals. Several joined Gavin Newsom’s specious lawsuit attempting to limit Trump’s authority granted by Article 2 of the U.S. Constitution by filing an amicus brief. That case was demolished by a panel of the Ninth Circuit on Thursday; see Breaking: 9th Circuit Issues Stay Pending Appeal in CA National Guard Case, Handing Trump a Big Win.

One of their allies was granted editorial space on Fox News to spread what can only be called a disingenuous, bordering on overtly dishonest, description of the situation. Retired Major General Randy Manner essentially paraphrases the arguments in the amicus brief filed supporting Newsom’s push to institutionalize lawlessness in California. In his profile, he omits the small fact that he endorsed Kamala Harris, but full disclosure is for losers, anyway.

In a vapid op-ed headlined I led National Guard and regular Army units. Using the military to intimidate Americans is 100% wrong. Manner makes the extraordinary charge that the Trump administration is engaged in a “dramatic misuse of power and could lead to disastrous legal, operational and ethical outcomes.” So what are the specific instances of “misuse of power?”

“Prices would rise — sharply — they said, reigniting an inflation crisis that tens of millions of Americans had elected [President Donald Trump] to solve,” CNN’s David Goldman wrote on Friday. “But that massive, tariff-induced inflation spike hasn’t materialized. Not even close.”

Indeed, it hasn’t. But who exactly is Goldman referring to when he says, “they said”? Well, Goldman might want to check his own newsroom.

On May 16, CNN’s Allison Morrow wrote, “There’s no denying it now: Tariffs are raising prices.”

“Donald Trump’s pitch to Americans on the campaign trail last year included a simple (and simplistic) promise: lower prices on Day One. Even if he didn’t mean it literally, it’s now Day 115, and the results of his only significant economic policy show that the opposite is happening,” Morrow wrote.

Three days prior, CNN’s Nathaniel Meyersohn wrote, “Tariffs have already made mattresses, strollers and power tools more expensive.”

Some other doomsday predictions from CNN include Auzinea Bacon’s May 24 article titled “These companies will raise prices because of Trump’s tariffs,” accusing Trump of giving “many Americans whiplash” as companies announced “daunting” price hikes. “Anything from groceries and clothing to toys and cars could cost Americans more,” Bacon wrote.

A so-called judge has once again subverted the rule of law and potentially endangered the public due to hatred of President Trump.

As The New York Times reported, a federal judge ordered the Trump administration on Friday to release pro-Hamas student activist Mahmoud Khalil on bail. At this time, he is the only ‘major’ anti-Israel agitator demonstrator in America remaining in confinement.

U.S. District Judge Michael Farbiarz, an appointee of Joe Biden, issued the ruling.

The Gateway Pundit previously reported that Farbiarz ruled that the Trump administration could not deport Mahmoud Khalil, who was a graduate student at Columbia University before being detained.

Back in March, The Gateway Pundit reported that Trump’s ICE agents arrested Khalil, who led anti-Israel protests at Columbia and Barnard College.

He was set to be deported after being detained and taken into custody by ICE. The State Department had also issued an edict revoking his student visa and green card.

But U.S. District Judge Jesse M. Furman, an Obama appointee, slammed the brakes on the Trump administration’s efforts to deport Khalil.

In a hearing on Wednesday, an attorney for a South Bend, Indiana sheriff argued the state attorney general can’t prosecute him for allegedly ignoring state law banning sanctuary cities.

The Saint Joseph County Police Department “has repeatedly released criminal aliens into the community” for at least a year, Assistant Chief Deputy Attorney General Blake Lanning told The Federalist. “That creates serious public safety risks.”

Rather than showing the police department is complying with state law by informing U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) of illegally present foreign criminals in their custody, Sheriff Bill Redman’s attorney argued Attorney General Todd Rokita has no legal authority to prosecute his agency for failing to comply. Redman lawyer Michael Smyth also argued that failing to cooperate with federal law enforcement does no injury to the state, a requirement for lawsuit standing, according to local news reports.

Recent polls rank illegal immigration as Hoosier voters’ no. 1 political concern, yet Indiana lawmakers declined to pass a robust immigration enforcement bill backed by the AG’s office this spring. Refusing to honor detainers is a typical component of sanctuary city policies. Local governments’ refusal to cooperate with federal immigration enforcement is a major contributor to the United States’s illegal immigration morass.
