The illegal immigrant truck driver who has been charged with vehicular homicide in the deaths of three people in Florida has been revealed to have crossed the US border illegally into California in September 2018 and was given a commercial driving license by California under the state’s sanctuary laws.
For instance, in December 2022, Hochul pardoned nine foreign nationals who engaged in criminal activity after migrating to the United States — crimes including drug dealing, theft, robbery witness tampering, and drug possession.
“Clemency is a powerful tool that can be exercised to advance the interests of justice and fairness and to recognize efforts made by individuals to improve not only their own lives but the lives of those around them,” the Democratic governor said at the time.

Spike Lee Threatens: ‘Trump Should Think Twice Before Any Federal Move on NYC’– conservativeroof.com Source Link Excerpt:
Hollywood director Spike Lee has cautioned President Donald Trump against any federal move on Democrat-controlled New York City, speculating he would “think twice” about any such security intervention.
In an interview with MSNBC’s Rev. Al Sharpton, the issue was raised and this was Lee’s response in the exchange between the pair:
LEE: “We’re, Rev, as you know, this country right now, it’s bananas. And this guy trying to take over D.C. and just weaponize these things, I mean, he’s going to think twice to try to do that in New York though. That ain’t — the Boogie Down, Harlem, Bed-Stuy, Do or Die? Eh-eh.”
Around the year 1212, a boy preached to children in France that they should take up the cross and follow him to the Holy Land. Thousands did. None reached Jerusalem. Most gave up before leaving Europe. Others were shipwrecked or sold into slavery in the Islamic caliphate of Tunisia.
Centuries later, the Biden administration’s facilitation of mass illegal entry by unaccompanied alien children and release of them into the hands of unvetted adults has caused misery on an even larger scale.
The seed was planted years earlier. As Lora Ries, a former official with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, wrote, a 2008 law called the Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act created incentives to “entice parents to send their children across the border unaccompanied to receive immigration benefits and gain a foothold in the U.S. so their families could hopefully later follow.”
The discovery was made by local authorities early on Tuesday morning in an area that is usually peaceful and not associated with cartel violence.
The route where the severed heads were found links the central states of Puebla and Tlaxcala. Police have not yet provided a motive behind the killings, nor have they revealed any information regarding which criminal groups operating in Mexico could have been behind the horrific act.
Nebraska is partnering with the Trump administration to open “Cornhusker Clink,” a detention center to house illegal immigrants awaiting deportation or other proceedings, in a remote southwest corner of the state, Gov. Jim Pillen announced on Aug. 19.
The state will work with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to convert its Work Ethic Camp in McCook into the holding center.
About 20 Army National Guard soldiers will also help provide administrative and logistical support to federal immigration officials as they work together to enforce immigration laws in the state. The soldiers are scheduled to start training within the next week, Pillon announced.
DAILY CALLER NEWS FOUNDATION—The Trump administration is making it much more difficult for foreign nationals who display anti-American behavior to live and work in the U.S.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) will begin screening foreign national applicants for anti-American behavior when they apply for certain immigration benefits, according to a policy update from the agency. Posting anti-American rhetoric online, voicing solidarity with terrorist groups, or expressing antisemitic language would be deemed an “overwhelmingly negative” factor for migrants hoping to upgrade their status.
“America’s benefits should not be given to those who despise the country and promote anti-American ideologies,” USCIS spokesman Matthew Tragesser said in a public statement.
The United States has deployed three Aegis guided-missile destroyers to the coast of Venezuela, amid President Trump’s push to pressure Latin American drug cartels.
The USS Gravely, the USS Jason Dunham, and the USS Sampson are set to arrive shortly, according to a U.S. official who was not authorized to comment and spoke Tuesday on the condition of anonymity to the Associated Press. They confirmed that U.S. military assets are being sent to the region for counter-narcotics operations and that the destroyers would be deployed “over the course of several months.”
The move comes as President Trump pushes to use the U.S. military against the cartels he blames for flooding American communities with fentanyl and fueling violence in American cities – both through illegal immigration, cross-border drug trafficking, as well as other long-established smuggling networks across land and sea – that Washington has previously failed to completely counter.
The Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday morning that ICE has received 100,000 applications in less than 15 days from “patriotic Americans who want to help remove murderers, gang members, pedophiles, and terrorists” from the United States.
“Our country is calling you to serve at ICE,” Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said in a statement. “In the wake of the Biden administration’s failed immigration policies, your country needs dedicated men and women of ICE to get the worst of the worst criminals out of our country. This is a defining moment in our nation’s history. Your skills, your experience, and your courage have never been more essential. Together, we must defend the homeland. JOIN.ICE.GOV.”
There was a massive and unprecedented decline in the foreign-born population in the United States between January and July of this year, with some 2.2 million fewer immigrants present in the country.
According to a Tuesday analysis of Current Population Survey data from the Center for Immigration Studies, the total “foreign-born population of all ages, both in and out of the labor force” decreased by an “unprecedented” 2.2 million during the first seven months of the year.
The falloff in the “total foreign-born” population was entirely comprised of non-citizens, as the number of naturalized U.S. citizens has “actually increased some since January,” per the analysis.
Mexico sends 26 cartel members to U.S. in deal with Trump administration– www.cbsnews.com Source Link Excerpt:
Mexico sent 26 high-ranking cartel figures to the United States Tuesday in the latest major deal with the Trump administration as American authorities ratchet up pressure on criminal networks smuggling drugs across the border.
Those handed over to U.S. custody include Abigael González Valencia, a leader of “Los Cuinis,” a group closely aligned with notorious cartel Jalisco New Generation, or CJNG. Another defendant, Roberto Salazar, is wanted in connection to the 2008 killing of a Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy. Other prominent figures have ties to the Sinaloa Cartel and other violent drug trafficking groups.
“These transfers are not only a strategic measure to ensure public safety, but also reflect a firm determination to prevent these criminals from continuing to operate from within prisons and to break up their networks of influence,” Mexican Security Minister Omar García Harfuch said in a news conference on Wednesday.
Mexico President Claudia Sheinbaum also said earlier Wednesday that the transfers were “sovereign decisions,” but the move comes as the Mexican leader faces mounting pressure by the Trump administration to crack down on cartels and fentanyl production.
Late last month, Mr. Trump spoke with Sheinbaum and agreed to put off threatened 30% tariffs for another 90 days to allow for negotiations.
The transfers are a milestone for the Trump administration, which has made dismantling dangerous drug cartels a key Justice Department priority. It’s the second time in months that Mexico has expelled cartel figures accused of narcotics smuggling, murder and other crimes amid mounting pressure from the Trump administration to curb the flow of drugs onto American streets.
“These 26 men have all played a role in bringing violence and drugs to American shores — under this Department of Justice, they will face severe consequences for their crimes against this country,” Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. “We are grateful to Mexico’s National Security team for their collaboration in this matter.”
In February, Mr. Trump signed an executive order designating CJNG, Sinaloa and six other cartels — Tren de Aragua, Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13), Cártel del Noreste (formerly Los Zetas), La Nueva Familia Michoacana, Cártel de Golfo (Gulf Cartel), and Cárteles Unidos — as foreign terrorist organizations.
The cartel figures were put on planes to the U.S. after the Justice Department agreed not to seek the death penalty against any of the defendants or against any cartel leaders and members sent to the U.S. in February. That transfer was of 29 cartel figures, including drug lord Rafael Caro Quintero, who was behind the killing of a U.S. DEA agent in 1985.
“This transfer is yet another example of what is possible when two governments stand united against violence and impunity,” U.S. Ambassador to Mexico Ronald Johnson said in a statement. “These fugitives will now face justice in U.S. courts, and the citizens of both of our nations will be safer from these common enemies.”
Sheinbaum has shown a willingness to cooperate more on security than her predecessor, specifically being more aggressive in pursuit of Mexico’s cartels. But she has drawn a clear line when it comes to Mexico’s sovereignty, rejecting suggestions by Mr. Trump and others of intervention by the U.S. military.
Last week, a source familiar with the matter confirmed to CBS News that Mr. Trump directed the military to target drug cartels in Latin America. Sheinbaum responded Friday by saying there would be “no invasion of Mexico.”
Also included in the group expelled Tuesday was Servando Gómez Martinez, also known as “La Tuta,” a former school teacher who became one of Mexico’s most-wanted drug lords as head of the Knights Templar cartel. He was captured in 2015 and sentenced to 55 years in a Mexican prison in June 2019.

Gomez led the quasi-religious criminal group that once exercised absolute control over Michoacan and he liked to appear in interviews and videos. The cartel orchestrated politics, controlled commerce, dictated rules and preached a code of ethics around devotion to God and family, even as it murdered and plundered.
Abigael González Valencia is the brother-in-law of CJNG leader Nemesio Rubén “El Mencho” Oseguera Cervantes, a top target of the U.S. government. Abigael González Valencia was arrested in February 2015 in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco and had been fighting extradition to the United States since then. The U.S. government has offered a reward of up to $15 million for information leading to “El Mencho’s” arrest or conviction.
Alongside his two brothers, Abigael González Valencia led “Los Cuinis,” which financed the founding and growth of the CJNG, one of the most powerful and dangerous cartels in Mexico. CJNG traffics hundreds of tons of cocaine, methamphetamine, and fentanyl into the United States and other countries and is known for extreme violence, murders, torture, and corruption.
One of his brothers, José González Valencia, was sentenced in Washington’s federal court in June to 30 years in a U.S. prison after pleading guilty to international cocaine trafficking. Jose González Valencia was arrested in 2017 under the first Trump administration at a beach resort in Brazil while vacationing with his family under a fake name.
Raul Luna-Perez, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, killed a New Jersey mom and her 11-year-old daughter who were on their way to get milkshakes from Wawa, according to the New York Post. 442 ‘sponsors’ for illegal immigrant minors arrested on suspicion of child abuse, other crimes after Biden allowed 450,000 unaccompanied kids across border | The Post Millennial– thepostmillennial.com Source Link Excerpt:
The Trump administration has been able to locate over 13,000 of the minors.
442 child migrant “sponsors” have been arrested on suspicion of child abuse or other crimes after the Biden administration allowed 450,000 illegal migrant children into the US without adult supervision. This comes as the Trump administration has been able to locate 13,000 of the minors that were allowed into the country under the border policies of the previous administration.
NewsNation’s Ali Bradley reported, citing information from authorities, that 442 of the sponsors for the children so far have been arrested by ICE for being involved in suspected child abuse or other crimes.
On Friday, a local newspaper in Allentown, PA, published a story making a salacious claim against the Trump administration. According to “family members,” ICE had arrested and roughed up their 82-year-old grandfather, a legal asylum holder, before deporting him to Guatemala.
The Morning Call claimed that Luis Leon was trying to replace his lost green card at a local USCIS office when the Chilean national was deported to the wrong country, where he ended up in a hospital recovering from pneumonia. Further, the family said Leon’s wife was kept in custody, in terrible conditions, for 10 hours before being released.
Multiple international news outlets, including The Guardian, ran with the story, giving it an air of credibility, to the point where AI engines like Google and Grok were claiming it was confirmed. But by Sunday, holes started to appear.
For example, why did the family first claim Leon had died in custody before changing the story to him being deported to Guatemala? Why could the Guatemalan authorities find no record of Leon being admitted into their country? Why was the granddaughter, who was the primary source for the press, claiming that Leon had “no plans” to return to the United States if he was illegally deported to a country he’s not even from?
Instead of pressing those inconsistencies, though, The Morning Call doubled down. According to their first update of the story, the granddaughter flew to Guatemala and relayed information from Leon himself, including a series of new or altered claims. Immigration lawyer Nicolette Glazer, who has been chronicling this story from the beginning, was immediately skeptical given her expertise.
The suit alleges that the cuts may result in the “collapse of some of the nation’s most vital public programs.”
Twenty-one Democrat-led states have sued the Trump administration over the president’s moves to restrict illegal immigrants from getting federal benefits. The lawsuit is headed up by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who previously brought a criminal case against Trump over claims he inflated the value of his New York properties.
The suit alleges that the Trump administration’s cut of federal funds for illegal immigrants will impact education and health programs. These include the Head Start early education program for lower-income families, per the New York Times, as well as 12 health and education programs. The Trump administration also said that funding for illegal immigrants enrolled in technical and adult education would be cut. The Labor Department said it would not allow illegal immigrants to get work force development grants.
The suit claims the actions from the Trump administration may result in the “collapse of some of the nation’s most vital public programs,” and that US citizens would also be denied the funding because of the measures. They believe that the funded groups will not be able to differentiate between American citizens and illegal immigrants and will be unable to comply with the Trump administration’s demands.
“These programs work because they are open, accessible and grounded in compassion,” James said in statement. “Now, the federal government is pulling that foundation out from under us overnight, jeopardizing cancer screenings, early childhood education, primary care and so much more.”
An appellate court ruled the Trump administration can move forward with ending temporary deportation protections for thousands of Afghan and Cameroonian nationals.
The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is allowed to end the Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for roughly 10,000 Afghans and Cameroonians while a court challenge against the move continues to play out in court, the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Monday. The court determined that while CASA — an immigration advocacy group suing DHS — has a plausible case, there is not enough evidence to block the TPS phaseout while the court challenge continues.
“We agree with the district court that CASA, Inc. has stated a plausible claim for relief with regard to the alleged ‘preordained’ decision to terminate temporary protected status (TPS) for Afghanistan and Cameroon, and that the balance of the equities and the public interest weigh in favor of CASA, Inc,” the court stated, according to court documents.
“At this procedural posture, however, there is insufficient evidence to warrant the extraordinary remedy of a postponement of agency action pending appeal,” the ruling continued.
Attorney General Pam Bondi announced a major change in sanctuary status for Louisville Tuesday morning as the administration continues its pressure campaign against Democrat mayors and governors for harboring violent criminal illegal aliens.
“In a major victory for the Department of Justice, the city of Louisville is dropping its sanctuary city policies as a result of a strong written warning from my office,” Bondi announced. “This should set an example to other cities. Instead of forcing us to sue you — which we will, without hesitation — follow the law, get rid of sanctuary policies, and work with us to fix the illegal immigration crisis.”
The news comes just one day after Border Czar Tom Homan said the Trump administration is going to “flood the zone” to find criminals in sanctuary jurisdictions across the country.
🚨🚨🚨Tom Homan has a message for sanctuary cities:
“I will work very hard with Secretary Noem to keep President Trump’s promise and his commitment several weeks ago that sanctuary cities are now our PRIORITY. We’re gonna FLOOD THE ZONE.” pic.twitter.com/wnb6Qfh7Wi
.@RealTomHoman on NYC: “We’re going to FLOOD THE ZONE of sanctuary cities. We’re sending additional agents… If they don’t give us access to the bad guy in Rikers Island or at the precincts, then we’ll go into the neighborhood and find him. We’re not going to give up on this.” pic.twitter.com/yRG1U2cdLM

Donald Trump’s Border Czar Tom Homan cried to the media that a migrant doesn’t have to be a criminal to be arrested, detained and deported now because their immigration status decides if they are a criminal. This, despite the fact that being undocumented is not a crime; it’s a civil violation.
During the run up to the 2024 election, Donald Trump and JD Vance continually proclaimed that every migrant crossing the border were either serial killers, cannibals, murderers, or rapists.
These were the migrants he was going to deport.
Since racist Stephen Miller is in control of ICE now (basically the whole country really), Trump’s immigration policies require 80-year-old migrants, children playing on soccer fields, day workers, farm workers, and brown people in general to be scooped up by unmarked cars and balaclava-wearing masked men so they can be shipped off to alligator prisons.
This is Trump’s America.
Here is Tom “General Zod” Homan ranting during a presser earlier today.
ZOD: Then I read another story about how most people in ICE detention aren’t criminals. Now the story is, how bad of a criminal they have to be.
I saw a story the other day, only 1% of the illegal aliens removed were murderers.
Are you kidding me? Being in the country illegally is not illegal anymore, you got committed murder to be deported?
If you look at ICE detention, I’ll say it again, look at detention, who’s in detention, I looked at the numbers this morning, a majority are criminals, have criminal history.
Who are the rest? Border cases, who a judge ordered removed. The others are expedited removal, by federal statute, demands they be detained. So with the media out there, let’s try telling the truth about the men and women of ICE and the men and women of the Border Patrol.
Florida RINO representative Maria Elvira Salazar introduced a bill that would allow illegals to continue to work here and send money home. Salazar said the quiet part out loud when she stated in her press release, “The legislation acknowledged a key truth: most undocumented individuals are not seeking citizenship at all costs, but rather the dignity of living and working legally, contributing to society, paying taxes, being safe from deportation, and traveling to see family during the holidays.”
This is just an open admission the bill is intended to flood America with “workers” who aren’t here to join our nation, so they are here to work in the interest of a foreign country, not America, sending American dollars out of our country to the detriment of the American worker, whose jobs they have taken (at pennies to the dollar).
Amnesty Bill Will Allow Illegals To Keep Using U.S. As A Piggy Bank– thefederalist.com Source Link Excerpt:
On Tuesday, a group of Republicans joined Democrats to reintroduce the DIGNITY Act, which would provide mass amnesty to illegal aliens living in the country.
“The legislation acknowledges a key truth: most undocumented individuals are not seeking citizenship at all costs, but rather the dignity of living and working legally, contributing to society, paying taxes, being safe from deportation, and traveling to see family during the holidays,” a press release from Florida Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar, a so-called Republican, states.
By the bill’s own admission, “most” illegal aliens don’t want to become Americans in any real sense. They want the benefits of living here without the responsibilities of citizenship. They want access to our job market, our economy, public services, schools, hospitals — but none of the civic ties, assimilation or actual loyalty that citizens are expected to uphold, which is precisely the problem with mass migration.
Mass migration — whether legal or illegal — treats America not as a nation with a specific culture, language, heritage and people to be protected, but merely as a global economic opportunity zone for anyone who wants to cash in. There’s no concern for the cultural, social, or economic impacts on the communities forced to absorb this endless influx of illegal aliens. Which is precisely why Salazar’s statement — that “most” illegal immigrants don’t even seek citizenship — is so troubling.
Citizenship is a covenant that requires civic responsibility and obligations, which is what tethers the American people to one another and creates a sense of belonging that is worth fighting for. If citizenship is reduced to being merely an option rather than a requirement for participation and reaping the privileges of our republic, then civic responsibility will also erode. Citizenship binds people together through shared duties, loyalties and sacrifices. To live indefinitely in legal twilight — enjoying the protections, privileges, and prosperity of America without accepting the obligations of citizenship — is to hollow out the very meaning of belonging to a nation and reduces the nation down to a global marketplace.
Border Patrol Agents Ambushed By Gunman At Texas Facility– trendingpoliticsnews.com Source Link Excerpt:
A gunman opened fire on U.S. border control personnel on Monday, an ambush that officials say deliberately targeted them just for doing their jobs.
Officers at the Border Patrol annex facility in McAllen, Texas returned fire, killing the lone gunman in a shootout that proved how acrimonious the debate around illegal immigration has become since President Donald Trump took office.
Agents and local police were present during the shooting. While no one was killed, one member of the McAllen Police Department was struck with non-life-threatening injuries.
“This morning an individual opened fired at the entrance of the United States Border Patrol sector annex in McAllen, Texas. Both Border Patrol agents and local police helped neutralize the shooter,” the Department of Homeland Security said in a statement to Fox News. “This is an ongoing investigation led by the FBI. More information will be shared as it becomes available.”
Law enforcement officials say they believe the shooter deliberately targeted border control personnel. More details are set to be announced at a press conference later on Monday.
Federal agents killed a man after he fired at a Border Patrol facility in McAllen, Texas. The man had a rifle and was wearing tactical gear. One agent who returned fire was wounded but is in stable condition.
The shooter was identified as Ryan Louis Mosqueda. His motive is unknown, but investigators believe it was a targeted attack on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche said in a post on X that such attacks will not be tolerated.
“The Department [of Justice] has zero tolerance for assaults on federal officers or property and will bring the full weight of the law against those responsible,” Blanche said.
Border czar Tom Homan, who previously served as acting director of ICE, said on Fox News that attacks on ICE officers have increased since last year by 690% as of July 4. Homan cited Congress’s rhetoric as one reason for the increase in attacks.
“We have senators, we have Congresspeople, that compare ICE to the Nazis, compare ICE to racists, and it just continues. The public thinks, ‘well if a member of Congress can attack ICE, why can’t we,’” Homan said.
In 2024, from Jan. 21 to June 30, there were only 10 attacks on ICE agents, according to the Department of Homeland Security. In 2025, during that same period, ICE reported 79 attacks on agents. DHS said the increase is likely due to the speed at which the attacks occur, some of which go unaccounted for.
Law professor and political commentator Jonathan Turley recently weighed in on the Trump administration’s court battles over immigration policy.
After issuing a flurry of executive orders targeting illegal immigration, President Donald Trump was faced with a barrage of lawsuits coming from left-leaning organizations. The White House has had mixed results in the courts so far. But a recent Supreme Court ruling allowing the administration to continue deporting illegal immigrants to third countries (nations from which they do not come) has given it a substantial victory.
During an interview on “Fox and Friends” with host Lawrence B. Jones, Turley gave his analysis of the situation, saying the Supreme Court could give Trump another significant victory.
Jones brought up Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor’s dissenting opinion in the recent case. “Rather than allowing our lower court colleagues to manage this high-stakes litigation with the care and attention it plainly requires, this court now intervenes to grant the government emergency relief from an order it has repeatedly defied,” she said.
Jones pointed out that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) claims the deportees’ home countries will not accept them back. “Countries are not clamoring to get more felons to augment their home population,” he said.
Seattle Police Chief Promises To Shield Criminal Aliens Form ICE– www.louderwithcrowder.com Source Link Excerpt:
Earlier this week, the Los Angeles Chief of Police informed the woke City Council that he could not inform criminal aliens if ICE was on the way to detain them, as this would be considered obstruction of justice. However, the Seattle Chief of Police has yet to get this memo, despite taking an oath to uphold the law.
OMG. I seriously cannot handle the background music! That alone should be illegal — the level of cringe is enough to make me want to rip my hair out.
Seattle Police Chief Shon Barnes told City Council members Tuesday that he plans to stand up for the First Amendment rights of Seattle residents and expects to be jailed at some point for making that stand.
LOL. How pathetic. As if this even comes close to the left going after Trump over things that aren’t even real. He really thinks he’s as important as the President of the United States. Pathetic. Just absolutely pathetic.
If he’s arrested for obstructing federal immigration enforcement, that’s on him. And the fact that he tries to blame the right for it shows a level of arrogance no one was prepared for.
“I will do everything in my power to protect anyone in Seattle from anyone who comes to this city with the intention to hurt them or inhibit their First Amendment rights,” Barnes told Council members during a Public Safety Committee meeting that is part of his confirmation process. “What that means is at some point I will probably go to jail and be in prison because we have an administration that has threatened to jail politicians… and has threatened to jail a governor.”
No matter how much left-wing agitators want to riot to oppose enforcing immigration law, the American people still support Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers and deporting illegals.
That is the takeaway from a new Harvard/Harris poll taken in the middle of the Los Angeles anti-ICE riots that have been excused by Democrat leadership like city Mayor Karen Bass and Gov. Gavin Newsom.
In fact, 80 percent of respondents in the poll support a plan to deport criminal illegal aliens, which clocks in at the second most popular overall policy proposal (of 15) after lowering prescription drug prices for the elderly and low-income Americans. When asked more specifically if respondents favored what the Trump administration is doing to achieve the deportations, 74 percent agreed, including 57 percent of Democrats and 75 percent of independents.
The fifth most popular policy proposal is closing “the border with added security and policies that discourage illegal crossings,” with 67 percent support.
Illegal aliens have got to go. I know you know this, but for those who think these people should say—cough* liberals cough*–they’re now attacking federal officials. United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III of the Northern District of New York escaped a knife attack from a deranged illegal alien from El Salvador who chased Mr. Sarcone through Albany. He was able to seek refuge in a Hilton lobby, where the assailant, Saul Morales-Garcia, continued to shout at Sarcone but later retreated. The US attorney then called the police, later walking back onto the street to get Morales-Garcia’s attention; Sarcone feared he’d kill an innocent bystander if he were allowed to slip away.
Morales-Garcia then turned around and charged at Sarcone again. By then, the police had arrived, and order was brought to the situation—a knife was recovered at the scene. Police say Sarcone’s actions to keep Morales-Garcia occupied with him probably saved lives (via DOJ):
Tuesday June 17, after leaving his office in downtown Albany, United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III was the victim of a life-threatening incident. Saul Morales-Garcia, an illegal alien from El Salvador, who entered the United States in 2021 after a prior deportation, lunged at Sarcone while brandishing a knife and yelling aggressively in a foreign language Sarcone could not readily identify. Sarcone ran to the lobby of the Hilton Hotel and Morales-Garcia stopped and still shouting in a foreign language turned and started to walk away. Sarcone immediately contacted Albany County Sheriff Craig D. Apple Sr. Sarcone went back to the street and maintained a safe distance and yelled out to Garcia-Morales to gain his attention to prevent Morales-Garcia from disappearing as Sarcone believed an innocent person would be killed by Morales-Garcia. Before law enforcement arrived, Morales-Garcia charged at Sarcone again screaming and yelling at Sarcone in a foreign language while wielding the knife to make a slitting-the-throat gesture at Sarcone. Sarcone again ran to the lobby of the Hilton where again Morales-Garcia stopped, turned and began to walk away but was apprehended when Sheriff’s deputies arrived. Morales-Garcia was taken into custody and the knife was recovered.
Sarcone was physically unharmed, but emotionally rattled and stated, “I felt an obligation to the public as the chief Federal law enforcement officer in the district that includes the city of Albany. I feared for my life but I couldn’t let this individual harm and potentially kill others.”
Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple said: “U.S. Attorney John Sarcone’s selfless actions likely saved lives.”
Morales-Garcia was charged with attempted second-degree murder, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree, and menacing in the second degree and remanded without bail. He made an appearance in Albany City Court yesterday and an order of protection was issued for Sarcone. Morales-Garcia may also face federal charges; the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Homeland Security Investigations are involved in the ongoing investigation.
A multi-agency task force assisted Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with the arrest of a Guatemalan criminal alien during a targeted enforcement operation in Los Angeles. The criminal alien was deported from the United States after being sentenced to 36 months in prison for sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, officials stated.
U.S. Border Patrol Chief Michael Banks announced the arrest in Los Angeles of Guatemalan national Roberto Mateo. The Guatemalan man is illegally present in the United States after being deported from the U.S. in 2017. It is not clear when or where he reentered the U.S. but the federal task force located him in the sanctuary city of Los Angeles.
In a social media post, Chief Banks wrote, “He returned and thought he could hide in a ‘sanctuary city.’ We are here to send a clear message to criminals: We don’t care where you hide- We will locate, arrest, and remove you.”
Records indicate Mateo was found guilty in the United States in 2014 of sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14, Banks reported. The court sentenced him to 36 months in prison. An immigration judge ordered his removal and ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) officers deported him upon the completion of his sentence in 2017.
Despite the actions of anti-ICE protesters in Los Angeles, ERO officers also arrested Mab Khleb, a Cambodian national with a criminal history of lewd acts with a child, battery, and multiple drug offenses, ERO officials reported.
According to the data, nearly one million illegals have self-deported and gone back to their home countries where they belong since Donald Trump was elected to the White House for Trump 2.0.
You might remember way back in the neolithic age of 2012 that Mitt Romney was destroyed for saying that if the federal government tightened up immigration policies, many illegals would leave the U.S. voluntarily… i.e., would “self-deport.” Liberals blasted him for this claim.
Now that Donald Trump has finally been able put the idea into action, we find that Mitt– who was rarely right — actually hit that one on the head. So far, about a million illegals have gone home.
One way to track the program is by checking employment numbers. One financial wiz cited by the Wall Street Journal calculated a decline in the immigrant population of 773,000 in the first four months of Trump II.
The Washington Post claims “a million foreign-born workers have exited the workforce since March.” The Post frames this as “a sign of the weakening labor supply.” Yet the paper also notes, “Average hourly wages accelerated, rising by 0.4 percent over the month, to $36.24 in May, as earnings continue to beat inflation in a boost to workers’ spending power.”
In other words, with fewer illegal immigrants, businesses had to raise wages to attract workers.
U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration is considering significantly expanding its travel restrictions by potentially banning citizens of 36 additional countries from entering the United States, according to an internal State Department cable seen by Reuters.
Earlier this month, the Republican president signed a proclamation that banned the entry of citizens from 12 countries, saying the move was needed to protect the United States against “foreign terrorists” and other national security threats.
The directive was part of an immigration crackdown Trump launched this year at the start of his second term, which has included the deportation to El Salvador of hundreds of Venezuelans suspected of being gang members, as well as efforts to deny enrollments of some foreign students from U.S. universities and deport others.
In an internal diplomatic cable signed by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, the State Department outlined a dozen concerns about the countries in question and sought corrective action.
“The Department has identified 36 countries of concern that might be recommended for full or partial suspension of entry if they do not meet established benchmarks and requirements within 60 days,” the cable sent out over the weekend said.
