President Donald Trump is making historic deals during his Asia trip which coincides with the 2025 ASEAN Summit. Add to those historic trade deals a major peace deal between Cambodia and Thailand. The President facilitated this deal with Malaysia, who was also part of the peace agreement signing ceremony. Apparently, Trump told both countries that if they want good deals, they must end the conflict.
Trump stated, “On behalf of the U.S., I’m proud to help settle this conflict and forge a future for the region… Millions of people are alive today because of this peace treaty…”
President Trump is a big reason why Thailand and Cambodia are not in an all out ground war with each other.
On Sunday, President Trump attended the official peace agreement ceremony between Cambodia and Thailand held in Malaysia.
Trump is in the region to participate in the ASEAN Summit.
The 47th President’s visit to the ASEAN Summit marks the first time a U.S. President attended the summit since Barrack Obama did in 2016 however Trump did attend ASEAN meetings in 2017.
President Donald Trump and Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi signed an agreement on Tuesday that will secure a supply of rare earth minerals, a resource that is vital for the manufacturing of computer chips, AI, and everyday technology.
The agreement states that the US and Japan “intend to support the supply of raw and processed critical minerals and rare earths crucial to the domestic industries of the United States and Japan.” The countries “intend to capitalize on their respective existing mining and processing operations in critical minerals and heavy and light rare earths as well as new capacity.”
The countries intend to invest in mining and processing through government and private sector support, streamlining the permitting processes, and the creation of the US-Japan Critical Minerals Supply Security Rapid Response Group, among other points.
The US secretary of state, Marco Rubio, warned Israel on Wednesday against annexing the West Bank, saying steps taken by parliament and settler violence threatened a Gaza deal.
Israeli lawmakers voted on Wednesday to advance two bills on annexing the occupied West Bank, barely a week after President Donald Trump pushed through a deal aimed at ending a two-year Israeli offensive in the Gaza Strip that was retaliation for a Hamas attack.
“I think the president’s made clear that’s not something we can be supportive of right now,” Rubio said of annexation as he boarded his plane for a visit to Israel. Annexation moves are “threatening for the peace deal,” he told reporters.
SINGAPORE: Chinese state oil majors have suspended purchases of seaborne Russian oil after the United States imposed sanctions on Rosneft and Lukoil, Moscow’s two biggest oil companies, multiple trade sources said on Thursday (Oct 23).
The move comes as refiners in India, the largest buyer of seaborne Russian oil, are set to sharply cut their crude imports from Moscow to comply with the US sanctions imposed over the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine.
A sharp drop in oil demand from Russia’s two largest customers will put a strain on Moscow’s oil revenues and force the world’s top importers to seek alternative supplies and push up global prices.
Vice President JD Vance expressed alarm on Thursday about the Israeli legislature’s vote that would claim sovereignty over swaths of the West Bank, calling the move an “insult” to the Trump administration because it could threaten peace in the region.
Before departing for the United States at the end of his two-day trip to the Jewish state, Vance denounced the Knesset’s vote as a “very stupid political stunt.”
“I personally take some insult to it,” he said at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv. “The policy of the Trump administration is that the West Bank will not be annexed by Israel.”
It has been about six months since we last wrote about the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (SPR).
When President Donald Trump issued an executive order declaring a “national energy emergency,”’ he directed the Department of Energy (DOE) to prioritize refilling the SPR to its full capacity, which is approximately 714 million barrels.
At the time, the reserve held around 394 million barrels-about 55% of capacity-after historic drawdowns during the Biden administration. As a reminder, in April 2024, the Biden administration refused to purchase oil to refill its reserves.

Higher education in the United States enjoys broad public support, but Americans are concerned about its costs and some aspects of campus culture, according to a sweeping new national survey.
The study is the first report from the American Higher Education Barometer (AHEB), a collaboration among researchers at the University of Rochester, Northeastern University, Rutgers University, Harvard University, and others. It draws on more than 31,000 survey responses from all 50 states, making it one of the most comprehensive snapshots of public opinion on US colleges and universities in recent years.

Federal immigration agents carried out multiple arrests in Little Village and suburban Cicero Wednesday, resulting in a crash that drew outraged protesters to the scene. Two staffers for a city alderperson, both U.S. citizens, were among those arrested.
The agents were joined by Border Patrol Commander-at-Large Gregory Bovino, just days after a federal judge ordered him to sit for a deposition regarding the government’s handling of protesters during “Operation Midway Blitz,” President Donald Trump’s aggressive deportation campaign in the Chicago area.
After President Trump’s proclamation on H-1B Visas, American companies are now ending solicitation of foreign “experts” for American jobs. The proclamation created a $100,000 application fee for the sponsorship of a new H-1B application. The fee forces companies to no longer use the H-1B loophole to bring in people that would hardly be called “experts” for jobs that don’t require expertise. The fee is intended to filter out the cheat and so far, it’s working.
Walmart, other major companies retreat from sponsoring H-1Bs following Trump administration’s reforms
Last month, the Trump administration issued a proclamation targeting the abuse of the H-1B visa program. Though some confusion about the order ensued, the effects of this first attempt at reform are beginning to be felt at some major companies that have historically used H-1B workers, who hail primarily from India.
The proclamation, signed on September 19, 2025, was the first of what many hope to be multiple reforms of the H-1B visa program.
‘No current or future sponsorship is available.’

The move marks a new front in the U.S.–China standoff, shifting from tariffs to a broader confrontation over global trade rules and institutional influence, as both nations vie for dominance in the post-pandemic economy.

The U.S. increased pressure on Hamas on Tuesday to disarm in the next phase of an already fragile Gaza ceasefire as President Donald Trump pushed to cement an end to the devastating conflict.
In a visit to Israel, U.S. Vice President JD Vance said the ceasefire plan was going better than expected but warned the Palestinian militant group it would be obliterated if it did not cooperate, echoing a Trump threat earlier in the day of “fast, furious and brutal force”.
The United Nations’ top legal body, the International Court of Justice, on Wednesday gave an advisory opinion saying that Israel is under the obligation to ensure the basic needs of the civilian population in Gaza are met. The panel of 11 judges added Israel is forced to support relief efforts provided by the United Nations in the Gaza Strip and its entities, including UNRWA, the United NationsRelief and WorksAgency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
“As an occupying power, Israel is obliged to ensure the basic needs of the local population, including the supplies essential for their survival,” presiding judge Yuji Iwasawa said.
Donald Trump could “topple” a weakened Russia and Vladimir Putin but has “chosen not to” for a disturbing reason, a former staffer has sensationally claimed. Anthony Scaramucci raised millions of dollars for the US president’s first election campaign in 2016 before becoming his White House director of communications.
He was fired after just 11 days when he slammed colleagues in a conversation he wrongly thought was off the record – and has since turned his fire on Mr Trump to become one of his biggest critics. While he says there is “good Trump and bad Trump” and that he admires some aspects of the Republican’s character, Mr Scaramucci believes his ex-boss’s relationship with Putin is a cause for concern.

Without having a full 12 months, and while facing the first part of the first month when illegal aliens were still being allowed to freely walk into the country, Donald Trump is set to break the record for deportations in a single year. So far, they have documented 1.6 million people have self-deported while the government has deported 400,000 more. The government expects to deport 600,000 by the end of the year.
DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News Digital “Illegal aliens are hearing our message to leave now or face the consequence. Migrants are now even turning back before they reach our borders. In the face of a historic number of injunctions from activist judges, ICE, CBP, and the U.S. Coast Guard have made historic progress to carry out President Trump’s promise of arresting and deporting illegal aliens who have invaded our country.”
The Trump Administration says it is currently on track to “shatter” the record number of deportations by the end of the first year of President Trump’s second term, after reporting more than two million removals since January 20.
Fox’s Dana Perino broke down the numbers during a segement this morning.

President Donald Trump’s Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is using several tools to pressure illegal aliens to self-deport from the United States, including via their pocketbooks.
DHS officials revealed exclusively to Breitbart News that the agency has issued more than 31,600 fine notices to illegal aliens, totaling more than $9.6 billion.
“Our message is clear: If you’re in the country illegally, leave now or face the consequences,” DHS’s Tricia McLaughlin told Breitbart News.

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals cleared the way Monday for President Donald Trump to mobilize the National Guard to protect federal buildings in Portland.
A three-judge panel ruled 2-1 to reverse a federal district court ruling that prevented Trump from deploying National Guard troops in the state. The ruling allows the deployment to continue while the case moves forward in the courts.
The majority of the panel agreed with the Trump administration that the threat from protesters to federal facilities could not be addressed by existing law enforcement.
President Donald Trump and Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese signed a critical minerals agreement to counter China, which is holding tight to its own rare earth metals.
According to Bloomberg, Australia “holds the world’s fourth-largest deposits of rare earths.”

- Neodymium and praseodymium: needed for high-strength magnets for electric vehicles and wind turbines
- Dysprosium and terbium: needed for magnets used in high temperatures
- Lanthanum and cerium: used in catalytic converters and batteries
- Europium and gadolinium: needed for phosphors used in screens and medical imaging
- Samarium: used in high-temperature permanent magnets and lasers
ICE agents arrested a Chicago area police officer Thursday, accusing him of living illegally in the United States for over a decade.
According to the Department of Homeland Security, Hanover Park Police Officer Radule Bojovic overstayed a B-2 tourist visa that required him to depart the U.S. on March 31, 2015. “Over a decade later, he was still illegally in the U.S.,” DHS stated in a press release. Hanover Park is a suburb of Chicago with a population of over 37,000 people.
