Lieutenant Gov. Will Ainsworth is calling for an immediate end to a Biden administration program that is flooding Alabama towns with Haitian migrants.
Ainsworth posted a letter on X Wednesday addressed to U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas calling on him to halt the Cuba-Haiti-Nicaragua-Venezuela (CHNV) Parole Program.
“The [program], which was created and implemented by the Biden-Harris administration, is adversely affecting cities and towns across Alabama, and on behalf of the five million Alabamians I swore an oath to serve, this letter is my formal request that you end it immediately,” Ainsworth wrote.
He said the CHNV program has allowed roughly 520,000 illegal aliens to enter the United States, 80% of which have landed in Florida, giving “human traffickers and sponsors a direct pipeline to Alabama.”

“This program, which lacks any form of congressional authorization, has intentionally and illegally provided an expressway for wrongfully authorized individuals from these four nations to enter our country and unfairly compete for jobs and housing in our state,” Ainsworth said in his letter, adding that the “secretive and erratic handling” of the program has left many Alabamaians feeling “more fearful” and “less secure.”
