It’s something out of The Twilight Zone. As if the 2024 election couldn’t get any livelier, we have Robert F. Kennedy Jr. claiming that part of his brain was consumed by an invasive worm. Mr. Kennedy said that in 2010, he experienced memory loss and brain fog. Friends worried that it could be a brain tumor, as reported by The New York Times, with scans showing dark spots.

As it turns out, the worm had infected the son of the late attorney general, consumed some brain matter, and then died. Mr. Kennedy, who is running as an independent in the 2024 election, insists that if he’s elected, he’s totally fine even though his brain was infected with worms that feasted on him (via NYT):

President Biden appeared to be caught off guard when CNN’s Erin Burnett confronted him with a number of brutal economic data points.

Burnett began by pointing out that the economy has long topped the list of most important issues for voters as election day nears. “ It’s also true right now, Mr. President, that voters by a wide margin trust Trump more on the economy. They say that in polls,” Burnett said. “And part of the reason for that may be the numbers.”

The CNN host went on to list a number of statistics concerning the economy and President Biden’s handling of the issue.

The cost of buying a home in the United States is double what it was when you account for inflation is actually down since you took office. Economic growth last week, far short of expectations. Consumer confidence, maybe no surprise, is near a two-year low,” Burnett told the president. “With less than six months to go to election day, are you worried that you’re running out of time to turn that around?”

The top House Republicans with oversight of U.S. foreign and military affairs slammed the Biden administration on Wednesday for pausing a shipment to Israel of an estimated 3,000 heavy bombs.

Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) and Armed Services Committee Chairman Mike Rogers (R-Alabama) said the administration was weakening Israel’s position in the face of threats from Hamas in the Gaza Strip and Hezbollah in Lebanon.

“We are appalled that the administration paused crucial arms shipments to Israel,” the Republican House chairman wrote. “The administration must allow these arms shipments to move forward to uphold the United States’ commitment to Israel’s security and ensure that Israel can defend itself and defeat Hamas.”

The Biden administration confirmed in recent days that it had paused a shipment of thousands of heavy bombs to Israel. State Department Spokesperson Matthew Miller explained that the administration’s actions relate to concern over Israel’s military operation against Hamas in the southern Gazan city of Rafah and the worsening humanitarian crisis.

Jen Psaki, soulless Ginger and former spokesman for the Biden White House, said this week — on a cable news network — that Joe Biden should be doing fewer news interviews and more appearances on podcasts and things like Howard Stern and the shrill harpies on The View. On one hand, it’s pathetic that the President of the United States needs to be coddled and sheltered from reporters who may ask him unapproved questions. On the other hand, it’s good advice because this is Joe Biden.

A prime example was last night’s CNN interview with Erin Burnett. I ask that you watch this video twice. The first time, with the sound off. Look at Biden’s face.

Now watch Biden challenged on the economy and how bad he polls on it.

“Yeah, but people have more money in their pockets to pay the 30% more for groceries. I did that.”

Isn’t this becoming a tiring exercise, folks? Congressional Republicans and a healthy share of Democrats aren’t hopping on the jihad train. We’re a pro-Israel nation, or at least I thought we were, until Joe Biden decided to cut arms shipments to the Jewish state because no one will listen to his incoherent foreign policy. That’s another matter entirely, but support for Israel remains ironclad among Republicans. Code Pink and other pro-Hamas activists have been trolling Capitol Hill, capturing interactions with members of Congress regarding why, in their eyes, they’re supporting genocide in Gaza. It’s to get eyeballs on their advocacy operations. It’s what they do.

Not that it needs to be said, but there is no genocide. Hamas is a terrorist organization, and they’re getting what they deserve: death. So, when these pro-Hamas folks found Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-VA) waiting by the elevator, they pounced. The problem is Ms. Foxx, who is 80, still has a bite, and she quickly brushed off their talking points, essentially saying she had better things to do.

EXCLUSIVE — Americans for Prosperity is pumping money into battleground states to amplify President Joe Biden‘s problems with inflation and hold Democrats to account for their economic policies before this November’s general elections.

AFP, founded by billionaire industrialists Charles and David Koch, is spending “seven figures” from Thursday on digital and connected TV ads in five Senate races and 26 House contests, in addition to Washington, D.C. to appeal to the political chattering class, according to the libertarian-conservative nonprofit political advocacy group.

The 15- and 30-second spots contend Biden’s economic policies, known collectively as “Bidenomics,” are “failing American families,” AFP government affairs vice president Akash Chougule told the Washington Examiner. They will be broadcast in states and congressional districts of Democrats who backed Bidenomics.

A bill increasing penalties for falsely reporting a crime to law enforcement is heading to Alabama Gov. Kay Ivey’s desk.

Lawmakers in the Yellowhammer State passed the bill on Wednesday with a 32-0 vote in the Senate.

Many in the state called for harsher penalties for making a false police report after Carlee Russell faked her own kidnapping off Interstate 459 in the city of Hoover last summer – a case that drew national attention.

Republican Rep. Andy Ogles (R-TN) has introduced legislation that seeks to deport foreign students involved in pro-Hamas protests on America’s college campuses.

The bill seeks to revoke the student visas of Hamas-sympathizing foreign nationals and send them home.

In a statement about the bill, Ogles told Hamas-Sympathizing student visa holders to “go study abroad in Gaza.”

The legislation, which is titled the Study Abroad Act, was introduced by Ogles on Wednesday.

The bill would specifically “revoke the F, J, or M visa” of any alien who authorities have “arrested for rioting or unlawful protest.”

A new survey from the Pew Research Center reveals that the public increasingly views China as the most pressing foreign policy concern. According to the survey of 3,600 adults in early April, 49% of Americans now hold that “limiting the power and influence of China” should be a top priority in U.S. long-range foreign policy, which is up from 32% in 2018. Meanwhile, only 23% and 22% believe the same about “supporting Ukraine” and “supporting Israel,” respectively.

However, U.S. foreign policy continues to prioritize security in Europe and the Middle East over safeguarding our interests in Asia, which is the world’s most consequential economic region and home to America’s most potent geopolitical foe. The $95 billion aid package signed into law by President Joe Biden last week sent $61 billion to Ukraine, which brings the total U.S. commitment to a staggering $175 billion since Russia invaded in early 2022. The bill also granted $15 billion in military aid for Israel and $9 billion for humanitarian aid in Gaza while allocating a relatively paltry $8 billion to counter China’s dizzying military buildup, which, according to our own military intelligence, will prepare it for a conflict with the U.S. by 2027.

This disconnect between voter sentiment and expert-class behavior on foreign policy demands increased scrutiny, if only because the wisdom of the crowd is self-evident in this instance. Indeed, a Chinese takeover of Taiwan would be far more detrimental to America’s immediate and long-term interests than a setback in Europe or the Middle East — or even both. And so, efforts to repel such an action must be appropriately prioritized and funded.

While the media pretends they are the saviors of democracy, Americans are not so easily fooled. In fact, the majority of Americans find the mainstream media to be one of the biggest threats to freedom and democracy, according to a New York Times/Siena poll. And the evidence now shows that over half of independent voters believe Biden is a bigger threat to democracy than Trump.

That shouldn’t be surprising to anyone reading this but an MSNBC panel “can’t make sense of that.”

According to The Daily Caller:

An MSNBC panel grew bewildered at a poll indicating independent voters find President Joe Biden to be a bigger threat to democracy than former President Donald Trump.

A PBS Newshour/NPR/Marist poll found 53% of independents believe Biden’s second term will “weaken America,” while 42% believed Trump would further harm democracy.

“I find it shocking, honestly,” MSNBC political analyst Susan Del Percio said. “I can’t make sense of that number. I wish I could. I wish I could have some really great insight to it, but I don’t know if it’s an outlier or not, because the other numbers of independents are going in the right direction. So, that may be it.”

It’s amazing that Harvard is allowing it’s reputation to be destroyed by a small group of radicals.

FOX News reports:

Israeli, American flag display vandalized at Harvard University

A display of over one thousand Israeli and American flags was destroyed over the weekend at Harvard University.

The flags were planted by the local chapter of the Young America’s Foundation to honor the victims of the Oct. 7 terrorist attack that sparked the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas.

Shabbos Kestenbaum, a Jewish student who helped plant the flags with YAF, said he found the display vandalized coming home from a Sabbath service.

“We had almost all of our Israeli flags and our American flags either thrown all over the campus, thrown in the garbage, or ripped,” Kestenbaum said in a video showing the damaged flags. “All of our hostage posters were of course ripped and destroyed, so we’re gonna get new ones.”

An illegal immigrant from Venezuela who is accused of killing nursing student Laken Riley near the University of Georgia campus in February was hit with a “peeping Tom” charge Tuesday.

Fox News reported 26-year-old José Antonio Ibarra, who police say beat and suffocated 22-year-old Riley in Athens on Feb. 22, was indicted on 10 charges by a Georgia grand jury Tuesday afternoon.

The Venezuelan national had already been charged with murder, but the 10-count charging document also alleges Ibarra had “spied upon” a UGA staff member through a window on the day of Riley’s brutal killing.

A copy of the inducement obtained by Fox News and signed by District Attorney Deborah Gonzalez laid out the circumstances of the charge.

The indictment said Ibarra “did unlawfully go on the premises of the University of Georgia, University Housing Village Building ‘S’ … for the purpose of becoming a peeping tom.”

Has the U.S. government secretly retrieved exotic craft of “non-human” origin? Newly declassified documents, along with extraordinary legislation, illustrate how two successive Democratic Senate majority leaders appear to have believed so.

Notably, Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and the late Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.) were not alone in their focus on UFOs. The Democratic heavyweights received critical support and encouragement from a bipartisan group of high-profile senators over the years, including former fighter pilot and famed astronaut John Glenn (D-Ohio); Ted Stevens (R-Alaska), who observed a UFO as a  World War II pilot; Daniel Inouye (D-Hawaii), then-chairman of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Defense; 2008 GOP presidential nominee Sen. Trump posted on his social media platform complaining that his free speech rights have been taken away and that he could be put in prison for a long period of time.

Trump posted on Truth Social:

It is a really bad feeling to have your Constitutional Right to Free Speech, such a big part of life in our Country, so unfairly taken from you, especially when all of the sleazebags, lowlifes, and grifters that you oppose are allowed to say absolutely anything that they want. It is hard to sit back and listen to lies and false statements be made against you knowing that if you respond, even in the most modest fashion, you are told by a Corrupt and Highly Conflicted Judge that you will be PUT IN PRISON, maybe for a long period of time.

This Fascist mindset is all coming from D.C. It is a sophisticated hit job on Crooked Joe Biden’s Political Opponent, ME!. Judges Engoron and Kaplan, also of New York, are equally Corrupt, only in different ways. What these THUGS are doing is AN ATTACK ON THE REPUBLICAN PARTY, AND OUR ONCE GREAT NATION ITSELF. OUR FIRST AMENDMENT MUST STAND, FREE AND STRONG. “GIVE ME LIBERTY OR GIVE ME DEATH!’

Trump is going full martyr here, as he is afraid of being put in prison, but he also thinks it will help him politically. What he doesn’t seem to understand is that getting locked up won’t help him at all. Incarceration would only confirm for the majority of Americans who already hold the belief that Donald Trump is a criminal.

Former President Donald Trump repeated a bevy of inaccurate claims on the economy during an interview with WGAL-TV, a Lancaster, Pennsylvania, television station.

Here is a rundown.

Trump policies “created the greatest, strongest economy in the history of our country, probably in the history of the world.”

Economists have previously told PolitiFact that this is False.

The strongest evidence in favor of this assertion, at least in the U.S. context, is the unemployment rate. On Trump’s watch, the unemployment rate fell to levels untouched since the early 1950s.

However, the annual increases in gross domestic product — the sum of a country’s economic activity — were broadly similar under Trump to what they were during the final six years under his predecessor, Barack Obama. And GDP growth under Trump was well below that of previous presidents.

Six years after former President Donald Trump’s withdrawal from the Iran nuclear deal, the disastrous consequences of this decision are still adding up.

In addition to Iran being closer than ever to a nuclear weapons capability, now we must consider how the declining security situation in the Middle East has raised the stakes significantly. Trump promised a “better deal” but instead we got an increasingly costly blunder that may be impossible to fix.

To fully understand the enormity of Trump’s decision to leave the Iran deal, consider this: When the U.S. and Iran were complying with the deal, it was estimated that it would take Iran about one year to produce enough fissile material (in this case, weapons grade uranium) for a nuclear bomb (known as the “breakout” time). The states negotiating with Iran (the United States, Russia, China, Great Britain, France, and Germany) assessed that this would be enough time to respond to possible violations and prevent Iran from producing a bomb. Even if Iran were to acquire sufficient fissile material, it could still take another year for Iran to make a deliverable nuclear weapon. As of May, 2018, the deal was working and considered (by most) to be a great success.

As RedState previously reported, something not widely known about the viral “frat dudes save the American flag” moment at UNC-Chapel Hill from last Tuesday was the circumstances surrounding the UNC-CH American flag before the pro-Hamas agitators stormed the campus to take it down the first time around.

The flag they ripped down had actually been flying at half-staff in honor of the four law enforcement officers who were murdered – three U.S. marshals and one Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officer – after attempting to serve a warrant in Charlotte last Monday.

The reason it’s not widely known is that there was scant to no mainstream media coverage of their disrespect of a flag flying at half-staff. In fact, the same is true of their coverage of the frat bros who, outside of Fox News, did not get much attention from the national press.

The statements from Daniels during her testimony have led to widespread calls for a mistrial.

Daniels repeatedly blurted out inflammatory statements during her testimony that were not relevant to the case.

The defense argues that Daniels sought to make additional salacious allegations to paint Trump in a negative light before the jury.

The murder of University of Georgia nursing student Laken Riley shook the nation, and hammered home the real dangers to which the nation became exposed when the border was flung open on January 20th, 2021. The media has been reluctant to cover the story because it casts Democrats (generally) and President Joe Biden (specifically) in a very bad light. That reluctance continues to this day.

CBS Evening News was the only national network newscast to report on the indictment of the illegal alien that murdered Laken Riley. Here is that brief report in its entirety, as aired on Wednesday, May 8th, 2024:

NORAH O’DONNELL: The 26-year-old man accused of murdering Georgia nursing student Laken Riley has been indicted by a grand jury on ten new charges, including kidnapping and being a peeping Tom. The suspect, a migrant from Venezuela, is charged with killing the 22-year old while she was jogging on the University of Georgia campus in February.

In remarks to reporters after court May 6, Trump also singled out the actions of the Federal Election Commission and the U.S. attorney’s office in New York’s southern district.

“The FEC said they threw it away,” Trump said, referring to the Federal Elections Commission. “They said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding.’ Southern district didn’t bring the case. Nobody brought the case and then Alvin Bragg brought the case.”

The organization was a heavy-hitter during the Tea Party movement’s heyday, doing a lot of good work in training conservative political activists. I was a frequent speaker at FreedomWorks events, and helped train some of the new kids as well. The group’s annual BlogCon events were like CPAC but for just the people we wanted to hang out with (Stephen Green will back me up on this).

Judge Puts Trump on Notice for Jail Time After Finding Him in Contempt for Tenth Time

Judge Juan Merchan found former President Donald Trump in contempt of court for the tenth time, leading to a warning about possible jail time.

Trump faces 30 days at the most if he violates it again.

“Because the offensive statement was made prior to this Court’s Decision of April 30 and because the People are seeking only a monetary fine, the Court will, once again, fine Defendant, $1,000,” Merchan wrote in his filing.

Merchan continued: “However, because this is now the tenth time that this Court has found Defendant in criminal contempt, spanning three separate motions, it is apparent that monetary fines have not, and will not, suffice to deter Defendant from violating this Court’s lawful orders.”

Merchan the put Trump “on notice that if appropriate and warranted, future violations of its lawful orders will be punishable by incarceration.”

In court, Merchan admitted he worries about sending Trump to jail as he pointed to the Secret Service:

“The last thing I want to consider is jail,” Merchan said. “You are [the] former president and possibly the next president.”

“The magnitude of that decision is not lost on me,” Merchan said. “Your continued willful violation of the court’s order…constitutes a direct attack…and will not be allowed to continue…It is not allowed to continue.”

Anti-Trump ‘Hush Money’ Prosecutor Was Paid by DNC for ‘Political Consulting’

Bombshell new evidence has just emerged to reveal that one of the lead prosecutors on President Donald Trump’s “hush money” case in New York was paid by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) for “political consulting,” a financial paper trail has revealed.

Prosecutor Matthew Colangelo is working on the team for Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s get-Trump case.

Concerns were already raised that Colangelo has left a top position in Democrat President Joe Biden’s Department of Justice (DOJ) to help Bragg prosecute the “hush money” case.

Colangelo is one of the lead prosecutors on Democrat Bragg’s case, even delivering the opening statements in the unprecedented criminal trial of Trump.

Colangelo joined Bragg’s office in December 2022 after the resignations of Mark Pomerantz and Carey Dunne.

Pomerantz and Dunne were prosecutors who were investigating Trump.

The far-left site Jacobin is discovering the fact that Canada’s physician-assisted suicide law isn’t allowing terminally ill people to die with dignity so much as it is enabling the state to pressure tax liabilities to commit suicide to avoid being a burden on society.

The author of the piece, David Moscrop, decried “Canada boasts one of the world’s highest assisted-death rates, supposedly enabling the terminally ill to die with dignity. However, this suicide program increasingly resembles a dystopian replacement for care services, exchanging social welfare for euthanasia…

For want of a mattress, a man is dead. That’s the story, in sum, of a quadriplegic man who chose to end his life in January through medically assisted death. Normand Meunier’s story, as reported by the CBC, began with a visit to a Quebec hospital due to a respiratory virus. Meunier subsequently developed a painful bedsore after being left without access to a mattress to accommodate his needs. Thereafter, he applied to Canada’s Medical Assistance in Dying (MAiD) program.”

After TikTok’s CEO told the American congress he was no communist asset, nor was his company, a court filing by the CCP-owned company proves TikTok is, in fact, nothing but a CCP asset that operates only through CCP approval. In a court filing protesting the passage of a law that would ban the CCP-controlled app, TikTok admitted that due to the Chinese government’s direct control of its company, it couldn’t even legally sell the asset to a non-CCP entity even if they wanted to.

Michael Sobolik, a senior fellow at the American Foreign Policy Council, said of the filing, “For years, TikTok has asserted its legal and operational independence from the Chinese Communist Party. TikTok admitted as much in its federal petition against the law and said what every serious person has known for years: the Chinese Communist Party will not permit a divestment,” he continued. “That’s not a problem for the American people. That’s a problem for TikTok.”

TikTok and its parent company ByteDance filed a lawsuit against the United States on Tuesday claiming it is “unconstitutional” for the government to force the app to be sold by its Chinese owner or be outright banned in the U.S.

In addition to the expected — yet inadequate — arguments as to why TikTok should remain under Chinese ownership and available to American users on First Amendment grounds, the complaint makes a significant admission about how valuable TikTok is to the Chinese Communist Party.

On pages 18 and 19 of the complaint, TikTok’s attorneys argue that the app’s foundational algorithm can’t be passed off to another entity to remain available in the United States…because the Chinese Communist Party won’t allow it (emphasis added):

Third, the Chinese government has made clear that it would not permit a divestment of the recommendation engine that is a key to the success of TikTok in the United States. Like the United States, China regulates the export of certain technologies originating there. China’s export control rules cover “information processing technologies” such as “personal interactive data algorithms.” China’s official news agency has reported that under these rules, any sale of recommendation algorithms developed by engineers employed by ByteDance subsidiaries, including TikTok, would require a government license. China also enacted an additional export control law that “gives the Chinese government new policy tools and justifications to deny and impose terms on foreign commercial transactions.” China adopted these enhanced export control restrictions between August and October 2020, shortly after President Trump’s August 6, 2020 and August 14, 2020 executive orders targeting TikTok. By doing so, the Chinese government clearly signaled that it would assert its export control powers with respect to any attempt to sever TikTok’s operations from ByteDance, and that any severance would leave TikTok without access to the recommendation engine that has created a unique style and community that cannot be replicated on any other platform today.
