As previously covered by LifeSiteNews, at its 2024 nominating convention this month the GOP adopted a dramatically shortened platform drafted and promoted by Trump surrogates. It cut the party’s longstanding support for a constitutional amendment to ban abortion and a federal law extending equal protection to preborn babies in favor of leaving abortion policy to individual states. The platform also endorsed birth control (many common methods of which function as abortifacients) and embryo-destructive in vitro fertilization, and cut the old version’s opposition to same-sex “marriage” and the U.S. Supreme Court’s 2015 Obergefell ruling that forced all 50 states to recognize it.

“If you look at it, it has Donald Trump written all over it,” RNC co-chair and presidential daughter-in-law Lara Trump boasted when the full text was first released. “This is his platform.” Presidential son Eric Trump, Lara’s husband, has said that the changes are “reflective of my father and what he believes in,” and “my wife Lara who runs the RNC and what she believes in.”

“We’ve identified the four people in the White House who we believe were the primary parties involved in the cover-up, three staffers as well as the [White House] physician,” House Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., told The Daily Signal on Thursday, the day after Biden’s Oval Office address about not seeking reelection.

Lame duck President Joe Biden lashed out at House Speaker Mike Johnson on Monday after Johnson indicated Biden’s plan to change the rules for appointing Supreme Court justices has no chance of passing the House.

As noted in a video posted to X after Biden arrived in Austin, Texas, a reporter called out, “Mr. President, House Speaker Johnson says your Supreme Court reform is ‘dead on arrival.’ What is your reaction, sir?”

After being told a second time that Johnson made the comment, Biden said, “I think that’s what he is, adding moments later, “That he is — dead on arrival,” according to the White House official transcript.

President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday endorsed a bill that limits Supreme Court justices to 18-year terms and allows presidents to add a new justice every two years—effectively allowing the Biden administration to push out the Court’s conservative majority.

“I support a system in which the president would appoint a justice every two years to spend 18 years in active service on the Supreme Court,” Biden wrote in a Washington Post op-ed, endorsing the Supreme Court Biennial Appointments and Term Limits Act. Harris, the new presumptive Democratic nominee, also supported the legislation in a Monday statement.

The bill would effectively enable the executive branch to shift the Court from its 6-3 conservative majority to a 5-4 progressive majority by replacing Chief Justice John Roberts and Associate Justice Clarence Thomas with new appointees, the Dispatch‘s John McCormack reported. Thomas has served for 32 years, while Roberts hit the 18-year mark last September.

The bill, introduced by Senate Democrats in October, states that a replaced justice would take “senior status” and sit out of appellate jurisdiction cases but “retain the authority to hear original jurisdiction cases and to exercise all other powers of the office.” If passed, the legislation would, according to Biden, “reduce the chance that any single presidency radically alters the makeup of the Court for generations to come” and help “restore the public’s faith in the Supreme Court.”

“I have been saying for sometime now that we’re living in an elevated threat environment. Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey announced on Monday that he is filing a lawsuit against the Biden administration for documents related to the flying of illegal immigrants into the state.

“I am filing suit against Joe Biden and Kamala Harris for REFUSING to turn over documents about the flying of illegal immigrants into Missouri,” Bailey wrote. “We have reason to believe they are deliberately flying illegal aliens from the border into our cities. Not on my watch.

In May, Rep Mark Alford led a group of GOP Missouri lawmakers in the US House in sending a letter to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, demanding answers on the flying of illegal immigrants into the US.

The lawmakers raised concerns over the Biden administration’s Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela (CHNV) parole program, stating that since the program was launched in January 2023, over 400,000 illegal immigrants have been flown into the US.

The letter noted that two people were flown into Missouri in 2023, adding “we have grave concerns about bringing unvetted, and otherwise inadmissible illegal aliens into the United States.” The lawmakers demanded to know what procedures are in place to track illegal immigrants brought in through the program, and how many other people, if any, were flown into Missouri.

America First Legal is suing CrowdStrike over alleged racial and sexual discrimination in its diversity, equity, and inclusion practices.

The group filed a federal civil rights complaint with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for “allegedly limiting, segregating, and classifying white and male employees for trainings and promotions in the name of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.”

A press release from the group pointed out nine employee resource groups with the company solely based on racial, sexual, and sexual orientation categories.

“CrowdStrike’s DEI leader specifically referenced efforts to use race as a basis for advancement in employment,” America First Legal Vice President Dan Epstein said in a statement. “Such a statement, in combination with CrowdStrike’s demonstrated intent to use racial balancing in hiring as well as its own public financial disclosures emphasizing its values in favor of racial discrimination over the true diversity of thought and opinion, creates a substantial likelihood of unlawful activity.”

A recent audit by the United States Treasury Department’s inspector general (IG) found that multiple employees of the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) collectively owe around $50 million in back taxes.

According to the Daily Wire, the amount is owed by a total of over 3,800 individual employees, 2,000 of which have not yet established payment plans. At least 50 of these employees have worked for the IRS for five years or more.

The Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration conducted the audit by reviewing 1,068 different cases where the IRS had taken disciplinary action against employees for tax-related offenses. The IG found that in most cases, the agency would hardly punish its own employees.

“76 employees were suspended. Most of these cases involved willful … cases resulting in the employee being suspended for less than 14 days,” the IG report reveals.

Out of 70 different cases where an IRS employee was found to have  “willfully” engaged in tax misconduct between October of 2021 and April of 2023, only 20 were actually fired. This was in direct contradiction with the law which states that all IRS employees who are found guilty of such offenses must be fired; the only thing that can prevent such terminations is direct intervention by the IRS commissioner himself.

 Reports emerged on X on Monday indicating that Mark Zucerkberg’s Facebook had been censoring photos of Donald Trump, fist raised, face bloodied, after the assassination attempt against him. The photos were censored by third-party fact checkers who claimed that the photo had been altered. Facebook since admitted to censoring the photos in error.

The iconic photo, snapped by a photographer for the Associated Press, had been viral on social media before a copy of the photo was edited and circulated, which showed, erroneously, that Secret Service agents were “smiling as they surround[ed] him after the shooting.” While that photo was censored, in the aftermath, the original was censored as well.

After backlash, Meta admitted that the warning was incorrectly applied and was meant only to apply to the altered image showing Secret Service agents smiling. The fact checkers, and their AI software, had determined that all images that resembled the AP original photo should be removed.

“This was an error. This fact check was initially applied to a doctored photo showing the secret service agents smiling, and in some cases our systems incorrectly applied that fact check to the real photo. This has been fixed and we apologize for the mistake,” communications director for Facebook Dani Lever said.

FBI Director Christopher Wray revealed in a House Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday that investigators currently believe that Trump would-be assassin Thomas Matthew Crooks was live streaming footage taken by a drone of the Butler, Pennsylvania rally site ahead of the shooting.

Wray confirmed to lawmakers that a drone that Crooks was believed to have used was recovered in his vehicle, and said that that around 4 pm on the day of the shooting, “the shooter was flying the drone around the area” of the rally, not over the stage but an estimated 200 yards away.

 

“We think but we do not know so again, this is one of these things that’s qualified because of our ongoing review, that he was live streaming, you know viewing the footage from that again about 11 minutes and around the 3:50, 4 o’clock pm range.”

Wray also spoke on the explosive devices found in Crooks’ car and residence, calling tem “relatively crude devices” that had the ability to be remotely detonated. Wray said that two receivers were found in Crooks’ for the two explosive devices discovered there, and a transmitter was found with Crooks’ body. Because of the on-off position of the receivers, Wray said that it currently appears to investigators like the devices would not have detonated if Crooks had tried, but “that doesn’t mean the explosives weren’t dangerous.”

A few days after the attempted assassination of President Donald Trump, a professor at Morgan State University in Maryland wrote an op-ed stating that she and other Black Americans are justified in wishing that the attempt to kill the “evil” Trump had been successful.

In her article titled “‘Is He Dead?’ Why Black People Are Not Grieving The Failed Assassination Of Donald Trump,” Dr. Stacey Patton, a professor at Morgan State University, compares the attempt on President Trump’s life to two failed assassination attempts against Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and she pushes the ‘Trump is Hitler’ narrative.

Patton argues that the world would have been better off if the assassination attempt had succeeded.

“Is it immoral to yearn for the death of another human being? Of course, it is, in most cases,” she wrote.

“But when we look back upon the past and see the acrid smoke of crematoriums and mountains of bodies, can you blame people for weighing the value of a single life against the salvation of millions?”

Patton employs this twisted reasoning to suggest that the July 13th attempt on President Trump’s life is comparable to killing Hitler. She argues that, as a result, Black Americans might wish for Trump’s death due to their desire to see ‘the death of evil.’

“Violence is America’s main currency and Donald Trump has served as the spark for the official rebirth of white supremacy,” she wrote.

“Black people are not reveling in violence. We are wishing for the death of evil. We are longing for the prevention of evil. For a moment on Saturday, we held our collective breath. We were suspended in uncertainty, caught between desperation and hope, asking: What if?”

Kyle Seraphin is a recovering FBI agent and whistleblower — and he has a theory as to what might have really driven Thomas Crooks, Trump’s would-be assassin, to pull the trigger on July 13.

“There is a thing that we refer to as the ‘playbook,’” Seraphin tells Sara Gonzales of “Sara Gonzales Unfiltered.”

“The ‘playbook’ essentially is this: ‘I found you online, and you’ve got a lot of really dumb ideas, and some of them are violent. And I’m going to encourage all of those dumb and violent ideas. I am either a CHS, a confidential human informant for the FBI, or what’s called a UCE, I’m an online undercover employee,’” Seraphin explains.

“’We’re going to encourage you to do all your dumbest ideas. And not only that, but we’re also going to help you do it for the amount of money that you have. Oh you need a thermal sight belt fed weapon and you only have $940? Luckily for you my friend, $88.99 today only, my buddy will help you get it. He’s a weapons expert,’” Seraphin says, noting that the gun would likely be a dud.

As the agents continue to groom the subject, the subject begins to solidify his plan.

“That person says, ‘You know what, I’ve been told to do a terrorism, and I’ve been told to do a terrorism, I’m going to do the terrorism. But I’m not going to wait for my new friend who’s going to give me a thing, I’m just going to steal my dad’s rifle ‘cause it’s right there,’” he says.

“‘So, I didn’t wait for the neutered gun that the government safed and sent me with no firing pin or a shaved-down firing pin,’” Seraphin says. “Now you got a live gun in the situation that should have otherwise been a smooth takedown. I’ve seen these takedowns. I’ve seen a lot of them.”

New video released over the weekend by a man who was near the AGR building during the July 13 rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, shows police responding to what they believed was a threat on the roof of the building several minutes before the would-be assassin, 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, opened fire at President Trump.

Two minutes before Crooks fired his first shot, an officer was seen with his handgun drawn, monitoring the roof from the opposite side of where Crooks was ultimately located.

The man who posted the videos, self-identified as Dave, Dayve Stewart or realDJStew724, posted them to X Twitter and YouTube after getting his phone back from the FBI, he said.

A short video posted Saturday to X has the moment when Crooks opened fire, through the sniper kill shot and the police reaction afterward.

Gnawing away at the official version of events as told by former Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle, Republican Sen. Josh Hawley of Missouri said the rooftop used by Thomas Matthew Crooks to shoot former President Donald Trump was left unguarded despite plans to have officers stationed there.

“Whistleblowers tell me law enforcement personnel were in fact STATIONED to the roof the day of the Trump rally, but abandoned it, citing the heat,” Hawley posted on X.

In a letter to Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, Hawley said a whistleblower has come to him with a tale of neglect of duty concerning the roof of the American Glass Research building.

“Contrary to Director Cheatle’s public statements about the ‘safety’ of the sloped roof of American Glass Research Building 6, one whistleblower with direct knowledge of Secret Service planning for the event alleges that there was supposed to be a law enforcement presence on the roof that day,” Hawley wrote.
