A document from the Vatican is recommending churches do not use the phrase “Mediatrix of ALL Graces,” claiming Revelation does not validate the term and it puts on “limits that do not favor a correct understanding of Mary’s unique place.  Catholics argue the OPPOSITE is true, it is the Vatican LIMITING Mary’s powers.

Catholics fighting back site an encyclical on the Immaculate Conception by Pope Pius IX in 1849 that claimed, “God has committed to Mary the treasury of all good things, in order that everyone may know that through her are obtained every hope, every grace, and all salvation. For this is His will, that we obtain everything through Mary.”

Protestants would dispute both the papal and the traditional Catholic claims on the nature of Mary, citing, Luke 11:27-28, “As he said these things, a woman in the crowd raised her voice and said to him, ‘Blessed is the womb that bore you, and the breasts at which you nursed!’ But he said, ‘Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and keep it!’”

Yesterday LifeSiteNews reported that a new document from the Vatican has discouraged the use of “Mediatrix of All Graces” as a title for the Blessed Virgin Mary.

The document suggests that the title lacks solid grounding in Revelation and carries “limits that do not favor a correct understanding of Mary’s unique place.”

On the contrary, the doctrine that all graces come to us through the mediation of the Blessed Virgin has been taught many times by the Successors of St Peter.

The FCC is considering abolishing what has been called the third rail in broadcasting politics, the national ownership cap. This cap is set at 39%, which means station owners cannot own more than 39% of the affiliates of a national broadcaster’s network.

The move is being considered to allow, theoretically, conservative affiliate owners a chance to push back against anti-American broadcasting, with the Jimmy Kimmel kerfuffle being the foil for the theoretical action.

Blurb:

President Donald J. Trump continues to shake Washington to its core, highlighting and reforming issues that have been on the back burner for decades. Trump’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) — led by Brendan Carr, Anna Gomez, and Olivia Trusty — is no exception, publicly raising the specter of abolishing the FCC’s national ownership cap.

For the media establishment, this is like touching the third rail. For generations, from Dan Rather to Jimmy Kimmel, Americans have been force-fed a steady diet of liberalism from the big three television channels.

Ending the ownership cap would allow conservative local broadcasters to compete with the likes of networks ABC and force broadcasts to actually reflect the country’s values.

Senator Joni Ernst (R-IA) reminded Americans on the “Alex Marlow” show that due to the ongoing shutdown she put at the feet of Democrats, American troops would not be paid were it not for Donald Trump.

She said, “My daughter is an active-duty servicemember, her husband is also an active-duty servicemember. So, there’s a two-member family that would not be receiving pay if President Donald Trump hadn’t cobbled together the pennies to pay our servicemembers.”

Federal prosecutors have opened an investigation into senior leaders of the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation over allegations that tens of millions of dollars raised during the 2020 protests were mishandled, according to two sources who spoke with Fox News.

The Justice Department probe, led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, is reportedly examining whether foundation leaders or affiliated organizations misused charitable contributions collected in the wake of George Floyd’s death. The group brought in over $90 million during that period.

The American College of Physicians felt compelled to take a stand in defense of the patient over the organ donor. The organization wrote a paper excoriating doctors to remember their primary interest should be first, foremost, and lastly, that of the patient.

The paper stated, “It is unethical, before the declaration of death, to use any treatments or interventions aimed at preserving organs or assessing their suitability for donation that may harm the still-living patient by causing pain, causing traumatic injury, or shortening the patient’s life.”

Patents have been filed for an innovative silicon solar cell coating that could increase efficiency, reduce heat, and extend panel lifetimes using singlet fission, according to pv magazine.

Researchers from the University of New South Wales discovered that, when used as a dye coating, the photostable dipyrrolonaphthyridinedione (DPND) molecule can increase the energy conversion efficiency of silicon photovoltaic cells, with potential for large-scale deployment.

“Crucially, we’ve developed a practical pathway to higher output silicon solar cells, without the cost and complexity of tandems, that industry can now trial,” said UNSW professor Ekins-Daukes, per pv magazine.

Conservative commentator and Dilbert cartoon creator Scott Adams made an urgent plea to President Trump to possibly save his life. Adams is fighting Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer. Early Sunday morning, Adams had made a public appeal to President Trump on X, “to help save my life.”

He explained that he needed expedited access to a new FDA-approved cancer treatment called Pluvicto, claiming his healthcare provider, Kaiser Permanente of Northern California, had delayed scheduling the infusion even as his health was quickly deteriorating.

Adams, a vocal supporter of the president, provided an update on his case during his Rumble livestream, “Real Coffee With Scott Adams,” Monday morning.

After years of delays, Yale University’s law school has finally gotten around to hang the portrait of one of its most illustrious alumni, Justice Clarence Thomas.

Conservative Buckley Institute Executive Director Lauren Noble echoed the sentiment of many conservatives, saying, “It is refreshing to see Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas’ portrait finally take its place alongside other prominent Yale alumni after 6 years of neglect. It is encouraging to see such an outstanding figure finally receive some recognition from his alma mater for all he has accomplished. Whoever made the decision to buck the orthodoxy at Yale Law School and at long last put the portrait up deserves credit for doing so.”

Five years ago, the teen magazine that early on leaned into the toxic woke message had to stop printing. At the time, the woke defenders argued it didn’t go woke and broke, it’s just a victim of digital overcoming print media. Now, Teen Vogue is effectively being folded into Vogue as a section of the publication it originally came from.

Blurb:

Hey y’all, welcome to a special edition of Unfit to Print.

R.I.P. TEEN VOGUE’S POLITICS SECTION

Teen Vogue is on death’s doorstep. Five years after the print magazine was discontinued, parent company Condé Nast announced Monday that Teen Vogue would be absorbed by sister publication Vogue and would focus on topics including “career development and leadership,” the New York Times reported

“I was laid off from Teen Vogue today along with multiple other staffers on other sections, and today is my last day,” a Teen Vogue politics reporter with “they/them” pronouns said on X. “Certainly more to come from me when the dust has settled more, but to my knowledge, after today, there will be no politics staffers at Teen Vogue.”

Teen Vogue made a deliberate pivot during the era of Trump to focus on progressive politics and “female empowerment” while moving away from fashion, beauty, and pop culture. The shakeup gained national attention when journalist Lauren Duca published an article accusing President Donald Trump of “gaslighting” America and had a contentious interview with then-Fox News host Tucker Carlson, which we covered previously on this Substack.

In the years following, Teen Vogue glorified radical progressive politics, leaning into or perhaps driving the increasing gender-based political divide among young voters. The publication consistently decentered women in favor of transgender and LGBTQ+ activism (see this profile of Elon Musk’s trans “daughter”). When women were the focus, it was to promote limitless abortion, Girl Bossing by violently fighting “fascism,” rejecting one’s family over political disagreements, sexual promiscuity, and steering women away from femininity and healthy long-term relationships.

U.S. actress Jennifer Lawrence has long been one of the loudest pro-woke-supporting A-list celebrities in the culture war over the last 10 plus years. Now, Lawrence is prepared to surrender the culture war, recognizing that the woke brand is as toxic as the Nazi brand now.

The actress told the NY Times, “I don’t really know if I should [speak out against Trump now. During the first Trump administration, I felt like I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off… we’ve learned, election after election, celebrities do not make a difference whatsoever on who people vote for. So then what am I doing? I’m just sharing my opinion on something that’s going to add fuel to a fire that’s ripping the country apart.”

Left-wing actress Jennifer Lawrence — who’s in the waning years of her A-list career — said she will no longer rant about President Donald Trump because she finally realizes the public doesn’t care about celebrity political opinions.

During the president’s first term, Lawrence — who suffered from pathological Trump Derangement Syndrome — railed against him at every turn.

“I don’t really know if I should [speak out against Trump now],” she told the New York Times.

After the strategically vital city El-Fasher recently fell following an 18-month siege, the paramilitary groups that took over are being accused of an attempted genocide. Allies of the Sudanese Army, the “Joint Forces,” stated the rebels  “committed heinous crimes against innocent civilians in the city of El-Fasher, where more than 2,000 unarmed citizens were executed and killed on Oct 26 and Oct 27, most of them women, children and the elderly”.

Blurb:

Pro-democracy activists, meanwhile, said El-Fasher residents had endured “the worst forms of violence and ethnic cleansing” since the RSF claimed control.

A video released by local activists and authenticated by AFP shows a fighter known for executing civilians in RSF-controlled areas shooting a group of unarmed civilians sitting on the ground at point-blank range.

The paramilitaries have a track record of atrocities, having killed as many as 15,000 civilians from non-Arab groups in the West Darfur capital of El-Geneina.

The army, which has been fighting the RSF since April 2023, has also been accused of war crimes.

Now that the DNC has effectively passed more late term abortion laws in blue states, with purple states like PA threatening to join the list, baby murder centers have to develop a new way to kill much larger children than their previous methods specialized in. One new technique is to effectively shoot poison into the baby’s heart, among other equally barbaric “pro-choice” techniques.

Secular Pro-Life’s Monica Snyder described the new late-term reality, stating “These very late abortion procedures usually involve injecting poison into the child’s heart, or sometimes they’ll cut the umbilical cord and wait for the baby to bleed out, and then they’ll induce a stillbirth delivery, or sometimes they’ll bring the baby out in pieces.”

A Harvard degree these days is considered, in growing circles, a liability, not an asset, given the university’s hard left lurch towards insurrection against the republic. But now, a new report has exposed Harvard’s grading system.  Even the students themselves acknowledge what the data now shows, Harvard’s grades are fake. College professors pass students more to fulfill DEI dreams than to train true experts for a shared, American society. Harvard’s own report condemns them.

In the report, faculty members themselves said there’s been “a radical shift from providing critical feedback to providing emotional support.” More than 60% of the grades awarded are As, for instance, and hardly anyone ever fails. In grading, some faculty allege “[T]he College has been exhorting faculty to remember that some students arrive less prepared for college …”

In it, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions Amanda Claybaugh says flatly that the university is “failing to perform key functions of grading.”

The anti-science, DNC-serving (allegedly) site Phys.org is raising alarms about the rise of “far right” communities in rural areas that are in some way, shape, or form, self-sustaining. The article “Far right extremists are setting up rural enclaves around the world” warns, “Close-knit networks and insular communities, which can characterize these projects, have been shown to play a role in deep ideological entrenchment. This can mean the ideology of these communities can become deeply ingrained within its members.”

MIA would not endorse any completely self-isolating and violence-justifying communities; however, the overwhelming majority of these communities are a threat to phys.org because self-sustainability is immunity from the party’s favorite soft power weapon, economic assassination. The fact that they are noticing meaning the “movement” is further along than we had hoped it was.

… Close-knit networks and insular communities, which can characterize these projects, have been shown to play a role in deep ideological entrenchment. This can mean the ideology of these communities can become deeply ingrained within its members. These far-right initiatives are often rooted in a worldview outlining the illegitimacy of the state or the promotion of violence against the state or other identities. This means the ideological entrenchment process that can accompany these far-right rural enclaves poses an extremist challenge. They can serve to create a cohort of highly committed members whose belief system is one characterized by hate. This can also be amplified in offline echo chambers. At the same time, rural-based extremist enclaves have the potential to diffuse beyond their specific communities into the broader environment. Surveys across democracies underscore the depth of rural disenchantment, where  have often expressed a feeling of being “left behind.” They are also more likely to express concerns that  do not understand local realities.

President Donald Trump openly used the full power of the United States to help self-described anarcho-capitalist Javier Milei win a surprising mid-term election that might well have saved Milei’s administration. Trump promised an essential bail-out of a Milei-led cryptocurrency bust, along with continued economic support of Argentina, but only if Milei won. Milei was allegedly behind the polls at the time.

Milei’s party managed to beat their leftist rivals in voting 40% to 31%. While his party is still not in majorities in either chamber, the House and Senate, Milei is now vote-of-confidence proof, and  his veto now has staying power since the left no longer has enough votes to override it. This means Milei’s agenda might still struggle to get fully implemented, but the left’s legislative counter is now effectively dead.

Argentina’s libertarian President Javier Milei won decisive victories in midterm elections Sunday, clinching a crucial vote of confidence that strengthens his ability to carry out his radical free-market experiment — with billions of dollars in backing from the Trump administration.

In the election widely seen as a referendum on self-described “anarcho-capitalist” Milei’s past two years in office, which have included corruption scandals and the scrapping of tens of thousands of public jobs, his right-wing La Libertad Avanza party won more than 40% of the votes, compared with 31% for the left-leaning populist opposition movement, known as Peronism, exceeding analysts’ projections.

Milei, a key ideological ally of President Trump, said his party and allied blocs picked up 14 seats in the Senate and 64 in the lower house of Congress on Sunday, three seats short of a congressional majority.

Justice Barbara Young of the British Columbia Supreme Court has ruled that the Cowichan Tribe now has “aboriginal title” to the land. The ruling happened in August, though it received little attention. Now, residents are sounding the alarm, and even legal experts are unsure if this mean people will lose their homes should the tribe simply choose to take them.

A Blaze article quotes Doug Newman, a University of Saskatchewan Law Professor, He said of the ruling, “If the law from this decision were maintained, it would be possible for them to pursue a claim against private residents too. Private residents might have some different defenses, but we don’t know how that plays out… The fact I can’t give you an answer [about whether residents could lose their homes] with any certainty is maybe the most concerning part. A new type of biochemistry developed by Carolyn Bertozzi could enable scientists to observe the complex processes of organisms in real time, a feat not yet possible. Bertozzi calls the process “biorthogonal” click chemistry because it would not interfere with the cell’s biological processes. One of the most promising uses of click chemistry will be in accelerating the process of “drug discovery,” which means what it sounds like.

Since the process allows scientists to study organisms in real time, it will lead in one way to more discoveries of root causes of ailments drugs can effectively mitigate. It will also lead to more effective drugs and more effective delivery systems as click chemistry can also be used to study the effects of drugs on organisms in real time like science never could before.

Blurb:

In 2007, scientists published a paper that laid out a recipe for a new type of biochemistry. The method would allow scientists to see what was happening in organisms in real time.

Sharpless had laid out a vision for “click chemistry” — a way to rapidly build complex biological molecules by snapping smaller subunits together…

Her process involved incorporating a carbohydrate molecule modified with azide into glycans in living cells. When they added a ring-shaped alkyne molecule that was bound to a green fluorescent protein, the azide and alkyne clicked together and the glowing green protein revealed where the glycans were in the cell.

Bertozzi dubbed the process “bioorthogonal” click chemistry — so named because it would be orthogonal to — that is, would not interfere with — the biological processes occurring in the cell. Her work has proved crucial in understanding how small molecules move through living cells. It has been used to track glycans in zebrafish embryos, to see how cancer cells mark themselves safe from immune attack using the sugar molecules, and to develop radioactive “tracers” for biomedical imaging. And click chemistry more broadly has supercharged the process of drug discovery.

In 2022, Sharpless, Meldal and Bertozzi earned the Nobel Prize in chemistry for their work on click chemistry.

Xiaomeng Fang, assistant professor in the Wilson College of Textiles exclaimed, “Traditionally, magnetic actuators use the kinds of small rigid magnets you might put on your refrigerator. You place those magnets on the surface of the soft robot, and they would make it move. With this technique, we can print a thin film which we can place directly onto the important parts of the origami robot without reducing its surface area much.”

A new 3D printing technique can create paper-thin “magnetic muscles,” which can be applied to origami structures to make them move.

By infusing rubber-like elastomers with materials called ferromagnetic particles, researchers at North Carolina State University 3D printed a thin magnetic film which can be applied to origami structures. When exposed to magnetism, the films acted as actuators which caused the system to move, without interfering with the origami structure’s motion.

This type of soft magnet is unique in how little space it takes up, says Xiaomeng Fang, assistant professor in the Wilson College of Textiles and lead author of a paper on the technique.
