Piker appeared at the Golden Gate Theatre in San Francisco on August 21 as part of the opening night of the West Coast run of Fear&Live. The live show featured Piker alongside fellow Fear& hosts Will Neff, QTCinderella, and Austin Show.

During the performance, Piker sang “We Are Charlie Kirk,” a presumably AI-generated gospel-style song “honoring” the slain Turning Point USA founder. The song began circulating following Kirk’s assassination and has subsequently been used by left-wing users to mock Kirk and his supporters.

Video from the event showed Piker singing along as the song’s lyrics appeared on the screen in a karaoke-style format. While singing, Piker was dressed in an outfit resembling a Maoist-style uniform.

Piker also posted a photograph from the event with the caption, “carried the flame tn,” a reference to a lyric from the song.

Rep. Francesca Hong (WI-76), the “old white people” hating socialist, was widely expected to win the Badger State Democratic gubernatorial primary, but in a neck-and-neck finish earlier this August, Milwaukee County Executive David Crowley pulled out the win.

Good news, right? Sanity prevailed, and the more “moderate” candidate was chosen. Except, not so much. Turns out Crowley is a far-left extremist too, just maybe slightly less so than Hong.

Meanwhile, Crowley has also shared ground with Hong on taxing millionaires and ambitious carbon-neutrality goals.

“Milwaukee County is known for its beer and brats, but unfortunately it’s also the epicenter of David Crowley’s budgetary boondoggles. Under Crowley’s failed leadership, residents received their largest property tax hike in 15 years, paid higher sales taxes for everyday purchases, and saw millions of their hard-earned tax dollars set up to finance Crowley’s Green New Deal ‘Net Zero’ scam for the county,” Wisconsin native and Republican consultant Mark Bednar told Fox News Digital.

On Tuesday, Canadian officials announced funding to back businesses, workers, and industries, as they implement dollar-for-dollar counter-tariffs on the US in response to the Trump administration’s newly imposed 50 percent tariffs on roughly $20 billion worth of Canadian imports.

Senior members of Canada’s government announced a support package worth $7.5 billion Canadian dollars, or about $5.4 billion US, including $3 million in non-repayable loans for every small business and a further $2 million in interest-free loans—even for businesses only indirectly affected by tariffs.

Small and medium-sized businesses directly affected will be able to apply for a further $5 million through Canada’s business development bank, and the Canadian government has set aside $2 billion for medium-sized and large firms, more than half a billion dollars for retraining workers whose industries are affected by tariffs, and a one-year extension on temporary employment insurance benefits Canada already issued in response to the start of Trump’s trade war with Canada last year.

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced Tuesday that the agency, alongside the White House Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, has uncovered more than $13 billion in suspected fraud since beginning its work in March.

Federal contractors are responsible for the suspected fraud. They were tracked down by GSA and the task force through governmentwide contracting data, public reporting and inspector general enforcement information, according to a press release.

“Let this serve as a warning to any bad actors thinking of stealing from the federal government: we will catch you, we will work with law enforcement to ensure your arrest, and we will do everything in our power to help recover every dollar you stole,” GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst said in a statement.

On August 24, controversial Democrat Senate candidate Abdul el-Sayed boldly accepted an invitation to the Fox News show Jesse Watters Primetime. It oozed confidence, but whether it was smart or strategic to play the Artful Dodger is a very different question.

In his newsletter, CNN media analyst Brian Stelter gushed over el-Sayed generating “lots of buzz and clippable content” and how he “showed a keen understanding of Fox’s outrage machine.” This is always amusing, as if Stelter doesn’t think CNN can be characterized as operating an “outrage machine” against Trump.

Then Stelter mischaracterized the central mishap of the interview. El-Sayed was credited for “refusing to take the bait when Watters asked whether it’s okay ‘for a parent to slash his kid’s ding-a-ling off’ or whether trans athletes should compete in women’s sports. Each time, he redirected toward gas and grocery prices, the war in Iran, and health care.”

That’s not what happened. When Watters pressed him on genital amputations for children, he insisted this decision is between a doctor and a patient, and the government should not get involved – which is a bizarre position when you’re pushing for a “Medicare for All” scheme where the government controls the health care system.

In a discussion with PragerU Executive Director Allen Estrin, Prager broke down a new CBS News/YouGov poll showing that 58% of Democrats view socialism favorably, while only 32% favor capitalism. This is a subject about which Prager, whose field of study in graduate school was communism, is qualified to speak. The case of Luigi Mangione, 28, who admitted last week in federal court that he murdered UnitedHealthCare CEO Brian Thompson in December of 2024, has taken yet another dramatic turn.

As RedState previously reported, Mangione pleaded guilty last Friday to federal stalking charges in the shooting death of Thompson, who was gunned down as he made his way to an investors conference in New York City. The guilty plea was not part of a plea agreement, but an apparent gambit by the defense to get his state murder charges thrown out.

When making his plea official, the defendant admitted to shooting Thompson, saying, “On the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan, and he died.” He added, “I knew what I was doing was illegal.”

“Before traveling to New York, I used a 3D printer to make a gun,” he admitted. “On the morning of Dec. 4, 2024, I shot Mr. Thompson in Manhattan, and he died. When I did so, I understood my actions put him in … I knew what I was doing was illegal.”

Legal experts have speculated that Mangione’s legal team risked having their client plead guilty to the federal stalking charges in order to have his state murder charges thrown out because of New York state’s double jeopardy protections. His murder trial was expected to begin on September 8.

The Democratic mayor of Lawrence, Mass. has been arrested and faces charges for allegedly fraudulently obtaining more than $1.5 million in pandemic-era small-business loans and misusing the money, the Department of Justice said Friday.

Brian DePeña, 61, was charged with one count of wire fraud and one count of money laundering and is set to make an initial appearance in a Boston federal court on Friday, the DOJ said in a news release. DePeña used the funds from the pandemic relief loans to fund his campaign account, pay personal taxes, and pay off more than $880,000 in high-interest mortgages, the department alleges.

“Mayor [DePeña] was elected to be a leader for the City of Lawrence. He was looked up to and trusted by his constituents, but he betrayed that trust through his alleged corruption and lies,” U.S. Attorney Leah Foley said in a statement. “Today’s arrest is just another example of our determination to root out fraud by anyone, even public officials and holding elected officials accountable.”

In 2020 and 2021, DePeña applied for Economic Injury Disaster Loans (EIDL) for Tenares Tire Services Inc., a Lawrence-based tire sales and automotive services business that he owned, the DOJ alleged, citing charging documents. The EIDL program provided loans and advances aiming to “help businesses recover from the economic impacts of the pandemic,” according to the U.S. Small Business Administration.

Working capital did not include financing a political campaign, paying personal taxes, or paying off mortgages, according to the DOJ.

DePeña’s office did not immediately respond to the Daily Caller News Foundation’s request for comment.

A Somali man in Minnesota has been hit with criminal charges in a case involving over $1.5 million in Medicaid fraud. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison announced on Monday that Salman Ahmed Elmi has been charged with three counts of aiding and abetting theft by swindling and five counts of aiding and abetting theft by false representation.

Ellison’s office said that between 2024 and 2026, Elmi operated Reva Health, which claimed to provide adult rehabilitative mental health services (ARMHS) to Medicaid recipients. However, documentation was falsified to obtain Medicaid reimbursement, with Elmi and other co-conspirators being accused of instructing employees to pay recipients kickbacks in exchange for their permission to use their personal information in support of the claims.

Several co-conspirators of Elmi at Reva Health “ran separate criminal enterprises with connections to Reva and face charges filed by the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office,” Ellison’s office said.

Those charges out of Hennepin County are against four people, with each being charged with 13 counts of promoting prostitution of an individual and receiving profits from prostitution. For years, Americans have been told that concerns about noncitizens voting are a myth, a right-wing talking point unworthy of serious attention. California’s own secretary of state and attorney general have proven otherwise, however, not by admitting the state has no idea whether, or how often, it’s even happening, but by indicating the state isn’t bothering to track it.

A few weeks ago, the ACLJ submitted two California Public Records Act (CPRA) requests — one to the California secretary of state and one to Attorney General Rob Bonta’s office — seeking records on how the state maintains the integrity of its voter rolls. The Attorney General’s Office took an extension, ultimately responding on Aug. 10.

The Secretary of State’s Office responded first, but refused to provide any records responsive to our request. According to its answer, the statewide voter registration system simply “does not contain” a specific cancellation reason for non-citizenship. In other words, the state cannot tell us how many noncitizens have ever been removed from its voter rolls — because it doesn’t keep that information at all.

Below is a summary of our records requests to the secretary of state, and how California responded to each: First, we asked for the number of voter registrations that were canceled because the registrant didn’t meet citizenship requirements. California said its system “does not contain a voter status reason for cancellation due to non-citizenship.”

The AP headline was painfully vague: “Massachusetts is close to giving doctors the final word on whether to perform late abortions.” AP reporter Geoff Mulvihill didn’t emphasize this was an “abortion until birth” bill.
